Use the yum utility to download the latest RPMs from Redhat network or configure a repository.

  • Trial install asks for disk to install - CS6 Master Suite

I installed the Master Suite collection quite a while ago on a previous computer with no problem. Now though, I'm being asked for a disk just to go through with a trial installation.
I'll clck on "trial" installation choice. I'll click on "next" and it'll look like it's going to install. However, after a few moments, it'll stop and ask me to insert the disk to continue. It's a trial, so what disk?

    what os?
what are the file names/extensions that you downloaded and are they all in the same directory?

  • Installing E-business suit on windows server 2003

    Hi guys,
    I m getting host/domain error at pre-installation checks..I don't have a lan connection so
    i did as following
added an entry in the host file
    127.0.01 esuit.learning.com
when i tried first it didnt give me this error but this installation threw an error at 80%. So i formatted my pc and trying to reinstall..
    any help appreciated..
    Thanks

You do not have to have a LAN or join a domain to install Oracle Apps, all what you need to do is:
    1) Install Microsoft Loopback adapter and define an IP address
How to install the Microsoft Loopback adapter in Windows XP
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839013
    2) Set a primary DNS suffix for the computer to have your domainname
Configure the primary DNS suffix for a client computer
    http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/ca53a3dd-d575-47a2-84ca-8dd88d2f07141033.mspx
You have to add the IP address and the hostname.domainname to your hosts file under (c:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc).
Once you are done, verify you can ping the hostname and hostname.domainname from the command prompt.

  • Un-install E-Business Suite 11.5.10

I want to de-install my whole VISION environment. I'm on Red Hat linux. I was reading thread #426271, and on page 8, it is mentioned that the quickest way to de-install EBS on Linux is to userdel users oracle and applmgr (or whatever they're called: oravis and applvis in my case) together with all the directories they own:
    userdel -R applmgr
    userdel -R oracle
But I'm wondering.... is that enough? What about the entries and directories made by the install process in /etc/ (like oraInst.loc, and oratab, or the oraInventory directory). And is there anything else?
Is there a handy script that would also remove all entries made by the EBS install process outside the normal database and apps directories?
    Thanks
    M.

    OK, so just to recap:
    - userdel -R oracle
    - userdel -R applmgr
    - rm -R /etc/ora*
and that will be enough? I mean, there's no entries in any other files that would remain and cause problems?
Sorry am being a bit thick but just want to get the process nailed.
    Thanks,
    M.

    To run the AD menu
    1) ADADMENNEW.cmd is located on
    D:\visdb\9.2.0\bin\
When I tried to execute adadmin.cmd it does not execute.
that is why, I tried to execute ADADMENNEW.cmd to run AD menuYou should source the env file under %APPL_TOP% to run adadmin (not the one under %RDBMS_ORACLE_HOME%
Why do you need to run adadmin?
What is the advantage of running AD menu?Check "Maintaining Oracle Applications Documentation Set"

  • E Business Suite 11i Server Spec for Linux?

Does anyone know, or can suggest possibilities, of a server spec for 11i on Linux. This is for a small company installation of 11i.
Where can I go to ansewer questions like this?
What Linux distributions are supported for 11i?
I was thinking of multiple CPU's, highpoint raid controllers to give RAID 0+1, and 1 or 2 Gb of memory.
    thanks
    Dave Darrall.

    Jimmy,
Our E-business suite 11i has been running on the application tiers RHEL 4, due to the requirement to support large memory configurations on a 32-bit system.  Is it true that from RHEL 5, the “hugemem” kernel which achieves this 32-bit memory scalability has been deprecated in favour of the use of 64-bit kernels?
Your 11i application tier will be limited to 32-bit even if you install 32-bit OS on x86-64 hardware.
Our Oracle 11g database is running on RedHat Linux 5.8. Is E-Business suite 11i (application tiers) certified to run on RHEL 5.8?
    Yes.
Also for future planning, is E-Business suite 12 (application tiers) certified to run on which versions of RedHat?

  • Install Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 Media Pack to Windows Server

    Hi,
I am completely new to Oracle - I have used My SQL in the past and I am coming from a windows Background. I have just downloaded Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 Media Pack for Microsoft. Now this has gave me about 30+ Zip folders - how do I install this? I would be used to seeing/running just a simple setup.exe file. Is this not the case? I have attempted to read online about how to do this - I have read the following link - http://oraclelabs.com/index.php/2011/05/19/installing-oracle-applications-e-business-suite-r12-on-windows-xp-windows-2003-server/
I wish to install to Windows Server2008 R2
Now it mentions downlaoding Cygwin, Perl, etc. Do I need to do all this in order to install - all the files that are zipped up - where/how should they all be extracted too - under one common folder, etc - apologies if this is very trivial.
If any more information is required I would be happy to provide.
    Many Thanks

Please see the other thread -- Re: How To Install E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 Media Pack On Windows Server
