Premiere Pro Reinstallation Issues

I've recently uploaded Premiere Pro CC to my Mac. After battling with playback issues and the constant quitting and retrying to the program, I decided to reboot and to uninstall Premiere Pro in hopes that I can reinstall it. I try to reinstall the program and Adobe only shows (within the Home tab) that the program has been installed, and not uninstalled.
So in essence, how do I reinstall Premiere Pro CC?

  • Importing Photoshop files into premiere pro CS6 issues

    Hi
I recently re-installed Premiere Pro CS6 on my work computer (i changed from a HDD to an SSD). Ever since I did this I am having an issue importing .PSD files into Premiere.
I try and import a photoshop file. The importer window comes up. The progress bar starts to move, then pauses and the Importer says 'Not Responding'. After a few seconds it comes back and throws up the following error:
Error message - 'The importer reported a generic error'
All projects i previously worked on that had .PSD files in them are now reporting these files as 'Media Offline' meaning I have to replace them with .PNG files which is really annoying.
Any ideas what might be happening? The files I am trying to import are RGB .PSD's. They worked previously without any issues.
    I have Premiere Pro Version 6.0.5 (001 (MC: 264587))
running on a Windows 7 machine with Service Pack 1, 64 bit OS, 16GB Ram and Intel Core i7-2600
Many thanks in advance for anyone who can help me with this!

Yes, MXF should play perfectly in PP CS6, but if you can't work this out at this point, you may wrap your MXF video to something intermediate. as a matter of face, Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 seems to work fine if you import your MXF clips directly from a camera or camcorder, but if have already copied MXF recordings your HDD or you downloaded them from somewhere else, the import error may occur.
So i suggest you convert the MXF footage to something mezzanine we would recommend DNxHD.mov (if you are on a PC) or Apple ProRes .mov (if on a mac). those two intermediate codecs are good mezzanine codecs that handle recompression well and standup well in other areas of post-production (color grading, graphics, compositing, etc,). You can see what I wrote about the solution. "Why Premiere Pro CS6 can't import MXF files?" i hope that it is helpful to you.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 Issues with AJA and Black Magic

Has anyone had any issues outputting via AJA and Black Magic cards?
I have 3 Macs using Black Magic Intesnsity Pro HDMI cards and 1 Mac using an AJA IO Express. On all the machines, i get weird audio issues intermitantly. I press play, no audio comes out. I stop, press play again, no audio comes out but the PP VU meter is registering. I stop, and press play again, and i hear distortion coming from my speakers, i stop and play again, and everything is fine. These issues are consitantly happening, but not necisarily in that order. I also get out of sync audio, then stop and press play again, and its all good.
I fell as though i have narrowed it down to being between PP and the IO cards, because if i turn the cards off in PP, my audio is fine everytime.
I have the propper Premiere Pro drivers (for AJA) and all the latest firmware and drivers for black magic. I am playing Quicktime media, usually Apple Pro Res hq or 444. IO and data rate with same codecs works perfectly in FCP. I have also tried using media that is local as opposed to on our server.
Has anyone had issues with this? Is this a known bug with in PP? Will it ever get fixed???
    Thanks.

I have expereinced this issue on my Mac Pro right before I switched to a PC.
Call AJA Support. They are there to help you!

  • 2013 Mac Pro, 10.9.3/4 and Premiere Pro - GPU Issues

    Hello All
Since the introduction of Mavericks 10.9.3 and subsequently in 10.9.4, Apple Mac Pro (Late 2013 model) users have been affected with issues relating to video editing applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Da Vinci Resolve.  It appears that since these updates the compatibility with the AMD D500 or D700 GPUs is broken and causing significant workflow problems.
Some of these problems include (particularly that I have experienced):
White lines appearing on the video in the program window during playback and encoding
Green and Pink lines appearing as mentioned above
Other odd image artefacts during playback
Poor performance when playing any clips with GPU accelerated effects or parameters
Struggling to playback footage at full resolution (not 4K just HD material which shouldn't be a problem)
Freezing and crashing of the application
Slow loading of media and saving of projects
Consequently, this is significantly affecting my workflow and I know I am not the only video editor suffering these issues.  I have spoken to Adobe who are aware of the issue and say they are working with their partners to find a resolution.  I assume and hope that one of those partners is yourselves and implore you to please elevate this issue to a more serious status as it really is becoming highly frustrating and starting to effect my business.
I'd be interested to hear from other users that are experiencing these issues and hopefully together encourage Apple and Adobe to get their heads together and fix what is broken and fix it ASAP.  It isn't good enough that for a machine this pricey we are left out on a limb without an urgent fix being presented.
I hope we see a fix for this soon but failing that please make 10.9.2 available so we can at least roll back and become productive again.

  • Premiere Pro CC issues

I first started using Premiere Pro CC this past June and had no issues. Than I upgraded to the 2014 release. Big mistake! That upgrade does not work on Windows 7. Then I tried the latest update with the new interface tweaks hoping that would be the cure. The new update literately didn't function. So I went back to the pre-2014 version and it worked fine until lately. Now I have to constantly reboot to get video playback. I love other Adobe products but Adobe doesn't have a clue when it comes to pro video.  And yes, I have no viruses and my PC checks out just fine.
Can any body recommend a true pro editor for Windows 7. Or should I go with Avid? Or da Vinci resolve?

    Hello Rameez,
Thanks for the quick reply. I gave up on Premiere 8.1. I'm not sure what the issue is with that version but it's way to buggy and the latest update rendered it completely inoperable.
As I said in my last post, I went back to 7.2.2, which worked great before I upgraded to 8.2. But now it's having problems. Video playback and display randomly stops working. I have to relaunch the app to fix the problem which is very annoying.
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit on an Intel i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHZ PC computer
    16 GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti GPU
Please note that I set up separate folders for the media cache preview files so they would not mix with the 8.1 version files. I also noticed 8.1 is still on my computer. I thought it would be uninstalled when I reinstalled 7.2 from the CC app.
I'm thinking that I should do a complete uninstall of all my Adobe apps and do a clean reinstall?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Premiere Pro export issues. Unknown error messages, extremely slow export times, strange I/O & disk usage

    Hello,
I'm hoping I can start getting answers to some big issues I've been having running Premiere pro. I've had similar issues with CS6 but it seems like with CC and every recent update, the problem hasn't been resolved, its even worse.
The main issue I have is seeing the 'unknown error' message everytime I try to export a file. I'm working with RED footage. When I turn off the CUDA support, I can export without the error but my export time goes from a few minutes to sometimes hours in the render time!
I've looked through pages and pages of forums and there are so many people saying the same thing, with millions of opinions of what the problem is. Regardless, the only thing I tried that worked so far is turning off the CUDA support.
Now something I recently noticed, is that the difference isn't the GPU usage, I still show GPU being used at 500mb or 1gb out of the 2gb that it has (GTX 680)
The strange thing is without the mercury playback option, I'm seeing that disk usage and I/O go way down to kbs from a very high number. This would make sense why I'm seeing such huge changes in render times even though it still shows my 6 core CPU maxed out and ram over 40gb out of 64 that are installed.
Does anyone have a suggestion on what may be happening here? Its the only thing that has plagued my system using Premiere since day one and there seems to be no way around it..

Best way to get a real answer is go to the Tweaker's Page, download the most recent PPBM benchmark test, and run it. It's a folder that has a resource monitoring/logging program and a PrPro project with files that is short but HEAVY in effects, both AE and PrPro, so it tests all parts of a system's capabilities from disc in/out to GPU capability/use to CPU, fsb, RAM, you name it ... and after sending that back in you get a complete report on where your computer did well and what the choke-points were.
Also ... over on the Hardware forum is the place where the techies amongst us hang ...

  • Premiere  Pro CC issues downloading free trial

I am having problems downloading the free trial of Premiere Pro CC on my Intel based Mac.  It is 64 bit@

    Hi,
If you have issues downloading the trail for whatever reason, you can use the website from Prodesign tools:
Adobe CC 2014 Direct Download Links: Creative Cloud 2014 Release | ProDesignTools
They share all the direct links for downloading the Media. Once Downloaded (can even use this to download from another computer)
and then run the installer on the system you want to install.
    Hope this helps.

  • Premiere Pro Exporting Issues using ProRes LT

Using Premiere Pro CC and is currently up to date.  When exporting ProRes LT (1920X1080) I am getting constant glitches and purple/pink scan line across my footage.  This happens within the timeline and the export.  Raw footage is clean.  Footage shot on a Canon 5D Mark ii.  System:  Mac Pro (2013 - The trash can one), 3.5GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5, 64 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 ECC, AMD FirePro D500 3072MB, OSX 10.9.3.

    HI Tswbmatt,
It sounds like you are hitting the OS X 10.9.3 bug, corrupting exports with the Mercury Playback Engine (OpenCL). Usually, it's with H.264 exports, but I"m not surprised it affects other codecs too. I'll add that to the bug report.
You can change the Mercury Playback Engine to "Software Only" or roll back to OS X 10.9.2 to fix it.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Premiere Pro CS6 issue with AME/Dynamic Link

    Hello,
I'm having a quite frustrating problem with Premiere PRO CS6. Let me tell you my configuration first:
    Intel i7 860, 8Gb Ram, 2x1Tb HD in Raid 0, GeForce GTX570 Ti 2Gb DDR5, Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.
When I try to put in the AME's queue any Premiere's composition, I can see the window saying "Exporting...." but then nothing happens. AME doesn't start or, if it's already open, it doesn't receive anything on the queue.
I've tried to import the timeline's directly from AME, but it doesn't work either.
It has been a few days I'm fighting with this problem and I already have done this:
    1) Uninstall/Clean Install all the software inside the Creative Cloud subscription and all updates applied.
    2) clean any preset both in Premiere and AME by keeping down Alt+Shift when starting the applications.
    3) disable/enable antivirus software (Microsoft Security Essentials) and firewall (default windows 7 firewall).
    4) disable/enable the CUDA Mercury engine.
None of this solved the problem.
However I've noticed that each time I try to send something from Premiere to AME appears a general error in notifications saying just "invalid menu operation".
Since, as I've said, I tried also a clean installation, right now I'm really out of options and I would really appreciate any suggestion how to fix this problem. Thanks.
    Martin

That has solved a few annoying Dynamic Link problems for me.
As a point of interest, the connection between Premiere Pro and AME isn't a Dynamic Link.  It's more of a 'static' link.  The point of a Dynamic Link is that any changes made in the original program will show up in the secondary program.  That does not happen here.  The sequence is 'saved' from PP as it is at the time the export is started and AME works off of that saved sequence.  Changes made after that do not show up in AME automatically.
So whatever the error, it is not related to Dynamic Link.

  • Windows 7 X64 & Premiere pro CS4 issues

    Hi All,
I have a Dell Precision 690 with a clean install of Windows 7 X64 and a new (1st time) install of Production Suite CS3 (excluding Premeiere Pro CS3 and Encore CS3) and a new (1st time) install of Premiere Pro CS4 with Encore CS4.
After starting a new HD project (1920 x 1080 29.98) if I try to open any (old or new) sequence, the program does a "serious error" hicup and has to shut down.
Everytime I run Premiere Pro CS4 and try to load a project previously saved to the raid array that was created under XP Pro 32bit (previous life) I get this message saying that the scratch discs are write protected and would I like to change to the default (C drive) location for scratch discs. Within the original project the scartch disc was the external raid array. I can access that raid no problem from windows explorer and read and write to it.  Also all the clips within the project are read from the raid so I don't get it. Anyone come across anything like this before?

try opening the project, clicking OK when it tells you that the scratches are write protected, and then when it opens, go to the top menu bar and click Project > project settings > Scratch discs  and re-point your scratches to the location you want them.  Save, and you should be good to go.

  • Premiere Pro Download issues

    Hello,
I am a CC member and have used Dreamweaver on my PC downloaded from the CC manager. When I try to get Premiere Pro it is not available in the cloud manager tool on my PC, yet on the download centre in my account it has the link to download.
Do I have access to Premiere Pro in my CC account, and if so, why isnt it available in the CC manager on my desktop?
    Thanks for your assistance.

Your system does not meet the requirements. the locally installed CC app knows, but of course the web version can't.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 issues with .MOV files

I am having problems with .MOV files from my Nikon 5100.
They play very choppy.  Multicam REALLY has issues with the .MOV files as it will play ten frames and freeze.  Usually crashing Premiere altogether.
Anyone know how to optimize my system to play these .MOV files so the can be worked with?  I've updated my videocard firmware and Quicktime.

Anyone know how to optimize my system to play these .MOV files so the can be worked with?
The logical steps would probably be:
    Get a better PC
Don't use QuiRcktime but rename the .MOV file to .MPG
Tune your system. Also for Win7: Adobe Forums: Guide for installing and tuning a Vista...

  • Xml from FCP 7 to Premiere Pro CC issues

FCP 7 project exported using XML (no items highlighted in FCP) and imported into Premiere. All sequences and bins etc "seemed" to transfer fine. HOWEVER, some of the bins/folders that were transfered did not contain all of the clips as the original.  Best I can tell, any "copies" of a clip that may be in another bin WILL NOT TRANSFER.  Even though the XML file shows a certain clip listed, if it is a copy of a clip already in the project- Premiere will not import it. Needless to say, this has been a real head scratcher. Anybody have a similar experience?

Okay, after trying both steps in the document above, the missing codecs/preview presets still aren't available when I go to File>New>Sequence. I guess that's the only way to check if they have installed correctly/activated correctly right? It says it's correctly activated though so not sure why it's doing this.
Are these presets also missing in the trial verison of the software?

  • Premiere Pro CS3 Issue- Cross Dissolve Transition creates random frame insert

    Hello,
I have had this issue for a long time, and whenever I render a cross dissolve transition, once in a while, it inserts a random frame from either the prior or latter clips that I apply the transition effect to.
I don't know how to solve this issue and could use help as soon as possible.
    Thank you,
    Th3On3Fr33man

    I agree with Harm.
This happens when one does not have enough Frames (Handles), beyond the Out-Point, or before the In-Point, to accommodate the Duration of the Transition.
For some more info on Handles, these might be useful:
In the days of A-B Roll editing, or with film, Handles were an easy concept to grasp. With current NLE's, it's more abstract.
Good luck, and do not forget to read through the Help files. In the days of manuals, this concept was covered pretty well. Curt Wrigley covers it in his Classroom in a Book PrPro.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 Issue with nVidia 182.50 GeForce Driver?

I recently updated the driver for the GeForce 8800GTS on my other editing workstation because it would sometimes BSOD when preparing to standby with a fault in the nvidia minidriver being reported. I updated to the current version as of today, 182.50 from nVidia's own web site.
After the driver update, I could swear I am seeing more frequent lockups of Premiere when jumping from clip to clip on a timeline of many clips. I can jump maybe half a dozen times and then Premiere will stop responding. Task Manager reports Monitor.exe 'not responding' and a few seconds later, Premiere.exe stops responding and I have to kill the app and start over. I can get it to hang within 20 seconds by just paging down through a few clips on the timeline now. The problem has existed prior, but usually after flipping though several dozen clips, not just a half dozen.
Is anyone noticing problems with more frequent lockups with the 182.50 driver?

Hi Mark I'm running the 182.50 no problem now! I was having problems moving clips as the timeline would double in size and distort and not run correctly. The way I solved it was to to tick "disable display scaling on high DPI settings" in the compatibility section of the Premiere CS3 properties (right click on the icon for CS3 and then choose properties) this may help because with a 30" screen you're sure to have a high DPI setting.
