Premiere stuck at Taskbar

Hey,
At the Moment I am trying Adobe Premiere, and I love it. I would buy it soon, but theres a problem.
Since about a week my Premiere starts, and then i cant do anything because it is stuck at the bottom of my screen.
I cant move it, if i press Enter the programm closes.
What should I do? Even a new installation didnt change anything.

Well, but you sure had a programm with 2 windows.
Open your Adobe Premiere and you have 2 windows. Can you move the big one? No. Thats the problem.
Okay, i just reinstalled my complete computer (what i wanted to do anyways) and now its normal, but thats still no solution for the problem

Camera Raw Title Bar stuck behind taskbar

Hi Adobe Experts!
I have recently started using Windows 7 on one of my machines and it is causing a few headaches with CS4 and CS5.
When I open Camera Raw in Win7 it seems to have a fixed window height. That is, the top of the C-Raw window is at the top of the screen and the title bar (where the 'Open Image', Cancel' & 'Done' buttons live) is stuck behind the taskbar. This is the case with both CS4 and CS5.
I have installed both CS4 & CS5 on my XP SP2 machine and C-Raw makes the window height from the top of the screen to the top of the taskbar allowing full, easy operation.
I have tried to drag the C-Raw window around the screen and then adjust the height but it will not allow a window height change. You can change the width of the C-Raw window as much as you like, but not the height.. (?????)
I wonder if anyone else is having this problem and if there are known fixes...
Does C-Raw maybe not recognise that my new screen is 16:9?
Any advice on this frustrating little quirk would be greatly appreciated!

Interestingly if you toggle full screen mode it brings the smaller CR window in front of the taskbar.
I'm not a huge fan of these new "movie aspect ratio" laptop screens, 16:10 is much better for working on IMO.
Be nice if Adobe let uys change the window size though, seems to be a weird one to "lock"..oh well

Photoshop elements 9 organizer stuck in Taskbar

I recently reinstalled Photoshop Elements 9 on my new Windows 7 sytem which replaced my old XP system which was hit by lightning and destroyed. It worked fine to start with, then on the second day after the system had gone into sleep mode( not the first time) and I woke it up, I could not bring the organizer up out of the Taskbar. I tied to restart the system to recover but it hung up say saving settings and eventually I was forced to hit the reset button to get going again.
When I try to start the organiser again from the welcome screen it just goes into the taskbar and stays there. The editor comes uo fine, but thats not much use without the organiser. I noticed when I tried to bring up the organiser the Task Manager showed that the organiser was running and using 49% of the CPU time but that eventually stopped and the organizer still won't come up.
Any suggestions

Since nobody has replied, I just have a few ideas to start with.
1) If you start the Organizer which then hides in the taskbar, if you right click on the icon in the taskbar, can you close it from there?
2) Ensure that Organizer is closed and then hold the shift key down while you start the Organizer. If it is running, you will have the ability to create a new catalog by clicking on the New button. Enter a new name and click on ok and then see if it opens a new empty catalog.
3) have you applied to 9.0.3 update?

Premiere CS4 crashes with MXF XDCAM files

I have MXF files coming from MP4 XDCAM EX files (converted with Sony EX Browser) and MOV XDCAM EX files (converted with Convergent Design File Converter) both from JVC HM700. Premiere imports all files and if I have a simple timeline it works fine. As soon as the timeline gets longer Premiere stucks and eventually crashes.
Any idea?

I use Clip Browser to convert footage done in MP4 but also Convergent Design's File Converter 1.3 to convert footage shot in MOV.
in Premiere on MAC both MXFs work fine is just that in long (over 15-20 minutes) projects and where there are 2 levels of timeline (I'm sincing the 2cameras) or when I do a simple scale effect (to see the level underneath) everything stucks, get very slow and eventually crashes.
Actually a single MXF file plays better than a MOV XDCAM file and almost the same than a MP4 XDCAM file.. but as I said.. when it gets to handle many together.. things don't work so good anymore

Okay, so I installed Premiere Pro CS6 from CC but when I open it, I get Encore CS6.

Is there a reason for this and if so, what do I need to do in order to use Premiere instead because I wish to make youtube videos instead of DVDs or Blue Ray disks.

I figured out what the problem was, I just need to remember to pin premiere to my taskbar so that CC won't automatically open up Encore.

this is just one video, but i've seen others where they use quadro and gtx together. he runs davinci resolve in video, but not premiere. there is an icon for premiere in the taskbar, so they probably do use it. with nvidia, its possible to go into the control panel and assign only one of the video cards to be used for cuda processing. if just need 10bit out, there are dedicated cards that are designed specifically for display only and shouldn't conflict with a gtx and premiere. some of these display out cards are cheaper than an old cheap quadro or firepro too. ADK has several different kinds, so they should be able to set it up.

Adobe premiere elements 4 minimizes to taskbar upon opening?

I use adobe premiere elements 4 and the minimizes to the taskbar and can't be maximized as soon as I try to start or open a project. I then have to right click and close to exit. Anyone have any idea why this is happening and how to fix it? I get as far as the loading screen when opening projects and new project window when creating new projects before the program crashes to the taskbar. I use windows 7 Profesional 64 bit. It was working fine when I first installed and I just used it a few days ago?
This guy had the same problem but with a newer version so mine may have a different fix but he describes my problem exactly.

This comes up from time to time and appears to be the result of the DVD media that is used. Try some different DVDs.. slower ones if you can find them... 8x for example

If I restart normally and manually disable addons/plugins, then close and start normally again i.e not safe mode, it

Premiere Pro CC 2014 gets stuck on Media Pending.

Hi there,
I've been having a bit of trouble with PPCC 2014 opening projects then getting stuck with all my footage and assets and after effects comps just displaying with 'Media Pending'. The program still works, opens, and I can save and click around so it's not crashing but nothing loads unless I force it to relink which obviously isn't great when I'm having to edit multiple large projects. These projects still open just fine on regular old Premiere Pro CC so I will continue using that for the time being.
Media Encoder is also having an issue with After Effects comps that are in Premiere Pro timelines and only display as 'Media Pending'.
Fortunately all these issues go away if I reboot my machine and try again straight away, but having to reboot my mac just to open a project or do a export isn't exactly preferable.
I have a Mac Pro (late 2013) with 10.9.4 with 16gb Ram and a AMD D500 3GB card.
I'm just wondering if anyone has been suffering with the same issues and has come across any fixes.

I got through Adobe to connect to me remotely to solve this problem twice. They cleaned the cache and preferences and renamed my Adobe folder under applications (don't exactly know how thy did it.) The problem disappeared only to come back after a little while. No video playback, unresponsive buttons - but playable audio, and media pending for all clips. I told them to report this to tech support. This was about a month ago but no updates still..I know I hadn't had this issue neither with CS6 nor with CC.
I am currently rendering my project after changing the sequence's editing mode to Quicktime ProRes Proxy to see if it will help. Preview is still preview but as you said maybe the issue is to be with preview settings set to i-frame mpeg. I have read about the mpeg importer plugin to be an issue in previous versions of premiere pro concerning issues with media pending but i might be wrong.
After changing the sequence settings to Prores Proxy (or if you don't have these codecs installed you may try another codec or google "Prores codec install" and have them installed) the problem cleared away. I have looped the timeline and played it over and over for a couple of hours without the issue surfacing.

Audio Meters "peak indicator" gets stuck after prolonged use of Premiere Pro CC.

Does anyone else have this issue? After using Premiere for a while (maybe an hour or so straight) the audio meters peak indicator will not reset when you start/stop. What do I mean? If your audio level peaks or goes into the red, it stays there like it should letting you know that the levels had hit above +0db. This is normal. This is good. But usually when you stop the timeline and start again, that red peak indicator is reset and disappears. But for me, after prolonged use (which is say about an hour or so), the meters stop resetting and the red does not go away unless I click on the meter to make it disappear. It looks like this even after stopping/starting the timeline:
***Meters work fine for the first 30mins - hour or so of editing. Hitting stop and then start again resets the meters as it should.
***Eventually the peak indicator (see screenshot above) gets stuck and won't go away. The meters continue to work fine, but the red does not go away.
Only way to then reset it is by clicking on the meter itself. Restarting Premiere Pro CC will put everything back to normal again and it should work fine again...for a while...before its starts to lock up again. This issue was present in 7.0.0 as well as the newly updated 7.0.1 I'm on a 2011 27" iMac with 16gb of RAM. (I've submitted a bug report, but curious if this happens to others.)

As much as I wish all my audio were perfectly leveled at all times... You mix live weddings with DJ's that don't know their own equipment with layers of audio in post and its a recipe for some +0db audio.
In all seriousness, I do hope that if others see this bug, they'll chime in and that this bug gets fixed. It's annoying.

Premiere Pro CS5.5 stuck at exporting

I'm having difficulties exporting edited videos lately.
My only footage comes from either Canon 5D2, Canong G12 or Sony Nex-5N. I'm currently working on a wedding with all the shots from 5D2.
Lately I noticed it takes a lot of time for Premiere to export a video. I record it in 1080 25p with the 5D2, import the footage as DSLR 1080 25p and usually export as a 720P 25P file. The size of files I'm usually exporting is around 2-4 minutes and rarely over 200mb (never 300).
It used to export such videos in let's say 5-8 minutes, now it takes (looking at the estimated time left) about 30-45.
About a week ago it hanged for the first time while I was playing with GoPro footage for the first time and it was the only really big file (2,5 hours long, 8gb for export). It got stuck at 91%. I left it overnight and in the morning it was done.
Yesterday I was working on a wedding video. There was lots of Magic Bullet looks used on the clips. I tried to export it send it to my coworker for a review of the color correction and it got stuck at 21minutes left (out of about 40 which is really a high number for a 3minute 200mb file if you ask me) and 27%. I again left it overnight thinking it will export overnight. Well, it didn't.
In the morning it was still stuck at 21:06 to go and 27% done. Since I had to leave for work I'll try to restart my computer when I get home, kill all the programs that I don't need and just try to export it again. If that doesn't help I think I need to format the whole system.. :/

Checking the task manager while it was stuck yesterday showed me that Premiere was using around 5,5gb of RAM a the moment (if this information helps in anyway).
The footage is on the same harddrive as the export file goes. It's a sepparate hard drive from the system drive.
I only run google chrome and winamp while editing in Premiere, everything else is more or less turned off.

I've seen Looks occasionally get 'stuck', though more so with ATI cards than nVidia. If you've only tried it the once, then try a couple more times.

The Page File is MS Windows' "virtual memory." It gets activity, when physical RAM is not available. Especially with video editing, this happens a lot. It can be set via Control>Panel>System. Windows can either dynamically create and size the file, as is necessary, or it can be set to provide the necessary size statically - always the same, and is *usually* set to ~ 2.5x the physical RAM.
With one physical HDD, that is partitioned, you have about 4-5 operations going on at the same time, and your I/O system is basically telling the heads of your HDD to be in different places/platters at this same time. Unfortunately, this is impossible, and one gets system hangs, sluggish performance, crashes or worse.
There are several good threads on suggested HDD setups for NLE work on this forum. I'd step back a level, so you get all Premiere forums, and search for some of these articles. There are a lot of worthwhile suggestions for number, type, connection and configuration of HDD's.

Direct linking from Premiere gets stuck at post processing

Hi Guys,
I have a huge project from Premiere. It's a feature about 1hr 32mins that i tried to direct link to speed grade. Speed grade loads up and it gets stuck at post processing. I read that people recommend exporting as an EDL but you only have 1 track of video? and I have like 9 tracks. What do you guys recommend doing?
heres the setup I have.
Macbook Pro Retina 15".
256gb SSD
16gb Ram
Adobe CC
Project sits on 2 thunderbolt drives.

i turned off the intel gpu and only ran on the 1gb card. still nothing. left it alone for 5 hours while it was in "post processing" and didn't load. im getting nervous, even if I got it to work and it crashes on me; I cant afford to wait on it.
I went ahead and exported my project to quicktime and currently working in Resolve 10 Lite. The scene detection was a lot faster than speedgrades. Im not here to knock on adobe/speed grade. hopefully you guys can fix this soon?

Encore CS3 Is Stuck Importing As Timeline from Premiere CS3

I just purchased CS3 as an upgrade from CS2 and Exported to Encore from Premiere CS3. I've gotten to the screen that says Importing at Timeline and have been at 49% progress for over 30 minutes. The .m2V, .m2v.xmpses, .wav, and .xmp files were all created but I'm stuck here with the Import.
I'm running on a Windows XP SP2, 4 GB RAM, 2 Dual Core processors machine. I loved CS2. It worked great but there have been multiple problems with CS3.
Please help with Encore.

I have a Time-lapse sequence which I have just built and saved the project of, but my cursor has stopped on the time-lapse sequence. Premiere Pro does crashes when I open my project because the cursor is stuck on the time-lapse sequence.
My project was saved in Premiere Pro with the cursor stuck on my new time-lapse sequence. Now, Premiere Pro crashes when I try to open the project....Please help URGENTLY?

The titler does not crash for me at any stage of the Adobe updates for Premiere Pro, including 3.2.
