PRESARIO SR1010V - No audio

I just installed Windows XP Professional SP3 and I can not get the audio drivers to work. Multi-Media Audio Controller is specified in the Device Manager. I have tried to do the update and have looked on the Internet and Compaq home page, but so far no luck. Would anyone happen to know the driver that I need to install to get this to work correcly? Thanks for any help that you can give.

If the factory install wont work, strong possibility its a hardware problem.

Presario R4000 Laptop Audio Drivers not working

So, I've got this older Laptop, the Compaq Presario R4000.
It was giving me a really hard time with software with the original OS and stuff, so I decided to format it and install my own Windows XP Professional on it, as opposed to the Compaq-ware filled XP Home that was already on it.
So I formatted, installed Windows, and found the driver page for it.
I Flashed the BIOS despite the fact that I don't think it was necessary, but I wasn't sure.
I installed the graphics drivers no problem.
Installed the wireless device drivers, though not sure if these are working, but it's not significant.
What is significant however, is that the Audio Drivers provided on the site do not work at all. I looked for other drivers, looked for other driver versions for the OSs and various other Presario models, but nothing has worked.
I don't know what the problem is. I'm really hoping someone is able to help!

BTW, I should mention what the error message I'm getting is.
A command window pops up running the following command:
c:\swsetup\SP29873>start /min \swsetup\audio\setup.exe /s
I tried fiddling with the batch file that was running these commands to see if that would help, but it doesn't.
Still always get the same error message:
"Windows cannot find '\swsetup\audio\setup.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search."

Does your notebook have an Intel or AMD processor?
If it has an AMD processor, follow the instructions I posted at the link below for how to get the XP audio driver to work.

You would browse to: C:\SWSetup\sp28552\SMAXWDM\W2K_XP\smwdmATI, and select the SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio device from the list.
There are no Vista or W7 drivers for the card reader (Base System Device), so try the XP driver. I think it will work.

Unzip to a folder...use Device Manager.
From Device Manager,right click "Audio Device on High Def Bus",choose Update driver,
No to connect,
Install from a list or specific location,
Select Don't Search, I will choose the driver to install,
For the Hardware Type select 'Show All Devices'
Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk".
Next...browse to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".
Ignore XP when it complains.
Reboot.

Presario C700 no audio or mic why?

so i have a compaq c700 and one day the sound stop working and i tried to fix it but every time i tried to open the audio thing it keep telling this:
SmAudio could not find Conexant audio divace, application cannot run properly
i tried to download and reinstall smartaudio and it keep telling the same thing!
can someone help me?

Hello JDWright85. I understand that you're having some problems with your microphone and audio.
I do not want to come right out and say it is a hardware issue but that is what it sounds like. I do have a few ideas before looking into a repair. First, try a hard reset. This forces the hardware to be reinitialized and can solve a wide variety of issues.
Shut down the notebook.
Remove battery and AC power.
Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds three times.
Replace battery and AC power.
Boot notebook and verify whether the issue was resolved.

No audio in Windows Vista Home Basic - Compaq Presario c765TU

Hi all,
A couple of days ago, my Compaq Presario c765TU lost audio while fastforwarding through a movie I was playing on VLC. The video was stored on an external hard drive. Tried playing music and video files stored on the laptop's local drive, still no sound.
Audio drivers and BIOS have been updated. Audio devices are listed as installed and working properly in the Device Manager.
Contemplating on doing a clean re-install of Windows Vista to see if that will work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's hard to know exactly which it is at this point. It could be one of two things. The speakers have failed or the jack detect pin located inside the headphone jack has failed. A non-functional jack detection pin would cause the system to route audio to the headphone jack constantly instead of the internal speakers.
If you want to be absolutely certain it is not a software issue (corrupted registry possibly), you can try the system recovery making sure to backup your files. I suspect this is a hardware issue, but it could very well be a corrupted registry causing the jack detection pin not to be read properly.

Can't install audio on Presario C300

I have a Presario C304NR that came with XP Home. I just installed XP Pro and now there is no audio device. I installed Microsofts UAA audio driver and then when I install the audio driver from HP it get the error- driver installation failed no audio device present.

No audio output device is installed(code 10 error), in compaq presario v6000

I have compaq presario v6608AU laptop with vista OS installed
I got a small red cross mark near the sound icon in the taskbar.
I read the forum and tried all possible ways to get back the sound but nothing worked.
when i switched on the bluetooth, it shows audio connected to bluetooth but no audio in laptop
In device manager i was not able to find any drivers for laptop audio but wireless audio is installed.
I tried downloading audio driver for my notebook but it doesnt get installed, saying no audio device found code 10 error

No Audio in Compaq Presario CQ-40 421 in XP professional

There is no Audio, i cant play any song or in video sound doesnt come. When i play mp3 in windows media player , it shows no audio device installed
When i start iTune, a message display - no audio can be played. I dont get volume controls, mixtures. volume controls are disabled.
and when i go to control panel > sound settings > audio codec > properties everything shows enabled.

I am having presario C7712TU model laptop, recently i reinstalled my Xp OS service pack 2.
after that i reinstalled all drivers, but it showing some error in audio device driver.
the error code is 10 and it is telling "media device missing"

Moreover i couldnt find any wireless LAN icon in network connection tab.

all the drivers from HpCompaq offical website. But the audio driver
does't work for my "Conexant AC-Link Audio

Select install from a list or specific location Do not search. I will choose the driver to install.
Click on next, Have Disk, and browse.
Select the cpl3085a.inf file in the uncompressed folder sp30578, and then click Open.
Click on OK, next and finish.
Restart the computer.
