Presentation cables

What is the difference between part numbers CAB-VGA-DVI-AUD25=, and CAB-VGA-DVI-AUD=?
To me it looks like they are both VGA-M w/3.5mm stereo male to DVI-M w/RCAx2 male cables.  The "-25=" version is 25 feet long, the other is 6m (a bit under 20 feet).  that extra 5 feet seems to cost $200 for some reason I cannot fathom.
And while I'm asking, CAB-VGA-DVI-AUDM= seems to be the same cable again, but this time only 2.5m in length, is that correct?
Thanks.

If you don't specifically need it all in one bonded cable, just use a DVI->VGA cable for the video and a seperate RCA->3.5mm jack audio cable.  Then, if you need to, you can put them in some snakeskin cable wrap or just cable tie them together to give you a "single" cable.  That's the way we do it - it's much easier to source those cables and ends up significantly cheaper.  The added benefit is that you can usually get them in a range of lengths, so if you need shorter or longer than the Cisco ones, you can usually find something closer to what you need.

  • Spare DVI to VGA presentation cables for SX20

    hi All,
I would like to have a spare DVI to VGA presentation cables for SX20, I managed to searched the Part number is "CAB-DVI-VGA-3.5MM - SX20 3.5mm", but I cannot confirm, because I suppose the cable should be shipped with SX20, when I created a BOM for "CTS-SX20-PHD12X-K9", I thought I was able to find it in the option list, but I am not. So I was wondering that  the part number is right for SX20 or not...

As discussed previously in these forums (see this thread) - you'll find it much simpler and cheaper to buy a DVI-VGA cable and a seperate 3.5mm audio cable from your local electronics supplier.  These can then be purchased in lengths that are more suitable for your purpose as well (so you don't have to worry about 6m of cable if you don't need that much, or can get longer if you need that too).  YOu can then make these two cables a "single cable" using cable ties, or snakeskin wrapping them together (or any other way you deem appropriate).

  • Default cables and accessories delivered with SX series

    Hi
Do we have any document which have the details about the different accessories like cables used to connect camera and codec with the default length and presentation cable connect from Codec to the PC and the default length etc.

  • TelePresence VGA to DVI cable and conduit

We have a new CTS-1300 system with a presentation cable which has a VGA connector on the user side and a DVI connector on the codec side.  Currently the room has a 1 1/2 inch conduit installed under the floor between the conference table and codec.  The VGA to DVI cable that comes with the TelePresence system will not fit through the conduit so I would like to purchase a cable that has no end on it and pull it through the conduit then install the VGA connector.  Tripp Lite makes a cable similar to what we need called the Easy Pull but the cable ends are either both VGA or both DVI.  We might be able to find an adapter for one of the ends but that just adds another point of possible failure.  Has anyone found a company where they sell a cable similar to the Tripp Lite Easy Pull that is factory made with a VGA on one side and DVI on the other? One other thing to consider is the Cisco cable contains "mini" style audio connectors attached to it as well where the audio appears to be directly connected to the DVI connector whereas the VGA audio looks like it is coming out of the cable bundle.
    http://www.tripplite.com/en/products/product-series.cfm?txtSeriesID=126&EID=32

Thank you for the information.  I no longer work at that company where the installation occurred so I can't test it.  But this information will be useful for future installations if I run into the issue again.

  • CAB-VGA-DVI-AUD25=

    Hi,
I have a problem regarding the presentation cable Part ID: CAB-VGA-DVI-AUD25 This cable used to be this config
    DVI           ->       VGA
    RCA         ->       3.5 mm stereo
But now (since this summer 2014) its seams to be this config on the cable:
    DVI            ->      VGA
    3.5 mm     ->      3.5 mm
Has anyone had this issue when doing an RMA?
I just want to know witch presentation cable is for C-codecs now?
    /Jonas

There's a description of the cables in this thread and some options for sourcing cheaper ones.
But, to quickly answer your question
CAB-VGA-DVI-AUD25= should have one end RCA and the other the 3.5mm.
CAB-VGA-DVI-AUD= would be the one with 3.5mm jack at both ends.
So, if you're doing an RMA, it's possble you're requesting, or being sent, the wrong cable as a replacement.

  • Info please...control surface and mixer for fcp and audio recording

i'm looking for a control surface for final cut pro and also xlr/line inputs for recording guitar and vocals in cubase or audacity.
read all the info here after numerous searches. still some questions.
was looking at the tascam 1082 but not sure of the build quality...i saw one and it looked a bit cheaply built. the two demos at guitar center were falling apart. didn't look nearly as well built as the mackie. also i have been reading here and elsewhere about bugs/problems etc.
was looking at the m-audio...not sure about that one...$1250...
was also looking at mackie control surface...but no firewire...how do you hook it up to a mac? also no audio inputs. what would i need to buy to work in conjunction with that for recording audio? if i bought the mackie, i'd still have to buy an audio inpur device and that would end up costing as much as the m audio.
i know i could just buy a mixer for recording and forget the control surface...i already have a shuttle pro which works fine and i have gotten used to using the mixer in fcp...no problems. but the motorized faders on a control surface sure would be nice
    so questions:
how does the mackie connect to a mac and what other device(s) would i need to record audio and how would they hook up...would they play nice together?
ppl who own the tascam...happy with it? used the mic and line preamps? are they noisy?
do i need an additional firewire bus reguardless of which control surface i get?
how does one route the audio for these when in fcp? i currently route my audio through my dsr 11 deck. will the control surface just go through firewire or would i have to actually jack into the control surface with additional cables and have to remove my present cables from my speakers everytime i want to use the control surface?
sorry so many questions. it's really tough to make an informed decision in buying something if you don't understand the mechanics of it.
btw, appreciate the info so far that i found doing my searches.
    thanks
    carl

I've got the Tascam FW1082 and I absolutely love it. I can't believe I ever edited without it. I'm considering upgrading to the 1884 in the future.
As for the mic preamps, they sound great. Nice and clean. There's no such thing as a line preamp, but the line inputs are clean as well.
For routing, I go to the 1082 via firewire until I turn on my external video monitor, at which point I send both video & audio to the deck and route the audio from the deck into a pair of the mixer's analog inputs. That way you avoid the delay of external monitoring. The 1082 allows you to listen to both the computer & the inputs at the same time, so switching back and forth is seamless.
As for durability, I've had it out on a few location recordings, but most of the time it's on my desk. It's still in mint condition. I'm sure if it was on a display where any 10 year old could come mess with it, it wouldn't be in as great of shape, but then again, a Neve console wouldn't look that great if every little brat that walked in the door could play with it. If you take care of your stuff, you'll have no issues with this mixer.

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
and select the Library that you moved.  That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
Your first option didn't work because you imported one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
Your second option didn't work because you simply referenced her library on the old machine.

  • Cable needed to present Keynote from Macbook? In College.

I have a new Macbook and want to take my macbook so i can present a keynote presentation i created. this will take place at my college, which all classes has a projector (but its mounted on the ceiling) and the projector is connected to a computer, with Windows.
What cable do I need to connect my macbook to a computer with windows and display it on the projector?
im not sure if there is a projection connection near the front of the class but if there is, is there a simpler cable to use?
    How much do these cost?

The above post is correct, but a little more specific to your question - I don't believe you can connect from your mac to a windows machine to display.
The connections mentioned are what you need. You just have to disconnect from the windows machine and use the adapter to connect to your laptop. I have to do this alot. It's a little pain in the rear but is what you have to do.

  • With which iPad cables can a keynote presentation be played on a projector with?

I need to know which apple cable to buy so that I can present a keynote presentation from the iPad onto a projector. Does it work with VGA, composite, or component. I have the iPad 1.

I have tried the composite and works fine. The iPad will show a secondary screen during the slide show when the cable is conected, you will notice the play icon will change. I have tried it with two different projectors and one TV.

  • Serial cable present?

    Hi all
Is there a VI I can use in Labview (5) to interrogate the serial port and
determine if a CTS present. I need to do this to determine whether or not
there is a serial cable connecting the PC to an instrument (which
    generates the CTS).
I've tried a serial write but if there is no cable the VI either stalls
(if hardware handshaking is enabled since there is no CTS) or just runs
without generating an error if there is no handshaking.
The other approach would be to stop the VI from running if the write VI
stalls but I haven't figured out how to do that either.
Reading the NI knowledge base I think I need to access my serial port
register using the inport/outport functions, but I've not tried this
    before so any advice
    would be gratefully received!
    Many thanks in advance.

Try looking at the VISA drivers, I believe you can
check the state of some of the control lines
I believe that CTS is one of them.

If you are using Keynote, then no, you would be fine with just the adapter and a cable hooked up to the projector.

  • Telepresence CTS-1000 optional presentation display cable type

I am installing the CTS-1000 with the optional 22'' external LCD display. The cabling guides have the picture showing that the there is an HDMI connection on the codec showing the Auxiliary Video Out, but with the NEC Display there is not a HDMI connection just a DVI.
My question is, that I am thinking that I need to purchase a DVI-Male to a HDMI-Male, is this accurate thinking? I just want to make sure I make the correct purchase.

    Hi,
You should be able to get things to work with the HDMI to DVI cable. Both the formats are very similar with one small difference. i.e. HDMI can carry audio as well as video, DVI doesn't.
So you should be able to hook your projector with the CTS using the HDMI to DVI cable. As for the male/female, it depends on what connects you have on the projector. Most likely the projector has a DVI female so the cable you will need is HDMI to DVI male.
    Thanks,
