Preparatory workflow for image gallery

I would like advice about what tools might be available in DW
CS4 to help with the preparations for an image gallery.
I have settled on a page design with the artist and processed
about 150 images for a gallery. These need to be categorised
according to his choice and whilst I wait I wonder if I can set to
coding the gallery pages. There may be a dozen or so. Then I expect
the image choices to change as the gallery pages get built and he
might want to change the order of images and how they fit together
on the page.
I am going to use one of the lightbox options and reckon that
I could get going on some of the coding in the thumbs. I would like
to do it in such a way that they will be in one place, and that I
could then drag them into a page when he's ready.
Thanks
Martin

OK. What you need to do is, one at a time, create an animation of each image you want to fade in, and export it as an animation. Once you have done that you can specify the animation as the image to swap in the Swap Image wizard. For "Show the swapped image from", choose Image file and browse to the location of the saved animated version. Note that your end file size for this project will be prohibitive if you create it in this way. I strongly urge you to do it in Adobe Flash instead.

  • How do i use numbers for image gallery and arrows?

    Hello there,
I'm hoping someone can advise me on the best possible way.
I would like to use numbers to help the user navigate through the image gallery i'm creating and arrows on either side of an image (one image viewed at any one time). I have attached an image of what i'm trying to acheive. I feel like the arrows will help aid the user to navigate and the numbers will inform them on the number of images to view.
I have so far created the site with a template (logo and nav bar) and child pages for: home/about/work/contact.
Hope to hear from someone soon.

With so many pre-built image galleries available to you, there's no reason to re-invent the wheel.

  • Need work around for image gallery with password protected URLs

Is there a way to display an image gallery that has password protected URLs?
I can build the image gallery in Siena using an excel table with a list of the images and when I preview the app inside Siena I get the expected credentials prompt from IE, and I enter the credentials and the images load and display with their captions perfectly.
There are 4-6 images in the gallery.
When I publish and produce a store app, the app errors out with can’t connect and obviously fails on
var GenericInitError = "The app could not connect to the server. Please try again later.",
            GenericInitTitle = "Network error";
Most likely because Siena wants to preload everything and there is no way with preload to enter credentials.
I am looking for any alternatives that would let me get around this.
    TIA

Nope. The app accesses a group of IP Security cameras. Static images would not
make any sense. And authentication is required. Not negotiable.

  • N97 mini: folder setting for image gallery / photo...

Hi I've just got a simple question: is it possible to choose the images folder(s) which are shown in photobrowser or image gallery on a n97 mini?
now it shows all the images on my device/mass storage/sdhc card, and I don't want that to happen. I want to be able to choose the folders which are shown. now it also shows all icons of my pois inthere, so i've got over 400 images (all images which are used by programs) while there are only about 50 files in the images folder.
now i have to scroll through 350 images which i don't need, just to find 1 photo i want to use as a background.
hoping that there will be a software update which allows for changing these settings, so that it only shows the folders I want to use.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You can use X-plore from "lonelycatgames" , to hide an entire folder, but those images are used by programs this would be of no use.
If you are interested to know how:
1ownload and install X-plore, their website, (trial works as good as full, with a just a splash screen at startup)
2: Open it, Create a folder any where on memory card. Or if you know the folders where "those 400" pictures reside, navigate to it.
3: click Options>file>attributes>and tick "Hidden" it'll ask "Do you want to edit attributes of all file in this folder?" click yes.
Now all the file in a particular folder are hidden, so they won't show up in gallery.

  • Hierarchical navigation for image gallery?

I'm trying to create an image gallery of six buildings that users  navigate by clicking on buttons placed on a map of London. I have two  photographs each of six buildings. I want to cycle or crossfade the two images for each building when users click on a button on  the map.
I can get each button on the map to link to one image – I just can't the  images to cycle or crossfade in their separate slice once they've done  that.
Is this possible? I'm relatively new to Fireworks and have tried using  symbols, states and layers but haven't been able to find a solution (it  may be that I'm missing something).
    Thanks in advance!

  • Best workflow for image (LOGO) from Illustrator to FCP?

Greetings to all. I am struggling with this -- I want to bring my company logo into FCP 5.1.4, FROM Illustrator to FCP. Easy enough? Not for me.. as I have two issues:
    1. My imported image looks great in the viewer, but jaggies in the Canvas.
I understand that for DV NTSC 48k, my frame size is 720x480 -- but in another post, I read that it is best to export as 720x540, .tif (another person said 720x540 jpeg, because jpeg embeds sRGB proile -- but that will be part of question #2) -- the square pixel vs. 4:3 pixel issue...
My Illustrator image is all vector art, and all fonts are outlined before export. I am saving as high-res (300 dpi). I tried saving as tif, jpeg, pdf. I tried bringing the PDF into photoshop, and saving as a psd. I tried opening pdf. No matter what I tried, the image looked perfect in the viewer, but like doo in the canvas. A tif, file size 720x540, 300dpi looks correct in the viewer, but jaggie in the canvas.
YES, the green "render" bar was visible in the timeline -- of course, that must be the problem -- but then I rendered the still clip, and there was no difference. I made sure the render indicator in the timeline was "dark grey" -- but yet, the imported still image from illustrator looks jaggie and not good enough for production in the canvas.
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG HERE?
    2. Color space -- regardless of the jaggies issues, my imported still image from illustrator is all washed out when imported.
Regardless of file type. Yes, file set to RGB. Yes, gamma set to 2.2 (also tried setting imported still gamma to defualt - "source" - no change)
My LCD display (mac book pro C2D 17") is calibrated, using a Spyder2. Gamma is set to 2.2. My print output from illustrator (saved as pdf x-1/a) ALWAYS prints as expected.
If I add a color correction filter, and juice up the saturation, I can try to make the still image look close, but this shouldn't be the case, YES?
My expectation is that a still image in illustrator or photoshop should look the same in FCP.
What kind of newbie error am I making? What am I missing?
Thank in advance for any guidance.
    Jeremy

I have been sending jobs to print (magazine ads, web, general print) for ages, and my printed materials come in as expected -- that is, within a few % points of my display -- which is what we are expecting -- and also EXTREMELY close to proof prints, using a reasonably high-end inkjet printer, with correct paper profiles... that is to say, that although I am no expert in color management by any means, I have what I need so that what I see on screen is very close to what is printed on a local printer, or a million dollar press.
CAN I EXPECT to achieve anything close to this with video?
When you print something on paper, you get to see exactly what it will look like and that's exactly how your customers will see it too. With video, there are infinite variables affecting this such as incorrectly calibrated displays; cheap TV components; the difference between CRTs, LCDs and computer displays; the size / resolution of the display, etc. There are so many variables that it will look different on every screen. All we can do as content producers is calibrate to a common standard, achieved through a properly-calibrated broadcast monitor.
But if your film has a single use in mind, such as a trade show, it is better to ignore the above advice and use the display device it will end up on as the monitoring device, if you can.
I am not near my FCP machine right now, so I can't try the test -- but I will try to revert my display color profile to stock apple LCD, and see what this brings. I know that FCP has simply NOT looked correct to me on my machine.
What do the "big guns" who are using FCP and having to use pre-defined creative print elements, created in AI or Photoshop or whatever -- all color matched for print, what do you guys do when you need to integrate this into FCP?
ARE FCP editors using Apple's 1.8 gamma (I guess you must because FCP uses it regardless of your colorsync profile, per the above article). ???
I set it to Source and have had no problems because I create still images on the same machine with the default gamma of 1.8. I think what happened was you created the images in Photoshop with a colorsync profile of 2.2 on the monitor but perhaps a different profile embedded (if any). When you brought it into FCP, FCP automatically assumed it was created at a gamma of 1.8 and boosted to 2.2 but as the images was not created at 1.8, it was already very bright to begin with and so was boosted x2. That's my theory.

    Hi Vinod,
I tried using af:image like below and its the same issue.I have read in most of the blogs that since this is in the content presenter template, the image has to be displayed using output text with escape set to false.
    <af:image source="#{node.propertyMap['REGDEF:Image'].asTextHtml}" id="image5"/>
I am not using <img> anywhere, its just that on the webpage when the image doesnt appear, I tried to see the source of the image using Firebug and it shows following:
    <img src="${wcmUrl('rendition','xyz/web')} " alt = "Logo">

  • Best Workflow for TIFF Sequences

    Hi There,

    1) Which Sequence Preset should I use, or better yet which custom settings should I go with when creating the sequence for TIFF use...
If anyone working with PPRO and TIFF sequences has any great advice like what to 'watch out for' or whatever, I would be highly appreciative !
PS - I tried searching the PPRO CS5 forum but no matter what I enter in the search field, it always renders "No Results Found"
This is happening across all adobe's forums - perhaps the search engine has a BUG ===
I am using Safari on Snow Leopard !

I knew about the trick of dragging the media to the seq icon to have premiere pro create the 'right' sequence.
Just thought there might be some better settings for using tiff sequences...
    Thanks though..
Regarding batch import of tiff sequences.
For the world of me, I cannot figure out why drag n dropping an image sequence to PPRO would spark the app to import all the tiffs as individual files, instead of setting the "Image Sequence" bit... if the folder contains 1200 tiffs.
Definitely A LOT of improvement that can be done "Image-Sequence-Wise" in PPro - especially when considering the PRO-name in the application name.
Workflow for image sequences is very un-pro in PPRO :-))))
Anyway, I am an AVID Quickeys user and I have programmed a Quickey-Script that will batch import the 100 tiff sequences that I have residing in 100 folders. I click one shortkey and Quickeys iterates through the 100 folders and half an hour later as I came back to the Mac - they had all been imported.
That beats having to manually import 100 times. Imagine I had had 700 clips - ALL - Tiff or other Image Sequences...
Anyway, quickeys is a VERY useful tool for repetitive tasks and saves me HOURS literally every day....
It is made by startly and is worth EVRY penny ! Works with OS X and Windows

  • Image gallery how to?

Hey guys i want to know how to create a image gallery then some sort of spry gallery after you have created a regular gallery. The design im wanting to learn how to do is something similar to this in here :     www.templatemonster.com/demo/40170.html ; if any one is kind to help me out to look at how to create this one. But a little different i still want the idea of the small pictures how this person has on there template. Although i want my small images in side a web page gallery moved to left, and then have the larger image moved to the right of the page.
would any one be kind to help me out on how to do so to code and css. i'm a beginner when creating a image gallery but im trying to create one on how i explained over this sentence.
Thanks would be awesome to see how this turns out!
ps:would respond to you guys later if you guys reply i have classes at college soon.
Thank you to anyone who helps!!

For image gallery, look at FancyBox.

  • How can I create a high res image gallery, need to have print res photos for a pressroom section.

How can I create a high res image gallery, need to have print res photos for a pressroom section.

If you want Muse to "pass through" your images and not adjust, compress, crop etc - you need to place your images in the lightbox EXACTLY at the right size, pre-cropped and prepped in Photoshop.
So if your light box is 800x600 the image you're dropping into that must be 800x600 exactly with no effects, rotation etc added to the lightbox frame. This stop Muse fiddling with your images, if they are perfect when inserted and you're not asking Muse to crop, expand, add effects etc. If it's perfect when inserted, Muse SHOULD also leave the resolution alone too, but I have not tried that one, but in theory, it should work.

  • Image gallery approach for additional details and add to cart option?

With efficiency and minimalist downloads for smartphone users I would appreciate advice on a product image gallery.
Currently I have an intro page and other simple information pages. My gallery pages ( four distinct pages for different leather goods) need  either a pop up or a link to a new page for additional details and an option to add to cart.
Within the image gallery, How should I link each photo to the new detail/cart page? Can clicking  the image itself be the action or do I need a button?

I made a mistake. I think I got it right this time. The pop up of the title box works but the images are all gone.

  • Image Gallery or Lightbox that works for DW CS6?

Help! I need an image gallery or lightbox that works! I tried the Lightbox Gallery in Widgets and while it works for the most part, the nav buttons don't show up and I've put the files in every directory (path) possible. Does anyone have a fix for this - I've perused forums for hours about this. OR is there something else that's easy and fast and that works? And hopefully free?
    Thank you so much!

The page is not live, so here is the code:

  • Anyone have a good tutorial for an AS3-XML image gallery?

I'm a pretty good Flash developer, but I've never worked with XML in Flash.  I'm looking for a good tutorial on creating an XML driven image gallery, but I have yet to really find anything.  Does anyone out there have a good tutorial?  Thanks!
    Jesse

Your best bets for getting something more specific to your needs will either be to...
    - search Google using terms like "AS3 XML gallery tutorial" and "AS3 XML slideshow tutorial"
    - take one fairly complicated tutorial and learn how it works down to understanding each element of what is being done.  Once you a proper level of understanding you should be able to reason out how to create one of your own with whatever different features you prefer
