Prepack or putaway after packed

Dear Experts,
I would like to know whether my flow is feasible in SAP or alternative should be seeked. I am new to SAP NW so please correct me if I am wrong.
My company wants to pre-pack delivery for a matter of efficiency. Let say the delivery should be made on 3 days later. However, the picker will be required to pick and pack the materials today. The problem is how can I represent this in SAP. Normally, materials are picked and packed and transferred to 916 and waiting for GI with HU information. However, as mentioned before, the delivery will be happened 3 days later. So, it seems necessary to putaway the packed materials back into warehouse. Certainly, normal putaway seems not an option as the packed materials are inside 916 interim bin already and not warehouse relevant anymore. So, what should I do in this case? Please advise. Once again, I am new to SAP WM and please point me out if I got any concept wrong.

Hi, I think I have understood what you are trying to accomplish.
However, your process is probably meaningful in your case but it's by no means
standard in terms of logistics. That's why you will have to bend your process a bit,
or maybe bend SAP a bit.
As far as I can see, your requirement is to create an outbound delivery, pick and pack to HU,
which is done by standard to
Some ways that cross my mind to solve the issue are two step picking or maybe even
cross-docking but you would need to have more deliveries e.g. plant to plant inbound, to
cross-dock it to your outbound. But these are all possible workarounds, SAP didn't engineer
the processes in LE to match this type of requirements.
I don't think you will get the definite solution here, but more like ideas on which you will need
to explore and try to understand what SAP can do, and find out which of those functionality you
can use to fulfill your requirements.
There might also be someone who has already done a similar thing and would maybe even get
you up and running with a complete detailed solution if you are lucky.

How to get the gross weight of the material after packing in delivery ?

MSI-issue 1603 after packing Master Collection CS6 with AAME 3.1

i can't install the costum Setup msi file, that i ceatad with the Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition 3.1 if I start the Setup, the MSI close after a few seconds.
The target System is a Windows 7 64bit with SP1.
In the Logs i've created there are following issues:

Can't install dreamWeaver after packing it with CC Packager

Hi,
I have done 2 installation packages with CC Packager. The first one includes Photoshop, Acrobat etc and works fine. After installing it I start Acrobat and register my Adobe ID.
The second package is DreamWeaver that I want to add to the other software’s. It starts the installation, kills explorer.exe and just stops. Nothing else happened.
These are the logs from application log:

I can add that during the first installation explorter.exe shuts down as well and never restarts.

For some reason, it installed on the 5th time.
But, the Adobe Setup Error.log log sais:
ERROR: DW040: The product "{893B3B44-0A1E-404B-8FE8-0A74509102A9}" is not installed. Cannot proceed with the uninstall.
I don’t know where it gets that SSID from, it’s not on the computer when I check my regedit.
I have installed Acrobat, Bridge, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop from the same CC package.
Any ideas? I can’t try 5 times for every installation. ;-)

Free componenet from customer an send them back after packing

Need an help in below scenario..
We pack some medical kits with several componenets.. for 3 of our special customers , they send 1 component from their own to pack in the Kit. Which we issue against a prodcution order and consume this..
But it comes as free of cost from them and doest not get includes in cost of Medical Kits also..
PS: We buy the componenets with a proper Purchase Order as free Item..
Pl help me how to address this unusual practice in SAP..if I need to buy the stuff as free goods " do I need to maintain the PIR for this Material Or not?

Hi Sumit Sharma,
It is free of cost from your customer then don't treated it through Purchase cycle.
You create separate storage location for this customer and directly take this material in that respective storage location and also issue from this storage location to order so you track the stock of Material and also keep its value '0' so no costing effect.

WM Putaway prepacked HUs (LT0B/LT0C) - best practice ?

We want to temporary store packed handling units before PGI takes place The functionality for Putaway prepacked HUs seems to be exactly what we need. This use transaction LT0B ( movement type 91 ) to putaway and LT0C ( movement type 92 ) to take back. This is done in a WM mangaged storage location ( no HU management )
The goods is initially in storage type 916 when pick and pack of the outbound delivery is done.
I have configured movement type 91 to make the move from 916 to storage type 500. This is correctly done for the HU.HU WM status updates to A at TO creation and B at TO confirmation. This correctly blocks for PGI
Movement type 92 moves back from 500 to 916.WM status updates to C at TO creation and (blank) at TO confirmation.
However has a delivery/HU where LT0B and LT0C is completely processed and confirmed the same status (blank) as a newly picked and packed delivery/HU. This e.g. means that the delivery/HU is picked up by LT0B again. We planned to run this as a batchjob to automatically create putaway TOs directly after pack, but it even picks up the deliveries/HU already returned from putaway ( unless we have made PGI )
I would really like to distinguish the 2 scenarios, and tried to have the LT0C to move to a different storage type 918. But this makes the HU WM status stay in status B and does not allow PGI.
Another issue is that these movements are not shown in the HU history. Similar moves with transaction LT0H/LT0I in a HUM managed storage location does appear in the history.
Has anyone used this functionality and have some advise ?

My Scroll bar does not retain its position after pack in my application.
But i need to retain its state.
My code snippet is :

Is there a way to modify the delivery Quantity before Packing takes Place?

Here is the story.
ATP is currently allocating partial delivery unit qty's is the Sales order schedule lines. This is causing numerous problems from a business and logistical standpoint and I have yet after weeks of searching found a solution.
The standard ABAP User exits all make the modifications before the qty is known, or after packing therefore making them not useful. I have debugged the enhancement points and those also seem to not allow for the modification of the delivery qty.
Has anyone every successfully been able to do this. Help is dearly needed at this point.

Stock Transfer of Returnable Packing Material - CRATE

Dear Sap gurus,
This process involve into a dairy industry,
They sell of fresh milk pdoduct like Chaach, Paneer & Shrikhand at Manufacturing plant as well as Parlours .
Now, as per the business process, my client wants to do stock transfer of these products along with CRATE (material type LEIH for Returnable packaging). to their Parlours. Next day crates will be return to the plant.
My question is when i am doing normal sales to customer my returnable packaging material process working fine as per standard SAP Process but in case of stock transfer of crate - line item doesn't display at the time of delivery:
Now my client will have track record of how much qty of crates they have given to their Parlours.
Right now we went ahead considering the scenario & the process is:
1) ME21N --- Create PO with2 line items as milk Product & crate
2) VL10B --- Put PO number and Create Delivery in background
3) VL02N --- Delivery created with ONLY 1 line ie milk and NO CRATE line item.
4) MIGO
So the major issues in this are:
1) During Delivery creation, the material crate should appear automatically as a separate line item.
2) The Parlour should be able to do GR for this crate .
Please suggest, the configuration to be done.

Hi Prashanth,
This is std feature in returnable packaging scenario & very well achievable with Config.
In your case, you are not able to get the ret. packing line item in STO delivery.
Which means, Delivery item category determination is missing.
To populate packing material in a seperate line item, you need to check the below settings-
- in Packing material type ( Tx:VHAR) - Plant determination field should be = B -Determine Plant from first line item
- Tx:0184 - maintain
Delivery type + Item Cat Group + usage + heigherr leve item cat = Def item cat
eg: NL + LEIH + PACK = HUPM
- Packing material should exist in respective sales org & dist channel which is available in Delivery - Header - Adminstration tab
- in Delivery, after packing- select the "additional data" tab in packing screen, item category should be displayed, if its blank. line item will not be displayed
Test & revert.
Its tested scenario & working fine.

How to inventory packing material on Handling Units frm Inbound Del @ PO?

I am receiving raw material against a PO via VL31N, where I pack into handling units. When I post GR for this inbound delivery, the Raw Material is getting a 101 but the packaging material is not being considered. Is there a way I can get the packaging material into inventory? I did verify the following settings as suggested in a different post here and yet the Packing materials are not considered. Any help is appreciated.
1. there is a plant in your HU (you can control this in your packing material type in transaction VHAR; set plant determination either to A or B).
2. there is an item category in your HU (you can control this in transaction 0184; create the following entry: EL / VERP / PACK / / ELP. If you now create an inbound delivery type EL and your packing material has item category group VERP the system will assign item category ELP to your HU.
If both requirements are met the system will generate an item in your inbound delivery after packing.
Then make sure that the item category of the HU (ELP for example) has movement type 501 assigned to it in transaction 0VLP.
If you then post the GR for your inbound delivery, the packing material will be posted on stock.

Can not move rar archives because the packing of them have not yet finished

I have a thread wherein I execute the rar.exe cmd line version to compress folders in .rar archives, now after packing them I want to copy them for example to another directory on my hard disk with a java "copyfile" command. The problem is that before all .rar archives are packed or before rar.exe even started to pack the folders at all to .rar archives the "copyfile" command has already been executed by java, but there arent any .rar files because the Runtime.getRuntime().exec method which calls the rar.exe is still busy with packing the .rar archives. So the solution to this problem is to query the Runtime.getRuntime().exec method wether the rar.exe process has already been finished like:

For Ex,
        Quantity = 10
        Unit Price = 1000
        Packing Charge = 300
        Total = (Quantity*Unit price)+Packing charge
         Total after packing = 10300
          Then i want to calculate the BED for the total after packing 10300 amount
How can i add these packing charge with total amount

Following solution may suitable for this problem
*What we do as a workaround is create a UDF called 'Packing & Forwarding Charges' in Rowlevel and Write a Formatted Search Query to Add this value of 'Packing & Forwarding Charges' with unitprice * Quantity and assign this to Assessble Value of an Item.*
*Assessable Value = unitprice * Quantity + Packing & Forwarding Charges*
Now calculate the BED, CEss, CEHH HE, VAT for this Assable value.
But how can i create the formatted search for adding the value of pack& forward with assessable value

Inspection for HU: inspection lot not created upon packing

Hi All,
I want to inspect a material by Handling Unit, I have set "Inspection for HU" within the Inspection Setup of the material master. I created PO and inbound delivery, in the inbound delivery I did packing, but inspection lot is not created after packing. When I go on with MIGO, system throws error message "Change the inspection stock of material in QM only", according to this message, there should be an inspection lot already created, but I cannot find it in QA32.

There are two prerequisition:
1) Check configuration setting : SPRO --> Logistics - General --> Handling Unit Management --> Basics --> Technical Basics--> Materials Management--> Inventory Management --> Set QM Check and Delivery Type for Each Movement Type. the respective movement type is not deactivated for quality inspections. The indicator QM not active is not set.
2) In material master, Handling unit should be active for inspection type.

How about centring the frame on your screen? You can either move the code you were using on your panel to work on your frame, or do this after packing your frame:
frame.setLocationRelativeTo(null);It's not an exact centring (it doesn't take your taskbar into account) but for one line of code, it's not bad.
