I am going to prep my 2nd gen 16gb iTouch for sale since I just bought an iPhone.
Is there anyway to keep the apps I have on there, but remove all my account information? Or should I just do a restore/wipe?

restoring your iPod to new should do it.
you will use your iPhone with the same iTunes account, so you'll just be able to sync the apps to it.

Prepping my PB for sale...

I'm about to sell my PowerBook and purchase a MacBook, and I want to prep my computer for sale, without deleting files and software.
What's the easiest way to deauthorize the necessary programs? I know about deauthorizing iTunes, I'm assuming I should remove my info from my Mail and chat programs. Anything else critical that needs to be done?
Someone suggested creating a New User account, then deleting mine, so that they're ready to go.
Oh, and I also have an iPhone and this is the computer I've synced it on. Any preperations I need to do for that?

Those are a bit contradictory goals. First, there's only one way to delete your account without erasing the machine and doing an Erase & Install: you have to create another admin user account, log into it, and delete the original. If you installed your applications the normal way, they should reside in /Applications, not in /Users/your username/Applications, so they're available for all current or future users. As for *your files*, why would you want the new user to have them? Those are private and shouldn't be transfered. Finally, for all Apple apps that didn't come with the machine and 3rd-party apps you installed separately, you need to include the installation disks and manuals; otherwise, what you're doing is illegal. You might want to reconsider why selling the computer tomorrow is so urgent.

Prepping a computer for sale

I am readying a Dual G5 for sale on eBay.
What is the best way to securely erase the hard drive so an identity theif cannot mine it for files?
I performed a clean install of the original OS from the install discs. I chose Erase and Install from the options.
Is that good enough? Does it completely erase all traces of previous files?

Here's my method.
This is the way I prepare old machines that came with OS X installed, which allows them to act just like one from the factory. First, boot with the Apple Hardware Test disk that came with the machine, run the extended tests, and make sure everything passes. Then, boot with the restore disk that came with the machine, erase and zero the HD (as discussed in those articles). When that's finished, reformat it Mac OS Extended, install the OS 9 drivers (if the machine can boot into OS 9), and then restore the software.
When finished, click on the restart button, holding down the CMD+S keys. This puts the machine into single-user mode and gives you an Unix command line terminal screen. When the text stops scrolling, type in this command and click the return key:
shutdown -h now
This shuts down the computer; the next time it is turned on, the Setup Assistant will appear and the new user will get to personalize it. This also alleviates the necessity of presetting any display parameters, internet and e-mail settings, etc. As long as the monitor can hook up to the machine, the OS will select a usable resolution and the user can use the Display prefpane to suit their needs. They'll also have to run Software Update and bring everything up to the latest version.

Prepping Leopard Mac for Sale and removing old details

Hi all,
I'm about to sell my Mac Mini with Leopard installed on it, and I want to remove all my details and user accounts from it, preferably in such a way that the Mac is at the same state it was when I bought it - i.e. asking me for my details, etc.
I realise I have the option of doing a wipe and reinstall and switching it off before entering my details, but this has the weakness that none of the apps that came with it will be installed.
As I'm sure most of you will know, Windows has a tool called sysprep which does what I want to do - does anyone know how to do this for OS X? Is it even possible?

The easiest way is to wipe your HD from Disk Utility I would use the 35 pass option which is time consuming. Then Put your OS install disc that came with your computer in and run thru the install process. Once it is complete it it will restart and prompt for details, At this point you are ready to shutdown and ship to the new owner. I have done this with a couple old computers never had an issue.

Preparing my MacBook for sale...

Hiall,
I am planning on upgrading my MacBook to a MacBook Pro in a few weeks, and want to figure out how to best prep the MB for sale, system wise. I'm currently running 10.4.11, on a 2.16 C2D machine. I've just upgraded the RAM to 4 GB.
I'd like to scrub the drive, and re-install the OS to Leopard. What's the easiest way to do this...should I upgrade, then do a scrub and reinstall? Basically, I'd like the computer to as fresh as if...well, they were opening the box from Apple themselves. I'm most likely selling to a friend, but would still like to get all of my personal files off the machine anyway.
Any advice anyone could give me would be great!

Thanks! I just ordered a copy of Leopard, which I will provide to the buyer, along with the original Tiger disks should they decide to downgrade later on.
I'm not super worried about my data (since it'll most likely be someone I know), just want to make sure that she'll have a fresh computer to play with (she was planning on buying a new MB, but it'd help me out if she bought mine so I can get a new toy!!!)

Prepping iPhone for sale?

Looking through the support communities I see lots of problems when someone sells a iPhone, but does not prep it for sale. I know most know how to erase the iphone, but it seems with the newest IOS that people are not turning off all the security features, like logging out of iCloud, and turning off "Find My Phone". Does anyone, or has anyone posted a procedure on how to do this?? Just wondering?

Help Needed: Prepping a MacBook Pro for sale

I'm going to be selling my MacBook Pro 15", and I was wondering if there are any reference lists with steps to prepare the laptop, namely, how to:
- remove my own files;
- remove any identifying indications on any software;
- generally making sure that all of "me" is no longer on this laptop.
I appreciate any help, and welcome any tips beyond the topics above.

Prepare Your Mac for Sale
Boot from the OS X Installer Disc One that came with the computer. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities (Installer menu if using Panther or Jaguar) menu. After DU loads select the startup volume from the left side list then click on the Erase tab. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) then click on the Options button. Select the one pass Zero Data option and click on the OK button. Then click on the Erase button.
Note: You can skip the Zero Data option if you are not concerned about removing sensitive personal data from the hard drive. If you choose to skip this part of the process then it is possible for others to recover data from the hard drive. The Zero Data procedure will prevent others from getting access to your personal information.
This process will take 30 minutes to several hours depending upon the size of the hard drive. After formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Now complete the OS X installation. At the completion of the installation do not restart the computer. Instead just shut it off. The next user will be presented with the Setup Assistant when they turn on the computer just as it would if new out of the box.

ITunes on iPod Touch for India

iTunes is not available for India users. India account is not valid for any other country account.
App Store is available on iPod Touch... but when I think of iPod i think of Music and not applications.
Is it right that iPod = Music or did Apple change its policy for India?
I will be happy to have iTunes and able to buy music though iTunes.

Apple can only sell what the content rights holders will allow them to sell. If Apple hasn't been able to come to an agreement to legally sell music in India, then there will only be apps for sale. I'm not sure what you mean by

You can still put music on your iPod. iTunes allows you to rip your own CDs and transfer the music to your iPod. There may be other sites that offer downloadable music in India. I certainly buy downloads from other sites than the iTunes Store.

Does anyone know if Verizon still offers refurbished Verizon phones for sale? About 3 years ago my son broke his phone and I couldn't afford a brand new one but our local Verizon store gave me a list of a whole lot of refurbished phones and I ended up getting a very nice touch phone for him for only about $75. Our store is closed today so I don't know if they still have that or not.

Ho do i prepare my Motorola Droid for sale on eBay?

Just got my iPhone 4 today and plan on selling my Droid on ebay. What do I need to do to prep it for sale? I want to make sure all my personal info is off of it as well as make sure when they activate it it doesn't interrupt cell service on my iPhone.

Make sure everything you want is backed up from your sd card, go into Settings- SD Card & Phone Storage. Hit unmount SD card and Format SD Card when it shows up. Then mount the sd card back. To clear off the phone, go to settings-privacy and choose Factory Data reset. That should clear everything off.

No Yoga 3 14's for sale on web site?

I recently ordered a Yoga 3 14. It's in the "Released to Manufacturing" stage. Since ordering I've read about the screen issues and I am a little concerned. Now I notice there are no Yoga 3 14's for sale on the Lenovo web page. Have they halted production do to the screen issue? Am I just being paranoid? I'm not sure if I should open the box when it arrives or just send it back for a refund.

Your problem might be similar to this thread.
If you barely use the Touchscreen to navigate around, can you try these steps to disable the feature:
1. Press the Windows key‌ +R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter (this should open the Device Manager).
2. On the Device Manager, click View > Show Hidden Devices and under Human Interface Devices section, uninstall the HID-compliant device touch screen (this is the driver that controls the touchscreen).

3. When finished, reboot the system and observe.
If the above procedure works, you should be able to use the system normally but I recommend that you report the issue by contacting lenovo support.

Query for Sales Order Analysis

Dear Experts
I have written a Query for Sales Order Analysis and would like to have help on this.
The query is used for generating daily report for Sales Order on number of documents (Sales Order), total amount of sales orders and total GP of Sales Order. The query is written as below:
SELECT T0.[DocNum], SUM(T0.DocTotal) AS 'Total', SUM(T0.U_Total_GP) AS 'Total GP'
FROM ORDR T0 WHERE T0.[DocDate] =[%0] GROUP BY T0.[DocNum] ORDER BY T0.[DocNum]
where U_Total_GP is a UDF for storing the GP of each order.
After executing the query, a selection criteria of date appears and after a date is selected, the report shown information required. However, the query does not calculate column total for total amount and total GP. Although I know the total for each column can be displayed by pressing "Ctrl" + Click on the column title, it would have to be done from time to time.
Therefore, I would like to modify my query in order to calculate the column totals when executed. Are there any suggestions for this?

Workflow for Sales Order Release via Status Profile

Dear all,
i want to make a workflow for sales order which have 4 User Status in One status profile.
Once Event triggered for sales order
1.   Mail should go to main authority with sales order number.
2. Once authority will do some changes in the required field then he/she changes
     the user status-1 from defauts as per line Item and mail should go to department no-1 (Head authority).
3. Once again same changes in sales order but now user status-2 from user status-1
     as per line Item and mail should go to department no-2 (Head authority).
4. Once again same changes in sales order but now user status-3 from user status-2
     as per line Item and mail should go to department no-3 (Head authority).
5. Once again same changes in sales order but now user status-4 from user status-3
     as per line Item and mail should go to department no-4 (Head authority) .
and parrally for each changes of Status mail should also go to User (Event Creator).
6. Finally mail sholud go to User as you are permitted to do next business transaction for this sales order

First of all start with SWELS and SWEL T-Code to check if any standard event is getting triggered or not. If event is getting triggered, then use the same event to trigger the workflow; otherwise create a custom event of BO and use the same to trigger the workflow.
Hope you are aware of T-Code SWO1 and delegation of BO. The BO used for your requirement will be BUS2000115.
As you want the workflow to get triggered only for one status profile and one of its status, so use check function module. There set the condition for you status profile and status.
The FM which you will be using the most is CRM_ORDER_READ. To read the status, you can also use CRM_STATUS_READ_OW.
Now simply make the approval steps in the workflow using activity. In the activity, you can use the standard method USERSTATUSPOPUP to send the workitem for approval. In each step use the same activity with different agents as approvers.
Just go with these things and let me know if you get stuck up somewhere.

i need to eliminate leading zeros for PO number which comes in SO created trough ALE.i found the enhancement for the FM idoc_input_orders.in that enahancement we have 12 FM's.my Leading zeros are comming for field belnr which comes in e1edk01 segment of idoc orders05.now i had coded my part of coding in FM exit_saplved.._oo1 and i had activated that.but it is not working for me.than i tought of going to other FM exit_sapl..._009.in which i'm not able go into the include either.plz help me out.thank you.

With IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS during IDoc interpretation PO number is assigned to XVBAK-BSTKD field which is later used for sales order creation with reference to PO.
So all you need is to use some customer exit with changing parameters containing XVBAK after IDoc interpretation is completed. For example you can use EXIT_SAPLVEDA_009 which is called at the end of IDoc check after interpretation.

RBA GATP check is not getting invoked for Sales Order

Hi Everyone,
RBA GATP check is not getting invoked for Sales order.
I maintained the configuration settings for 'Rules-Based Availability Check', APO general settings (check mode, check instruction), carried out integrated rule maintenance, Rule determination for the combination of order type & product, associated the check mode to product master. Also maintained all the settings in ECC towards Req class, Req type, checking control etc.
However, sales order is not invoking RBA Check though it is showing up the 'Rule' icon in the screen. Also, in the APO Availability check in Sales order when I click onto 'check instruction', I get the checking mode that pertains to RBA for business event 'A' (Sales order). Though I have not maintained any stock for the main material for which I have the sales order, yet system is confirming any quantity that I put in.
I would expect that system would propose the same material in an alternate location where we have stock through RBA.
Request you to share ideas on this.

You should used No Checking Horizon in Checking instructions and also Check your rule control settings.
What you have defined in 1st and 2nd steps. Check whether product substitution is carried out or Location Substitution.
