Presentation Services Keep Crashing
Hi,
We have the following setup:
1) Oracle BI Server, DAC installed on Server A
2) Oracle BI Presentation Server installed on Server B.
This Server B also serves as a web server for the siebel application.
We are facing severe crashes on the Presentation services and the application keeps going down. We have checked the option of network issues also and have rules out the same as we do not face any network issues.
Both the server are on the same data center.
Any inputs or suggestions to re-solve this issue as the UAT is in progress and these crashes are very frequent.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Anita
Hi,
This issue is now resolved. We had to apply a patch given.
There is a bug with the marketing application and this was causing the crashes.
After we submitted the dmp files captured when ever there was a crash, we got a fix from Oracle. We upgraded to 10.1.3.2.1 version and now the application is fine.
Regards,
Anita

File sharing service keeps popping up with the error message An error occurred on the server while processing a command. This error occurred while processing a command of type 'getConnectedUsers' in plug-in 'servermgr_afp'.
I have tried multiple solutions on this site, unloading afp and restarting it, restarting postgres. The file sharing tab will show up for a few seconds on the server.app config page then once someone tries to access any of the shared volumes on there, the event log shows it crashing instantly. Error in console:
The server '127.0.0.1' reported an error while processing a command of type 'getConnectedUsers' in plug-in: 'servermgr_afp'. Error: Error Domain=XSActionErrorDomain Code=0 "SETTING_NOT_FOUND_ERR" UserInfo=0x7ffe6a835060 {NSLocalizedDescription=SETTING_NOT_FOUND_ERR}
Also I get the error com.apple.launchd: (com.apple.collabd.notifications[7520]) Exited with code 1 then always followed by Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds and this happens every 10 seconds without fail.I have started getting this error this morning:
This error occurred while processing a command of type 'getConnectedUsers' in plug-in 'servermgr_afp'.
Using Server 2.2.2; MacMini running OS X 10.8.5, 2 GHz Core i7 with 8 GB RAM attached to a 12TB Pegasus RAID.
When the error appears, my users cease to be able to access file shares.
Often, just before the error occurs, my users experience substantial slow down in the Finder's responsiveness when manipulating files on those shares.
Restarting the Server App will produce one of several results
1. fix the problem (rarely)
2. fail to connect to server
3. connect to server but not get all services running.
The system itself resists a full shutdown, hanging at the grayish-white screen (not spinning wheel or cog or apple logo).
I wish there was some known fix for this. -
Transport Service keeps crashing
Hi All
I have been battling this now since Wednesday and cannot seem to get it resolved.
Active Directory 2008 R2
Single Exchange 2007 R2 server running Win 2003 R2 (all updates on server as of Wednesday)
My Transport rule keeps crashing about every 50 minutes.
I get Event ID 1022 (Worker process with <pid> requested service to be stopped (where the pid points to EdgeTranport.exe)
I also seem to see Event ID 7001 (Service will be stopped. Reason: A failure occurred in a transport database operation)
I can get the service to start running again by renaming Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\TransportRoles\Data\Queue to ...\Queue.old; however, after about 50 minutes it happens again.
I have created a scheduled PowerShell task that will check the service, rename the queue folder, and restart the service; however, I would like to get the server working properly so I can start an Exch2007 to Exch2013 migration (have new server built (OS
Only)).
I have quite a bit of space left on the server. Checked permissions to the ...\TransportRoles\Data folder - Network Service does have full rights (had to change it though to full). Checked the Transport Agents and all that is running on the server 'Transport
Rule Agent - True', 'Journaling Agent - True', and 'AD RMS Prelicensing Agent - False'
What else can I check or do?Do you have an file-level anti-virus software running on the machine? If you uninstall it (not just disable it) does the problem stop?
If there's no A/V software installed, you should try moving the file (or files) to another disk. Use the Move-TransportDatabase.ps1 in the $exscripts directory.
Are there any events logged in the applications event log around the same time as the events in the system event log?

Hi. Our internet service keeps going offline. I had to reset the router 4 times yesterday. It comes back up after resetting, but then it only stays up for a few hours. The Internet light on the router is either off or amber...
Anybody else experienced anything like this?I'm assuming your router is connect to the ONT via coax?
If so, the orange LED indicates you have a marginal connection to the ONT.
You can verify that by checking the MOCA WAN stats on your router.
How do I check the MOCA stats on my router
This is usually a coax or splitter issue, but can also be a bad ONT or router. -
Adobe Presenter 8 keeps crashing Powerpoint
Hello,
I've been using Adobe presenter 8 for over a year on my computer with Windows 7 and Office 2010. My powerpoint instantly crashes any time i click on any of the buttons on adobe presenter (audio edit, manage quiz, publish, slide manager, etc...). I've tried several fixes mentioned earlier (removing temporary files). Also, when I start a new powerpoint it keeps asking me to disable adobe presenter add-in.
Any solutions besides re-installing adobe presenter 8?
Thanks,I experienced the same problem starting on May 12, 2014 just like you. I spent the day uninstalling and reinstalling but the problem never went away, anytime I try any of the Presenter add-in features it would crash. At he end of the day, I tried it on another computer that has the add-in and the same thing happened. So I do not think it is just my computer. I wonder if there was a windows update that is causing the conflict. I am unable to restore my computer to a previous date to see if that helps or not, but if it is a Window issue, we surely are not the only ones having this problem.
I am running Office 2007 on Windows 2007 Professional and have Presenter 8.1 installed.

Messages service keeps crashing after 2.2.2 update
Ever since updating my Server.app to version 2.2.2, I have been unable to get my Messages service running again. The log files suggest that the jabber service is rebooting every few minutes, and I am unable to authenticate when I try signing in from iChat/Messages. I'm hoping someone here has seen this and may have a solution for this issue.
Note that I host four domains (the fifth is the server's FQDN), and all are set in the serveradmin tool using:
sudo serveradmin settings jabber:hostsCommaDelimitedString = "FQDN,domain1,domain2,domain3,domain4"
This setup was working earlier today and broke immediately following the 2.2.2 update.
Here's what the Messages Service log files look like for the first 30 seconds when I start the service (and then shut it down):

TOTAL 251.4MI believe that I'm having similar issues -- I can't even get jabber to start after the v2.2.2 upgrade. Would you please post what your jabberd condifuration directory looks like? Here's what I see:
cd /Library/Server/Messages/Config/jabberd ; ls -l *.xml
-rw------- 1 _jabber wheel 25293 Sep 19 22:10 c2s.xml
-rw------- 1 _jabber wheel 1683 Sep 22 2012 router-filter.xml

Any ideas how to clear out the jabberd plist/database configuration to start from scratch and get jabberd working again? I've tried
sudo rm /private/var/run/jabberd/*.pid /Library/Server/Messages/Data/sqlite/jabberd2.db /Library/Preferences/com.apple.messageserver.plist
But this doesn't help. -
Apple Mobile Device Service keeps crashing on Mac OS X
When I connect my iPhone and start syncing it gets so far then, then the spinning beachball appears. This always happens when I am trying to sync music, and happens everytime I sync the phone.
When I disconnect the phone and try again itunes doesn't recognise it.
I have found by following these instructions:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306637
I can get itunes to recognise the phone again and start syncing. However itunes crashes everytime I sync.
If I force quit itunes I have to reinstall apple mobile device service, If I disconnect the iPhone then reconnect I get the error message 0xE8000001.
I thought it might be because of the amount of music I was wanting to put on there, put doing it bit by bit seems to end up the same way. I also thought it might be because I only have USB 1.1, but if that was the case nothing would sync...surely????
Has anyone else had this problem?
Can anyone help....having to re-install the mobile device package all the time is a real pain!!!!
Help! Are you connecting the iPhone to a USB 2.0 port? (Some of the G4 computers have USB 1.1 port and those will create sync problems.)
Are you using the cable that was supplied with the iPhone. (Some of the older iPod cables will connect but will not transfer data at USB 2.0 speeds). -
Photoshop CS6 keeps crashing. I am using a brand new IMAC, I have 16GB RAM recently updated as it was running slow with 8GB and lots of hardrive space. When it crashes, i lose all my presents and it changes my preferences, it also fails to save or produce a recovered file despite settings asking it to do so every 5 mins now. When i try to report the problem, it says it has found an issue and gives me a link to a solution....but wont let me click on the link.... PLEASE HELP! It's killing my productivity.
If the crash started right after you added RAM, it could be a bad Ram dimm. You can try this - change the amount of RAM in Photoshop to 4G, this should stop Photoshop from using the higher ram. If it doesn't crash, it's probably the ram. Or run a diagnostic app. You don't say when it crashes, what you're doing when it crashes - it there a pattern? Did it ever work on this computer? Did it work on your previous computer? Without a lot of data, it could be related to the new computer... What OS version? Did you recently update it? Have you updated Photoshop to the most recent update?
Do you have any plug-ins loaded? Try restarting Photoshop, and immediately press & hold the shfit key to turn off plug-ins. -
Hello to everyone out there: o)
I have itunes 11 .. installed 1 day before, now my playlists do not agree in the presentation!
itues keeps crashing! "Solution is sought.
Receive message when you found solution. Itunes connect"??
There do not appear in itunes all devices
Windows 7
sorry for my english!Hey, I have had my intunes soley shut down my computer numerous times, for the past month or so. I realize now it is only within my itunes, but it may not only be itunes. My desktop and a lot of cashed info have been cleared now, as a result of a ton of restarts by completely shutting the power most likely.
I have been too lazy to back up my music because it messes stuff up, and goes so slow it crashes. it will probably work better if I dont even touch itunes and just transfer small parts of my library at a time, not all 120+ gb!
I think a my computer is
a fried
b my files are terribly corrupted
c or my itunes is compromised
either way, i will back up my music, but what do you think the chances are my music is the culprate, and by backing it up I will have the same problem in the future?
i've been thinking re-installing itunes would be best
let me know....thanks -

We are using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition v10.1.3.4 running on a Windows 2003 server. The underlying database is an instance of Oracle OLAP 11g v11.1.0.6.0.
It has been noticed that for some of our reports, when we click on a data item which is a hyperlink (member of a hierarchy in the underlying OLAP cube), then it is expected that the report should drill down to show the children of the element being clicked on. For some of these elements, the number of children in the drill down is potentially larger than any 'normal' element. A click (drill down) on such an element results in the following error message being recorded in the NQServer.log and the Presentation Services crash at the same time.
*[nQSError: 12002] Socket communication error at call=recv: (Number=10054) An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.*
It seems that at this point in time the report is hitting some threshold of the application (like CubeMaxRecords or CubeMaxPopulatedCells). We have not yet changed the defaults for any of the parameters in the instanceconfig.xml file since some users claim that increasing the limits for the default parameters result in a performance hit.
Any thoughts on overcoming this problem scenario are highly appreciated.
Thanks and Regards,

InDesign CS4 keeps crashing at startup "Starting up Service Registry"
I just downloaded and istalled InDesign CS4 trial and it keeps crashing when ever I try to launch the program. I also installed the update. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate. Any ideas of how to fix the problem? Thanks a lot.
Ok, so after reading some posts, I found a simple solution: I just changed my default pinter. Now, it runs fine. Thanks.

My 2010 Macbook Pro keeps crashing- Cant diagnose if its Hardware or software
Hello,
This is my first post in the community. I apologize if this is a repeat question but I have looked through other threads and could not find a solution.
My mid 2010 Macbook Pro 4GB Ram 120 GB SSD i5 keeps crashing for no reason. It crashes at completely different times and is not consistent. Sometimes if i am opening a new tab or multitasking, even if i am typing a document or copying and pasting text the mac would just randomly crash.
At first I assumed it was a software problem so I deleted all files on the mac and installed the new OS yet the problem still continued. I have realized that if I do less tasks at a time it crashed less frequently but this is a mac and Im sure it is not normal if I can't do research and write a paper at the same time.
Below is the report of one of the crashes. It would be great if someone could tell me if this is a software or hardware issue as I don't have warranty anymore and may need to purchase a new computer because I can't count the amount of times it has crashed while I was doing an assignment.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advanceYou have the MacBookPro6,2—the Edsel of Macs. It may have the logic-board defect that was covered by a recall program that has now ended.
Residents of the EU may be entitled to warranty service for up to six years after purchase.
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider, to have the machine tested. The routine hardware diagnostics used by service providers do not detect the fault. There is a specific test for this issue that Apple calls "VST" (for "Video Switching Test.") Ask for it. A "Failed" result means that the fault is present.
You may be quoted a price of about $300 (in the U.S.) for a "depot repair," which involves shipping the unit to a central repair facility and takes about two weeks. For that flat fee, anything found wrong with it should be fixed, not just the logic board.
Sometimes the replacement part is also defective, so be prepared for that possibility. If you decide to pay for a new logic board, test thoroughly during the 90-day warranty period on the repair. Some owners have reported that they went through as many as three replacement boards before getting one that worked.
If you don't want to pay for the repair, you may (or may not) be able to work around the problem by disabling automatic graphics switching. To use the discrete graphics processor, you'll need a third-party utility to switch to it manually.
Often the problems start after an OS upgrade. If the upgrade was recent, and you have backups, then you can revert to a previous OS X version. -

All updates are installed and I would appreciate some help please. That panic was not caused by third-party software. If the problem is recurrent, the possibilities are:
A stale or corrupt kernel cache
A damaged OS X installation
A fault in a peripheral device, if any
Corrupt non-volatile memory (NVRAM)
An internal hardware fault (including incompatible memory)
An obscure bug in OS X
You may already have ruled out some of these.
Rule out #1 by booting in safe mode and then rebooting as usual. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
You can rule out #2 and #3 by reinstalling the OS and testing with non-essential peripherals disconnected and aftermarket expansion cards removed, if applicable. Sometimes a clean reinstallation (after erasing the startup volume) may solve a problem that isn't solved by reinstalling in place, without erasing.
Corrupt NVRAM, which rarely causes panics, can be ruled out by resetting it.
If your model has user-replaceable memory, and you've upgraded the memory modules, reinstall the original memory and see whether there's any improvement. Be careful not to touch the gold contacts. Clean them with a mild solvent such as rubbing alcohol. Aftermarket memory must exactly match the technical specifications for your model. Memory that is either slower or faster than specified may be incompatible.
The Apple Hardware Test or Apple Diagnostics, though generally unreliable, will sometimes detect a fault. A negative test can't be depended on. Run the extended version of the test.
In the category of obscure bugs, reports suggest that FileVault may trigger kernel traps under some unknown conditions. Most, though not all, of these reports seem to involve booting from an aftermarket SSD. If those conditions apply to you, try deactivating FileVault.
Connecting more than one display is another reported trigger for OS X bugs.
If your system is not fully up to date, running Software Update might get you a bug fix.
In rare cases, a malformed network packet from a defective router or other network device can cause panics. Such packets could also be sent deliberately by a skillful attacker. This possibility is something to consider if you run a public server that might be the target of such an attack.
If none of the above applies, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested. You may have to leave it there for several days. There isn't much point in doing this unless you can reproduce the panic, or if you can't, it happens often enough that it's likely to be repeated at the store. Otherwise you may be told that nothing is wrong.
Print the first page of the panic report and bring it with you.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you know how to restore, and you have at least two independent backups.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

MacBook Pro keeps Crashing/Rebooting when Typing
Ever since I installed Mavericks my MacBook Pro keeps crashing/rebooting. It's an early 2012 model machine, and until now has given me no problems at all (except for some odd SafariDAVClient thing that keeps hogging my memory and I have to force close periodically).
The problem is when I am typing a lot (e-mail, or a document) the computer will suddenly freeze momentarilly, then reboot giving me the grey screen with several different languages indicating there was a crash and I need to press any key to continue. I have tried doing a clean re-install of OSX as one discussion thread here suggested to no avail.
THANK YOU for any help someone might be able to offer!
