Prerequisites for SAP CRM

Dear Friends,
I need your valuable suggestions.  Briefly, about my background.  I have over 13years of IT experience on Mainframes with Insurance domain(Auto, Home, Commercial etc.,).  Currently working as Project Manager.  I am planning jump onto SAP Ladder.  Based on my little research I think SAP CRM and SAP SCM are doing/picking very good in market.  Please advise, what's the prerequisites for both courses.  I appreciate your help.
Prerequisites for SAP SCM?
Prerequisites for SAP CRM?
Thanks,
Ramesh

Hi Saumya
Thanks for your response, but we are into CRM 5.0 and using IC Webclient application for Call Center.
I have seen the first link before, and if you could refer some documentation relevant IC Weblcient CTI integration, it would be a great help to me.
And the questions I raised are to get the clear understanding before going to the huge documentation. I prefer to receive simple and straight solutions to my concerns.
Your points will be highly appreciated
Best regards

    http://service.sap.com/patches
    --> SAP Application Components
    --> SAP CRM
    --> SAP CRM 7.0
    --> Entry by Component
    --> CRM Application Server ABAP
    --> SAP CRM ABAP 7.0
    --> Support Packages
    Scroll down and see the latest patches. If you click on the text you'll see the problems fixed.
    Support packages are by definition a collection of patches and fixes for problems, however, there may be small improvements in certain areas.

  • SQVI Report for SAP CRM Product Hierarchy and its Product

    Hi
    How to create a SQVI report for generating a list for SAP CRM Product Hierarchy which should show the outputs->Level 1, level 2, level 3 and level 4 categories and its products?
    I tried COMM_Hierarchy table and Comm_product but not able to achieve this requirement.
    or Is there any chance of getting related tables so that I could try more for this requirement.
    In which table both product id and its category Id can be found?
    Pravin

    Thanks DJ
    Is there any possibility to get a report for product hierarchy in SQVI ?
    say in SAP CRM system, the product category is maintained in COMM_HIERARCHY as
    Parent category Id->
                                    Level2 Category Id->
                                                                     Level 3 Category Id->
    Level 4 category Id ->
    Product Id's
    (I understood the link between Level 4 category id and product id with your info.) but not able to achieve the requirement fully.
    Is there any possiblity to achive for generateing a report?

    Hi Everyone,
    Please be advised that SAP is hosting a workshop in San Francisco, July 15 - 16:

    Best regards,
    John

    Hi,
    First - the basic post installation steps are:
    1. sick t-code need to execute
    2. se06 --> Perform Post-Installation Actions
    3. RZ10 --> Utilities --> Import profiles --> Of active servers
    4. execute sgen T-code --> This will take some time
    5. setup STMS
    6. create client (If custom required)
    7. Take backup of the system
    For the solution manager client you could use the default created '001' client.
    Next you need to run the solman_setup template which 'sets up' the SolMan for usage.
    Follow config guide at: https://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700000308502009E.PDF
    For installing the ECC system, only a install key(from SMSY) is to be generated from SolMan. But if you want to use the SolMan effectively, suggest you to run the entire solman_setup.

  • Prerequisites for SAP XI installation?

    Hi,
    Could any one help me out to know the prerequisite for SAP XI installation?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Yaseen Mahammad.

    HI Yaseen,
    The prerequisite for SAP XI installation are
    1> You just require to have a WAS (WEB APPLICATION SERVER 6.40 ) installed  with a ABAP stack as well as java stack.
    2> You need to have a SLD installed.It can be on same or different system.
    Its better if you follow the Master installable.
    If you are installing XI 2004s it asks you for all the options in a sequence , for which all components you wish to install(eg. XI or MI etc) on your WAS.

  • Roles in BP for SAP CRM 4.0 6.2.2.

    I have imported the business package for SAP CRM 4.0 6.2.2 in the portal (EP 6.0 SP2).
    After the import of other business packages the roles provided with the BP could be connected to a group or user by user administration > roles.
    I cannot find the roles provided with the BP CRM 4.0.  When i look in the directory structure on the server, there are plenty of roles in the folder
    ... > import > business package for sap crm 4.0_6_2_2 > roles.
    I have copied some roles to other folders, but still i don't see them in the portal.
    Where can i find these roles, or what do i have do to get the roles shown to me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Timo

    Hello,
    I have looked in the logfile. I get an object content list where all the roles are mentioned.
    Furthur on in the log file it says that the migration of the .par's is succesful. But for some .ivu's i get the warning: The PAR file: com.sapportals.km.par containing profile: 'navigation' was not deployed prior to IVU handling, no template iView can be created ,path searched : par:/applications/com.sapportals.km/components/navigation
    This warning is followed by the error (severe) Object was not migrated: Import of iView: com.sap.pct.crm.infocenter.news.AuthorPartnerCompany Failed !
    I get this for several .ivu's. All for com.sapportals.km.par.
    Since is have had no error on a .par i suspect that i should have imported/installed something else first. But what?
    Now i will miss some iviews en pages but i think i should get something since a lot of iviews and pages are migrated successful.
    However, in the logfile nothing, beside in the object content list, is mentioned about roles. But i get something about a rolecopier:
    The object /com.sap.pct.crm.pad.RoleCopier.ivu is defined for skipping in cms_mapping.properties.
    Followed by
    SUCCESS: Object was skipped.
    And something about a checkrole:
    The object /com.sap.pct.crm.pad.RoleCheck.ivu is defined for skipping in cms_mapping.properties.
    Followed by
    SUCCESS: Object was skipped.
    It looks like that this is OK.
    And .... later on in the logfile i get the following serie of messages:
    - PCD lookup for page: portal_content/com.sap.portal.migrated/ep_5.0/pages/com.sap.pct.crm.pad.RoleCopier did not find target ,Exception message: Child not found: com.sap.pct.crm.pad.RoleCopier at portal_content/com.sap.portal.migrated/ep_5.0/pages, The page will be created
    - Page com.sap.pct.crm.pad.RoleCopier was created successfully!
    - WARNING: iView com.sap.pct.crm.pad.RoleCopier Was skipped
    - Page layout name is com.sap.portal.fullWidth
    - SUCCESS: Object was created successful. page id : com.sap.pct.crm.pad.RoleCopier, page title : Role Copier
    And the same for the RoleCheck.pag
    When i imported the support package for the business package i got 2 roles (com.sap.cnt.crm.container.sapcrm40.all and com.sap.cnt.crm.crm_default_services). I have assigned these 2 roles to a group, but i don't see a new tab.
    In the logfile for the support package i get for each rol within the rol SAPCRM40.All the WARNING: StructureObject.handle_Link(/roles/com.sap.pct.crm.container.SapCRM40.All/Customer): The target object of the link (source object) is not available. You can ignore this message if the target object will be migrated later.
    Followed by SUCCESS: StructureObject.handleLink(): DeltaLink to portal_content/com.sap.portal.migrated/ep_5.0/roles/com.sap.pct.crm.Customer was created successfully.
    The migration of SAPCRM40.All ends with
    SUCCESS: Role com.sap.pct.crm.container.SapCRM40.All was migrated successfully.
    What is happening here?
    Why don't i have the par com.sapportals.km.sap?
    What is going wrong with the roles?
    Greetings,
    Timo

  • Prerequisites for SAP NW BPM implementation

    Hi All,

    Hi,

  • Recommended screen resolution for SAP CRM 2006s/5.2

    Hi All
    Any idea that what is the recommended screen resolution by SAP for SAP CRM 2006s / .2 Web UI ?
    Thanks & Regards
    Vishal Mani

    Hello Vishal,
    This is John Burton, the guy who created the note that Stephen referred to (SAP note 764974). I don't think you will get a general recommendation from SAP regarding screen resolution and/or browser size requirement for a number of reasons. (The following are just my thoughts and don't necessarily represent the official views of SAP or anyone else).
    1) Screen resolution is a somewhat personal choice varying by user and preference.
    2) Technology changes very frequently and large wide-screen high-resolution monitors are becomming increasingly available.
    3) The CRM WebClient supports a variety of different business roles and types of users; it is conceivable for example that an Interaction Center agent might be able to get by with a fairly small, low-resolution monitor while an analyst or supervisor might need two separate wide-screen high-resolution monitors in order to have various reports and other applications open at once.
    4) And of course, no company wants to play the "bad guy" and make end users angry by giving a recommendation for very low-end, small low-resolution VGA monitors, or risk upsetting CFOs by giving a recommendation for very expensive wide-screen high-resolution LCD monitors
    I'm sorry that I couldn't give you a more "official" answer.
    Warm regards,
    John

  • Rapid Deployment Solution for SAP CRM - Landscape

    Hi
    For the first time we have applied the Rapid Deployment Solution for SAP CRM ITSDO into our new DEV system.  The activation of this RDS creates 2 transports  (one WORKBENCH, one CUSTOMIZING)
    I now need to apply the RDS to our QA and PRD systems - is it enough to just transport the 2 transports or do I need to do the entire activation again in both QA and PRD systems?
    I would really appreciate any assistance here.
    Thanks

    Hi Leigh,
    Just wondering how you got on with those transports.. Was it sufficient for you to release the Solution Builder transports to target system or did you need to carry out manual activities in the target system?
    Also, What did you do with regard to activating the reporting client in the target system? did the transport take care of everyting?
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Vedios lessons for sap crm

    Hi All,
    Please let me know if anyone can provide me some vedios lessons for sap crm .
    Any links also is fine ( any topices).
    Highly appreciated .

    Hi,
    I guess you are interested in learning about SAP CRM Service. The best way is to try it on a IDES System that is available. Start with CR700 and then work your way through that. It will give you much better feel of SAP CRM than watching the videos. You can of course watch the videos if at all they are available, but that would hardly help as you will get the real understanding once you start working in SAP.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Samantak.

  • Best Practices Guide for SAP CRM 7.0 on Paymetrics Integration

    Hello Experts
    It would be of great help if someone can guide us to any available Best Practices Guide for SAP CRM 7.0 on Paymetrics Integration.
    We are working with SAP CRM 7.0 together with an ECC system connected to it. We are looking at both Authentication as well as Payment part of Paymetrics.
    I am interested in the following:
    -> Architecture involving ECC, SAP CRM 7.0 and Paymetrics.
    -> The Customizing/Configurations/Enhancements needed to integrate Paymetrics (ECC / SAP CRM 7.0 / WebShop Admin / XCM).
    -> Storage of Credit Card data (whether in ECC or CRM or none).
    -> Authentication process (whether needed in both ECC as well as CRM).
    -> Payment process.
    -> Recurring payments (B2B scenario).
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Test data for SAP CRM 7 ( Activites )

    Hi
    my first question belongs to the datatables in SAP CRM 7. I would like know which table is important for "Activities".
    I see that many tables are empty, is there a transaction code or function to generate testdata?!
    greetings hassan

    Hassan,
    If you have a CRM functional/development expert on site, please have them walk you through basics of using SAP CRM and how to generate data.  It is not the intent of the forums to train you on how to use CRM.
    For your database question your developer resource would have told you an activity is what is called a "business transaction" and the primary header table is CRMD_ORDERADM_H.
    I strongly suggest you review some of the materials outlined in my blog before posting any further CRM related questions, or at least searching in the CRM General & Framework forum for general CRM questions that are not release specific.
    /people/stephen.johannes/blog/2009/05/12/how-to-answer-what-is-a-bdoc
    I'm locking this thread due to the fact it will become an attraction for "hunters".
    Thank you,
    Stephen

  • Need help in getting information/training material for SAP CRM (Functional)

    Hello,
    I am a SD Consultant.
    I want to learn SAP CRM (Functional) on my own without going to any training institute or some thing.
    Therefore, can anyone help me in forwarding the link(s) or document(s) with which I can learn about SAP CRM (Functional).
    I want information/training material regarding SAP CRM 7.0 (on system/software working, not the general information, for example- why CRM, where CRM, etc)
    For example, about org data, org structure, possible scenarios, etc.
    Thanks in advance for spending your valuable time for me.

    Hi Chaitanya,
    Since You are already a SD Consultant, We assume you are very much familliar with SAP and for you CRM will also be not a big Deal.
    Customer Relationships Management (CRM) is a model for managing any Organization's interaction with current and future customers. It involves technology to organize, automate and synchronize SALES, SERVICES(postsales) AND MARKETING(presales).
    First of all you need to get SAP CRM installed in your system and then you need to get command over Account and Contact Management (Business Partner). The same can be learned using WebUI or GUI. From GUI the transaction launcher is WUI then web page opens up enter your credentials and select Role - Salespro. Open the Account and Contact section and do some R&D and you can learn. But in GUI you need to go to SPRO -> IMG -> Cross Application Components -> SAP Business Partner -> Business Partner -> Basic Settings -> Number Ranges & Groupings -> Define Number Ranges. Here you have defined number range then you need to assign to some group created from SPRO same way. And Finally maintain Business Partner using Tcode - BP.
    Then You Learn Organizational Management which allows us to map our marketing, sales, service structure maintaining company's structure including the position and Employees in an Application and assign specific attributes to the otganizational units.
    Path: SPRO -> IMG -> CRM -> Master Data -> Organizational Management -> Organizational Model -> Create Org Model/Change org model.
    Just Go ahead and with some more R&D in the system and taking of F1 Help of SAP Documentation I think you can easily learn SAP CRM.

    Piyush
