Presentaion service frequently going down

Hello,
I am trying to genrate a report in a pivot table format which contains 15 rows.When i am trying to generate this report ,all of a sudden the presentation service is going down.Its not showing any errors.
What might be the cause.
Thanks in advance.

Which log files did you check?
Try increasing the logging levels for sawserver in logconfig.xml until you do see an error.
Once you've got an error then the obvious place to check is Metalink, there are known bugs around pivot tables in OBIEE.

  • SMTP service goes down

    Hi,
    I am having some problems with my iMS 5.0 patch 3 (yes, i know, i am planning a migration to 5.2) SMTP service.... the SMTP service is going down frecuently (3-4 times per day), althought it was running ok last week (and and the last month too). I have encounter the next message in log/imta/dispatcher.log-XX all the times the service goes down:
    app_create_proc(SMTP): too many processes for this service
    I have change the MAX_PROCS and MAX_CONNS variables in imta/config/dispatcher.cnf file to 10 and 50 respectly, but the problem have not dissapear....
    Any idea?
    Thanks.

    "too many processes" usually means that you've run out of jobs, not processes.
    Check the maxjobs in imta.cnf, check what other channels are allowed to use the same pool, and then check the job_controller for the number of jobs in that pool.
    The default installation allows 21 jobs that are pulled from a pool of 10 jobs. Not my idea of a good idea.

  • My Website keeps going down everyweek

    Hi,
    I have a website hosted on Azure (with the Standard pricing tier) and for the past months I am experiencing with outages of about 15-30mins on a weekly basis.
    When I first noticed this problem I went ahead and created an alert rule to notify me when the website is not responding. Since then, I have received over 30 emails on different days about the problem.
    The issues happen even if my website is not under user traffic at all (2am for instance).
    When I am experiencing these problems, I checked the Azure Dashboard and it lists as being ok, with no problems on the service quality. I can access my dashboard but can't navigate to my website.
    It is very complicated for me to pay for a cloud service that goes down for 15min each week!
    I would like your assistance on identifying the problem.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I would request you to raise support ticket with your incident details; you can also set severity of the ticket to get the response
    Please refer following steps to raise support ticket
    How do I submit an incident?
    Go to the Azure Support site and click on Get Support. Alternatively, you can submit an incident
    from the Azure Portal or the Azure Accounts Center. To submit from the Azure Portal,
    click on the icon on the top right corner, and then select Contact Microsoft Support.

  • Wifi keeps going down

    I have an Airport Extreme for wireless but the connection has been frequently going down on my G5. When I try to rejoin I get a connection timeout message. The only way to reconnect is to restart the G5. Any thoughts?

    2 Mbps is fine.
    Do an option click on the Airport Icon. Try this a number of times to get a decent sample. What Transmit Rates/RSSI are you getting?
    Somebody nearby might have started blasting you out with a microwave oven or cell phone. And download AirRadar demo which will show you which channels are occupied and the strength of those networks, including your own.
    http://www.koingosw.com/products/airradar.php
    Or iStumbler, completely free. (But which appears to be slower to scan all networks.)
    http://www.istumbler.net/
    Another possibility is to reboot the router, which might be ready to fall over.

  • SSRS Reporting manages goes down frequently. ERROR: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.

    We have been experiencing issues with SSRS over the past 5 weeks, the service goes down frequently. And it comes up only on reboot of the server.
    We had also disabled the On Access scan in Mcafee.
    The service is in use for about two years, and the below error started occuring over the last few days. Please advise on this.

    Hi SThiyag,
    Based on your error message, it may be related to the “SecureConnectionLevel” in the RSReportServer.config file. Please go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer, use Notepad to open the RSReportServer.config,
    modify <Add Key="SecureConnectionLevel" Value="0"/>, change the value into "1" or "2".
    (Note: Please backup the file before modify it.)
    Acceptable values are:
    3 Most secure—Use SSL for absolutely everything.
    2 Secure—Use SSL for rendering and methods that pass credentials but don't insist on it for all SOAP calls.
    1 Basic Security—Accepts http but rejects any calls that might be involved in the passing of credentials.
    0 Least Secure—Don't use SSL at all
    Here is a blog for error message "The underlying connection was closed...", please refer to the link below:

  • MS SQL server is going down frequently(10 days of gap) with exception message: "A severe error occurred on the current command. The results, if any, should be discarded".

    MS SQL server is going down frequently(10 days of gap) with exception message: "A severe error occurred
    on the current command. The results, if any, should be discarded". We are facing this issue for past two month.But funny thing is server will be up automatically with out any service restart manually.  Also if we try to restart the SQL
    server service manually then SQL server will be in a dead lock situation and it will not come up even if we wait for long time. Then we should do a windows server machine restart to
    make the SQL sever up. As a suggestion from Microsoft to fix this kind of similar issue,
    we have installed service pack 3 for SQL Server. But even after we are facing same issue.
    Server Details:
    Server OS: Windows Server 2008 R2
    Two type of database servers are installed on server:
    1. MS SQL Server 2008 R2
    2. My SQL
    Also Reporting server is configured for the purpose of generating SSRS report from a dot net website.
     NOTE:Immediately after the data retrieval/save, we are closing the connection explicitly by the
    application.
    we have checked the windows event log and below are the details:

    Hi YesYemPee,
    I have tried but still not clear about your issue, I would like you provide more details information about your issue based on below points to better analysis about the issue:
    What action did you do and caused the error "A severe error occurred on the current command. The results, if any, should be discarded", did you run report on the web application or something else then the error happen?
    If you rendering the report and got the error, please try to provide us more error information in the log files which path like:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles
    If it is not the case in step1, Please try to provide SQL Server Error log(SQL Server Logs) and more details information.
    If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • How to schedule a service to run before network goes down

    Hi
    I wrote a new smf service and added it to the repository.
    When running with "stop" (when the system goes down) it sends an alert to another machine.
    My question is :
    How can I schedule that service to run just before network services go down?
    another question, how can I schedule another service to run just BEFORE system is getting down?
    Many Thanks
    --me2unix

    Dependencies appear to be really written and tested on the boot side, but they should work properly going down as well.
    My first assumption is that you'd make a dependency on the network for your service. So it should be started after the network starts, and will wait for your service to quit before trying to shut down the network.
    Now this would only apply to normal shutdowns. Also, there are mulitple services on the box that have network affects. You may need to read through several to understand their purpose and interaction to pick the correct one for your use. Probably the milestone/network will be the best choice.

  • Interconnect Repository and Adapters going down frequently

    Hi,
    We are using 9iAs interconnect as messaging middleware between Oracle applications CRM and Main frames systems.
    The 9iAs repository and adapters (DB and http) are going down frequently in Production environment.
    Every time we had an issue of servers going down, we used to restart them.
    Sometimes they are working fine after the first bounce; otherwise we are bouncing them again.
    The behavior is very intermittent.
    We need some suggestions on the following:
    Is there any potential risk involved if we bounce the 9iAs interconnect repository and adapters daily?
    Will there be any impact in the performance if we enable the log level to verbose for all the adapters? (As of now, the log level is set to log only errors)
    Any help in this regard is much appreciated
    Thanks,
    Lahari

    hi,

    What on earth for? Why? What problem/issue are you trying to address that way?
    But frequently some listeners are going down or UNKNOWN state from first node only. everything is running fine from second node. How to troubleshoot this? RAC is only as robust as
    a) the architecture it is implemented on (server h/w, Interconnect, etc)
    b) how well it adheres to Oracle concepts and fundamentals
    5 RAC instances on the same 2 nodes, using 10 listeners per node? That is anything but adhering to Oracle fundamentals. More like total madness IMO.
    Cannot recall ever having a listener (stand-alone or on any of our RACs) simply going down and not working as designed. So I doubt strongly that your are dealing with an Oracle issue here. Seems to be a case of an unnecessary self inflicted wound.

  • OBIEE - Oracle BI Server service (NQSServer.exe) goes down

    Hello,
    I'm experiencing a issue with the Oracle BI Server service (NQSServer.exe), it goes down when the CPU reaches to the 100% with this service.
    This happens when the Job Manager tries to send 20mails (ibots) at the same time.
    This never happen before.
    Here you can see the error, when the CPU reaches to 100%, and the NQSServer.exe goes down.

    Is this normal?
    Can I try to manage the settings for this service (NQSServer.exe)?
    Thank you in advance.

  • RMI Service going down

    Hi All,
    I have few RMI methods that is working perfectly. I start it using following command:
    java -classpath .;classes12.jar -Djava.rmi.server.codebase=file:///java/ -Djava.rmi.server.hostname=<MyIP> MyServiceI have noticed that if there is no client call for 10 minutes the RMI service goes down. If I call atleast one service within 10 minutes then the server code is there to service forever. For this issue I have included a ping kind of service on my client to keep server alive.
    The point is why does the service die if no calls are there for first 10 minutes or so. Is it garbage collected or I am missing something.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vikash Anand.

    Hi All,
    My main method looks like this:
    System.out.println("Starting service deployment..");
            // Assign a security manager, in the event that dynamic
              // classes are loaded
              System.setProperty("java.security.policy", "c:/policy.all");
            if (System.getSecurityManager()==null){
              System.setSecurityManager(new RMISecurityManager());
            System.out.println("Loaded Security policies.....");
            // Create an instance of our service server ...
              Service service = new Service();
            // ... and bind it with the RMI Registry
            Naming.rebind ("MyService", service);
            System.out.println ("Service bound....Awaiting requests.........");Please suggest
