Prerequisites for Visual Composer

What are the software components and the service packs required to create an application using Visual composer in ECC 6.0

hi ,
u have portal Url (http://abcdef:50000/irj/portal) .Right .
just Remove irj/portal in tht url
just type : http://abcdef:50000/VC(capital) -> click on Enter .
your story board appears  there if you have msxml , adobe svg Viewer , flash player installed in your syetm .
Then Go to find data -> U will see there Sytem aliases u have created in portal -> just select your system alias name there -> then go to > Serach bewow -> type your bapi name -> clik on search your bapi name appears there . -> just Drag the Bapi to Story Board .
u can design your application accodring your requirement .

    Also, please check if you have Adobe SVG Viewer 3.0 and MSXML 4.0. These are reqd for VC

    i read that use this  parameter in visual Administrator.

    SQL and MDX Editor functionality is available in Visual Composer in the following ways:
    ● On the BI → SQL Editor and BI → MDX Editor menus.
    ● In the workspace, from the context menu of a relational or OLAP query from a data
    service defined using one of the BI Java Connectors mentioned above.
    ● In the MDX Statement and SQL Statement fields on the input ports of corresponding
    data services, which allow you to send query statements to the databases.
    For security purposes, the SQL and MDX Editor functionality is turned off by default in Visual
    Composer. Therefore, if you try to access it, the following message is displayed: You are not
    authorized to use this functionality.
    To enable SQL and MDX Editor functionality, use the following parameters in the Visual
    Administrator:
    ● vc.bi.sqlEditorEnabled - SQL Editor and SQL Statement from input port are visible
    ● vc.bi.mdxEditorEnabled - MDX Editor and MDX Statement from input port are visible
    Change document logging is not available with the SQL or MDX Editors; only
    database logging (SQL Editor) or OLAP server logging (MDX Editor) is
    available.
    Warning:
    Significant caution should be taken when using the SQL and MDX Editor
    functionality, to avoid the potential for corrupting data and to prevent users from
    viewing data that they are not authorized to see.
    To prevent potential security risks, we urge the database administrator to restrict
    user authorization on any data source defined on the portal using the BI JDBC
    Connector, BI ODBO Connector, or BI XMLA Connector. We recommend that
    you set the proper authorizations for your users on the database level, and that
    you use dialog users (individual database user names) for user mapping on the
    portal.
    Note that if you enable this functionality and save models that expose SQL and
    MDX statement fields on the input ports of data services, these fields, and hence
    the potential security risks, will persist in the models even if you later disable this
    functionality. In addition, the fields persist in models that you export and import
    into a Visual Composer system in which the functionality is disabled. We therefore
    recommend you carefully consider security risks before enabling this functionality.

  • Creating web service system for Visual Composer

    Hello,
    I seem to have made some changes that made my unable to create web service systems for Visual Composer. 
    The change I made is in NetWeaver Administration > Configuration > Application Resources > WebServicesFactory, I added the Configuration Property "UseCacheByDefault" with Boolean value = true. 
    After this, if I create a web service system in Enterprise Portal, the Connection Tests fail.  In Visual Composer when I define a web service system, the error I am getting is: "Connector Factory not found for value WebServicesFactory".
    I have tried to delete the UseCacheByDefault property I added as well as restart the server but I am still getting the error.
    However when I test my web service using the Web Services Navigator, I am not getting any problems.  So my guess is the problem lies with the connection factory.
    Can anyone help me with this issue?

    Since creating WS system in the portal resulted with failed connection test, the issue has nothing to do with VC.
    I'm just guessing, but try to configure proxy in the J2EE engine.
    If that doesn't help I suggest you raise this question in the portal forum.

  • Future for Visual Composer

    A consultant told our department manager that SAP was not going to enhanse Visual Composer; that it would only get bug fixes.  I think he may have confused 7.0 with 7.1/7.2.  Is there a future for Visual Composer or is it a waste of time.

  • Solution for Visual composer error: 32k span and 64k byte limit

    Dear friends,
    I am getting the error in visual composer 32k span and 64k byte limit since last half year,
    some time error will get resolved by adding layer in to model OR adding some table and form to model OR reduce the animation effect OR even by doing tab strip view for layer model, doing nested ivew.
    but this solution not usefull for every time.
    what should we do for this error(32k span and 64k byte limit),
    is it solved by updating EP version or by EP java stack or any other updates which will solve the This VC error.
    64k error i am getting is:
    +Error in compiling Flex application: Error: A function in the code exceeds the 64K byte limit (actual size = '65570'). Since the problem occurs in the compiler-generated deferred instantiation code, please refactor/componentize portions of this document.

    I think it's better to post this question into the Visual Composer forum. Anyway, the 32k/64k bug is solved with the flex2 server which is already released.

  • Where to get the par file for visual composer application?

    Hi Gurus,
    I have referred few forum postings about transporting VC iview .
    to do that first we have to deploy the par file of the Visual composer application into the target system(QA & Prod) where ever we want to import it........
    Now my query is I went to System admin->support-Portal runtime->Root Folder-->Portal apps........
    where i have seen my Visual composer application name and otpion to download when I downloeded it it has downloded in unknown format............can i deploy this to SDM of the target system?
    Or I need to change the file format into par or par.bak file?
    please tell me how to go about it.........

    Hi Dharani,
    Tools --> Options --> Compiler --> Check box deploy for par and mention the namespace and vendorname in the PAR prefix name
    Very similar to how its done in NWDS.

  • Problem changing ALL the colours for Visual Composer

    Hi All,
    <b>To set the scene:</b>
    I have SP13 installed.
    I have created a Visual Composer model, selected the option "Enabling styling of flex controls in portal themes", and deployed it.
    Then gone into the Portal > System Admin > Portal Display > Theme Editor > Selected the correct theme > Visual Composer > Flex Runtime Controls
    Then changed all the colours
    <b>The Problem:</b>
    I cannot change <b>ALL</b> the colours. There is this blue box that borders all the form headers which i cannot seem to change. I have provided a link to a screenshot below.

    The field that I would assume fixes this ("Border Color of View Header") seems to have no effect?
    Anyone also had this problem or know of a solution?

    I have been searched for the document about SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer. Mostly they are about IT scenario and features. We heard that it is highly-graphic supported, code-free and provide modeling for business logic. But we are looking for clear ideas about what is the business scenario it can be applied and what s the best circumstance to recommend business users use visual composer. Can anyone provide us documents or idea about it?

    Hi Szu-Fen,
    as you already mentioned, VC is designed for code-free applications. These applications normally consume data from different sources and visualize this information in an "easy to understand" manner. They are called management cockpits. An example for such a management cockpit can be found here:

    The new version of Visual Composer are very attractive due to the use of Macromedia Flex technology. However, it seems still not avaliable now. So, I would like to ask if there is any alternative to Visual Composer that:
    a) has an attractive user interface, and
    b) able to get realtime data from, for example, BW by means of connector?

    Thanks for your reply!
    BI Java Connector can only extract real time information from BW.
    However, what I want is an applcation which I can extract real time information from BW and then can generate some financial reports (through some pre-configuration) using those extrected information.
    Visual Composer (VC) can do so with very attractive output (i.e. the financial report). However, VC is not mature enough and that's why I would like to look for some other mature alternative.
    Is there any application can achieve such purpose?

  • BAPI table input parameters for Visual Composer not working?

    I am using a BAPI with table input parameters (2 input fields for the table). I tested the BAPI in ecc function builder (it works as planned).  However, it doesn't work in Visual Composer using the same input values (not getting any error messages).  Is this a bug in VC 7.0?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    The data service at a time  can execute only one input data.
    it will not handle too many inputs at time otherwise all the input ports should have same submit action then it is possible to Execute multiple input forms data .
    When you are mapping the input form and the dataservice ,give the same event like this *submit for both Inputforms

    but the code will be automatically  generated by tool ..
    i think that and uml code + xml . will be generated ..
    according to my idea  its not possible to add new code ...

    No it hasn't... We are talking about the main server part of VC and it haven't been changed for quite a while.
    In order to get this functionality, you need to set the permissions on the VC broker (the server part) to accept requests from a guest user. This causes a very big security hole in your application, because this means that anyone can run BAPIS/WebServices/JDBC SP on your data.

    I am using VC 6.0 patch 4 and want to configure BI XMLA system . I got the document on "How to configure BI JDBC system for VC", but not able to find any help for configuring XMLA system.
    Also I have created the system using "com.sap.portal.systems.BIUDI" par file for XMLA, but not able to fill the required parameters properly.
    So anyone of u have done this before plz send me the help or  document link.Also if u want, u can send me the document on "[email protected]"

    Give the following properties for the system you create using BIUDI par file - XMLA.
    Connection Properties:
    Data Source Name: <Name of the data source>
    Server URL: http://<BW Server:port>/sap/bw/xml/soap/xmla
    Statefulness : <can leave it blank>
    User Management Properties:
    if you do not have SAP Logon Tickets set up then maintain the user mapping field.

  • Visual Composer 7.0 - Change the Y-axis from decimal scale to integer

    Hi Experts,
    I'm new in Visual Composer 7.0, my report is work fine, but when I want to show the data in bar-chart, the values on y-axis are 0.0, 0.4.0.8,1.2,1.6.2.0 but i want like 1,2,3,4.
    Normally, this happen when values on y-axis less than 5, if more than 5, it will turn to 1,2,3,4. (which i expected)
    Inside my function module, I set all the data as integer already..
    I read through some suggestions in the forum, they suggest using 'Fixed range' and set the interval size, but need to include min & max value. But, inside my program, min value & max value has to be automatically adjusted, ie i can not set the values for those.
    Please suggest solution for me, need it urgently..

    I'm sorry but this seems to me impossible to do.
    In general - not necessarily for this case - there is the option to create your own Flash Components and integrate them into VC, so you could overcome such limitations.
