Presets download but hasn't gone into Lightroom

Hi I've just downloaded a preset file for Lightroom 3.6 and I unzipped the folder and selected Adobe Lightroom 3.6 for it to go to but all its done is literally put it in that folder it hasnt physically in the programme itself. What have I done wrong?

LillyCottage I would recommend posting your inquiry to the Photoshop Lightroom forum. The users there will be more familiar with applying presets.

That is my problem when I click the link to access my download there is no download available on my account. I purchased Adobe exportPDF 6 days ago but never got an e-mail to confirm that my payment had gone through and that it was available to download although the payment has been deducted from my visa card. I went through the FAQ and was directed to my account which showed that the payment was confirmed and export PDF was available to download. I followed the link to my downloads but it says I have no downloads. So the transaction is showing in my subscriptions but not in my downloads section. My order number is AD005040367IE.

How many pictures (or how many bytes) are we talking? Now that the pictures are imported one way to cross users is to use a removable drive (although large volumes of files preclude this).
The other is to login as the user where the pictures are, then copy them into the public drop box of the user where you want the picture.
The arrow is showing (in ths example) copy files from the Pictures folder for my user to the guest user accounts public dropbox. When you do this you may have to authenticate and you won't be able to see the results of the copy until you log in as the other user.
All users are in the folder "/Users/"

How to divide several timelapse squences gone into lightroom

Several timelapse sequences are in lightroom which need to be separated into folders. Unfortunately this was not done beforehand. How can I now put these sequences into separate folders in lightroom.?

To create a pop-out window, you'll have to have a complete page to give as the source of that pop-out.
So that would mean, that you need to have your <div>'s as part of one whole JSP and not together in one single one because then you can't separately pop them out.
What you could do is separate your 4 <div>'s and put them in four different files and then to get them together in one, use the <jsp:include> tag which dynamically put the output from each of the 4 JSPs into the main JSP. This way, when you want to pop out any section, you can just use JavaScript to hide the <div> on the main page ( set .display= 'none'; ) and give the URL of the pop out as the particular <div> that you want displayed.
Does give you any ideas?

Cannot download leica m9 dng files into lightroom

I started using LR (5) only recently (about 50 days ago). Have no problem downloading RAW files from my Nikon 600 but I am having difficulties downloading DNG files from my Leica M9 although I have done it before successfully when I started. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions?

Can not see Preveiws when downloading into Lightroom 3

In downloading photos from my CanonEOS60 into Lightroom 3 I am getting "Preveiw unavailable for this file" help.

Hi Jim, I have had Lightroom 3 since it came out and have always used raw and had a full preview of all the photos held in the camera, this is what I can,t understand.

Are these raw images or JPEG images? If they are raw images are you using the sRaw feature? I don't know if your model has that option. Just looking for possibilities.

I save my images to my hard drive then pull them into lightroom. Now when I do this my images are changing- they look like I've added a preset but all I have done is imported them. Can anyone help me with this?

My images are changing once I import them into lightroom. Initially they look the same as BOC then it changes image by image as if it is adding a preset. I am not aware of any changes I have made to the program.

If I edit a photo in Photoshop Elements, I can't seem to re-import it back into Lightroom. If I open the relevant folder on my Mac the image is present, but Lightroom just doesn't "see" it at all.

For some reason, my (Mac) Lightroom 5 won't recognise images in folders on my Mac that I've edited in either Photoshop Elements or Perfect Effects 8. If I've previously imported images from a specific folder, Lightroom will show these as greyed-out images (as normal) but will not show other images I've subsequently saved in that folder. Similarly, if I, say, select three images from Lightroom to use the Photomerge option in Elements, the subsequent saved image won't be recognised by Lightroom.
I've tried moving locations, saving in umpteen different formats etc., but the problem persists. No problem importing existing images from either SD card or old folders on the computer.
It's very frustrating!

Ah-Ha! Right, think I've worked out the problem!
When I save a photo from Photoshop, I often place it on the desktop with a view to e-mailing it or posting it somewhere on the internet. I've just looked at the file that was supposedly saved as a .psd, but under "properties" it has no file extension. So I added the .psd and bingo, up it popped in the LR import window! I've since gone into Photoshop preferences & ticked it to add a file extension. That's really odd - I've never deselected that option but, hey ho, mystery solved.

hello, there's a general regression in firefox 27 that won't allow files to download directly into a root drive. please try to create a subfolder (like ''E:\Downloads'') and set this as default location for downloads...

Import external XMP as preset into lightroom

Hello,
working as photojournalist i get xmp-files for every job i do from the editorial office. Once the pictures are made, i have to add these (basic)xmp to the pictures otherwise i won`t get it into the system of the publishing companies. Until know i safe the XMP-files into the Metadata template folder and add them directly using the import app of Bridge CS3. Now i changed to CS6 and LR5 and it would be much easier to add these XMP during the import of LR. I tried, i searched, but it seems to be i`m to dumb – i don`t find a posibility to get these XMP`s as a metadata-preset into Lightroom!
Is there a posibility?

Using Finder/Explorer, put the xmp file in the same folder as a picture that isn't in Lightroom and change its filename to match that picture. Import the picture into Lightroom, which should pick up the xmp file's metadata, and save a metadata preset or sync the metadata to other pictures.

Jim and Rob, thank you for taking your time to respond. I have a mac & a pc with 4 gigs of RAM in each. I originally experienced the problem on my mac and afterwards the same thing happened on the pc. I shoot with a canon 5d mark iii and never had this problem before, but what I'm realizing is that I'm running out of space on both the mac & the pc. After an afternoon of shooting today, I filled up a 32-gig card, so my TB hard drives are filling up ridiculously fast. I need to drop some load off both drives and reboot. Hope this will resolve the issue as I really don't think it's a canon-LR problem (I'm using the most updated 5.6 version). Again, thanks for your input. I'll keep you posted.

Downloaded a new txt tone. It has gone into Ringtones. How do I get into Text Tone on my settings?

You don't. Currently, custom SMS tones is not a feature of the iPhone. This will change when iOS 5.0 is released this fall, but for now what's on your phone are your only choices.
