Premiere Pro "renders[ing] required files" after making a cut

Premiere Pro decides to render every time I attempt to play the sequence after making a cut. 1 This only happens when I've made a cut. 2 This only happens (after making a cut) when I attempt to play. 3 Premiere Pro has not done this before.
Thank you in advance

The media matches the sequence settings. In the past I have found that even if it doesn't match the sequence settings it still wouldn't do this.

  • Project Bloating and Repair in Premiere Pro CS6; Max Project File Size? Adobe Coders Welcome...

    Greetings.
After a few browsing sessions, I haven't found direction for a specific problem within a project bloat. First and foremost; we're always backed up. I have a restoration copy of the project that I will reference herein. Check that off the list.
Numerous people have posted here and around Creative Cow with problems regarding an expanding file size using CS6; watching files go from 300mb to 2.8gb. The unfortunate problem is when the project crosses a magical line that results in an inablity to open, import, export, or access sequences contained therein. Has anyone addressed a solution to repairing Premiere CS6 save files? Reducing file bloat? I haven't seen anything (recall the FCP7 repair days... solutions existed because problems were frequent; thankfully not so bad with Adobe).
Does anyone inside the code size know the maximum project file size that Premiere can read? I created a monster... Over 200 sequences utilizing 4.5TB of footage, stretching from Red codecs to EXCam to MPEG4 and H264. And for some time, the project size was manageable. Then, it inflated. And one day, randomly stopped opening. None of the auto-saves open.
Just curious. Files aren't the problem, but the 2.8GB save file is. Machine specs // etc. are openly available if required; no bad ram, no problems with all projects (just this one beast).
    Cheers,
    Jon Michael Ryan

  • Importing Premiere Pro 1.5 project into After Effects 5.5?

I tried unsuccessfully to import a Premiere Pro 1.5 project into After Effects 5.5, so am guessing the two programs are not compatible. Which version of AE would I need in order to make this work?

Well, only logical - AE 5.5 is 2 years, before PremierePro 1.0 even existed, so it wouldn't know anything about the file format. At least CS is required, meaning AE 6.5.

  • "Premiere Pro stores the preview files in a folder you can specify" But how?

    Specifying a Preview folder
On page 265 of the PDF it states:
Premiere Pro stores the preview files in a folder you can specify.
    QUES 1
But how do you specify the folder? I just rendered a test clip and was not offered the option of specifying a folder. And there is no other mention of preview folders in the PDF.
    Preview Files for Encoding
    On the same page is:
Note: Adobe Media Encoder does not automatically use Premiere Pro preview files for encoding. To make use of the Premiere Pro preview files, you must select the Use Previews option in Adobe Media Encoder for each encoding process.
It is not clear from the PDF what is the quality of these preview files.
    QUES 2
If I select the Use Previews option when exporting, aren't I degrading the quality of the export by encoding from an already encoded preview?
    QUES 3
For the absolute best quality, should Use Previews be turned off?

Preview File location is determined in the overall Project Settings.
Set this location before you render any Preview Files.
Project > Project Settings > Scratch Disks...
Some documentation regarding the Scratch Disk location is buried here:
Specify scratch disks to improve system performance
    QUES 2
If I select the Use Previews option when exporting, aren't I degrading the quality of the export by encoding from an already encoded preview?
In most (if not all) cases... yes.
Previews are intended for real-time playback in the Timeline only.
You should not use previews for export.*
    QUES 3
For the absolute best quality, should Use Previews be turned off?
    Yes!
*There are a few semi-obscure exceptions to this general rule.

  • Premiere Pro CS6, large project file size - crashing etc

Working on a project in Premiere Pro CS6 - also incorporating after effects and using 2 external plugins (Beauty Box and Factory Pro FX).  Project is over 500MB, lots of comps, titles etc.  project seems to be corrupt on my machine. .The project crashes continually. I cannot save my work, I cannot export, I cannot create XML and media is linking incorrectly.  When I pull the project in on my laptop (separate machine) which has CC 2014 running, the project is FINE.  That said - I need to work off of the more powerful machine to do this job - so need to find a way to troubleshoot.  Note - project opens on my partner's machine, she can save + export, etc - however the media in still linking incorrectly on her machine as well (note partner does not have the 2 plugins, beauty box and factory Pro FX) - that said, it still links to the wrong media.
We have worked out a work-arond where we pull all of the AE sequences out of Premiere and into separate AE project which has made the project workable again but we know something is WRONG and we need to fix for future ASAP.
    please help!
    thank you

  • MacBook Pro with SSD that has a limited disk space (120GB). Rendering in Project File (User/Movies/Final Cut Projects), it takes huge space and the limited disk space would not be enough for the whole editing.

I'm using MacBook Pro with 128GB SSD that has a limited disk space. As we know, when rendering in Project File (User/Movies/Final Cut Projects), it takes huge space and the limited disk space would not be enough for the whole editing.
My question is, Is there any method to get the rendering Projects file saved into an external hard drive which is connected with USB/ Thunderbolt/ Firewire, with huge disk space (eg. 500GB HDD).
Now, new project created in my Mac is automatically saved in (User/Movies/Final Cut Projects) and my Mac has ran out of space to hold the files.
    Thank you.

You have at least 3 different ways to show the project library:
    1) Go to WIndow->Show Project Library
    2) Click the button in bottom left of your window:
    3) Hit the keyboard shortcut (Command-0)
The project library will be shown, occupying the area where the timeline usually is.
Your hard disks will be visible. Click the hard disk where you want the new project to reside and hit Cmd-N to create a new project.

  • Premiere Pro CC Capturing All Files as MP3

I have Premiere Pro CC My capture files are being imported as mp3 files. I have a macbook pro which I am having problems with and I have access to an IMac and the IMac with the same Premiere Pro CC software gives me zero problems. I'm not sure what else to change because simply changing the file name to mpeg or I saw online about an m2ts (I copied it right when I did it) file but that didn't work either. Any suggestions??

Please see this link for possible solutions:

Also, others have found success changing the mp3 files extension from .mp3 to .mpeg or m2ts.

  • Forcing Premiere Pro CS6 to Index Files.

The search bar is greyed out in the Project Panel in Premiere Pro CS6. Above the search box it says (Items to index 12). How do I get Premiere Pro CS6 to index files?

I ended up closing the Premiere and re-opening it and that prompted it to index everything. My co-worker had a few pieces of media whose link was broken because she had moved the files. She had to re-link those files to get Premiere to re-index.
    Hope that helps

  • The timeline stops unexpectedly in both Premiere Pro CS5 and Encore even after rendering.

I have 16 GB of RAM and a Z77X-UP4TH Gigabyte motherboard.  Once I received a message that my RAM was almost all used up.  How is that possible for a 7 minute video.  I tried deleting photoshop pictures from Photoshop that I use in the video and the history of undo's in Premiere Pro.  This has occurred on separate Premiere Pro projects usually about 3/4 through the timeline.  It usually only does it once and always at the same place.  I even tried replacing with different video but it still stops.

I just wanted to thank you Jim for all the time you spent with me trying to solve my problem.  This morning I got in touch with Adobe and the service technition solved my problem.  There were two problems, here is what he did.  Please follow the steps to fix the crash issue or a playback issue:  Go to start/search program box, type %appdata% and then got to roaming folder/adobe/premiere pro/5.0 and rename it as 5.0. Then re-launch and check.  He said sometimes microsoft updates mess up the preferences and therefore you must rename the file to reset the preferences.  The second problem was that I needed to empty the media cache after long projects. He told me to try cleaning media cache in edit/preferences/media and clean media cache files.  It's running well now. But once again I appreciate your help.  Thanks Jim.

  • New PC build for After Effects, C4D, Premiere Pro (no gaming required)

Hi all, i'm getting a new PC together for a friend of mine, i'd like to get help on a few things, here is what i have at this point :
    CPU : Intel 5820K 3.3ghz 6-core i7
    MB : ???? unsure
    RAM : Crucial 32gb (4x8 gigabytes) DDR4
    GPU : GTX 970
SSD : 256GB Crucial SSD ***already owned
    HD : 1x2TB + 1x3TB ***already owned
Case : Cooler Master ATX case ***already owned, unsure which model, but looks like the 932
Power Supply : see below (Corsair TX650)
Ok as you can see some parts will be used from the old computer that's being upgraded, mostly the drives but also the case. Unsure whether she should get a a new cooling system and power supply with this build, the present power supply is a Corsair TX650, it's about 2.5 years old.
As for the video card, the GTX 970 is not out yet but she'll be using her old GTS 450 in the meantime.
From what i've read, for C4D and After Effects, CPU and RAM are the priority, but Premiere Pro makes use of the GPU. So the system here tends to put a bit more budget on the CPU and RAM side.
There's about 300-400 left for budget, what Motherboard should we get ?? They all have similar features but very different prices so are the price differences due only to the build quality ?

I found this post which is quite reassuring: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/959855
"I just installed the GTX 970 into my Adobe CC environment.
INCREDIBLE. I created a 4096 sequence, scaled up a 1080 clip to full screen, applied Gaussian blur, Noise, and rotated it on two 3D axes (keyframed), with color correction....
It played back fullscreen, full speed, no dropped frames, and the GPU load never even broke a sweat beyond 19%.
My previous card was a GTX 560 SE. This is not an upgrade, it is a paradigm shift.
Premiere accepted the card after the polite "Enable this unsupported GPU" notice.
Exports (at least to H.264) are taking the card up to about 76%."

  • Premiere Pro CS3 - Preset & Media File Questions

Volunteered to create a high school football highlight video using Premiere Pro CS3 on a Mac.  The video will be shown in a banquet hall using a NEC projector attached to the ceiling.  The hall owner doesn't have any info on the projector, so I don't know its native resolution or any other specs.  The screen is standard size.
I'm being given a potpourri of media:
    1)  The team's game DVDs shot from the press box.  MPEG Streamclip shows the VOBs have these properties:  720 × 480, 4:3, 29.97 fps, 9.30 Mbps, upper field first - 128 AC3 2/0, 48 kHz, 256 kbps.  Right or wrong, I converted the VOBs to dv files for import into PP with these properties: DV/DVCPRO - NTSC, 720 × 480, 4:3, 29.97 fps, 28.77 Mbps - DV stereo, 48 kHz, 28.77 Mbps.
    2)  Field level video taken with a Canon HV30 (HD, wide screen).  The files I've been given are:  Apple Intermediate Codec, 960 × 540, 29.97 fps, 30.09 Mbps - 16-bit Big Endian stereo, 48 kHz, 1.54 Mbps.  I could ask to have these files recaptured as SD files.
    3)  Many side line photos (TIFFs) taken with a Canon 30D.
After editing the project, I was planning on exporting the final video/audio as a mov file to be played from my lap top hard drive rather than from a DVD.  Not sure about the export settings to do this for best quality.
But first, which PP preset should I use for this project, or should I use custom settings?  If so, what should they be?
Have I converted the VOBs to the proper format?
Should I recapture the HV30 footage or convert it to another format?
I have the photos in Lightroom and can export them as TIFFs, JPEGs, PSDs or DNGs and can resize them down if necessary.  Any suggestions?
Finally, I was thinking of converting the background music from mp3s to aif files at 48 kHz, 16-bit to be consistent across the different audio files.  Any suggestions with the audio?
Any thoughts or suggestions on these issues would be most appreciated.  If the answers to these questions hinge on the projector type, I may have to wing it....or buy my own projector.  Ouch.
Sorry for the length of this post.

I recommend setting up a 720x480 4:3 project.  At the very least, have
them recapture the #2 video files as widescreen SD.  (I'll refrain from
making any comments about the usefulness of AIC at half-HD)  The
recaptured widescreen SD files will end up letterboxed in your 4:3
timeline.  Your other choice would be to set up a 720x480 16:9 project,
but that would end up pillarboxing the 4:3 footage.  Your choice.
I think you did a fine job converting the VOBs.
Resize the images in Photoshop.  Get them as close to 720x480 as you
can, adjusting that upward to account for any panning and zooming that
you might want to do.  But don't increase the size any more than you
have to.  You definitely want to avoid working with huge frame-size
    images in Pr.
48k 16-bit stereo audio should work just fine.
You should find out the native resolution of the projector, and whether
or not it has an internal scaler.

  • Problems with Premiere Pro 2.0:  sound lost after clip pasting

To integrate small projects to one bigger Project, it used to work well with Premiere Pro 1.5 in the following way: import small projects into the main sequence of the new project and, in parallel, copy the clips from the timeline of the small projects and past them into the timeline of the new project. However, I am encountering the following problems while trying to do the same thing with Premiere Pro 2.0:
    ·        Video and sound of every pasted clip becomes unlinked.
    ·        Although the sound was there (also shows in the wave view) right after the pasting and it can be rendered, but the audio Information gets lost as soon as I exit the new project (saved beforehand). If I re-open this new project, although the timeline shows all the pasted sound clips, but there is information in them - no sound (the wave views show only straight lines).
    ·        As well, some of the video and audio effect settings get lost (e.g. cross fading), but the effects such as brightness and contrast settings always remain.
    ·        At least one thing seems to be sure: the imported files themselves are ok. Newly created clips in the timeline from those imported files (dragged into the timeline) are fine - no information lost.
All tips are great helps. Thanks in advance.

    I got it!
Though not described in the English HELP, but in the German HELP: I have to press the Shift and T Keys. It works in my case with the following steps:
    1.     Mark the corresponding audio and video tracks
    2.     Put CTI over the clip
    3.     Press shift + T
    4.     Double click the clip
    5.     Eventually I have to repeat and press the keys shift +T again.
Thanks a lot once more for all of the hints and the detailed explanations. It is indeed a great help. I really appreciate it very much.
