Premiere Pro (CS6) - Windows 8 - [..\...Src\Win\Winfile.cpp-814] error

Hello
Im currently having some issues with Premiero Pro (via creative suite 6) on a Windows 8 64 bit machine after reinstalling due to an error resulting in the encoding sequence crashing/hanging and remaining on 0% indefinitly
Video and audio were both taken via the same machine and are both in .MP4 format. The project will render correctly however will not export
Upon selection of export with match sequence settings enabled I receive the error box saying:
Premiere Pro Debug Event
Premiere Pro has encountered an error.
[..\...Src\Win\Winfile.cpp-814]
Upon closing the error the screen returns back to the work space. with an error box saying:Error compiling movie - unknown error. After this it again shows the infinite encoding screen.
I have tried uninstalling the programme and running any updates etc however I am unable to get it to work.
Would really appreciate an answer to this.Uninstalling and reinstalling is in itself a pain.
Many thanks

I can't give direct help with that error, but some reading that MAY help... These notes are (mostly) for Encore, but some ideas that may help
As well as the below, right click the program icon and select Run as Administrator, which is NOT the same thing as running the computer with the Administrator account, and which fixes several "odd" problems...

  • Premiere Pro (CS6) - Windows 7- [..\...Src\Win\Winfile.cpp-814] error

    Hi,
I'm currently working on an animated music video to upload on YouTube fairly soon and while trying to export my video I get an error popup saying [..\...Src\Win\Winfile.cpp-814].
I've had no problem exporting before and now this thing comes out of nowhere to ruin my day and my project haha.
I've resterted the project and the popup still appears. I even went to the extent of going back to Premiere Pro CS 5.5 but I receive  a popup saying  [..\...Src\Win\Winfile.cpp-785]
...with another saying "Thank you for using "Adobe Device Control". The Adobe product that installed "Adobe Device Central" has not been activated. Please launch and activate that Adobe product before continuing to use "Adobe Device Central" after it exports.
And,  when the project  does export, it exports with just the video with NO audio .
I have never had this issue before, it just randomly happened. I've use Premiere Pro going on 5 years now and have never had an issue until now. Someone or some hero please help me slay this dragon so I may post my awesome music video on YouTube. Thanks

I found a bug report on this exact crash. The developer's notes indicate that the crash occurs when Premiere gets an unexpected result when checking to see if a file is open. One thing that might work is to reboot the system, thereby closing any files that were basically in a bad state.
If that doesn't do the trick, then installing PPro CC as a trial should allow you to get around this.

  • Src/Win/WinFile.cpp-754" error

I’m using PPRO in Production Premium CS4.
I’m getting the “Src/Win/WinFile.cpp-754” error” when I AME starts or shortly after it starts. System worked fine since I installed the CS4 upgrade 4 months ago but today a project is due and this happens.
My system: Dell Precision 690, 3Ghz Xeon processor, 4 GB ram, Internal HDs (1) 300 and (1) 400 GB, External HDs (2) 1 TB.
I’ve read and searched the forums and now I’m frustrated and in need of some help. Has anyone found definitive solution to this “Src/Win/WinFile.cpp-754” problem?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I searched the internet with that error mssg and it seems a lot of them have to do with video card drivers. There was some information about matrox drivers and that problem on the internet...
Also some 'Axio' card driver problems related to that error message...
Have you recently updated your video card drivers ?

  • Error message [..\..\Src\Win\WinFile.cpp-758]

i tried to encode AVI video file with media encoder CS5 to MPEG2
and after it seemed the encoding was done i got this message?
    [..\..\Src\Win\WinFile.cpp-758]
can enyone help me with this?

I had the same problem with recently updated Encore (5.01.) Tried shortening & simplifying file names with no luck either. I tried half a dozen things that sometimes work (e.g., refreshing source material, restarting Prmier Pro project from scratch) because of an error I overlooked. Nothing worked. Then, much by accident, I looked at the Media Cache. I had recently shifted the Media Cache to a new 3 TB hard drive that wasn't being used very heavily, figuring I had a lifetime supply of space. Wrong. It was completely filled up, mostly with the Media Cache. I cleared the Media Cache [Edit > Preferences > Media...] and BINGO! The project rendered cleanly.
    Hope this helps.
Adobe needs to address this issue. The best solution would be to automatically clear out the cache materials associated with a perticular project whenever the project drops off the radar. A minimal solution that should be quick and easy to implement would be to monitor the empty space on the scratch disk and flash a pop-up warning when it was getting too full.
    Addendum, 10 May 2012:
This one has left me thoroughly confused. Just ran a similar set of files through Encore, cleared the cache first, then good ole 758 again. It took several attempts, but finally it went through. Then I discovered I had forgotten to set something minor in the navigation and had to re-do it. Three tries later, it worked. Phase of the moon, I suppose.
This is not the first time this has happened - it happens occasionally with other similar files. I have had my best success running Encore when I let it run alone.  It doesn't seem to time share very well with other programs, which is inconvenient because I like to work with Premiere and Photoshop getting the next project ready to go while Encore is processing the current one. Encore needs a batch queue like the one Premiere uses so I could prep the projects in Premiere/Photoshop during the day and then let the Encore queue run overnight. The queue would have to be configured so that if one project failed it would set it aside and move on to the next one.
Another problem Encore has is hanging temporarily. It doesn't die but just quits responding for a short time. It took me a while to discover that Encore was running but just not responsive to the operating system. I'm a little surprised because I have a fairly fast AMD 6 core chip and lots of RAM (or so I thought) at 16 GB. The gadgets and Resource Monitor tell me that the six cores are frequently using over 90% of the available combines cpu cycles and occasionally most of the available RAM.
I put in a 256 GB  solid state drive, divided between the o/s and installed programs, leaveing about 120 GB for the files I was processing. The idea was that everything would be moving strictly in solid state. Maybe that speeded the system up too much. Putting in a 120 GB SSD sure made an 8-year old XP box scream though.
I am looking forward to getting CS6 in the next few weeks - I hope they have these bugs sorted out by then. From what I have seen in the forums, similar WinFile.cpp problems have been in existence since CS4 at least.

  • [..\..\Src\Win\WinPathUtils.cpp-427] error?????

I am running Adobe Production bundle CS3 and in Encore when I try to import an asset this message window appres "Adobe Encore has encountered an error [..\..\Src\Win\WinPathUtils.cpp-427]" and then I click the "continue button" and this pops up "An input contract violation has occured!'
I am running windos XP Sp2, fast machine with lots of ram and memory! any ideas? Previous Production Bundle ran perfect, but I unistalled it and installed the new CS3 and now I get this problem.
    Any ideas anyone?
and a HUGE thanks in advance

While using Adobe Premier Elements 7 to edit AVC HD I encounted the error message  (..\..\Src\Win\WinPathUtils.cpp.533) when trying to reopen an almost completed video project.
After days of trying to solve why opening the project I encounter error message (..\..\Src\Win\WinPathUtils.cpp.533)  I decided to re-edit the video starting with a different project name. When I came to place AVCHD clip 00055 on the time line I encounter error message (..\..\Src\Win\WinPathUtils.cpp.533) I deleted clip 00055 from the hard drive (these clips were a copy from my camera I still have the originals)
I was able to reopen the original project as this AVCHD clip 00055 was the cause of error message (..\..\Src\Win\WinPathUtils.cpp.533) I renamed AVCHD clip 00055 to 05555 reinserted it in original project this saved me many hours of re-editing
Therefore I think in my case error message (..\..\Src\Win\WinPathUtils.cpp.533) was to do with a corupt AVCHD camera file within the project which was removed and the original project was abled to be opened.

  • How to transfer and use the project files from Premiere Pro cs6 MAC OS to Premiere Pro CS6 Windows

Is there any plugin or tool that can help me to transfer my project files along data edited on adobe premiere cs6 MAC OS to the adobe premiere pro cs 6 on windows PC

When transferring a project from one computer to another,to stop errors such as these, its essential to ensure that the project is copied with all the files and folders in exactly the same locations. Also before opening the project on the new computer, you need to set up a new project and set all the preferences to be exactly the same as on the first computer. Then when you open the project, premiere will find all the files in all the right places. Even then you may need to re-link some files. Just follow the prompts when Premiere asks "Where is file...."
We use USB hard drives to store students projects on and they are used on many different computers without problems, as the preferences are all set to be the same.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 playback freezes, regenerates .pek and .cfa files

When I try to watch something in a sequence, the Program Monitor freezes. The playhead moves in the timeline as usual and the audio plays just fine, but the visual freezes. Sometimes it stops a few seconds after I start playing and sometimes the video never plays at all. When I stop playback, it remains frozen for a while, then resets to the frame the playhead is on.
As I checked different options, I discovered Premiere is regenerating both the .pek and .cfa files every time I open it, even though all of my projects have already conformed. I have it set to store the media files with the project, so I know the preview files have not moved or been deleted. I work on this setup 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, and nothing changed since I was in yesterday. It was working fine when I shut it down last night, no one could have logged in while I was gone, and this morning it doesn't work. No updates were installed, no files were moved, no drives switched.
I have searched the internet for help, but all of the forums I've found are at least two months old and recommend installing the 6.0.3 update. I did run updates for all my Adobe software, and it didn't help. I also deleted and re-rendered my peak and cfa files.
One six-month-old forum said that Premiere CS6 cannot playback long AVCHD .m2ts files. Previously I had no problem working with .m2ts files 35 minutes and shorter, or with .mp4 files up to 75 minutes long. The video I'm currently working with is about 75 minutes long. And again, it was working fine yesterday.
Further investigation revealed that playback does not freeze when I import a selection from the Source Monitor (vs. importing from the Bin and trimming in the Timeline) and do not layer clips or apply effects.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks.
    Media Spec:
    File type: AVCHD Video
    Resolution: 1920x1080 (1080p), 29 fps
Imported from camera hard drive using PlayMemories Home
    Computer Spec:
    Adobe Premiere Pro CS6
    Windows 7, 64-bit Service Pack 1
Graphics card is Quadro 5000, driver 276.19
OS/boot drive is a solid state 250gig, and files running off a 2TB local hard drive

    I've tried several more things.
The playback does not freeze if I have only one clip in the timeline.
If I have clips on two or more video tracks, it starts freezing.
Once I clear it down to one video track, it takes a couple of seconds (up to 30) to start playing normally again.
Sometimes I can play two tracks for several minutes before it freezes. Sometimes it freezes immediately.
When I open Premiere, I get the "Media Pending" screen for way longer than usual.
I have rebuilt the peak and cfa files, no difference. GPU accelerator is enabled. The latest Adobe updates are installed.
I see a few other forums with similar problems but no solution.
No settings, file formats, or file locations have changed since Monday (the last time CS6 was working properly). After a lot of digging around I found that a Windows Defender Definition update was installed the morning of the day PP started freaking out. I can't get rid of this update.
I edit two or more hours of footage per day. They are lectures, so they are recorded in 1-3 hour chunks. I use two videos simultaneously--one with the professor's powerpoint presentation, and one of the professor. I keyframe the PPT video into the corner, overlaid over the lecturer. I did this for years without problem in CS5.5 and for two months without problem on my current setup.

  • Runtime Error R6025 while creating text in Premiere Pro CS6

I've looked at a number of posts on this, it seems to pop up for different reasons.

  • Premiere Pro CS6: No sound importing .mts files

    Hey,
    My Setup:
    - Adobe Premiere Pro CS6
    - Windows 7 x64
    My Problem:
I bought a DLSM (Panasonic Lumix G6H) and recorded five hours of footage using AVCHD 50p. I imported the .mts files into Premiere and got no sound at all. Whenever I open the .mts with VLC or WMP there is sound.
I spent numerous hours trying to find a solution for this problem, but unfortunately none of them worked for me.
At this point I'm quite frustrated, I NEVER create accounts to ask questions, because usually they are answered - but this time i couldnt manage to overcome this issue.
    I already tried:
    1) Copy the entire folder structure - didnt work
    2) Rename the .mts to .m2ts - didnt work
    3) Using the Media-Browser when importing the files - didnt work
    4) Rename it to .avi - didnt work
    5) Downloaded "Any Video Converter" as my last resort.. there is no option for 50p .m2ts (which might work) - not satisfying

  • Option for Creating Photshop File in Premiere Pro CS6 is grayed out

Inside of Premiere Pro CS6 (Windows version), when I try to select File > New > Photoshop File...  the option is grayed out.  I have the Project panel selected and have Photoshop CS6 running when I attempt this.  Anyone have any ideas?

Well I appreciate the feedback.  I did solve the problem.  I was very wary of reinstalling software since I have so many 3rd party plug-ins that I would have to reinstall that would take forever.  I notice that in After Effects it has a similar command File > New > Adobe Photoshop file, it was NOT grayed out but errored out when I tried to run it.  It turned out that my Photoshop files were not being recoginized properly in Windows.  The PS icon would not show up in the name column of  Windows Explorer, although the Type woudl be correct.  So if you clicked on a PSD file it would not open in PS unless you opened directly from PS.   So I associated one PSD file in Windows Explorere with Photoshop CS6, which made the ICONS show up which solved all my problems in AE and Premiere.  Easy fix, once you search the entire universe back and forth and think about it for a bit.
