Presenter 7 and Streaming FLV?

Is it possible to stream my flv's from my FMS server into
Presenter 7?
The files are large if I have to upload the course with the
videos as the Courses are mostly Video Trainings. Remote users are
struggling to view the slides as the loading is delyed. Streaming
will rectify this.
If not then I will have to ditch Presenter and use clanky
Captivate, as it at least can link via rtmp.

Per original question/answer regarding animation triggers. I was trying to create pop-ups in a PPT file published using Adobe Publisher 7.0.5. No go.
So it was suggested that I try hypertext links. The only way this works for me is to link to a page within the document, even though other "link to" options exist (Existing File or Web Page, Place in this Document, Create New Document and Email Addresses). I have tried to create existing files, web pages, pdfs (both plain old and published) in the same directory, in another directory. Still the only option that works is to a link within the same PPT file. That is fine for a single hyperlink and another link from that page going back to the origination page. But I wanted to create a link to the glossary that returns to WHERE EVER you came from. The "previous page" return link only takes you back to the page before the glossary, not like the "back" button on the web that takes you back to wherever your previous page was. Any suggestions? The only alternative I can think of is individual hard coded hyperlinks back to EACH page in the lesson, this would be pretty ugly visually though.

  • Safari 1.3.2 and Streaming flv media bug

Tested the latest Safari on Tiger and streaming an flv file within a flash website seems ok.
However, on an older machine with Safari 1.3.2 the flash website works ok except the steaming flv media which does not play at all.
Does anyone know of a workaround for this? Or why this is happening?
PS:Mac and IE is fine, as is PC and IE.

Yes. The "Integrate with Internet Browsers" function in the iGetter Tools menu is ON.
Sorry. I'll mark this topic as answered even is NOT true because I make mistake and post it TWICE.

  • Make connect presentation offline and convert flv

    hi there,
I have a problem with converting flv files from connect presentations. 1 of my clients wants to have his adobe connect meeting as a wmv or avi file.
So i saved this presentation from the server to my laptop (make offline, save flv file)
What i noticed is that audio is not separated. When importing this flv file in adobe premiere or soundbooth or the mediaencoder, there is no sound(track) in non of this programs.
The next step i took from what i'v read from a forum is to buy 4Media 'Audio Converter Pro' and convert the audio. So far it works but when importing the audio and video file in adobe premiere i see that my
audio file is about 5minutes shorter 01:05:09 in comparison to my videofile 01:10:49. So i thought: 'this is a frequency issue'. But when i checked the flv file it says that its 44.1 Khz and
the converted file is the same. Can somebody tell me how to solve this problem.
    Thanks in advance
    Frank Schel

    Hi Tulse!
Thanks for your reply! But the problem is that when i convert to wmv i get just a video... Lets say that when i export my keynote to quicktime, i can do it so when i open it on quicktime i can just click and the presentation would pass as if i was on keynote. But when i convert it to windows media and open it, it would just go through as if it was a video...

  • Streaming .flv cue point problem

I’ve been working with Flash video with synced slide
presentations since February, which have been exclusively download
streaming, all based on the presentation available at the adobe web
    site:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/vidtemplate_corppreso.html
My issue has come up when using this template with streaming
flv’s, the buttons that I use to reference the cue points in
    the video and slides on the timeline do not work reliably;
sometimes they will shuttle the video and slides to the correct
point, usually they move the slides on timeline to the appropriate
spot and the video jumps back to the beginning. Besides this
sizable problem, the presentation plays the way it is supposed to.
Is there a setting in the component inspector that I’m
missing? Should I re-encode the video with Navigation cue points?
    Any help would be appreciated.

If you look at the source code for the first link you'll find this at line 71:

Apparently your video has been encapsulated in JWPlayer. You can find out more about JWPlayer here: http://www.longtailvideo.com/players
This seems to be yet another solution to a problem that doesn't exist, and whoever runs that website fell for the sales pitch.

  • Present video and powerpoint side-by-side

I am searching for an easy way to merge a powerpoint presentation and a video clip (of presenter) side-by-side and produce it into one Flash video for streaming on our website. Can it be done in Flash CS4? Or, is there another Adobe program that can do this for me? Or, do I have to look for another vendor to acomplish this, what I thought would be an easy task?

    kglad,
thanks for your reply. Sounds like this may work, but being a Flash novice, would you be able to direct me to some "how to" documents and/or online video of how I can do this, especially the "load it and your flv into a master swf"?

  • Is it possible to sync AND stream from the same iTunes library?

    Hi,
I am having trouble in setting up sync AND stream from the same iTunes library.
    Config :
Mac OS - Latest update 5/6/09
    iTunes - Latest update 5/6/09
Apple TV - Latest update 5/6/09
I am able to either sync OR Stream from my iTunes library but not sync AND stream from the same iTunes library
    Let's say i want to sync :
Go to Apple TV > Settings > computer
Add Library (Not shared for Syncing)
Enter passcode in iTunes and select the items to sync
    After sync is complete
You can see photo, music & video in My Photos, My Music & My Videos.
Let's say now my Apple TV is full
So like to stream some other content
    Now
Go to Apple TV > Settings > computer
    Add SHARED Library
Passcode is shown in apple TV but not able to Enter it in iTunes (click to set link is not there next to Apple TV item under devices)
To get that you have to right click the apple tv from the devices and select don't sync.
You will get a message saying that all content in apple TV will get deleted.
If you say yes then only the passcode screen for streaming is presented.
So i am not able to sync AND stream from the same iTunes library.
    Any idea?

    3. After syncing is complete as per the steps said before, if i have to see a synced content i go to My Movies for streamed content i have to go to Shared Movies?
no... both synced and streamed content show up all together. there is no way to tell what content is synced or streamed when looking at it on the appletv. it is seemless as in there is no difference in how it is presented.
you also need to make sure you are using "custom sync" rather than "automatic sync", as you can't select the "show only synced content" box when using "automatic sync".

  • Streaming flv with interactible objects

    Hi Guys,
I am trying to make a flash based web site. The idea is to
have a flv video streaming which has people moving around and the
people need to be clickable objects.
I tried tracing the video by importing the flv to the flash
time line and creating a button that follows a person in each
frame. I then remove the flv video from the timeline and stream it
using actionscript. This leads to synchronization issues.
Does anyone know if this combination of swf and flv has ever
been implemented? If so could you please refer me to the source or
post a link to an example, it would be much appreciated.

Hi sorry for the delay in responding.
I'm not using any client side code as far as I am aware.
I think I should have said: Flash CS3 video Encoder, as I am
running both Production Premium Creative Suite 3, and also CS3 Web
    Premium.
All I did was convert some AVI files that went through
Premiere Pro CS3 and After Affects etc, in Flash Video Encoder. I'm
    not doing any live streaming.
THe FLVplackcomponent is the one generated in Dreamweaver
CS3, I choose Insert / Flash Video and choose the Streaming
options, I fill out the rtmp details ( I have another thread on an
issue there as a firewall blocks some of the files and I cannot use
    rtmpt) and it works!!
If you have a suggestion for a better workflow or precedure I
    would appreciate it.
It is just this one FLV file that seems to do this. I have
since chnaged this one file to Progressive and it plays fine.
    I hope this helps.
These files are then placed in the applications folder in
    Flash Media Server 2.0 directory.
    This works fine

    Hi,
We're running FMS 3.5.2 r654 on RHEL 5.2 and we're getting tons of errors like this:

Can we safely ignore this error? What does it mean?
We're only getting this since 3.5.2. We were running FMS 3.5.1 before, and weren't getting this error, but upgraded to get rid of the occasional "core experienced [x] failures"-crashes.

  • How do I protect my FLV files? or How to encrypt and decrypt FLV files using AIR?

    Hi,
I am working on an AIR application, which is developed on eLearning concept. The application mainly deals with flv files. The application contains a video player component, which will stream flv files from an Apache Server and played in my application. Here my concern is I would like to protect my flv files some how against users who may stream them from Apache Server and use them without my application.
I thought of with an idea to do it. But I don't know whether it will work or not. So I am requesting for your suggestions and better ways to do this with a sample.
    Here is my thought:
I would like to place the encrypted FLV files at Apache Server side [ Need to know how to encrpt the FLV files using Flex]
As my AIR application send a request for a FLV file, the Apache server should send the decryption key and a stream of FLV file.
AIR application should take the decryption key, stream of flv file and it should capable enough to decrypt the FLV file and play it in my application. [ But I don't know how to encrypt/decrypt FLV files through flex]
I can do encryption of FLV files using Mac Address of Apache Server system and using Java. But I don't know how can I decrypt the same FLV file ( Encrypted using Mac Address and java ) at AIR application side.
So I would be greatfull If any body help me in encrypting and decrypting of FLV file with a sample using Flex 3.0.
    Thanks

Is it because the portable drive is NTFS format and the Mac wont recognise this? If so what do I do?
Yes, this is exactly what is causing the problem. Macs cannot write to NTFS formatted drives, only read. You must move the documents to the internal HDD/SSD of the Mac to be able to edit them.
Or, since you say you don't want to move the documents to the internal storage, you'll need to format the external HDD as FAT32.

Perhaps have all the link along with flv player within same
    file. All the links
load the flv in same player.
It could be XML driven and automatically populated. The
    easiest to maintain when
    comes to so much content.

  • Scorm html5 content from Presenter 10 and Moodle

Hi, after publishing html5 content as Scorm 1.2. zip from Presenter 10 and upload to Moodle 2.7. the content is playing as small ,,banner,, . I can see only playbar and very very small slides wich I can not extend or can not make full screen mode. Audio play, playbar works, only slides are something like miniatures. Have please any ideas?
    Yarik

I have tried the remove and re-add and it makes no difference. I can't now get the Presenter presentation with video in mp4 format to display or play. I am not sure if it is there or not as when viewing on an iPad it says it is buffering but never actually stops buffering. I can see it on my computer fine and it plays fine, but some of the reason for publishing to html 5 is so as it can be seen by people using tablets.  I just can't seem to get it to work no matter what I try.
    So to recap:
    1. using a presentation published using an older version of Presenter that contains flv videos
    2. republishing the presentation using Presenter 10 to a Connect Content Library using HTML 5
    3. have to convert the flv to mp4
    4. on a computer using a variety of browsers the presentation plays fine.
    5. on a tablet (iPad tried at this stage) the slides without video plays fine, the slides with video just continually says buffering
On the second point of Presenter throwing up an error message, it's not so much that it throws up the error message as I can cancel that. It's more to do with the fact that it throws it up each time I try to publish a presentation that includes video that is of a certain duration.  I have followed the whole kill the process as suggested and while this does indeed stop the problem it just comes back when I open PowerPoint again and try to publish.

  • Streaming .flv problem

When i stream .flv i have no image, only white background but
when i try in progressive work without problem!!
    Anyone have a idea?
    thx

I think you need to create a Video object, drag it to the
stage, set its dimensions, give it a name (try "theVideo") and then
in actionscript, prior to _ns.play(), run this:
    theVideo.attachVideo(_ns);
Then call _ns.play(). See if that helps!

  • Looping a streaming flv movie, but loop to halfway through flv

    Hello,
I've managed to loop my progressively streaming flv with both the following approaches (both gained from these forums - so thank you very much!)
Giving my FLV an instance name of "vid" and then adding this to an Action layer:
    var vidList : Object = new Object();
    vidList.complete = function() {
    vid.play();
    vid.addEventListener ("complete",vidList);
    stop();
Or simply attaching the following to the FLV itself:
    on (complete){
    this.autoRewind=true;
    this.play();
However, what I really want to do is have it loop back to a point, say, 5 seconds into the flv. I've tried gotoAndPlay instead of just play, but of course the swf only has the one frame so I don't think frame numbers are the way forward? I've been seeing "cuepoints" and "NetStream" coming up in various searches I've done - is that the way forward? They both seem quite complicated for something that I've almost solved using either of the above.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Tim

If it's scripted to be initially paused, you can simply
    position it in
the score to be off stage, insert a key frame at the frame
    were position
    moves to display location.

  • Streaming FLV vs. QT

Trying to decide which format to use and found the info from
    a site
    regarding .FLV:
    * It Just Works! Over 97% of all browsers already have the
    free
Flash player installed, so you won't have to worry about your
    audience
being able to view your Flash video.
    * Flash video will stream through firewalls!
    * Flash video does not require a streaming server!. Put
    Flash video
right on your website and it is ready for viewing without any
    extra
    hardware.
1.) Do 97% of the browser that have the player have the
    current one that
plays FLV files? Where can I get actual data on this?
2.) FLV can be played through firewalls, so does this mean
    that it can
not be blocked by IT at a company?
3.) By FLV not need a streaming server, does this mean that I
    can upload
a FLV to any simple hosted account and it will technically
    stream like a
QT file would stream from a streaming server?
    Thanks!!!!

    1. Which version of Flash player introduced the ability to
    play FLV files?
    2. So I am guessing that HTTP port 80 is the same port used
    to deliver
html pages, so by cutting this port it would also block
    access to web pages?
    3. What is the difference between simply uploading a FLV to a
    hosted
account and streaming it from a streaming server? What is the
    difference
    in performance?
    Thank you!!!!!
