Preset Template

I have 35 second ready made AE template from Pond5. This template is very easy to work with, just drop your photo and text, you are good to go. And now I have a problem, duration is too short when the text are displayed. They claimed, these template's are fully customize toward our needs , but how can I extend the text duration and keep the rest of the animation layers in sync? if I extend the whole clip to 60 second, how about the pre rendered video that is wwithin the project, that was made for 35 seconds only. I would thank anyone for help on this problem.

If you need a 35-second video to fill 60 seconds, you could use time-stretching or time-remapping.
If you're extending a layer and need to extend the animation, too, you may need to move some keyframes.
It's hard to know how to answer your question, because the answers would be different depending on your level of familiarity with After Effects. Until you ask more specific questions, I'm going to presume that you're not familiar with After Effects and suggest that you begin at the beginning.

What's a lulu preset template? One can load document or PDF presets, or open InDesign template files (.indt), but you don't install them, and of course any template made from a newer version of ID will not open in CS5.5.

AE Animation Presets/Templates previews not showing in Bridge

I am running CS5.5 on a Mac (10.6.8) and when I want to preview a text animation preset or project template, Bridge opens and I can click through the various presets/templates, but when they play, there is no preview...only a playhead that moves and the file name:
For example:
I have the .ffx and .aet files on my hard drive where the installer put them. Any thoughts as to why the previews don't show up in Bridge?
I am new to Bridge and thus far only use it for this purpose...

Otherwise then selecting the file and with right mouse click select purge cache for selection from the pop up menu I have no clue.

How do I change !doctype in preset template?

W3c supports this !doctype. I would like to find the file where this resides in my preset templates so it will start with the correct more modern !doctype. The preset in DW8 refers to a W3C page that no longer exists.

Just so you'll know, a doctype on a page has a single function - that is to alert the validator as to how to validate the page's markup.
Some years ago, browser manufacturers realized that they could piggyback on this function the ability to switch render modes, and so they implemented what is known as doctype switching. You can read more about that here - http://www.ericmeyeroncss.com/bonus/render-mode.html. The upshot of doctype switching is that if the page contains a valid and complete doctype, it will be rendered in standards mode. If it does not, it will be rendered in quirks mode.
Your page *had* a valid and complete doctype on it to begin with, hence it was already being rendered in standards mode. Standards mode is standards mode. Changing the doctype to another form will not affect that rendering, provided that the original one is valid and complete. Yours was. In other words, the mere changing of that doctype could not have possibly affected the rendering of the page, since it was already being rendered in standards mode.
There is something else happening. Does the page validate?

Compressor Custom Preset Template

Hello All. Does anyone know how to make a custom preset available to all users in a school lab? I tried putting them into the Compressor folder in the User Template directory on the server, but the don't show up when they log-in and start up Compressor. Any hints would be appreciated.

How can I retrive current user information in Content Server's presetation template?

We need to determine current user is the item's created user or not, so we want to know how to do this?
we can use <pcs:if expr="'Luke' == createdBy">....,but the 'Luke' is static string,
so, how can I retirve current user name in Content Server's presetation tempalte?

I don't know that this is possible in a direct fashion. (and, btw - thank you for asking this question. I realized we'll eventually need exactly the same thing so looking at this helps me as well :).
I'm quoting dev support from another posting on making community comparisons dynamic:
"This won't work because the pcs: tags are evaluated on the Content Server during the publish operation, resulting in a static HTML file that still contains the raw pt: tags. This same HTML file will be displayed in all of your communities. The pt: tags are evaluated on the portal server right before it returns content to the user, this allows the single HTML file to show a different name in each community. "
So the gist of things is that content server acts dynamic to you and I through the editing UI, but is really publishing static content. The values at run-time are not directly available to the PCS operators because...well...the PCS stuff is already done. It produced the static HTML showing up in the portlet.
There appear to be two immediate options:
Use the transformer tags to publish the user's name at run-time. Have the PCS and Transformer tags write their values into javascript strings and then compare this client-side. My response: "meh" Not for the purist, but I'm so far down the non-purist path at this point it just doesn't matter any more to me. Simple and to the point, but has known risks. Probably the easiest way to go.Publish your page as ASPX or JSP and then use the EDK server-side to manage the comparisons. Definitely more server-centric, but does require you do a quick bit of content server configuration. Just set the publishing target for the portlet to a directory on a web server and then set the publishing file extension to .ASPX or .JSP. I've done this with ASP and it works nicely. :)Not entirely the answer you or I were looking for, but I think it makes sense.
The PT transformer tags you'll want if you go with option (1) are:
Get the user's full name

Get a custom user setting "myUserSetting"

Lightroom 5 printing templates.

I am trying to print a contact sheet from lightroom but when i click on the template browser, the arrow changes to the down position but i have no preset templates contained within the file. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with LR 5. After deleting preferences, uninstalling and reinstalling and spending over an hour on chat 'support' with Adobe changing permissions, nothing worked. Finally, I found an obscure solution in a thread related to LR 4. I'm running OS X 10.9 (Mavericks). Check the print dialog box where you can select to print "all" the pages or a page range. For me, the page range radial was highlighted and the defined page range was "5" to "5". When I changed the print range to "1" to "1", it worked! I have no idea why.

Metadata presets dysfunctional

When I click on Metadata Presets, I no longer get the "Default" and "Edit Presets". Instead, they have been replaced by Adobe's long list of preset templates starting with "Black and White Presets". I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program to no avail. I have deleted the Library and unintalled and reinstalled to no avail. I have tried items on the Metadata listed on the tool bar to no avail. What can I do to get back the capability of editing and saving a custom preset?

Thank you, this has restored the presets but I now have to re-write the presets to all the photos in my catalog! I had to restore the program after restoring an image of my c drive [installed LR4 after the image was created] and I did not re-check my preferences.
Moral of the story: not only back up data regularly also back up system images regularly!

"Store Presets with Catalog" doesn't move existing presets

Is there a good reason why Lightroom does not offer to move current user presets when the "Store Presets with Catalog" is selected in Preferences>Presets?
If I have set up presets, templates etc. they are all gone without any warning as soon at this inocous little tick box is clicked.

Yes, the behavior is frustrating, goofy and not intuitive. It is alarming to see your user presets appear and disappear when you toggle the option check box on and off.
Not sure if Symbolic links are an option on Windows or not, but I use them on the Mac (instead of the breakable Aliases) along with DropBox. This way you I sync up multiple machines with my precious presets and other user created documents. This solves the problem of syncing DNG and Lens profiles which should but don’t live with the presets. Adobe should fill the preset folder with virtually every user configurable item like DNG profiles and Lens profiles and give us a way to easily keep them in sync.
I only use one catalog. So I have the Store Presets with Catalog on and clone the one drive among others to use with different machines. Symbolic Links take care of the other files but I wish I didn’t have to resort to this approach.

Access to templates in PP CS5

I wonder if anyone can help me. I would like to use some of the preset templates for a project I am working on. When I try and open them in the programme they are not there, but when I look in Applications>Presets, they are on my Mac. Probably being a numpty but can't seem to transfer them. Any help greatly received.

Thanks for that, I already looked at that page. I bought my copy of Creative Suite CS5 as discs so the templates are actually already on my Mac in Applications>PP>Presets>Templates they just aren't in the actual program when opened. I don't know how to get them to appear in the program. When looked at the link you posted before it seems to be only for CS6.

Lightroom Photobook Templates?

I have moved across from the Apple photo products - iPhoto and then Aperture - to Lightroom. Whilst I love the editing capability within Lightroom the photo book options are very limited. There are no preset templates and it is very time consuming having to 'design' a book and pages each time. Apple have a number of templates and pre sets which are very user friendly.
Is there something I am missing in Lightroom which would make the whole experience more enjoyable? or any Add on templates which are available?

I have also found the book module to be tedious. I prefer to export JPEG copies, and then use software provided by my book publisher to create the book. Then I have access to all of their templates and styles. The software provided seems to make more sense to me.

No. The previews are built into the animation preset files.

I don't know. As I said, I am no Bridge expert. This seems like a question for the folks on the Bridge forum. Yes, I know that you said that they pointed you here, but this is an issue with a media player built into Bridge, and that is outside of the scope of After Effects.

Smart presets

Smart or conditional presets; we can already run presets as import goes along. This is really useful, but many photos don't fit into a standard preset. sometimes exposures are off, sometimes cropping is not based on bottom left corner etc. I try to base my crops on the same corner, but I'm also an artist and go with the flow of taking my photos.
Vignetting
A problem I have is vignetting on lenses, I find my Canon L series 24-105mm IS USM on my canon 5D vignettes at least to 50mm.
My borrowed 14mm sigma vignettes a little ( it barrels terribly but its borrowed until my 12-24mm Sigma is repaired)
My 12-24 mm on my Canon 5D vignettes to bxxxgery, I have to put midpoint +75, amount +68 at 12mm!
I've got a series of presets that I apply to 12mm, 15mm, 18mm, 24 mm, 28mm,32mm, 35mm etc etc. These would be SO useful to apply on the import stage, so it would take a little longer but it would save so much time doing the boring number crunching.
if 12mm, apply midpoint +75, amount +68
if 15mm, apply midpoint +75, amount +50
etc etc
Reading the other posts, a noise filter for higher iso's would be great ( if the noise filters in 1.1 are going to be any better as has been hinted at in tantilsing but ultimately unhelpful dragging the carrot teasers )
if 100 asa, apply +10 luminance, +5 colour ( made up I use PS)
if 200 asa, apply +15 luminance, +8 colour ( see above)
etc etc
Another one I'd love would be to, on the import stage, create a virtual copy and apply the black and white / split toning preset that I am currently mad about for the wedding photos that I supply my clients.
All my good photos go into photoshop where I noise filter, presharpen and run what may well be the clarity USM then I usually add a little black - power retouche thanks guys and nic sharpen.
However, lightroom is really taking away most of these photoshop actions that I generically apply to my photos. Keep up the good work Adobe. I think Lightroom is great, I've played with it since beta 1 came out and I was damn hot with RSP before that.
What are you thinking Adobe? smart importing would be really great.
I'm sure many other people have their own preset templates that need applying after import, based on A and B or C or D if E etc
I'd really like it to keyword for me as well, any automated suggestions!!
(Someone has got his wife to do the keywording in another post regarding the licences and 2 computers but thats another post.)

I type my name into the search to see if anyone's commented to what I've written to see what been going on that I've commented on. - clever eh?!
Anyway in answer to your question, I zoomed 100 % into the corners and adjusted the midpoint and the amount by eye until I was happy, and referenced the whole image as well to see how it looked. Very mathematical and very sophisticated!
However, I feel that 90% of photos can really do with a little vignetting as it really draws ones eye to the subject - usually closer to the middle of the frame.

Where did my title templates go?

Suddenly, my title templates are gone. They were there yesterday. When I click the 'Title designer Presets' folder, it gives me a link to download preset templates, but there are no such downloads to be found. I have already downloaded the entire CS6 creative cloud.
Where would they be on my system?

This link refers to your problem. Currently I don't see a link for the CS6 Premiere Pro / Encore templates that has been posted yet.
