Premiere Pro is going to sleep and not waking up?
If I leave it for any time while I am working in another application and come back to it, the program refuses to play back. Shutting down the software and restarting doesn't work either, rebooting the machine seems to be the only fix. I am cutting on an i7 iMac with 32 Gb ram and using two thunderbolt equipped RAID drives. This isqsue shappens irrespective of whether the media is held on the external drive or on the internal HD?
I found a solution to another problem with PP maybe it will help you as well. Try to turn of any setting in you graphic card that has to do with OpenGL and see if that helps.
I am using PP CS6, Win7 and a nVidia Quadro1000M. Maybe it will also work on an iMac with ATI graphics.

Computer randomly goes to sleep and not waking up
My computer randomly goes to sleep-while I'm using it, and it won't wake up. Any suggestions? Is it something I'm doing?
Check temperatures by using Temperature Monitor -application. Atleast Macbook did this when there was problem with temps, cleaning heat sink and reapplying thermal solved the problem. G5 -based iMacs are known for running very hot temperatures and there was all kinds of motherboard failures as well as power supplies going bad.

Macbook Pro Randomly Goes to Sleep and Wont Wake Up
My Macbook Pro started having this problem a few months ago and it has gotten progressivly worse and worse. It will randomly go to sleep but I wont be able to wake it back up. The keys are lit up and the light on the front is pulsing, but no matter what I do it wont wake up. So I have to do a hard reset to turn it back on. This happens a few times a day so its pretty infuriating. I have read on other forums about people having this same problem but havent been able to find a solid solution.
Here is what kind of Macbook I have:
And here is the error report that I get once I restart my computer:

Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance!Hey this was happening to me too! So i called apple care, i have a the Late 2011 Macbook Pro, and this is what they suggested:
1. open system preferences
2. open engery saver
3. look at "Computer sleep" and move it over to a longer time period
for instance I had mine at 5 minutes so thats why it would go to sleep all the time
-now I set it to 25 minutes
Hope that fixes your problems! -
Airdisk falling asleep and not waking up
what i thought might be a partitioning error/issue might be another thing altogether... let's start from the top. lots of random details follow, but something might be the kicker.
i have an older AEBS (non-dual-band, non-giga-bit, circa 2007) in another room (garage -- with all of the other panels, switches, etc.) that distributes a signal to the whole house -- specifically to two airport express base stations (delivering music, printer sharing, etc.). the AEBS is sending out a G/N signal (for iphones, network cameras, etc.) and one of the expresses is sending out an N-only (for my macbook).
the purpose of the AEBS is three-fold. (1) to provide wireless connectivity (2) to serve as a conduit to a backup airdsk for (a) general computer/home theater backups and (b) a consistent repository for a network (security) camera feed fed through "security spy" via a mac mini (home theater hub) which is hard-wired to the network via whole-house ethernet (belkin hub in the garage ties it all together). the camera itself is wireless (G-speed).
over the past few weeks, i've been getting very poor throughput on the wireless network -- speed bumps back up (from <1bps to >20mbps) when plugged into the ethernet network (as viewed through speakeasy's speedtest).
ok. the issue is that the new 2TB lacie harddrive is going to "sleep" and not waking up. it works fine for about 1/2 hour after hookup or "hard" wake-up (restart AEBS/drive).
previously (as few as 5 weeks ago, i had a smaller lacie drive (1TB) serving the same function flawlessly.
so... is this new airdisk issue due to:
-- the AEBS not liking the 2TB size?
-- the AEBS giving signs of failure (esp. with the network issues noted above)
-- is the new lacie drive either (a) a DOA-failure or (b) doing its job by falling asleep (if so, it'd be a new 1TB>>2TB feature)...
-- user error
-- something completely random...
thanks for any wisdom you can lend...I have pretty much the same setup with the same model AEBS and I get the same problem with a 2TB Western Digital drive plugged in. I solved this problem a month ago by updating my system to Snow leopard and updating firmware to the base station and rebuilding pretty much the whole network. But it came back this weekend. Is driving me crazy!
(Side note: I also use that drive as a wireless Time Machine backup but can only get it to work reliably with my wife's Macbook not my own- which actually worked for a weekend but then decided that was enough.) -
Since upgrading to Yosemite my macbook pro keeps going to sleep if I am not using it. I want it to stay on as I leave it doing things overnight (cd's / recording etc. It was fine before the upgrade and I have all the system preference set to "never turn off" - Help !!!
Good advice from Linc Davis that should sort out your query i think...
However you dont want to set your MBP to never go to sleep...
Adjust reasonable sleep settings...
And the download an APP called caffiene...
When you click it you can have your MBP never go to sleep with a single click of your menu bar... and with another click it can go to sleep normally to maintain the laptop...
Simply click the cup... To toggle never sleep/sleep -

Help Please
JimOps I replied to myself in error.....
Tom:
I performed the steps indicated but this morning when I clicked the mouse and hit the space key and clicked the track pad again as before nothing happens.
I hold the power button for a few seconds and the screen fills as if the computer was normally awakened but it is locked up.
Then I have to shut it down with the power button and then power it up as a reboot.
Not good...SMC reset didn't work....Throughout the day yesterday I put the computer to sleep and woke it up normally. It seems to be a overnight problem.
Am I going to have to shut it down everynight?

Is there a way to detect the event when device goes to sleep and the screen blackens?
I want to detect the event when the iOS device goes to sleep and the screen blackens?
Is there any way to do it?Hi,
A small idea, please check whether it will work or not.
You can achieve this by using combination of DNS server and reverse proxy server.( Customized apache). Make 'A' record for www.abcd.com to reverse proxy server IP address in your DNS.
So it will resolve your reverse proxy IP address for requests.
Configure appche to accept incoming request for www.abcd.com and points towards www.abcd.com/parameters.
I think this will solve your problem. Only one condition is that proxy server will communicate with www.abcd.com on behalf of client.
Follow the link for configuration of reverse proxy server

HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 goes to sleep, but often wakes up when it shouldn't
HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 goes to sleep, but often wakes up when it shouldn't. This happens over and over. It used to sleep until I sent something to be printed. I now shut the printer down, but that takes a long time to start it up.
When you finally get around to looking at my post, never mind.
I reset the factory defaults on the printer and reauthorized my WiFi network.
Now it is working. -
Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 keeps lagging and crashing
My Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 keeps lagging and crashing to a point where I cannot do my job. When I open my premiere file, I can work on my timeline for maybe two or three minutes before it lags, freezes, and then finally crashes. I'm at a loss of what exactly is causing my problem because I edit primarily H.264 files and my sequences are not complex in any sense of the word. I've been dealing with this for days and I cannot seem to find a solution. If anyone has any advice please let me know because I am desperate. Thank you.

HELP! Jerky playback on Premiere Pro 6.0.2 CS6 and Retina MBP (16GB)
Dear all!
Please help me to solve this problem!
It's going on Premiere Pro 6.0.2 CS6 and Retina MBP with 16GB RAM installed.
CUDA Driver Version: 5.0.24
MacBook Pro Retina, Mid 2012
Processor 2,7 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
Software OS X 10.8.1 (12B19)
Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 (6.0.2. - 072)
While playing back inside PP a jerky playback occurs, every 1-2 seconds it rewinds to 2-3 frames back and continues to play forth...
No special console messages or something similar visible.
Have tried to clean the cache but it doesn't help. Also have tried to switch the mode between CUDA, OpenCL and SW - without any visible changes...
Exhausted... Please HELP!!!!avrbox, I had the same problem and went crazy because I didn't find a proper solution. I use Windows, though. Finally, I got to fix the problem. I use a i5 processor, which I overclocked with an asrock tool that came with the mainboard (to about 3350 MHZ where the system ran stable). When I turned overclocking off, Premiere played back the clips just fine. I overclocked then step by step until the playback went jerky again and kept that frequency. Maybe your processor is overclocked by stock or you did it manually?
Hope this is your solution! -

Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
In the Memory tab, are there a lot of Pageouts?
