Premiere Pro process won't end in Windows 7.

When I exit Premiere Pro CS6, the process continues to run and I can't restart the program until I go into the task manager and end the process.  Any ideas what's causing that?

I'm on 6.0.3 but thanks for the response.
I suppose some other hardware/software details might be handy.

  • Premiere Pro processes won't stop in Windows 7

I am running Premiere Pro CC 2014 on a Windows 7 system with nVidia Quadro 2000 display adapter.  Since upgrading to CC 2014 I've noticed that a lot of my Creative Cloud programs (Premiere, Audition and After Effects, Media Encoder, and I'm guessing others as well, though i haven't tested) refuse to fully close once I've exited the program.
I can't launch the program again unless I go into Windows Task Manager and manually force the Premiere Pro (or other Adobe program to stop).  I've searched other posts here and found one other person experiencing the same problem, but they didn't post a solution.
I've tried uninstalling and re installing, not only the effected programs, but also the Creative Cloud Application Manager, to no avail.
    What is going on?  Anyone?

  • After download and installation, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver and Premiere Pro all won't fully launch.

After download and installation, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver and Premiere Pro all won't fully launch. From the Windows icon pane, I click on the program, it opens the Sign In Required pane, I sign in, it opens the Thank You pane and reverts back to Sign In pane or never opens the program.
Acrobat also keeps giving me a popup to sign in, each time I look at a .pdf file.
I have tried uninstalling Acrobat and then redownloading. It didn't work.
    Anyone else find a fix?

Premiere Pro trial won't download and it isn't listed in my creative cloud. It is frustrating... it says it is downloading but it makes creative cloud pop up and I then can't find it listed . I just want the trial. I have done trouble shooting on cchromeand on my computer.

See if your machine meets the system requirements for the software.  CC will not list applications that will not work with the system.

  • Hi, I can't install premiere pro trial version, probably because my Windows 7 is a 32bits edition. Is there any solution or 32b version of Premiere Pro to download?

    Hi,
I can't install premiere pro trial version, probably because my Windows 7 is a 32bits (x86) edition. Is there any solution or 32b version of Premiere Pro to download?

I am sorry , there is no 32 bit version for both Premiere pro cc as well as After Effects cc
You may try CS 4 version , but it is not completely tested with Windows 7 OS. .

  • Premiere Pro cc won't launch. When I try, the application window flashes, then the application exits without an error message.

I downloaded trial versions of Photoshop and Premiere Pro on my brand new MacBook Pro 15" retina 2.8GHz Intel Core i7. OS X 10.9.5
Photoshop works perfectly. When I try to open Premiere, the application icon on the dock flashes and then disappears without an error message. I have tried (several times) to sign out and in again to Creative Cloud. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere Pro. The same thing continues to happen.
Any suggestions? I'm extremely frustrated as my old version of Final Cut doesn't work on this OS, and I'm keen to try out Premiere before I commit to buying (renting) it.
    Thanks, Team.

Somekind of hardware incompatibility probably. Tech support will work through install/launch failures probelms with you for no charge if you call/chat them.
Having CS5 installed or uninstalled shoudl have nothing to do with it, both apps can run live on the same system simultaneously.

  • GUI Slow in 8.0.1 and 8.1 because of orphaned Adobe Premiere Pro Processes

Has anyone seen the GUI in 8.0.1 or 8.1 get very slow and noticed that they had orphaned PR processes?
We've never had performance issues on our Windows 7 Pro, latest SP and updates, i7 920, 48 GB, Nvidia GTX 480 and LSI 9286cv-8e. I have the latest Pluraleyes and Neat Video plugin's. The sequence contains DV, Canon MXF and 5d Mark III files and we've been working on it for months. We added new MXF and mov clips last week and have been copying them into the sequence from a Pluraleyes synced one. The sequence is DV NTSC, 29.97. I've worked with Adobe support, Case: 186016889, for 7 hours over the last few days after we first experienced the slowdown and I had upgraded to 8.1 thinking it would fix the problem ( I didn't check the forum first -(   ). Adobe support had us clean the cache and rename %appdata%\Adobe\Premiere Pro and Libraries\Documents\Adobe directories to _old versions. No luck. I then removed and reinstalled 8.1 and finally today reinstalled 8.0.1, same problem.
The problem was intermittent and we finally realized there were 1+ orphaned processes when we looked in the Task Manager. No slowdown after killing the orphaned processes. I'm going to do more testing to see what sequence of events causes an orphaned process. I suspected and have read in other posts where this is happening when you work on another application, go back and close/reopen PR.
Hope someone has an answer. I've spent a good part of the day reviewing all the current posts and will attempt to get a repeatable case where the problem occurs and then deconstruct the sequence until it goes away.
    Thanks...

  • Premiere Pro 2.0 wont install on windows 7

I just installed windows 7 Pro, and am trying to install Premiere Pro 2.0 but it seems as though the cd drive won't even read the disc. It tries for a while then gives up, producing nothing. I got it to work ONCE and it seemed to go through all the normal setup procedures, including asking for my serial number, which I gave it. But at some point it got hung up, told me it couldn't install something then shut down without any explanation. There's no trace of any part of this program on the computer at all. I'm kind of stumped as to why this might be happening. Anyone have an idea?

1st, you are in the wrong forum, you need http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premierepro_previous?view=all
2nd, you are no longer able to register version 1.5 because the registration server is not working, you must obtain version 2
    CS2 Activation Server http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l
    From that link
Adobe has disabled the activation server for CS2 products, including Acrobat 7, because of a technical issue. These products were released more than seven years ago, do not run on many modern operating systems, and are no longer supported. Adobe strongly advises against running unsupported and outdated software. The serial numbers provided as a part of the download may only be used by customers who legitimately purchased CS2 or Acrobat 7 and need to maintain their current use of these products

  • How to better improve the playback efficiency of HD videos on Premiere Pro CC for low-end computers?

    Title explains it all really!
The playback of selected files on the upper left and right box are glitchy and slow when playing back, which makes it near impossible (or just really frustrating) to properly sync with other video clips and audio.
On lower-end video editing programs, the solution I made for this was applying Speed Change effect, but not adjusting the speed by keeping it at 100.
Details of my computer are : AMD E-350 Processor; 1.60 GHz, 3 GB RAM, Windows Vista 64bit
    Thanks in advance

Win7 64bit will use almost all of your 3Gig of ram to load, leaving almost nothing to run PPro

I don't use Vista, but I **think** I have read that an update is required to get CS3 to work with Vista
Check here, and read the update descriptions

I use English... so don't know about an Italian version update

    Hello,
I just went from a trial version to full membership but starting up Premiere Pro won't go further then the splash screen. The loading doesn't even start. I tried reinstalling Premiere, rebooting the Mac, logging in and out of CC, but nothing works.

To restore default preference settings, hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) while the application is starting. You can release the Alt key or Option key when the splash screen appears.

  • Premiere Pro cc won't publish working video...

I've added two videos .wmv files with small edits and am trying to export>media>wmv.. PP takes the time to encode but when finished the video doesn't work. Any ideas? The finished video will load in media player but immediately end.

This forum contains my exact issue: getting After Effects to recognize a codec; however, I am using premiere pro cc. It doesn't matter what settings I use, I have tried multiple in all have the same result, Media encoder or premiere pro cc will not complete the encoding process it will just fail. I have tried to change the original file to MOV and MP4, still doesn't work.

  • Premiere Pro & SpeedGrade CC keep crashing in Windows 8.1

I just bought a brand new MSI laptop with Windows 8.1 and installed the CC suite. Premiere Pro and SpeedGrade continually crash when I try to use them. Premiere Pro crashes almost every other time I open it. Once it is open it works fine, but almost every other time I start it, I have to close and reopen it. SpeedGrade does the same thing, except sometimes it crashes in the middle of using it, which is VERY frustrating. These are the only programs on my computer that give me problems. The programs are installed to the OS partition on an SSD drive. Below are the error messages I receive for both programs and a copy of my computers specs. Please help me!

I fixed my problem! No thanks to the non-existent adobe support team.. Hope this helps someone because you can be sure adobe isn't going to help your ***.
What happened? Did you contact support via Contact Customer Care ? Did you chat or talk with an agent over the phone? If so, please PM me the case number, I'll follow up with the agent to see why they weren't able to solve your case.

They can't even make working programs for even the most up to date OS. What a nightmare!
From your description, it sounded like it was a problem with your computer system, specifically your GPUs. What wasn't working from the application side?
Let me know so I can prevent problems in the future.
    Thanks,
    Kevin
