Premiere Pro won't save my project

My project has been working fine up until a while ago when I tried to save it and the loading bar came up but the yellow loader wouldn't move. It won't save my project and when I click cancel the Premiere Pro simply freezes and then I have to force quit. How do I save my project??

It sounds like you're not doing this correctly.
1. CLOSE Premiere Pro entirely.  All projects.  The entire Premiere Pro program.  Close it down.  Completely.  Maybe even restart the computer to make sure that Premiere is NOT running.
2. Now, Hold down the Shift+Option keys.  Make sure you hold them both down at the same time.  You can hold down Shift, first, or you can hold down Option, first, but whatever you do keep holding them down.  Together.  Keep holding them down.
3. WHILE  you're STILL holding down the Shift+Option keys, open Premiere Pro.  You can open Premiere Pro any way you wish, just make sure that when you do, you're STILL HOLDING down the Shift AND Option keys.  Keep them held down while Premiere opens.
When Premiere opens do you see any of your recent projects in the recent projects list?  If you don't, then you've successfully trashed your preferences.

If anyone has any advice I'd be very grateful.

  • QT Pro won't save

HI QT Pro won't save any video from the internet also Safari won't open the web site Panoramio.com, I think it may be some thing to do with the last upgrade to my system I am now running OS 10.4.10?
    George

No joy for me either, since you didn't answer my last question.
If I don't know what you have tried to verify that your OS & file system are in good shape, I can't help you.
FWIW, my OS started acting weird a couple of days ago. Not with your problem but with assorted little oddities. I began to realize something wasn't right so I ran the "Verify Disk" check in Disk Utilities. Sure enough, there was some minor damage it found. I could have attributed this to an update performed about the same time, but then I remembered the power failed briefly at about the same time, while the Mac was in sleep mode. Although it has never happened to me before, this is a known cause of file system corruption.
    Repairing it ended my problems.

  • Will the new premiere pro edit and save changes to avchd losslessly?

    Hi,
I want to buy a new premiere elements to replace my old one (vrsn 3), can I upgrade it still or is it too old? Or should I still stick to Premiere elements?
Also, will the new premiere pro edit and save changes to avchd files from Panasonic and Canon without losing any quality?
I came across 'provides native support for avchd'; what does it mean? Does it mean that I can edit and save avchd files with out losing quality?
    Thanks,

  • Premiere Pro won't Quit or Close a Project (Mac)

    Hello,
This only affects a specific user account. Premiere Pro CS6 won't quit or close a project--nothing happens. Haven't been able to figure out what the cause is. I've tried blowing away the user's preferences.
What other local user files does Premiere screw with that could cause this behavior?
    Cheers,
    Casey

one more thing, this could be helpful if anyone else is running the same problem.
I found that if you save the encoder queue and close the encoder, then you can close the premiere project without crashing premiere.
but also found that AE does exactly the same, if you are editing a AE link comp you will need to close and quit after effects before changing premiere project

  • Why do I get a Premiere Pro CS4 symbol in the project folder when I save a CC-project?

When I save a project edited with Premiere Pro CC in the project folder I get a symbol for Premiere Pro CS4  instead ot getting the CC-symbol. I can't open the CC-project by clicking the CS4-symbol. Why?

I found out myself that you can choose in the project folder if you want to save the project in CS4 or CC. Sorry I took your time with my problem.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 button Save Project on keyboard?

    Hi,
Is there a button on the keyboard (Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 - Wireless Slim Line Keyboard) to save the project likes (CTRL+S) while you edit?
    Thanks Koos_w.

    Hi,
To my knowledge, the editing keyboards don't add special hotkeys - rather, the normal keyboard shortcuts are simply printed ON the keys, and color-coded.
So to answer the question, yes, there is a "Save Project" and it is CTRL+S, as you already know
    Thanks

  • Premiere Pro won't play media intermittently in Yosemite

    Hello all,
I have a Premiere Pro CC 2014 (2014.1 Release, the latest one) installed on Yosemite 10.10.
It's running on a  Macbook Pro (Early 2011 model) with 16gb of RAM, 512GB SSD, 1TB HDD, AMD Radeon 6750 Card with 1GB of RAM.
On Mavericks 10.9.5 it all ran perfectly.
On Yosemite I have intermittent problem with media playing.
After a restart if I open Premiere Pro and open any of my projects it will say media loaded, however it won't play it. If you hit play nothing happens. The videos won't show either in source window or timeline. Quitting the program results in a hang. I have to force quit the application and than I get an error Premiere Pro encountered a serious error. Upon second program open, the media will work fine and everything will work fine. That's until I turn off the computer or restart it and than it's over again. I have to open the program, force quit it and only than it will work.
I cleared Premiere's preferences, caches, moved media to a different drive, reinstalled Premiere Pro and even clean installed the operating system. The problem persists.
What's interesting is that if I open Premiere after a restart and start a NEW project, import the media and start editing, it will work. When I save it and quit and than open the program again it will show the same problem and I'll have to force quit it after which it will work again.
The only plugin I have is Neat Video 3.6.
This problem is really annoying and I hope someone can help me solve it out.
    All best,
    Goran

    Hi CopyCatFilms,
Shouldn't Adobe be the one updating to account for video card driver changes?  I thought that was the benefit of paying monthly?
We test all GPUs with current drivers, but new drivers can come out faster than releases of Premiere Pro. Also, we can't update Premiere Pro every time there is a driver update. That would be pretty difficult to pull off. Sorry.
If not, please advise on which NVIDIA graphics driver will actually work with PrPro. Because this is NOT working. Currently running: CUDA Driver Version: 6.5.45
Typically, we recommend that you install the latest drivers for your GPU. It sounds like you have done so. Most people are having best success with these drivers on systems running OS X 10.10.2. Are you updated to that version?
It renders out complete videos with weird pixel bugs across them.
When did it start behaving this way? After installing the new drivers? After updating OS X? After updating a Premiere Pro project from Premiere Pro CC 2014.1 (8.1) to Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 (8.2)? We need more info to assist you: FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?
Not to mention, it crashes 10 times a day...running back to FCPX.
If you're crashing that many times per day, you should troubleshoot your system with our agents. Contact them M-F 7AM-7PM PST. Ask for the "video queue." You can either chat or get a phone call going: Contact Customer Care
The other possibility is that by updating OS X, you may have changed the read write permissions of crucial Adobe folders. See this article for an explanation and a potential fix:
Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later)
I also recommend the following steps for Mac users having trouble crashing on Mavericks or Yosemite:
Sign out from Creative Cloud, restart Premiere Pro, then sign in
    Update any GPU drivers
    Trash preferences
    Delete media cache
    Delete preview files
    Remove plug-ins
If you have AMD GPUs, make sure CUDA is not installed
    Repair permissions
In Sequence Settings > Video Previews, change the codec to one that matches your footage
    Disconnect any third party hardware
If you have a CUDA GPU, ensure that the Mercury Playback Engine is set to CUDA, not OpenCL
    Disable App Nap
    Reboot
Let us know if any of these steps worked for you.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Premiere Pro won't shut down

    Hi,
The problem is that Premiere Pro Cs6 won't shut down or close a project and must be force quit. It will also now allow me to open two projects at once (which can happen when one project fails to close.) However, this quickly leads to a crash.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
It emerged suddenly, right after fixing a problem with a serial number conlfict for Red Giant Color Suite. We repaired the preferences and reinstalled the Red Giant plug, but then the problem emerged. My feeling is it's related. Some kind of goofed up preferences, but how to fix?
    Thanks for any help.
    Carolyn

Now I find that out. I upgraded to Maverick after we
uninstalled/reinstalled. What fresh hell can I look forward to? I'm getting
to the point where I would rather amputate a body part than update my
    software.
All joking aside, should I uninstall/reinstall again?
Right now, my workflow is to save a dated version (save as: name-date)
before I close the project, which i then do by force quitting. It crashes
and my file is saved as a recovery.  My theory is that if my recovery file
gets corrupted, I have the most recent save-as version to go back to. God
willing and the creek don't rise, I can go on indefinitely this way, no?

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CC does not open project - just hangs, no error message

I've just finished editing a project in PP CC, saved it, then tried to reopen it and the program shows a blank page, then hangs.  I get no error message.
The project is based off a PP 5.5 timeline.  It updates fine (and in fact I can open and convert the original timeline with no problem).  However, once I close the new version and try to reopen, this symptom occurs.
I have updated my Creative Cloud software and it shows the Premiere Pro is up to date.
My computer is an ASUS laptop running Windows 8.1 Pro
    i5 processor
    8GB RAM
    NVidea Geforce 610M+2GB graphics card
Need help as I have to have this project output and uploaded by 8am tomorrow.

This is a follow up to my original post and follow up.  I've now seen this issue several more times and realize it was not an issue with my USB drive.  It is an issue with the Dynamic Linking in Premiere.  I consider this a MAJOR BUG, so please note what I've found if you have an issue with archiving or opening projects done with previous versions of PP.
The issue I've found is that Premiere seems to lock up trying to find dead media links.  If you've archived a project or moved files from their original position, Premiere CC cannot seem to find them.  The result is not a system hang up, but just a blank screen.  In some cases, after leaving it for a couple hours it found the media and continued.
I've had a similar issue when trying to link 'dead' media with the actual files.  The system goes off into neverland.
The work around I've found is to import the older jobs into a new Premiere CC project.  At that point, replace any dead links (do NOT try and find the media as you'll be lost in hangupville) by importing the media again and replacing the clip in the sequence with the new import from the bin.  Once all your media is 'live', remove any unused media from the project and confirm there are no 'dead' links (you can look at the media icon and notice a ? if they are not dynamically linked properly).  Manually clear any remaining unlinked media.  Save the project.
I have started to use Project Manager to archive all Premiere projects when moving them from one server to another.
This is a total pain in the @ss, and nothing I've seen before Creative Cloud.  I hope that Adobe gets this resolved or I may consider dropping my subscriptions completely.  That is a huge investment, but this type of issue is too much trouble to manage for a small production company.
I welcome any other thoughts, fixes, or comments.

  • RED FRAMES ON PREMIERE PRO 8.1 CARAVAN ON PROJECTS THAT WERE FINE BEFORE

I am having this RED FRAMES issue now, never heard of this problem until now. And its happening inside projects that had been ok since a few months back when I finish them. I just went in to export again some of the sequences and now the red frames are all over like a plague. Its Canon footage from an XF300. Ive deleted media cache files, digital rebellion house clean, and now that I want to restart premiere it keeps on crashing while loading the media files, I relaunch again and it loads some more files a bit further until if finally stops crashing after 3 -4 times. I tried then the solution that somebody stated: offline clips, delete media cache, save project, close project, link again, and the red frames were gone from the timeline, but they did show up in the exported movie!! I need to deliver this to client this Monday!! Is there any fix to this? I been using this project for a few months exporting movies with no problem until now, but I haven't changed anything in the project. What caused it? What should I do to fix this asap. Please help! Im running of Premiere Pro 8.1 Caravan OSX 10.9.2 I need to deliver movie to client asap im pulling my hair.

    Hi Somu cena,

  • Premiere Pro CC freezes after opening project. "Media Pending"

So I'm editing a music video I filmed with a Canon 60D, 1080p 23.976 fps, and i was chopping and layering clips that had not yet been rendered for the colour correction done on them, which was a slow process. (I have a mid 2010 mac book pro with an upgrade to SSD's and 8GB of ram, 2.4GHz Intel Core i5, and NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256MB, running os 10.9.2).
ANYWAY, I had to save and close it without rendering it yet and whenever I try and open it again, it opens the project, but then freezes and I get the spinning beachball of doom. I can see the sequence and all the edits that I had done, but the program window is yellow and says "Media Pending". I have to force quit to get out of it because it always says Premiere Pro CC is not responding. This does NOT happen with any of my other projects. This particular project is not crazy huge, but it's larger than my other projects which are few and it's certainly enough to make my macbook cry. I will be very grateful for any help.
