Hi All,
In our Trex system we are facing a error in one of the log file
error is "PREPROCESSOR_ACTIVITY_ERROR (Code 8010) & a rfc communication failed
===>protocol mismatch found for table.
We have found various threads reg PREPROCESSOR_ACTIVITY_ERROR but for other codes not for 8010.
Please help, when we checked the target system all RFC's are working fine (trex system to R3 system and vice versa).
All connections in TREXADMIN tool are in green

Please perform the following steps.
Check from Backend system in SM59 connection for the perticular RFC is working fine thet you made in TREX to connect the backend system.
run runInstallationTest.py in the /usr/sap/SID/TRX**/exe/python_support by using the python script.
What all error you are haning in the trex you can dignost with python Script.

TREX: Return Code 8010 - Creating Connection Failed

Hi there,
I have uploaded a file in the repository and when I checked the queue it returned TREX: Preparation Failed. Checking on the TREX queue, it returned the code 8010 - Creating Connection Failed.
Any idea how to fix this issue?

PREPROCESSOR_ACTIVITY_ERROR-6401 for web repository

Hello,
We have web repositories which consist of http urls as well as
documents. The links appear properly in CM without errors in Comp monitor.But while indexing we get a preprocessor error "preparation failed HTTP status code 401 Unauthorised" .
The start page and system path for the website is a folder path on the webserver.for eg : \parent folder\folder1 .Is this because the index_service does not have access to this path.
But if I create a website for one of the individual links in this folder
ie \parent folder\folder1\doc1 then the document is indexed properly. This is the additional error code in the preprocessor log
*returning PREPROCESSOR_ACTIVITY_ERROR (Code 6401).
The index_service user is also not locked .
EP 7 SP13, Trex 7.0
Any ideas would be very much welcome.

Is it possible to integrate Sharepoint links only by using WebDav repository rather than a web repository?
The links which I am having a problem are all sharepoint 2007 links.
I even tried with a webdav repository but get the following error in CM after creating the http system and webdav RM.
+Authorization Required+
*The repository you are attempting to access requires specific permissions that you did not provide. Make sure you provide appropriate access information for this repository*.
The user specified also has necessary rights, and i can access the same link from the browser.What could be the problem.

TREX error - Code 6401

Hi all,
While indexing my KM documents i receive the following errors (on 410 files):

I've tried applying the note 650521 (add the entry unescape_url= no into the httpclient section of the TREXPreprocessor.ini) but that didn't help.
The other (thoused of) documents are indexed OK.

There is nothing special about those files - they are consistent from doc, xls, pdf and other types (nothing unusual). They vary in size and names (small and large, short and long).
Other files from the same directories are being indexed.
This is very strange.

Problem indexing with TREX

Hi guys,
We have some problems with our TREX system. This´s our environment:
- SAP Netweaver 7 - SP17 (SUN Solaris)
- SAP TREX 7 (Windows 2003 server)
- IIS 6 with SSO to File Server (SSO22Kerbmap configured)
The problem is that When indexing process is started, we detected that a lot of documents had preprocessing errors. We have in TREX log the following info for each file error:

- We have some errors in windows log about sso22kerbmap library. The text is 'Application failure: w3wp.exe, version:6.0.3790.3959, module: SSO22KerbMap.dll,version 1.1.0.8 ...'

Did you also create an Active Directory User for the user index_service ?

TREX indexing problem with PDF files

I use KM to access DMS with the "DMS Connector for KM".
I create an index on my DMS repository.
I have more then 8000 documents. Most of then are PDF files.
Only word document are indexed.
i have read and put in place OSS Note 1008299 and 1031193.
I have error message in trc file TrexPreprocessor :

New Pagelayout in Web page composer and TREX problem

Hello Experts-
I have created a custom page layout for web page composer pages. I havent included it any bundle file to, because we use it only for english language. Everything works as desired. But any new page created with this layout. System is not able to index it. Its fails to index with preparation failed error.
Does it have anything to do with the budnle file?
All other pages are getting indexed.
We are on EP 7.018 version of portal and same withh web page composer too.
Please let me know your thoughts.

I try to create a query with a where clause like this :
field = :1 or :1 = ' '
so the SQL is :
SELECT A.F1
FROM PS_TAB A

My problem is when I execute it, if I fill the prompt I have the message :
"A SQL error occurred. Please consult your system log for details.

If the trace files are giving a 6500 error which usually occurs if TREX
is indexing while the J2EE is not available. For example, TREX could
have been started before the J2ee had started up. Could you please
restart the J2ee engine. Once this has been done restart the TREX
services & try to reindex.

The errorcode 8005 seems to relate to links pointed to the objects
outside of the local network. You have to configure the proxy host
in the TREXPreprocessor.ini if you need to index these.
Please don't forget to add the local domain in the section
proxy rules in the same TREXPreprocessor.ini like
e.g.
[proxyrules]
sap-ag.de
sap.corp
For more information on configuring proxy please check the SAP Note

TREX search KM BI Repository

TREx 7.1
Portal 7.0
I have created and been using a KM BI Repository. This repository contains txt documents that are currently being accessed thru a KM Document IVIEW. I have recently implmented TREX 7.1 and I am having trouble finding anything in my repository using the search UI.
I have added indexes and taxonomies that point to the data source /bi_documents.
The search UI is available but finds nothing.
The TREX search can find Portal Documents.
I have also added to the Index Management Service the "Repository Manager" that is for my BI Repository.
Component Monitor is good and all green
TREX Monitor good.
My searchs still return nothing from my KM BI Repository.
I have researched and followed numerous documentation on repositories.
Any help or configuration document on KM BI Repositories would be appreciated.

I am using the standar crawler and it appears that the indexes are not being built due to a crawler error.

TREX not indexing document 10 KB

hi...
TREX search is working fine for documents < 10 KB but if i try indexing documents > 10 KB it gives prperation failed error.Please let me know what as to be done so that it indexes document > 10 KB

I installed an EP7/TREX SP10 two years ago. All worked fine until I decided to apply windows SP2 and some security patch. My machine is a win2003 x64.
Now EP7 works fine, but TREX in not able to reindex documents > 10kb.
Trex preprocessor trace says:

It seems to me that the portal is not able to pass user name to Trex (User: N/A) and then It is not authorized to retrive the documents.
I tried to change the user of indexmanager service "index_service"; to set the alternative host in url generator service. Nothing changed.

Reindex doesn't work

I have created a new index with 1 DataSource.
Reindex doesn't work. Index Monitor shows always
Pending 0 0 0
Queue fluching doesn't help. recreating index too.
It works only when I am uploading a new document(not PDF). With PDF Monitor shows Error Code 8010
Could anybody help me? Maybe my config is wrong

Have you checked TREX Monitor -> Display Queues? What info is displayed there?
Have you tried changing the Queue Server parameters, under TREX Monitor -> Edit Queue Parameters? Try to set the following values for an initial indexing:
Schedule Type: Count
Schedule Max Docs: 1
Synchronize Bulk Size: 1
Initial Indexing Mode: On

All efforts to index a repository in the enterprise portal have failed due to similar errors (the TREXPreprocessor-Trace file shows similar error messages and the same error code 14128).
Does anybody know what might be the problem here?

14128 = Operating system generated error
And in that case there are only two comments I can make:
1) Have you gone through the documented post installation tasks?
2) If 1=true, then log a support message to SAP, please.
