Does everyone know about this? Is what Macromedia supplied
the best way to fix this issue?

I nearly fell of my chair when I was showing a client some
flash work and each time I rolled over a .swf if would become
selected and not work, I couldnt work out what the heck was going
on, made me look like bit of goose.
Looking for others thoughts ont he subject.

Their solution is OK but not the best. 2 other options I
found that were better were SWF Object (

this option has a lot of other features you might like as well.
But if you are looking for a very un-intrusive solution then
this link is what you should use. You just add the <script>
tag at the end of your HTML code and it corrects the problem.
Helped me fix over a 100 eLearning course in about an 1 hour
without touching any of the existing Flash code and only adding a
single line to all HTML launching files.

Also, this "patch" from Microsoft was pushed out back on

I finally installed the long-awaited version 4 of firefox, and I am really disappointed. In addition to slight sluggishness now and again, it turns out that websites with Flash content (even those sites with a little flash advertising banner) are causing my CPU usage to really go up.
It's slowing down my machine, making my CPU fans spin loudly, and making for a disappointing web browsing experience.
I have disabled all add-ons, and done the usual. Even tried installing Chrome for the first time ever!
The problem is definitely Flash + Firefox 4.
I have created a brand new profile, but no dice. Wondering if anyone else experiences a high CPU load on pages with flash...

Adobe Flash Player has also been crashing periodically on 2 of my computers, I'm still running XP, one of them a powerful HTPC, Dell Optiplex 755 SFF over a new Cable Internet Connection. Buffering, Lagging, crashing when streaming video for Catchup TV (Freeview) via Firefox Adobe Flash Player Add-On, does not happen on Youtube though. Lagging & Crashing does NOT occur AT ALL in Google Chrome, but I hate that browser.
Have tried the usual disabling Flash Hardware Acceleration + Protected Mode, setting storage to Unlimited, disabling FF Ad Blockers + Hardware Acceleration, cleaning Caches, updating program versions, everything bar reinstalling programs. It's not happening in Chrome, why in Firefox?

Flash is a proprietary technology owned and controlled by Adobe. It's nothing to do with Apple. Flash is also slow, buggy and RAM hungry. You can't really expect a technology that even runs poorly on relatively high-specced computers to run that well on a low-powered handheld device.
Web-sites are generally moving away from proprietary technologies like Flash in favour of open-source technologies such as Javascript, AJAX and HTML5 - all of which work on the iPod touch, and can reproduce many of the Flash-type effects you see on Flash web-sites.
Over time, I'm sure Flash will be used less and less as more and more people access the web 'on-the-go' from handheld devices, and open-standards become the norm.

GL account linkage with activity group for AVC- Funds management

I have activated (BCS) funds management in my system. My client wants that system will give error message for some expense GL accounts and for other expense GL accounts it will only give information message.
For that i have created new activity group for AVC but i have no idea how we can link GL accounts with activity group for AVC.
Request immediate help.

Hi,
The correct way to deal with this is not with activity groups, but with tolerance profiles. Create tolerance profiles with error and warning messages accordingly and then create a tolerance derivation strategy, which on the basis of commitment item, will derive the relevant profile.

Welcome to the HP Support forums. I understand that when trying to activate the HP ePrint app that you haven’t received the activation code.
Which email address are you using to activate the app, your personal email or the printer’s ePrint email address? If you have been using the printer’s ePrint email address, please try again with your personal email address. If you have been using your personal email address, please check your junk/spam folders to see if it was redirected there. It can take up to 24 hours to receive the email.

If you buy an iLife '11 install DVD (eBay, Amazon) you could upgrade your iPhoto right away. The earlier iPhoto '11 versions are compatible with MacOS X 10.6.8.

Targeting SWF via JS with Active Content update

Hi all, I've tried the DW8 forum without success, can anyone
here help please?
I have to upgrade an old site which uses Javascript to
control Flash content. If I allow Dreamweaver 8 to implement the
Active Content code fix for the IE interactivity workaround , the
external javascript controls no longer work.
Can anyone advise what must be changed to allow the external
JS to target the SWF correctly?
Here's an example of the current external JS that triggers an
SWF file OK when clicked.

I use SWFObject to embed the Flash, which fixes the IE
issues, and have no
issues still controlling the movie from JS like you
mentioned.

Firefox closes on websites with Flash content

I have been experiencing this problem after the last couple of updates. I'm currently running 3.6.6. On nearly every site that runs Adobe Flash content, the content loads to the point that I know it will work, but Firefox stops loading the content, freezes, and then closes with no error messages. I reopen it and it asks for a session restore, but only about half of the time. The other half, it restores the tabs to about 10 seconds before the crash. I would open Speedtest.net, for example, it would load the player to when the blue line appears in the bottom, and then the loading wheel in the tab would freeze. After that, it closes. It has happened every time I opened that website. It would happen on other site with flash games as well.
I have reinstalled Adobe Flash by uninstalling and then reinstalling. I have also manually upgraded Firefox again. None of these have fixed the problem.

Open up computer case, unplug and take out the processor fan cooler and wipe out all the dust, speccially in the heatsink, with a soft little brush and compressed air spray (also check power supply fan). I discovered this solution after weeks of trying all software related recommended steps and nothing worked, adobe flash player was still crashing in firefox, chrome and opera even after completely uninstalling flash and installing latest version 10.2.152.26 of the plugin. I realized this was the problem when pc started to crash unexepectedly when not playing flash videos. So, EUREKA, that did the trick for me. Hope it does for you.

Comparing Business Content (D) with Active Content (A)

Hi, I am planning on installing some business content and notice that 0COMP_CODE is automatically marked for install and match.
How can I compare what I have in Active against the new business content to see what is different? Please don't tell me this is not possible...

i'm lookin for a way to compare my active BW structures with the existing content which is installed with SP or release update... I even want to see differences in startroutines or changes in transfer rules.
In my scenario, we used the DataSource 0UCCONTRACT_ATTR and the transfer rule from content.
The DataSource and the transfer rule were activated from content in 2003. In 2004, SAP published OSS note (713358) to correct inconsistent data.
But the new code wasn't activated, because we have many custom computations in the transfer rules.
Do you know any way to figure out those differences?
In SAP help, i found the transaction RSBICA (BI content analyzer). Is this the right tool?

Automated Basic Authenication with an Applet for the Browser

I like to automate web access to secured pages and proxies, which are
proteced with a Basic Authenication scheme.
The Basic Authentication within an Applet works really well, I get all the
information I need when I attach the
Authorization: Basic base64encodeUID_PW to the request Header.
or
if I use the Authenticator Class of the JDK1.5.
My problem is that the browser do not notice that I already have a
UID/Password combination for the desired web page and I don't want that the Dialog
to enter the UID and Password comes up, when I access the Page later with the browser.
When I did the same with a form based authorisation the URLConnection was
setting the Cookie inside the browser implicitly, the showDocument() method
displayed the secured page, because the browser used the cookie to access
it.
Is there any way to access the cache for the UID and Password of the
browser to set these values, so when I invoke the showDocument() to
display the page inside the browser, I don't have to enter the UID and
Password again?
My current code to authenticate myself is this, I also tried a direct
socket connection and a HttpURLConnection there was no difference:

That is properly too late.
However, I am working on a similar problem. This is my insight. If anybody know more than I do, please let me know.
Using the applet, the Authenticator may not work due to the new JRE. I believe if you have the property file within your machine, you may get around this problem. Other than that, I have not figured out a way to get pass this security issue. Anybody have any thought on that ?
To get around this issue, in your case, it is Basic Authentication; so it won't be too bad. You will need to write your own http client. which mean, you will need to be able to read the response from the server and send the proper header back to the server. At least that is how I did it.
The problem I am facing now is doing Digest Authentication. I really hate to do all kind of work to get Digest working. Only if the Authenticator work for me.

How do I prepare G4 with external HD for internal HD replacement?

My G4, bought in 2005, is becoming unstable. I want to prepare for replacing the internal HD. I have an external Firewire 186 GB Seagate HD that is only partially utilized for storing photographic images. I have the original install disks for OS X 10.4 and for many - but not all - of the applications on the internal HD. MS Office might not have another install privilege and Adobe can be difficult about reusing their product serial numbers. I assume that the authorization codes for purchased downloads are stored somewhere on the internal HD.
Can I move the applications to the external HD while I replace the internal HD, reinstall the OS and the Intego security suite, set up the WLAN codes, and update the OS? I would not need to run the applications from the external HD but I would want to reinstall them from there onto the new internal HD if that is at all possible.

First, how much space is free on the external drive, and how much is used on the Internal drive?
The best way would be to Clone the Internal to the external drive, without erasing anything on the external, which if you have enough space can be done if we take care with additional instructions to follow if needed.

Problems with Activation Key for Windows 7

Seeing as this has to do with the physical key and not the software for Windows 7 I do not know which board I should post this in.
I have a Toshiba Satellite A665 that came with Windows 7 Home Ed. serial key label on the bottom of the laptop. After 3 years of use I can no longer read some of the letters on the key. I want to wipe my laptop and do a fresh install of W7 since my laptop has been extremely slow and buggy recently. Is there any way to recover my product key?

You don't need a key. When you do a recovery to out-of-box state (the day you first used the computer) using Toshiba Recovery Media, the original Operating System will be reinstalled and automatically activated. Consult your User's Guide "Recovery of Internal Storage Drive" for detailed instructions. Type "User's Guide" in the Start/Search box and then click on User's Guide. If you have occasion to post back here, please include your COMPLETE model info as in my examples below.

Separators with text content for menus

I want to have a menu/choicebox with several separators to split the menu into sections, but I would like the separators to be more than just lines, specifically I want some text there -- essentially the separator acts as a header for the menu items in the section that follows.
Is that possible?

Active Content for cfform in Flash format

I have use <cfform> to generate flash forms. When the
pages display these forms they are locked with the "Click to
activate this control" message. Because these forms are dynamic and
genrated in-line, I am unsure how to cause the form to display
unlocked. Any suggestions? Thanks.

This is because of microsoft having to change the way IE
interacts with the object.
There is a hot fix or you can apply updater 2 for cf. This
will resolve the problem.

I find the info out there for this issue with CFM
sparse...but I have an issue: I used the dreamweaver 8 auto
correction (adds the javascript + creates the files) on my CFM
pages and it worked fine until the part where the flash embedding
code was nested inside of a <CFIF> statement....and nothing
appears.
any ideas? I am so-so with code, but not really a programmer
so I really need help from more advanced developers on this one.
