Prepaid Question

I don't know if im in the right place or not but oh well.  I have new $50 a month unlimited plan but being a truck mechanic my phones gettin roughed up pretty fast.  Is there anyway I can buy one of the G'zOne phones outright and use it on the prepaid plan? Thanks much

Hello Grey240sx,
I'm glad to hear that you are interested in the G'zOne phone. They are as rugged as they are stylish. Like spottedcatfish stated in his posting, there is a specific list of compatible phones for the calling plan that you have. The selected devices can be viewed on this link once the unlimited price plan is selected. Here is a link for your review.

  • Verizon Prepaid Questions - Different From AT&T?

I am currently a prepaid customer with AT. I'm also an avid forumer on their website, and I "specialize" in their prepaid offerings and services. I have had Verizon prepaid and postpaid services in the past, and I left due to the high prices and the limitability of their prepaid plans.
I used to have the $.99 daily access fee with $.20 per message. It got too expensive, but then I joined my Mom on her postpaid account. Just three months into it, it got too expensive; I then dropped my Verizon line and happily joined AT&T.
AT&T has very good priced prepaid options and plans - sort of unlike Verizon. Overall, I am happy with AT&T (prepaid), but sometimes I can't get very good coverage in the kitchen of my home... Which is kind of important, because the kitchen is where the heart is, am I right? I do get good 3G coverage upstairs, though, which makes me want to stay.
I use an AT&T prepaid Samsung Mythic, which I love, but it recently stopped working. I am looking to get it replaced soon. My Mom uses a Samsung Reality and gets two/three bars of 3G in our kitchen, while I get zero-two bars of EDGE. I may switch back to Verizon prepaid, under some certain conditions...
1.) Does Verizon offer SMARTPHONES on DAILY ACCESS PLANS? For instance, at AT&T, you can use ANY phone except the iPhone on a prepaid plan, and it is allowed. Can you do that with Verizon? I would like to use a Samsung Fascinate on the daily rate plan of $0.00 with $.25 per minute and $10 Unlimited Mobile-to-Mobile messaging with 250 messages for other-carriered customers.
2.) I use a plan at AT&T called the Simple Rate plan where I pay just $.10 a minute for all calls. Is Verizon's plan $.25 a minute PERIOD, or just to non-Verizon customers?
3.) If I were to switch back to Verizon prepaid, are there any activation charges? At AT&T, you can just register your AT&T prepaid SIM card, and begin using the service almost immediately with no activation fees.
4.) To add money to my AT&T prepaid account, I just simply buy $25 GoPhone cards and load them to my AT&T account. Then I add my messaging plan. Are there Verizon prepaid cards to purchase, and if so, are they easy to load onto the phone?
If I cannot use a Samsung Fascinate/other advanced device with the mentioned plan, I am staying with AT&T, despite the coverage issues in my kitchen. At least it will be affordable and "limitless"...
A reply would be appreciated. Verizon's business depends on it.
    Thanks.

  • Verizon Prepaid - questions about not paying on time

    961
i'm a bit short on cash.
I have the verizon prepaid Unlimited plan on my Droid X2, which is unlimited text and data, which they don't offer anymore.
I'm a bit short on cash this month, and i know i can do without my phone for a week.
My payment of $95 is due on the 26th of each month, and i wont get paid til the 1st, which is a week later.
Will my phone still be able to be paid and activated again?
I've read something about I have 90 days to pay it to get it back on, and keep the same number.
Do they charge a reactivation fee type thing?
I've been a contract holder for about 6 years now with verizon, and finally got out of that, so i'm new to all this pre paid stuff.
    thanks

You probally don't need this info anymore based on your post, but for anyone else who reads it, here the skinny
Even on the grandfathered prepaid monthly plans, you still have an expiration date based on your last largest payment, The plan you were on was $95 a month, so in your case, your last payment, last month, means you have 6 months of that account being active, and Verizon will not change your price plan without permission. So even if you didn't pay till Christmas, you would still have the number active with the grandfathered plan on it.

  • Switching from post paid to prepaid questions

Can I switch from post paid to prepaid and keep my same number? Can I also keep my same phone? I very rarely use more than 2gb of data and could save $30/month if this is possible.

Which phone do you have? Currently only 3G only smartphones can be activated on the Verizon Wireless prepaid plans for smartphones. You should also be out of contract for your postpaid account.

-If you established a rescue email address, there will be a link on the "Passwords & Security" page of id.apple.com.  Clicking the link will send the reset to your rescue email address (NOTE:  This is not the same address as your Apple ID email)
-If there is no link on the page, then you didn't establish a rescue email address.  Contact AppleCare at 800.694.7466 (If you are in the US), and ask for account security.  You will need to answer some questions to verify your identity, AND you will need access to a computer to generate a temporary support pin.

  • Prepaid u350 smooth convert to contract question

My husband has had a Samsung u350 phone for hte past 16 months until I ran it through the wash last Saturday.  He has been without a phone for more than a week.  I purchased the exact phone except it is a prepaid phone (still in the packaging).  Can it be converted from a prepaid phone to finish out the remainder of our 24 month contract?

Tonisgirl, that is a great question. I understand you need to make sure your husband has a working phone. SuzyQ is correct, a prepaid phone needs to be active on a prepay account for 6 months before it can be activated on a postpay account. If you have another VZW phone you want to activate, you can dial *228 send to activate that one. You can also check your upgrade on each line by dialing #UPG send to see if you may have any eligible lines.

  • Prepaid plan question

I purchased a $35 prepaid monthly plan for my father back in WVA..  Why do some calls deduct from anytime minutes of 500 & one number, 713.725.xxxx shows up as a roam call, .20 per minute?  I had him do *228 option 1 to update prl.
He can call me & other #s w/ no roaming costs. Do certain area codes hit different towers & cause this roaming fee?  I don't care about the .20 cent fee, just want to know how Verizon bills calls.
    Thanks kindly..

  • Moto G Prepaid Phone Question

I am very interested in getting the Moto G by Motorola as my next phone.  I have always had contract phones so switching to a no contract phone is new to me.  On the Moto G page it says "This phone may only be used with Verizon Wireless Prepaid service for the first 6 months after activation."  I'm a bit confused on what this means.  Does it mean that this phone can only be used as a prepaid phone for 6 months, then you are forced to get into a contract?  'Cause that is really what it sounds like and that doesn't make sense to me.  Or does it mean that after 6 months, you have the option of having it as a prepaid phone or a contract phone?  If anyone could give me some insight on this, it would be very much appreciated.

After six months on a prepaid plan, the phone is eligible to be activated on a postpaid account. It can be used on the prepaid plans for as long as you want.

  • New Talk, Text and Web prepaid plan question

Evening!   I have a reeeally old Verizon prepaid (FreeUp) account, and an old Verizon Motorola E18 phone.
I also have a current balance of $271.00   If I upgrade to a new phone and the new $50. Talk, Text, and Web monthly prepaid, will I lose my current balance, or will it transfer to my new plan?
    thanks!
    ssandee

As longas you keep your same phone number the balance will be transferred over. Thats the way it is with the Daily Prepaid and also is you transfer over to a contract they will carry the money over on the contract as a credit. No refunds.  You can call customer service to veriify this at 1-888-294-6804

  • Prepaid Account Question

What is the down side to having a prepaid account? That 2 year contract was the only thing I hated about the iPhone. Thanks!

What is the down side to having a prepaid account?
That 2 year contract was the only thing I hated
    about the iPhone. Thanks!
I've been in contracts for the past 4 years and found myself never used up all the minutes to justify what I paid for. So I went with Gophone this time. It turns out that $29 voice call + $4.99 200 SMS is more than enough for my normal usage.
With my iPhone, I only pay about $10 more than what I used to. Having to pay 10$ for unlimited data is a pretty good deal imo.
    So the upsides would be
    1. Paying less each month than postpaid plan IF you have light phone usage. That is $29+$19 (+$4.99 for 200 SMS), comparing to the $59 entry level plan.
    2. No need to pay activation fee, which is $36 on the first billing cycle.
    3. FREEDOM! You can cancel whenever you want. As the iPhone get unlock, you can then... cough..
    BUT the downside is this
You will get these nagging message reminding you how much money you have in your balance, even when you're not doing anything that would count toward it. You will get the most stupid messages saying that your last transaction costs you $0 every 10-20 mins!!!
AT&T CSR told me last time I called that they're working on it and this is the #1 issue that they heard of from prepaid customers. Apple does acknowledge this problem as well. So let's cross our fingers and hope we will get this fix in the next update.

  • Questions about Customer Service and Prepaid Phones

Yes, I have had Straight Talk for over two years. The phone service its self was wonderful. I only came across three places within a 50 mile radios of not being able to get reception. After asking around I found out that Straight Talks service is through Verizon. Everyone I talk to says the Verizon Tower reception was the best. I have been waiting a total of 22 days for Straight Talk to send my replacement for my broken phone. I have had it and I am going to sell the phone on Ebay when I receive it. My service with Straight Talk ends in four days and I am really considering Verizon.. Wanting to do this over the weekend. I know if I purchase a phone from Verizon directly it will be shipped overnight.
The main thing I want to know is if Verizon has a Customer Call Center in the United States? Where I can speak to someone that speaks "Fluent" English and actually cares if I get good service or not.
I am older and I like basics with no change. So, these are the features I want on my new phone.
A phone with a 3 megapix are larger camera with video.
A phone with a touchscreen and a query keyboard.
I want a speak to text feature. The last phone had it but I have been told that a app can be put on a phone to do it if it doesn't have it..
I haven't never had any apps downloaded on my phone but still want options for some.
    A phone that has GPS.
These are the main features I have got to have. Nothing else matters. Can anybody help a elderly old man find a basic phone with these features?
I would greatly appreciate any input from Verizon Users about Verizon's Customer Service Department and any suggestions for a good phone under $50. Of course I am not looking for necessarily a new phone with a lot of extras. Thanks and have a "Wonderful and Blessed Day". Chris

The docs haven't been moved over to the 8.1 docsite, but the 7.0 docs
for campaigns are still pretty much valid in 8.1. Look at:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wlp/docs70/dev/cmpaign.htm#998197
    for more information.
    Basic answers:
    1. You can't from a campaign. It will always batch emails in the database.
    2. Use the bea/weblogic81/portal/bin/mainmanager.bat|sh script, which
uses the com.bea.p13n.mail.MailManager command-line java class (JavaDoc
    at http://e-docs.bea.com/wlp/docs81/javadoc/index.html). This can be
invoked from cron or at for regular email delivery. Also, the emails are
    deposited in the MAIL_* tables
    (http://e-docs.bea.com/wlp/docs81/db/4Schemas.html#1064602), so you
could implement a delivery system from that as well.
    3. There are no parameters since the email delivery is invoked from a
    command-line process.

  • Questions on porting family plan lines and a prorated final bill?

Hey there! I've done some searches on the board before posting and encountered tidbits of information I found useful, but I couldn't get all of my lingering questions answered from older posts so here's my situation:
My number is the primary number on a family plan (3 lines, mine included) with Verizon, and I'm considering porting it along with the two other lines elsewhere. All three lines are no longer in a contract and are month-to-month (the 2-year agreements ended many months ago and none of the lines have been upgraded or anything since then). I'm planning to move them all to separate prepaid services through another carrier.
I'm doing my best to gather enough information about how to go about moving all three of these family plan lines with the least amount of hassle , so I've got some questions I hope I can get answered. Thanks for any assistance!
    This is my understanding:
-I'll need to contact my new carrier to have a given number ported, correct? And that line will be subsequently cancelled on Verizon's end, with no ETFs since none of the lines are tied to a contract?
-Should I port the second and third lines first and not port the primary number (mine) first, so asto not cancel all the lines of service before they're ported? I'm okay porting one number at a time AKA separately instead of all at once if that simplifies the transfer process.
-When the porting process takes place and my Verizon service is cancelled, does Verizon prorate the remaining days on my billing period from the date it's cancelled, or do they still bill up to the end of the cycle? I hear it's better to wait until the end of my billing cycle (which for me is the 9th of every month) to initiate the transfer(s) so that I don't have any billing issues, but moving all three numbers on one day (even separately) sounds kinda daunting.
-Do the phones I currently have under Verizon simply "disconnect" or deactivate once service is cancelled? Will they no longer be associated with my family plan lines and therefore be free to be resold or handed off to other family members who are using Verizon? I notice many phones on eBay/Craigslist list a "cleared ESN" as a requirement for someone to activate a used phone on Verizon and wanted to know what that was about.
Thanks for any help on these concerns!

    This is my understanding:
-I'll need to contact my new carrier to have a given number ported, correct? And that line will be subsequently cancelled on Verizon's end, with no ETFs since none of the lines are tied to a contract?  All correct - the port happens via the NEW carrier.
-Should I port the second and third lines first and not port the primary number (mine) first, so asto not cancel all the lines of service before they're ported? I'm okay porting one number at a time AKA separately instead of all at once if that simplifies the transfer process.  You can do it this way - but based on your next question, you wouldn't want to do it this way.  You can't do both!!
-When the porting process takes place and my Verizon service is cancelled, does Verizon prorate the remaining days on my billing period from the date it's cancelled, or do they still bill up to the end of the cycle?  You have already paid for the current month's service - you are billed in advance for the coming month.  What WILL be billed is any texting, roaming calls, data charges, etc, that have occurred during the month that were NOT billed in advance. I hear it's better to wait until the end of my billing cycle (which for me is the 9th of every month) to initiate the transfer(s) so that I don't have any billing issues, but moving all three numbers on one day (even separately) sounds kinda daunting.   But YOU don't have to do anything - your new carrier will deal with it, and it seems to me it would be better to end the service on all three at one time, since it is one account.  You can ask your new carrier what they recommend.  There should be no issues with porting all three lines at once.
-Do the phones I currently have under Verizon simply "disconnect" or deactivate once service is cancelled?Yes - once the number is ported to the new carrier, the phones will no longer work until they are activated with another number.  Will they no longer be associated with my family plan lines and therefore be free to be resold or handed off to other family members who are using Verizon? This is correct, and another reason for doing the port at the end of a billing cycle.  Issues have come up with transfers done mid cycle - and because the account had been billed and paid for the full month's service, the phone's ESN was not released until the end of the billing cycle.  I notice many phones on eBay/Craigslist list a "cleared ESN" as a requirement for someone to activate a used phone on Verizon and wanted to know what that was about.
Thanks for any help on these concerns!
It may take several days for the numbers to fully port over and have all services working correctly, and for the old phones to be fully "released" from your account to be used on another Verizon account.  I would wait a week or so after the port, then call CS and check the ESN status of the old phones to see if they are "clear".
Hope this answers most of your questions.  Post back if you need further clarification.

  • How can I pay my prepaid bill with a Verizon Wireless gift card?

I have a prepaid account and when I switched to Verizon I traded my old iPhone in and was given a $200 gift card from Verizon. I made sure that you can use the gift card to pay your bill. But when I go into My Verizon, I can't find a place to pay. Does this mean that you can't pay on a prepaid ALL SET plan with a gift card?
