Premiere Pro CS6 won't open (nor will After Effects)

I'm using a Mac, and this morning my system needed to run two updates. The first was an update for OS X to 10.9.2. It's focus was on improvement to stability, compatibility, and security. The second was a CUDA driver update to 5.5.47. After both of the updates, neither Premiere CS6 or After Effects will open. They get stuck on the loading graphic with the spinning "beachball". I have to force quit both programs. What's weird is that the CUDA update in my system preferences states that "No newer CUDA Driver available" yet below that in red it says that an update is required. This has been extremely frustrating all day long. I've tried all of the following:
Uninstalling both programs and reinstalling
Restarting the computer after each step
Updating the programs usnig the adobe application manager
Launching both from the program icon as well as a project file
I'm guessing this is primarily to do with the CUDA driver situation. I'm not sure how to fix this..

Please go to below mention location on your MAC and delete the referenced file from it and then try to launch the program.
MACINTOSH HD or “Startup drive/Library/Frameworks” and delete “CUDA.Framework”

I have the Adobe Creative Cloud, and I installed Premiere Pro CS6 Family. I was able to open it once, but now that I have tried launching it recently, it comes up with an error message saying "This application has failed to start because MSVCR100.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem". What exactly does that mean?

It means that the Microsoft Visual C++ Resource library got corrupted. Reinstalling can help, because that is the first step of the installlation process. The alternative is to go to the Microsoft site and download the latest C++ libraries and install them manually.

Premiere Pro CS6 won't open... Loading ImporterQuicktime.bundle

I just replaced the internal hard-drive after having issues with it and after restoring the system, I'm unable to load Premiere Pro CS6. I make it as far as the ImporterQuicktime.bundle before the program freezes and I have to force quit. I'm on a 13' Macbook Pro.
Please Help!

Does Premiere pro CS6 let you edit footage in After effects CC?

I was thinking about buying after effects cc but then i wonder if you still can have a good workflow between adobe after effects cc and adobe premiere pro cs6?

Well, if you want just After Effects CC 2014, it is $20 per month. To get After Effects and Premiere Pro would be $40. But getting everything, almost all of the Adobe products, is only $10 more for a total of $50.
If you are in the USA. Otherwise it can be much more expensive.
To buy After Effects CS6 to work with your Premiere Pro CS6, it would cost around $900.

Trial premiere pro cs6 won't run anymore

Hello, I downloaded a trial for premiere pro cs6 yesterday and it worked great. But today, it wouldn't run anymore. I got the message that the program 'could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again'. I totaly didn't get it, but i restarted my laptop and then it worked. But an hour later, after closing the program, i wanted to open it again and i got the same message. This time, it didn't run after restarting.
Can someone please tell me what to do? How do i 'update my video display drivers'...? And how come i have to do this all of a sudden? I have a brand new laptop and i worked with premiere pro cs5 before.

Premiere Pro CS6 won't load audio volume.

When I open my project I get this:
Then, none of the volume adjustments work on the timeline.
Everything you need to know:
Mac OSX Snow Leopard
Premiere Pro CS6 (Production Premium)
Project imported from FCP7 XML, although I have removed all effects etc from that import. All filters and adjustements have been made in premiere.
I've copied all the clips into a new timeline, restarted premiere, rebooted, don't know what else to do.
Please help?

For the record I'm having this same problem. Scary, since I made a bunch of audio edits and lost that work.
Definitely smells like a bug. I'm using Xto7 to convert a sequence from FCP X to an XML file CS6 can read; I'm having to run both FCP X and Premiere simultaneously, since Xto7 didn't really do a good job. The problem occured when I switched back and forth between the two, and tried to relink an offline file in my Premiere project (where I am reassembling the sequence). Suddenly the sound would not play. I quit and restarted, and got the error above. Ugh.

Premiere Pro CS6 Project Manager gives error & will not manage project - OS X Lion 10.7.5

Premiere CS6 project manager reports an error and will not manage my project. I have tried several times with both "Create New Trimmed Project" and " Collect Files and Copy to New Location". I have also tried to manage the project with options checked and unchecked (Include Preview Files, Include Audio Conform Files, Rename Media Files to Match Clip Names). Every time I try to manage the project, the process takes a few hours and then gives an error asking me to try again.
The project is 90 minutes long and uses multiple footage formats:
Sony FS100
Sony NEX7
Sony NEX-5n
Canon C300
Canon 5DmkII
Panazonic HVX200
My computer is:
Processor 2 x 2.66 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
Memory 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
Is this a bug, or are there specific things I can do to troubleshoot the problem? I have read of issues with AVCHD. I have confirmed all of my AVCHD folders are intact. Any other Ideas?

I have this same problem on a Mac with CS6. I was simple trying to archive a project using the "collect files" option. After five or six hours of troubleshooting (Thanks Adobe) I have narrowed it down to MXF clips that came over in a Final Cut EDL (Projects created in PP with MXF files seem to be fine). In other words, as I was transitioning from FCP to Premiere Pro, I sent four or five projects out of FCP as an EDL, opened them in PP and continued to edit. It seemed to work really well until I attempted to archive my media. If there was a single raw MXF file in the timeline (Not the project panel for some reason) the Project Manager would give me the standard error:"An unknown error occurred during the Project Manager operation. Please save your project and retry the operation.".
I have found two solutions that seem to work, both of which are a pain in the ax.
Option 1: Save the original project file only to an archive folder. Then delete all the old timelines from the project, and save the project with a new name. Create a new timeline and just drag all the raw video and audio into it. (Project Manager needs a timeline of some sort to archive) Then use the Project Manager to archive the modified project. If I need the project in the future, I'll need to open the original PP project and relink all the media from the archived "media only" project folder.
Unbelievably, if you were to take this route and then re-edit the project in the future, it looks like you would run up against the same archiving issue AGAIN next time (At least using CS6). You'd have to go through all the steps above to archive it a second time. Depending on the size of your project, you may want to take option 2 and get the pain over with once-and-for-all.
Option 2: If you only have a couple of MXF files in the timeline (in my case I had mostly renders from AE by the time I was done and THAT raw project had archived in AE just fine) you can export the raw MXF files to another format, then replace the media in your project panel. Finally, use the Project Manager to archive the project like you should have been able to in the first place if Adobe had written the code well in the first place!

I'll Show you that there are some sources of error:
1. Maybe you have to activate/deactivate, so please have a look there:

2, Sometimes, we know in the meantime, the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
3. Did you already try "uninstalling and re-installing"? Be careful with (de)installing aso. by (de)installing by your own resources. As much as I regret it and as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.
Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)

Premiere Pro CS6 won't play imported files even after changing format, etc?

Camera: Canon Legria HFM41
Video file format: MTS (1920 x 1080)
For the past few days I've been trying to understand why my video files won't play in Premiere, I'll import them, and when I press play the audio will work, but the video will play smoothly for only a few seconds then stop, skipping frames/slowing the speed of the video - I've read a lot of these forums on similar issues, then I tried converting the format to avi/mp4 and they still won't play smoothly when importing to Premiere Pro.. Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong/how to solve this.. Thank you!

Premiere Pro CS4 won't open. Receiving Error message...

When I try to open Premiere Pro CS4, the program doesn't open but I receive the Error message below instead:
LoadLibraryEx Startup.dll failed with error 999: Error performing inpage operation.
Does anyone know what this means or how I can fix it aside from reinstalling the software? Thanks.

Thank you for that info. I actually just reinstalled the program only to have another error occur. Apparently that when you install Premier, you must also install a bunch of other perhipheral software including After Effects Third Party Content. There was an error with that but Premiere worked fine, but After Effects wouldn't start. Then I checked for updates and everything seems to be working fine. Not even sure if that Third Party Content is working because my laptop is not powerful enough to run After Effects effectively anyways. But thanks again for your response. I will defenitely keep that in mind if I ever have any more problems.

Premiere Pro CS6 refuses to open its own project

My adobe premier pro cs 6 will not now open my project which it has just saved, nor will it open any of the automatically saved files. I have opened and closed this project several times with the new program.
It says that "this project contains a sequence that cannot be opened and no file or codex can be associated with this sequence type."
Been using premier pro for 10 years and never had a version which failed to open a project before.
What to do???

Help! Mail freeze: window won't open, nor will it close so I can restart

I've just had a strange problem with Mail. The window won't open - or has issues with opening (it did, but only briefly). It's generally having problems - its menus aren't dropping down - and I would like to quit and restart the computer (a Mac Mini). I've tried an apple q and nothing is happening. So the computer won't restart unless I force a shut down by manually holding down the button.
Any suggestions most welcome…

Premiere Pro CC won't open any recent projects.

I recently installed Premiere Pro on Creative Cloud. When I started on my project, it was all working just fine. I closed my project and tried opening it again and the Premiere icon appears on the bottom of my screen and then nothing happens. After a few seconds my cursor turns into a watch and then the app closes. How do I fix this?

I was able to start up Premiere, but I was unable to open anything, recent or new without the app shutting off. It's fine, I restarted my computer and it was working fine again. Thanks for replying!
