Premiere Pro Not Opening

Right so a while back, my computer experienced some sort of malfunction in which I had to wipe my main SSD on which the system was on. I had (legally) Adobe Master Suite CS6 on my other hard drive that was dedicated for software and what not. This particular drive I did not wipe, only the SSD with the system. It all worked out mostly fine (the computer restoration), except when I went ahead and plugged my hard drive with all the software on it back in, most of the adobe software no longer worked (Premiere Pro of which the most important of the bunch to me included). I tried dosome tweaks, but nothing seems to work. All I get now is a screen that says "sign in required" (even though this is not a trial) and after that "licensing stopped". What should I do?

  • Premiere pro not opening xml files

    Hi Everyone,
We are transitioning from Final Cut Pro 7 into Adobe Premiere Pro CC. I have exported all my FCP projects as XML Files. I saved the XML files to an external harddrive that I am using to import files into PP on a PC. When I imported the XML files into PP, I was not able to access any files at all in the project. After looking online for answers, it occurred to me that I would need to backup all the source files along with the XML files.
I am in the process of identifying those source files and copying them to the external harddrive that i will be using to edit on Adobe Premiere Pro. The previous videographer did a shoddy job of organizing files, and I am noticing that some projects and their related scratch disks are often in different locations (different Harddrives, some on the original Mac harddrive).  In an effort to keep to make our transition to Premiere Pro as painless as possible, I am backing up all NLE related files (render files, capture scratches, source media files, etc) onto one Harddrive. Is this all necessary?
Is there any blog or article online that i can reference on how to transition from FCP7 to Premiere Pro that addresses source material that is spread out on many storage devices?

Not really, Just know that in FCP, you can move media to a single location using the Media Manager. Once media is moved, a FCP XML file will point to that that drive when opened in Premiere Pro.
    Hope that helps,

  • Premiere Element 13 The progress bar on the lower right for Indexing has frozen and when asking to open a video file in the organizer, Premiere does not open.

    The above says it all.

I can't really answer you first question. What has happened is: when I moved an mpg file from my assets to the movie (I have added already a mpg file in the first part of the movie) a message box appears telling me the file is being "indexed" and then this Indexing progress appears in lower right of screen and it processes up to 99% and then freezes. The file appears in the time line, but the frame appears that says "media pending" and then nothing happens. I can go into the Widows media player and the mpg file plays okay, with audio. That is best I can tell you.
Though I did not say this earlier, when I try to open this mpg file from the Organizer, Premiere does not open.
My operating system is Windows 7 on a Dell computer with lots of ram and plenty of space on my hard drive.
    Properties of movie file
These properties are the same as a file I already inserted in the timeline.
I look forward to your help and thanks..

why wont my photoshop elements 13 and premiere 13 not OPEN/LAUNCH!??

    Hi,
Please try out following steps and see if it helps:
Enable the (Hidden) Administrator account on your computer. See Administrator account for more information.
Sign out of your current user account and log in as the Administrator.
Launch Photoshop Elements Editor and log in from the sign-in screen, using your Adobe ID.
If the editor launches successfully, disable the (Hidden) Administrator account you created in Step 1. See Administrator account for more information on disabling an account.

  • Premiere Pro Not Accepting .PRPROJ File Extension

    Hi,
Have just purchased the official Adobe tutorial book "Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 Classroom in a Book" to learn the fundamentals of the programme and being a "newbie" have encountered numerous problems.
The most frustrating is when I go to open the lesson files with a .prproj file extension in PP it comes up error message "file format not supported"
This seems odd though as the the lesson file names appear in the project panel but are not openable files.
Given that this is an Adobe inhouse file extension being opened by Adobe software am really frustrated that it's this difficult.
Have aready defaulted the ,prproj file on my PC to open with PP Cs3 which I thought would cure it, but no go!! Any help would be most appreciated.

The message appears after I click on "open project" and then click on the file within the "select file dialogue box".
But something is amiss here, after ejecting the dvd, I opened premiere and then open project (from the "lessons" folders on my h/drive now) and the file I was having problems with is not showing.
All the "Lesson" folders are there but some of the files that were showing when the dvd was present are not there! The one in particular that I was trying to work on was 4-2 which was in the lesson 04 folder.
What I will try and do is open the "lesson" folders on the dvd and transfer the files within seperately as opposed to transferring the unopened folder as before.
Thanks for your time so far ,will come back tomorrow.

  • New Mac Pro / Premiere Pro CC / Open CL - Known issue??

    Hi all
I've been using Premiere Pro CC on a new Mac Pro since it was delivered in January.  After some initial teething issues and system crashes everything was running VERY nicely until the last update (build 33) but since then I have been encountering all kinds of issues.
PP is now constantly freezing and crashing not only the software itself but the entire system requiring a reboot.  Whenever I need to render I get all kinds of weird and wonderful glitches in the images and I've had to turn off GPU accel through Open CL just to get the system workable again.
So my question - are these known issues with build 33 or is something else going on??
Another issue unrelated to Open CL (i think) is that XML import / export now appears to be bugged to the point of being unusable.  Very very frustrating!

    Hi simonspear,
Please check the forum discussion which states the same issue. Hope it helps.

  • Premiere will not open - stuck on loading

OK - tech stuff: Macbook pro 2009, OSX 10.6.2, 4 gig Ram, Premiere version 4.2.1
So premiere crashed rendering out to Media Encoder (also crashed) and now will not open anymore - I just get the spinning beachball! Opening the force quit menu has premiere marked as not responding. There is no Adobe crash dialog or anything it just freezes. Please don't ask about removing preferences - been on a Mac long enough to know that's always step 1.
So what's the remedy - and please don't say reinstall?
I do get an error log after force quitting if that will help - link as a txt file below.

    Thanks Guys,
Was checking the other similar post http://forums.adobe.com/thread/387177?tstart=0 and came across a solution (running activity monitor pointed to ImporterProcessServer):
Thanks  to Bill and Bob - I searched for ImporterProcessServer posts and found  one that said that turning off and on your machine usually solves any  issues. Yeah, I know it's tech support 101 but hey sometimes the most  obvious answers! So seeing as it was the simplest solution I tried it  and VIOLA!
So  yes Premiere is working again! I was able to open the project I was  working on - so no corruption with the original file.
So I guess  the question is what the hell happened??? Why did premiere crash out of  nowhere and then refuse to open???
I guess the answer lies in the mysteries of  the ImporterProcessServer....
So big thanks to Bill and Bob!
Hopefully that works for others suffering similar issues....

  • Premiere Pro CS4 Opening Project Issue

    Hi all,
I'm trying to open a Premiere Pro project that I exported from an After Effects project.  Trouble is when I open it I get this long, what I'm assuming is an error, message:
    C:\Users\Name\Desktop\Filename (from AE).prproj
Audio Filter missing:  Internal Volume Mono
Video Filter missing:  AE.ADBE Aud Stereo Mixer
Video Filter missing:  AE.ADBE Color Control

Video Filter missing:  AE.ADBE Point Control
Video Filter missing:  AE.ADBE Slider Control
Video Filter missing:  AE.CC Radial Fast Blur
After I get this and click "Ok", sometimes it won't open the project and other times all the video is white.  When I disabled some of the adjustment layers the video appeared, but it was then uncorrected.
Any idea how to fix this?  Thanks so much.

Now let me tell you what I HAVE done. I have restarted my PC, I have updated all of my drivers, checked my BIOS and disabled anything my intergrated card may have been doing somehow, and I have reinstalled Premiere Pro CS6 and I even uninstalled it and tried Premiere Pro CC with the same issue and spill of details basically.
I would love some knowledge on this, I'm sure there are many of your who have to have edits done within a certain amount of time and it is worrisome.
    Thanks in advance!

I tried this and I'm sad to say it hasn't worked. Premiere pro still will not open but Photoshop and Flash continue to open up correctly.
    Does the line:
    Fault Module Name:
    dvamarshal.dll
Have anything to do with it? I know it's a .dll file instead of the Premiere folders, but beyond that I do not know much.
    Thanks!

  • Acrobat X Pro not opening - Part II

I previously posted on this topic on April 19 and 20 (see http://forums.adobe.com/message/5253051#5253051), but surprisingly, received no responses. I am now reposting because the problem continues and I have been unable to find a satisfactory solution. I hope this post will catch the attention of someone knowledgeable with Acrobat X.
Every few weeks, Acrobat X Pro stops opening. I cannot open Acrobat through the Start menu and double-clicking on PDFs does nothing. When Acrobat is working properly, double-clicking a pdf causes it to open in Acrobat. Today is at least the third time I have had this problem. In the past, restarting my computer or repairing the Acrobat installation did not help. The only solution I found was uninstalling and then reinstalling Acrobat X, which usually costs me at least 20 minutes each time I have this problem.
About an hour ago, I was viewing a pdf in Acrobat when suddenly Acrobat shut down and would not reopen. The only possible trigger I can think of was a Windows automatic update that I installed about 7 hours earler. It was a critical, recommended update. It may have had some relationship, but I suspect the problem is instead some unresolved bug in Acrobat X.
Is anyone aware of this problem and is there a permanent solution?

This is part of a CS6 install. I guess if on Oct. 24 (30 days from Sept. 24) Acrobat is not launching, I will know that the problem is linked to the article you cited.
By the way, the above link misdirects. The correct link is: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/acrobat-failed-launch-30-days.html.

  • Why does Premiere Pro not show in the Creative Cloud

I just bought the montly membership, paid, got the confirmation, but still Premiere Pro does not show in my Creative Cloud options - under audio/video it only shows  and Photoshop, Prelude and Audition.
When I use the link in the email confirmation that I received I can press 'getting started'.
This leads me to the online Creative Cload Download - when I scroll to Premiere Pro, click on download I go to the next page, but still the program does not show?
What should I do differently? I am logged in already.
    Please help me!

Do you have a 64-bit machine?  Normally the listing will only include programs that your machine is capable of running.  Check your machine capabilities against the requirements for Premiere Pro and see if it comes up short.
