  • Premiere Pro - Insufficient Media Error - Please help!

    Hi, everyone!
I'm working in Adobe Premiere Pro (CS3), taking 3 thirty second video clips, and putting them together, along with an audio track, to make a 1:30 video background with music.
I'm trying to apply a short cross dissolve to each of the video clips. When I do, I get an error message that there is insufficient media and some frames will be repeated.
This is a mystery to me, because each of the thirty second clips is clearly longer than the cross dissolve transition.
The transitions seem to play fine in Premiere, but do not appear to show up in any render so far (I've tried .avi, .mov, and .wmv)
Any idea why I might be getting this error, and how I can correct the problem?

Telling him to go study video editing is not helpful at all.
That depends.  If he does actually go off and study video and can then perform the task better, then it really was helpful.
I've used a number of other pro video editing programs and I've never had to do this in order to make a cross dissolve work
Yes, you have.  Any proper transition needs handles.  This is a universal concept, and applies to all editors, all media, and all software programs.  Some programs, Premiere included, may try and 'cheat' the transition by repeating frames or with some other method, but that is not then a proper transition.
Heck even older versions of Premiere didn't require this step.
Yes, they have.  All NLEs always have, and always will.
telling someone to go read the manual or go learn video editing is not what these forums are for
I would argue that Premiere Pro, and hence these forums, are for those who have already learned video editing.
First lean, then do.  This applies to any activity.  Those who try and skip step one and show up here looking for help do often meet with some backlash.

  • Adobe premiere pro 6    exporting Error Message:  winFile.ccp-814]

adobe premiere pro 6    exporting Error Message:  winFile.ccp-814]

I'm getting the same error when I try to export a video.
Below I've tried to follow the above provided list of info required for the forum.
I'm using the most current version of Premiere Pro from CC.
I installed all the updates last night before trying to export.
I'm running an updated version of Win8.
The source footage is mostly shot from my 550D/T2i(.mov), and then there are small overlays of an mp4 video I ripped from Youtube. I'm trying to export the video as MPEG2, at 1080i settings. Is this enough info?
[..\..\Src\Win\WinFile.cpp-814] that is the error message I'm getting
When the problem occurs Ijust hit"Okay", which takes me back to the export screen. I hit "export" again, and then it appears to be exporting, but the progress bar stays on 0%.no it hasn't worked before.
Other software? As in simultaneously? Just Chrome browser. Or in conjunction with Premiere Pro; then nothing. It's a standard export from PP without any plugins or standalones contributing to the export.
As stated above, no I have no third party stuff running.
    Hardware
    Processor: AMD II X6 1055T 2.8GHz
    Memory: 16GB
    GPU: ATI 5700 1GB
No, I'm not using Mercury Playback engine.
Only with final ouput. My previews are fine.
    Hope that's enough info.

  • CS6 Premiere Pro video card error message

I do believe my CS6 programs WERE working, but...  When I try to load Premiere Pro, I get the error message about not finding a video card.  The suggestions and solutions (listed elsewhere on Adobe) have not worked:  run as administrator, install latest drivers, etc..  I have a Dell Inspiron 560, Windows 7, and an integrated video of Intel GMA X4500.  How can I get my Premiere Pro to load?  Do I need to install a video card (if so, what are the recommendations--ATI, Nvidia, etc..).  I started with CS5 and upgraded to CS6.  Thank you.

Ask in the Premiere forum for specifics. also make sure to run all updates. The 4500 was only supported in one of the point updates.

  • Persistent Premiere Pro CC 2014 error message: "This project contains a sequence that could not be opened..."

I've been working on a project and everything was working fine. I close the program and reopened it an hour later. Now, I keep getting this error message: "This project contains a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type."
I attempted to use one of the Adobe suggested solutions... opening a new project, clicking on the "Help" Tab and deactivating, but the tab doesn't have that option. I'm also a little afraid to uninstall and re-install premiere pro, the other suggestion, because I'm worried about losing my files.
I would be grateful if anyone could help me.
    Thank you very much.

I've ran that into a Matrox MX02LE (with MAX) for capture and I've done this for years with Premeire Pro although it was with earlier versions (4 and 5).  I'm using a Win 7-64 CPU with 16GB and an SSD for my OS.
The HVR-M25U also has a FireWire I/O. Please try to connect that (or the one from your camera) directly to your computer for best results.

  • Premiere Pro and Media Encoder crash while rendering H.264

Very recently, a problem's popped up where Premiere Pro and Media Encoder (CC) will crash while rendering H.264.
It's only while rendering H.264 - other formats seem to work fine.
And I don't mean that it returns an error, I mean it hard crashes with a Windows "Adobe Premiere Pro CC has stopped working" popup.
It doesn't crash at a consistent time during the render, even on the same project. Occasionally, it won't crash at all, but this is usually not the case.
I've tried disabling CUDA and my overclock to no avail. Please help!

On the topic of opening a project on the exact same version of Premiere Pro CC 2014 (yes it is definitely up to date, and the 2014 version), to overcome this export crash problem that ZachHinchy has brought up - you can't. Technically speaking, one should easily be able to open a Premiere Pro CC 2014 project from one system on another system running the exact same up to date, legitimate version of Premiere Pro CC 2014 without any kind of error. But for some reason, this has been disallowed(?) by Adobe. It has facepalm written all over it. Does anyone agree that this is at least a little bit silly?
I have tried exporting a Final Cut Pro XML from my project to try and open the sequence at uni on a Mac, so I can render my project when I finish my edit. It half works - the clips are there, but the sequence is gone - i.e. 12 hours of painstaking sequencing and micro-edits that had me at several points in time wanting to insert my hand through my monitor with enough force to make a large hole. I really cannot afford redo this sequence, as my assignment is due tomorrow, and I have to work at 6 oclock in the morning, so I also cannot afford to stay up till the early hours of tomorrow morning. Wish me luck that some miraculous event has taken place overnight that will somehow allow me to just open my project, on the same version of Premiere, on a Mac, without hassle. (Apple OS is not friendly to anything but its own selfish nature, so I am having doubts).
Adobe please, if you can do anything at all to help, you will save my assignment, and my faith will be restored. Otherwise, I'll just get my money back and buy Final Cut instead.
    I cant even
If I find a way to fix either of these problems, I will post straight away.

I can´t use Premiere Pro CS6 media manager. It begin analyze project but then come couple error messages. • How can I export an iMove Project if the Event file was deleted?  (Missing Media error message)

    Deep iMovie question:
I accidentally deleted various EVENT files from my iMove EVENTS folder.  Yes, they are really gone ... this is NOT a matter of restoring them from the trash.
The projects are still there ... I can still watch the projects as long as I am in iMovie ... but if I try to export the Project I get the MISSING MEDIA error message.
Logic tells me that if I can view the project ... the  file has to be SOMEWHERE inside my computer ... else I couldn't be watching it ... right?  I mean what am I watching if not some file somewhere which has moving pictures stored in it?
So HOW do I get to something I can export?  What am I watching when I watch the project?
I have iMove 08 on iMac with OS 10.6.8
Normally works great for my simple needs ... except if you move or delete an event file ...
    Can anyone out there help?
    thank you,
    Natasya

If you don't have the original files then I'm afriad you don't have anything to work with.

  • .wmv's getting cut in half horizontally inside Premiere Pro, AE, Media Encoder...

Hello everyone! I'm having an issue using .WMV's within Premiere Pro, AE, and the Media Encoder. Whenever I open the image in a sequence or the source window, the image is cut in half horizontally (see pic below). I brought in an MP4 and had no issues so at the moment I think I have narrowed down to strictly a .WMV problem. The file plays perfectly fine in realtime; audio sounds great, picture (of what I can see) looks good; I am just missing the top half of any WMV file hehe. I have tried the WMV inside AE as well but have the same issue. I also tried to export the WMV with Media Encoder but it exports the WMV cut in half no matter what format I tell it to conver the file to..
My Premiere Pro, AE, and Media Encoder are fully up to date; my Nvidia 660 Ti is up to date; I just installed latest Windows 7 codec package; Just installed newest Windows 7 x64 updates.
Also, this is a big one to note...This is the first time I have used Premiere Pro/AE/Media Encoder on this system. I just built this PC about 1 month ago and have had 0 problems with it across other programs (Photoshop, 3ds max, etc..) I just recently installed Premiere, AE, Media Encoder on it and am running into this problem upon my first bootup of Premiere/AE/Media Encoder.
My system specs are posted below the picture and file specs.
The pic below shows my setup and the issue I am having. The video of Finding Nemo on the left is the .MP4 (specs on file are below) and the video on the right is the .WMV in question (specs also below.)
I have tried multiple WMV's of different bit rates, etc, and all of them do this "cut in half thing.." No issues with other file types though!
    The .WMV's specs are.....

It appears that Microsoft has issued the fixed update:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/bulletin/ms13-057
    See the "Update FAQ" section:
"Why was this bulletin revised on August 13, 2013?
Microsoft revised this bulletin to rerelease the 2803821 update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
The rereleased update addresses an application compatibility issue in which WMV encoded video could fail to properly render during playback. Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 customers should install the rereleased update."

  • Premiere Pro CS3 Media Encoder question...

    Hi,
I got a question regarding the Premiere Pro CS3 Media Encoder.
I am converting a sequence in Premiere Pro CS3 which contains footage from a '.vob' file which is NTSC, 720x480, 16:9 to a '.flv' file.
Now I'm doing this via Premiere Pro CS3 Media Encoder and it let's me choose the Width & Height but there is no checkbox to keep the proportions - which I find is very, very inconvenient...
So if I wanna convert this to a .flv file which is 400 high, the width should be 600, right ?
Also, there is no way to specify to keep the 16:9 aspect ratio.
Is that done automatically or how/where can I specify it ?
Thanx for your help in advance !
    Mike

If you want 16:9. you need to consider that the lower number should probably be divisible by 72. So, if you want something about 600 wide, I would use 360 for the lower number which gives you a frame size of 640X360
When divisible by 72, it is evenly divisible by both 8, which is great for encoders, and 9, which is the frame ratio you want.
Just choose square pixels and you will be fine.
