Premium user repeatedly blocked despite a dozen re...

Closed a credit card in Nov 2014 and placed a new one on my Skype acct xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx but Skype keeps billing the old card and every time it gets a chargeback, it closes my account forcing me to endure filling out the online form and then on average a dozen emails often repeatedly asking me to give part of my credit card numbers and other info to ensure it is me.
After a couple of weeks, my acct. is released until again they try to charge my old card and we do the merry-go-round again. This is now three times ! A different person keeps answering email and refuses to acknowledge my detailed descriptions of the past problem, just robotically asks me to wait and send more info. Not one request (up to 32 emails now) to escalate to a supervisor has been even acknowledged, much less respected. SUPER FRUSTRATED ! 
After more than a decade of using Skype this is my first problem but I am goiing from a big fan to  a hater of the software and the company because of the callous treatment. Appreciate any help !

Sorry to hear about your repeated blocking. You account was reviewed again by Skype CS and should have been unblocked (for the last time) again.
Unfortunately the chargeback process of credit card payment providers can trigger some unclear data points for our payment backend which caused your account to be blocked multiple times.     Here is what I've recently learned (the hard way) about "Premium Messaging"/”Premium Text Messaging” charges of $9.99 that show up in the "Usage Charges" section of your monthly bill under Data (taken from an email from a Verizon Wireless Customer Service Rep):
    "...Premium Text Messages are services offered by third party content providers. They can offer many different things such as: weather or news alerts, sports score alerts, horoscopes, jokes, and even traffic reports. They can also provide entertainment services such as: games, trivia, chat services, free ring tones, or as a part of social media for services provided through Facebook or other sites. You may also be familiar with television or radio programs that have you vote for your favorite artist by sending a text message to a short five or six digit code. Sending a text to those codes is how you get signed up for these services.
    In order to remove it, you simply send a text message from that specific phone to that short code. (34135) In the body of the text, simply write the word Stop. Finally go ahead and send the message. Within a few minutes, you should receive a text back from that company stating that you have cancelled out of their subscription service.
    ...I recommend sending this text as soon as possible to avoid future charges. Judging by the date you supplied, they appear to charge on the 6th of every month."
    What this boils down to is that Verizon is complicit in allowing 3rd parties to occur extra charges via their monthly billing, despite the fact that you may have not realized the text was an "opt out" type. If you read the texts that come in English, the method of opting out is specified, which in my case was replying to the text with just the word STOP – I was thereby opted out, BUT FOR JUST THAT SPECIFIC 3RD PARTY. You should then (IMMEDIATELY) call Verizon customer service at 1-800-922-0204 and request that “Premium Messaging” be blocked.

    For those who say “you should have read your contract more clearly in the 1st place”: my father had died not long before I signed up with Verizon, and I was still in a fog, not really capable of absorbing a lot of information.  I don’t remember reading the first such msg I got; I might have even deleted it before reading it completely because at 1st glance you can tell it's a solicitation. What that very brief, 1st glance doesn't scream out at you is the fact that this is something you must reply to opt out of.

    I called customer service from my phone to get this taken care of, and everything went great. 
    If anyone else has the same problems, just know that I got this resolved immediately.  I put the block on premium messaging last night, and this morning I saw a Verizon Support tweet about this same issue that recommended forwarding the spam message to 7726.  I did that and followed some instructions that were replied back to me.  Then I went ahead and called customer service, told them the problem, and they issued a credit right away.  I just checked and it went into effect immediately.
    Like I said, if anyone else has this problem, these steps resolved it perfectly for me.  Good job, Verizon.

  • Remove/Reduce Shuffle Button on Mobile for Premium Users.

    In almost every view on the Mobile app, there's a giant floating "Shuffle" button that never leaves the screen.
    I believe free users have access to *only* shuffle on mobile, correct? So in that sense, that Shuffle button makes sense. It's their only option for playback.
    As a premium user, I am paying you for the priveledge to play an entire album, playlist, etc in the intended order. Ie. - as a premium user, I am *unlocking* the abilitiy to NOT be forced to shuffle - and the app should reflect that.
    Now, I have no problem with the Shuffle button *existing* - but have it sit next to the "Save" button under the album artwork and have it scroll offscreen. When I am perusing a track list or discography why is it necessary to have SHUFFLE!!!! in my face the whole time? It's especially annoying when viewing an artist or an album - I can *kind* of see the application when viewing a playlist.
    I know this has been posted before in the forums, but the design philosophy behind it (for Premium users) really baffles me.

    Don't remove it. I use it everytime to start playlist with random track. Robust option on Premium.
    When I hit by this to long-time-no-hear handsup track I start to jam hard and I'm so happy. If you remove this feature, I will be mad to Spotify forever...

  • User Mode Block Device Driver

    Hi,
    I want to write a block device driver in user mode so that the read and write calls from the FileSystem comes to user mode component than a regular kernel mode driver.
    why i want to do this ... because I want to pass on the data coming to another apps and the data is near real time and large. So, I can't keep the block driver in kernel mode and do transfer of data from kernel mode to user mode.
    Can this be done ... ? I have been looking at various things but nothing comes close. Any hints will be helpful.

    Well. The 2 user apps cannot talk directly as User APPs2 only understands block I/O requests as input so it has to have a FS over it which is ext3. User APPs1 is an application that runs over FS and writes to it like windows explorer.
    The Problem is I am not able to find a way to write a user mode block driver. Why I want this to be user mode so that I can interface to Virtual disk below which is a user mode application, i.e. User Apps2.
    I can write a kernel mode block driver there but it would not be efficient as I will have to push it from kernel mode to user mode for userapps2.

  • How can I avoid automatic build of an User Code Block at SystemBuild

    Hi,
    I've created a simulation with a User Code Block at SystemBuild. I want the building process to be performed manually, so I changed the buildProcess tag in xml file which is generated by SystemBuild to "Manual". Unfortunately it doesn't work. When I try to execute the simulation, the xml file is overwriten, the buildProcess tag is set to "Automatic" and the software tries to build the library again. How can I avoid automatic build of an User Code Block at SystemBuild?

    The xml file generated when a UserCodeBlock is linked usually contains the following at the top of the file:
    <DynamicLib xmlVersion="1"

                buildProcess="Automatic"
                debug="no">
    To prevent sim from automatically rebuilding your UCB dll change the tag buildProcess to "Manual"

  • Users Safe/Block list not working

    Hi guys,
    I'm using a Management ironport appliance as external quarantine for two Ironport email security devices (clustering), i have enabled Users Safe/Blocks and simply it is not working.
    When the user add email address as white/block to his own list under his quarantine page, nothing change & Safe/Block list is not working.
    Any ideas how to solve/troublshoot the issue?

    Hello Rami,
    did you enable the Safelist/Blocklist on the management apliance and the ESAs as well?  If only on the management appliance, then also switch it on on the email appliances under the setting for the external spam quarantine.

    I have a model which includes a user code block.  I can simulate the model within MatrixX and it compiles OK but when I try to run the model on the target, it won't run.  Can you offer any advice?

    Can you please post some more specifics about the behavior you are seeing?  From your post it appears that you are able to build and run code that does not include a user code block?  What version of MATRIXx are you using?  What exactly happens when you try to run your code?  Do you see any errors, crashes or incorrect data?

    Hi, I am looking to upgrade to Premium for Mac but am curious about how other call participants with Skype Free are able to use my Premium Features.
    Can I, the Skype Premium User, allow other call participants with Skype Free to share their screens, or can I only share my screen?
    Can I, the Skype Premium user, allow other Skype Free call participants to use my HD webcam(bought through Skype) in group video chatting with me and other callers?
    In regards to the two questions above, do all call participants need a Mac to enable Premium features if I am using a Mac?

    Last month, my bill was roughly $10 higher than normal. As I reviewed my bill, I found a premium messaging charge for $9.99 for some Quiz4Now thing. Knowing that I would never sign up for anything like that, I called Verizon who was to put a block on Premium Messaging and I contacted Quiz4Now for stop that service. Fast forward to this month's bill and I have the same charge show up for the same thing.
    I am assuming that the block is in effect, but this charge already occured at the beginning of my cycle and I wasn't able to stop the scam subscription in time but I am concerned that I will never be able to know that Verizon has actually put a Premium Message block on my service.
    How can I know for sure?

    Then call Verizon and have the charge expunged.
    We signed up for communications services not payment gateway services.
    We need to tell Verizon that this is unacceptable. There are a bunch of scam artists extorting the loophole that never should have been there in the first place.
    Of the over 70 million smartphone users in the US how many have said exactly what you said, THANK YOU when told they could block the hole?
    The hole should never have been there to begin with.

    The trick I use to do that is turn off all the headers on the block (table and break) and put the header information in its own block above the section and set the new header block to repeat on each page.  You just have to remember to resize the columns in the header block if you make changes to the column sizes in your data block.
