Prerequisites for activating text search in cv04n

Hi all.
To activate the text search in CV04N do we need TREX  installation? Pls let me know what are all we need to do to have this option activated..
Kind Regards,
Nidhi.

Hi harish.
Thanks for quick turn around.. I am new to dms & just creating some dms document using cv01n & attaching a word document in it. We ar not doing chek in cv01n ( i suppose chek in is to store the document in sap , we dont have content server also) & not maintaing objects links also .Just attaching the document present in pc.
My requirement is to search the dms documents in CV04n TX coe based on the content present inside these attachments.
I suppose this can be done using text search option in CV04N.But it is  not active in CV04N Tx Code.
My question to u is, do we need TREX installation to activate this.. (Remember I am just attaching the word doc in CV01 by picking it from PC, Not storing in SAP or anywhere else..). Pls let me know .....
Kind Regards,
Nidhi.

  • Verification of prerequisites for Active Directory preparation failed

We currently have Windows Server 2003 SBS, SP2, Domain Controller. Would like to add Windows Server 2012, Standard, 64-bit as a backup domain controller.
"Verification of prerequisites for Active Directory preparation failed. Unable to perform Exchange schema conflict check for domain sxxxx.local.
Exception: The RPC server is unavailable.
Adprep could not retrieve data from the server name.xxxxx.local through Windows Managment Instrumentation (WMI).
    [User Action]
Check the log file ADPrep.log in the C:\Windows\debug\adprep\logs\20130417103902-test directory for possible cause of failure."
What the log says is really:
"Adprep encountered a Win32 error. Error code: 0x6ba Error messa The RPC server is unavailable."
Can anyone has similar experience shred some lights to troubleshoot this? Have reviewed
other links that have similar probems but that doesn't help.
    Many Thanks!

Of course I CANNOT remove Symnatec as Meinolf suggests. That would be out of my mind!! I tried to stop all their services though which doesn't help. I know this has nothing to do with Symantec. Here comes another test, the final one:
    Test 8
This article is really good as it concludes very thoroughly about the problems about "800706BA - RPC Server Is Unavailable" and other WMI query issues:
    http://goo dot gl/l2iha
I started looking at he ISA 2004 on our SBS 2003.
Tried to disable the RPF Filter:
    a. Open Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2004
    b. Go to Configuration > Add-in and location RPC Filter on the right side, right-click on it and select Properties, uncheck 'Enable this filter'
    c. Hit Apply....
    d. Now I go back to Windows 7 and test the WMI query.
    The result: it WORKS!
    e. Next, I tried that on the Windows Server 2012 like so:
    c:>wmic /node:sbs2003servername computersystem list brief /format:list
    It also works!
    f. Next also on Windows Server 2012, I continued on what was left over.  I did the "Rerun prerequisites check " and no surprise - "All prerequisite checks passed successfully. Click 'Install' to begin installation"!
Well that concludes the problem of installing Windows Server 2012 (standard) as a backup domain controller to a Windows SBS 2003 domain controller and the  troubleshooting process that finally led to a solution that solves my problem. Thanks for all
the discussions over the web. Every bit counts!
Well if this helps you in some way, give me some points to buy beer! I am going to have a drink with Bill, Cheers!

  • "Filter/partition key" for full-text searching

    Hi there,
We have a challenge whereby we have a table of products by store, each store having say 200,000 products.  Basically, for each store, we want to allow searching by product name.  The best solution for this is to have full-text searching, but there
is no way to have a "filter" or "partition" key on the store ID.
So in essence what happens, the full-text search scans the entire full-text catalog for the products, then it uses the primary key to match to the table and then filters out the other stores.  Considering we have hundreds of stores in the table, this
    is not a good solution.
We contemplated adding separate indexed views and full-text catalogs for every store, but this would be a nightmare to manage.
I was expecting to see some sort of a "partition by Column" in the full-text indexes, but it doesn't exist.  This basically means we have to scrap full-text and look for a third party solution.
Does anyone have any idea how we could achieve this with just standard SQL full-text searching?

    Hi Adam,
Thank you for your question.  I am trying to involve someone more familiar with this topic for a further look at this issue. Sometime delay might be expected from the job transferring. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

  • Full text search in Filenet via SAP DMS

    Hello experts,
Hopefully you can help me with the following. My customer has SAP DMS and uses FileNet (v4.0) as content repository. They use Verity as tool for full text search (SAP and non-SAP). Verity has it's own user interface / search screen. Question is if it is possible for SAP (easy)DMS users to do full text search (via CV04N or EasyDMS searchscreen) and search in the FileNet repository (directly with TREX or via Verity). The customer has the ACSAP connector up and running.
I've implemented TREX with SAP content server and index server before, but I'm not familiar with FileNet possibilities in that area, so hopefully someone has experience with this?

  • Preparing Full Text Search(TREX)

    Dear Guru.
We have installed a search engine such as TREX and RFC Connection is completed. I have entered the document class DMS_PCD1 in T. code (SKPR07) and click the button in “Test search” but no result found.
I have also checked the full text search through cv04n but I found the error (Technical error with document full text search, contact system admin).
Kindly also send me the creating index step by step for DMS.
Need your help in urgent basis.

I'm sorry to recheck but I have to be sure about this.
What you are telling me is that, if a user doesn't have read permissions for a given document in SAP ECC Document Management System  (documents stored in transactions such as CV01N) results won't show up in the TREX search?

  • TREX Full Search via CV04N Displays DIR Hits While EasyDMS Search Shows All

    Hello All,
I've searched for information on this and have not yet located an answer so I hope this has not already been addressed even though I think it is somewhat basic.  We have recently installed EasyDMS and TREX to enhance our existing DMS capabilities.  In our testing, we have found that EasyDMS's Full Text capability through TREX is reporting and displaying hits at the document file level whereas DMS CV04N Full Text capability is only showing hits at the document info record level.  Is there something that we have missed for the DMS CV04N capability to not display in the same fashion as the EasyDMS search capability?  For those users using CV04N, they will be disappointed to only find that the hit was at the DIR level and forcing them to find the document file that really contains the hit if multiple files exist in a DIR.
    Thanks - RIchard.

    Hi,
According to Metalink note 871388.1: " The weblayout file is what typically gets indexed for full text searching". it is possible to set some parameters in order the native file to be indexed but the note says nothing about indexing the alternative file.

Currently we are looking at the integration of UCM and Webcenter. Can u please guide us in doing a full text search using UCM.
The steps we followed for full text search is
    1. Stopped the Content Server service.
    2. On the Content Server's file system, navigated to search folder in Content Server Installed Path and altered activeindex.hda with the entry change verity.1 to IdcColl1
    3. Renamed all files under the following locations:
    CS\search\lock
    CSsearch\update
    CS\search\rebuild
    4. Started the Content Server service
    5. Logged into CS and rebuilt the indexes from repository manager and restarted the CS from Admin Server Page
Please let me know if any of the steps is wrong or any more components need to be added.
We get no errors on doing fulltextsearch but we do not any result (displays "found 0 potential items").
    Thanks in advance!

  • Building the sample prefilter for full-text seach

    Hi.
I'm struggling with the sample prefilter for full-text search in SA12. The problem is that the build.bat isn't producing any output files.
I am completely blank on C++, and I have only barely gotten the build.bat to run without errors, but that is obviously not enough.
If anybody could build the files for me, it would be nice, but even better is if there was an working VS solution, or at least some more documentation on how to build this thing.
    Thanks.

    Hello again tNeeson!
You are a few builds behind the current build. I would advise bringing your server up to current build 9.00.5324.
If you patch the servers and try again and see if the build works this time, I know there were 3 cumulative patches between your build and the current. Check out the below link
    http://sqlserverbuilds.blogspot.co.uk/
I'm sure you can get someone to patch it for you if you aren't the one in control of the patching ;-)

Does anyone know how to do a text search in the new Safari for iPad iOS 7?

The feature has been removed to make safari even less useable. You need to download a third party browser like atomic web browser to get the functionality you want back.
Like many new IOS 7 "features", safari on the ipad is a FAIL.
At least you can now bury safari in a folder containing hundreds of icons that you can only view 9 at a time.

  • Text wrap for a paragraph: How to define the width of a Text box /  active text area? I simply need a longish text to wrap within the frame!

Hello, I've been searching for a good while in the forums now, but have found no solution or real mention of the problem – I hope some of you can help.
I want to very simply layout a text between scenes, a slightly longer text that wraps within the frame margins. Here's an example of how I want it to look:
Now, I couldn't for the life of me get the Custom Text to behave like that, as there are no parameters to set for the width of the text area. The Text Size, yes, along with the Tracking, Baseline and all that, but the width of the text box, no. The above was created by customizing one of the other Text Generator presets that happened to be left aligned.
However, this preset has a fade in/fade out transition, which I do not want. There's no way to remove this transition as it seems integrated into the Text Generator (meaning they are not really presets, but separate kinds of Text objects? Very silly.)
So I am asking you: Is there any way to get the Custom Text generator to behave like that? Just a text paragraph as above. Below you'll see all I can manage with the diffferent Custom Text parameters. Any kind of repositioning and resizing of the text just changes the position and size of the frame – but the actual text items are just cropped off where they extend out of that frame. Apparently the bounding box for the text is just some default length, and I can't find any way to adjust the width. See below my different attempts.
The same text pasted into a Custom Text generator clearly extends outside the frame:
Here Transform just moves – or resizes – the video frame that the Text Box exists inside:
The Crop gives similar results, and of course Distort doesn't get me closer to what I need, either. There should be simply a Text Box Width parameter to set somewhere, but if it exists they have hidden it very well. How do you do it?
Thanks for any help, this is a silly problem, but one of now many trivial problems that amount to me growing quite dissatisfied with FCPX. Hopefully I've just overlooked something.
    All the best,
    Thomas

    Thomas...same kind of crap here.
I used Custom Text - entered a sentence, hit return, entered another.
    Set to 72 pt.
The default alignment is centred - I want left aligned text...the text start point stays at the centre of frame and the sentence runs off the edge of the bounding box.
There is no settings in the Text or Title inspector dialog to correct that!
Using Transform will not sort it!
