Premiere startup not working

I just installed Premiere CS6 fresh from the creative cloud. It downloaded and installed fine. I opened it once, and then the successive times after that, the startup screen would freeze while loading the scripts. Since then, I have uninstalled ALL adobe products, and restarted from scratch. Now, it is showing as installed on my laptop, but once again it won't load past the initial script startup screen. It frequently freezes until it's telling me to close the program since it's not responding.
I don't think it's a problem with my laptop since I have an xps 15 I just got about 6 months ago, and all the drivers and utilities are up to date.
Any ideas?

An update. I had previously installed Photoshop and other CS6 programs, and all of them worked fine as well. This last time, I only installed Premiere, and I noticed that it kept stalling at the launch menu under the "quicktime" file. Not sure if that suggests it's looking for something that isn't there, but there's also no error message that occurs, must merely a frozen launch screen and it frosts over as if stalling.
After that failed, I uninstalled CS6, and tried my earlier version of CS5, which seemed to stall at the same quicktimepost.pm file. I'm not sure how to gauge whether this is the corrupted file or what.

You mentioning the psa.prf file helped me in googling the steps you mentioned for other users on the forum, so thanks for that.
Also your direct download link was helpful, as the package is not able to update from the help/update function.
Any idea why the update functionality is not working properly?
I still need another update for camera raw, for both photoshop and premiere. I found links for direct dowloads for versions 6.5 and 6.6. Also the direct links end in a crash, see attachment.
Do you have suggestions?

Great news. Great job in working through the details to get to the solution.
I was waiting for more information from you so that I could give you version specific information on the how to.
But you seemed to have found the paths needed without supplemental instructions.
The two major troubleshooting tools that I would use when the Elements Organizer is involved
a. delete the psa.prf file
and/or
b. create a new catalog.
Best wishes as you move forward in your Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 projects.
By the way, if you are not working from the 9.0.1 Update, good idea to do that.

You can do that update with the program closed....do not bother with Help Menu/Update for this update. Use the link instead.

Installation Adobe Premiere Elements not working

I'm trying to install the Adobe Premiere Elements 13 but it's not working. I downloaded the file for the trial version, after downloading i also had to download something called Akamai netsession Client ? I dont know what it is, but i installed it as well. But everytime i want to open the setup it says that an error occurred. I cannot open adobe premiere elements, what should i do? i did the installation 4 times now, it's still not working

Bin soeben beim Installieren. Falls mal jemand das selbe Problem haben sollte... nach Installation von SP2 für Vista (dachte ich hätte das schon gehabt) und Benutzung der selben CD wie für die Installation von PSE 8 funzt es nun... Darauf muss man erstmal kommen... 2 Programme, 2 CD`s die Beide gleich aussehen... und da soll man 2 Mal die Selbe nehmen... egaaal.
Thread könnt ihr, wenn ihr wollt schliessen.

Focusrite USB 2.0 Audio Driver Scarlett 2i2 in Premiere CC2014 not working

Hi everybody.
I just recently upgraded to CC and cannot use my Audio Interface with it.
Info:
i7
Windows 7 Ultimate
Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, drivers up to date
Premiere Pro CC 2014 up do date
GeForce GTX Titan
In CS6 i have set the audio hardware to Focusrite USB 2.0 Audio Driver.
ASIO Settings:
Buffer length 10
In Latency is 19,6
Out latency is 28,9
Sample Rate 48000
...and it works like a charm.
In CC 2014 however, i can only use Premiere WDM sound.
If i choose the Focusrite, my sequence won't play. I can still scrub but with no audio.
Also recording does not work.
I often have to punch in layout-voiceovers for timing and need this to work, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am using this setup in CS6 and it works great but could not get it to work with CC. So i can't just settle with "skip any type of USB audio".
Anyway, i figured it out:
I chose Premiere Pro WDM sound instead of the scarlett and in the ASIO settings chose the Scralett as input. works just how it's supposed to now.

Premiere transitions not working

I imported a Premier project file into the AE file. Everything works great but I don't see transition is working.
How can I enable those transition effects?

What are you trying to do?
The normal workflow is to only work on a single piece at a time in After Effects and then do your cutting and transitions in Premiere Pro.

Automatic startup not working

Hi !
I have a problem I never encountered before. At a customers site
they have installed an Oracle8i (8.1.7) on a W2K/SP2 server
machine. The services startup automatically, but the instance
ist not started. Maybe they messed something up during install.
On my laptop I have nearly the same configuration, but a soon as
I start the services using net start, the database is also
mounted and online and I'm able to connect.
Any tips for me ?

I've seen that a lot, after a time (days or weeks) the auto
start stops working.
I have never explained it and Oracle plain refuses to believe
the problem exists. They say I have messed up the install and
suggest a re-install.
This is a real issue but I do not know what causes it. The only
solution I have found is a re-install. The official way to autostart the db is the registry key
'AUTOMATIC...)=true.
But as you know windows does not work always as designed, I
think that Oracle is not able to locate the problem why some
installations work not correctly.

Premiere does not work with Audition

I am working with Production Premium CS5.5 (German version). When ever I try to send audio to Audition (Right click/Edit in Audition) I am receiving the follwong error message: File could not be found. The project and all footage is in the same folder. Production Premium is running on my system SSD. Did this happen to someone? Any idea what could be the reason? I posted this to the German Forum and s.o. asked me to give shorter names to the files. It did not work out though. I had this problem with als my projects yet but could ignore the problem since they were simple projects with one audio only. Now it is too complex and I would like to use this function.

Here is a picture of the error message. In line one it says "opening converted file", next line,: "warning/error - when opening the following file an error occured.". IN the end row: "Details: the file could not be found"
Audition is installed and runs fine seperately. There is no problem with opening audio files, e.g. wav.
Dynamic link in combination with AE and Encore is fine as well. Actually I did not know that I can send photos from the timeline to photoshop. Does this work via right click? I do not find any option then. I only found in the file menue the option : "New/Create Photoshop file"

Startup not working Mac OSX 10.6.4

Hey, im having trouble starting up my mac when i boot it up it gets to the Apple Logo and the whirly loading circle and then after a few minutes it just stops loading and freezes, but i can still heal the processor working.
About my Mac:
Imac about 2 years old, recently upgraded to 10.6.3 from leopard, and then downloaded the update to .4. My mac was recently fixed at an official apple store due to display issues as when i tried to boot up the screen wouldn't work, the mother board and almost all hardware was replaced at the store and when i got my mac back it was working fine.
When this issue started it was after me force shutting down my computer 3 times after the computer freezing after me opening the game World Of Warcraft, this game was working fine before i updated to .4
Side Notes:
I am able to boot into my winxp partition but the Nvidia geforce 8800 gs card doesn't seem to be working.
Things I've Tried:
Booting from disc - not working, gives me the kernal panic error
Safe mode boot - the bar gets around half way and stops, then the same thing happens as when i normally boot into osx
Fsck -fy - seems to do nothing except after 2 tries it says the "Ok"
resetting PRAM - not doing anything either
Not sure what else I should say. Any help appreciated, and ive already booked a appointment to visit the apple store with my mac in a few days.

"Export To Premiere" Does Not Work

Premiere sequence sent to Audition for editing does not export back to Premiere. It does create the new audio files in a seesion folder.
I can import the files into my project, but that's not how it's supposed to work. It worked in the past.

OSX Mavericks 10.9.3 - Why is Adobe Premiere CC not working after upgrading to this?

I updated to the latest version of OS Mavericks (10.9.3) yesterday on my iMac. After it completed, I was no longer able to open Adobe Premiere CC. Every time I try to open a project (either new or existing), I get an error message that a serious error has taken place that requires Premiere to shut down. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling/restarting, but it doesn't seem to work. Need to work on edit projects urgently. What is best way to resolve please?

MacBook Pro update at startup not working properly rendering MacBook unusable.

My MacBook Pro loads an update at the grey screen then shuts off. When it turns back on it attempts to finish loading the update again. Is there a way to stop this update from happening at the startup screen at this time?

you can try this: boot your MacBook Pro into Recovery mode by holding down a Command key and the R key as it starts up. Once the OS X Utilities menu appears, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Does it reach the login screen now?

load-on-startup 1 /load-on-startup not working in Weblogic 9.1

You're right, your situation is very similar to the situation the other poster describes. However, the main similarity is that neither of you have given us any information about what is going wrong. We can't read minds or read what's on your screen. We need to see specific error messages, stack traces, and specific code that shows what you are trying to do.
          However, it's likely that you're running into problems with the issues with "tag reuse" and "tag pooling". You should first read the JSP specification in the areas that talk about this issue, although this will probably leave you with more questions than you started with.
          I'm guessing that your "<gui:button>" element doesn't have any attributes. It's possible that WebLogic is reusing a single "<gui:button>" tag instance for each occurrence in your page. You may have to figure out how to turn off tag pooling in the JSP compiler, but I'm not sure how to do that.
          It's possible that Websphere doesn't give you an issue with this because perhaps they didn't bother with the tag pooling optimization (it is a good thing to have it available).

load-on-startup not working in weblogic 9.1

FWIW, I get a little nervous about inter-application dependencies like
this, but the feature should work.

Adding video transitions using Multicam in Premiere CC not working

Just tried to a video transition to a Multicam timeline between a camera switch and it does add the transition in the timeline but only plays back as a cut as if no transition was applied. Also, using the shortcut CTRL D doesn't add the transition but does it show up in the history that it applied a transition.
I used a Dissolve transition and it shows the video dissolving between the 2 video source in the transition Effects Control window, just doesn't work in the timeline when playing it back. Rendering the timeline doesn't work either, still a cut transition.
Actually, just tried the CTRL D shortcut and it is now working.
Now the transition shows up when going to the Export menu and looking at the video in the Preview window and when exported the dissolve is there so the only problem is that the video transitions can't be seen when playing from the timeline.
Decided to close down Premiere, restart it and reload the project and now the transition works in the timeline.
Actually, here what happens. You can't see transitions when the Program monitor is in Multicam mode, you need to switch is back to Composite mode then the transition will preview when playing from the timeline. Now I just checked and you can scrub through the transition and see it when the Program monitor is in the Multicam mode.

Multi processing / GPU Adobe Premiere Pro not working fast

Hi I've got a Six core CPU and i'm wonderring why when i do my render it don't use all the power I've. The maximum is about 30% of the possibility, sometime it's higher like 80% but why it's not alway 100% because I can't use my computer during this time, so the fastest would be the best... ?
I think it's because I've got After effect composition in my timeline but why it's slow ?
It's the same for stabilization effect also (which seems to be mono thread).
And I'm also vey supprised the GPU almost never help... I've got a GTX 680 and I never see the usage go above 15% .... And you still have to do lot of render, because with many effect it's not realtime (False advertising from NVIDIA/ADOBE grrr)
What is the problem/ solution ?

Hi thanks for your answer Harm Millard.
It's for render previews, source material is DSLR H.264. It's a 3930K O/C 32GB of Ram SSD for OS and SSD for media.
After posting it seems to be my max is 30% when it's an After Effect Comp, and after it depends on the effect sometimes it's 80% sometimes 100%.... Weird.
Another question, Is there a way to do background rendering like FCPX because for play I don't use all the power, but I would prefer my computer do something when I just cut ... ? Because if i change a little setting I have to render for 10 min, and can't continue to edit... It's just not efficient...
I know about the color signification, but I mean you apply just few effect and it's red, and you need to render... :-(
I hope the next version will be outrageously fast, because I just have the feeling It's not optimized for big workstation. I don't know how the workstation with 16 cores use all this power in editing software..
