Presets Missing CS6

Good day all,
Don't use the program too often but discovered today while installing Jarle's Presets that my Magic Bullet presets are missing.
Also when I close the Effects window and then reopen it the recently installed Jarle's Presets are missing as well.
Any ideas?
Thanks, in advance,
John

I think this is about Adobe's presets... Missing Presets/Activation http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1050730?tstart=0 so I don't if it covers other vendor items

  • Premiere CC presets missing and Can't Open Sequence error

I'm having a couple problems with Premiere.
I was working on a project that's been just fine for a while, but now when I try to open it, Premiere gives the error:
"This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type."
Also, in any project when I'm creating a new sequence, there are no useful presets. I found the sequence presets folder, and they're all in there, but they don't show up from within Premiere.
Also, when I import AVCHD .MTS files, I get video but no audio, even though they play ok in VLC
Solutions I have tried but which do not solve anything:
    1. Sign out, restart Premiere, sign back in
    2. Recreate the Adobe Premiere Pro preferences and plug-in cache. (using shift/option combo)
    3. uninstall premiere, reboot, run cleaner script, reboot, reinstall premiere
    4. uninstall premiere, reboot, run cleaner script, reboot, create new user account, install premiere in that user account instead of original account
I am aware of this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/features-presets-missing-premiere-pro.html
    and this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
Some pages I've come across have suggested running the cleaner script multiple times, but you can really only run it once, because after the first cleaning, when you run it again nothing shows up on the list to be cleaned.  Are there still remnants of Adobe stuff left on my machine uncleaned by the cleaner script that I need to delete manually?
Has anyone else had this problem but not had any of the adobe-suggested solutions work for them and eventually fixed this?
This is Adobe Premiere CC 2014.  I'm running it on a Mac Book Pro that's less than a year old, running OSX 10.9.5 w/ 16GB of memory.
This is INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING.  I've spent most of the day troubleshooting this issue and all I want to do is edit my video. A cursory search of the internet shows that I am far from alone in having this problem. Also, reinstalling is not trivial because the download speeds where I am are slow.

Well, it took a long time, but I eventually got it working properly.  All of the presets and codecs show up, I can import AVCHD files properly with audio, and the project I couldn't open before now opens fine, so it turned out not to be a corrupt project. It looks like the problem was that the cleaner script didn't actually clean everything it should have, and I had to do it all manually.
I uninstalled all of the Adobe Creative Cloud software, rebooted, ran the CC Cleanup script, and rebooted again.
Then I uninstalled Flash and ALL other Adobe software I had on my machine.
Then I used the Find Any File app to find every reference on my Mac to any file with "adobe" in the name--including system files--and deleted them and emptied the trash.
The only Adobe things I left on my machine were the Adobe RGB color profile and any Adobe fonts I had.
Empty the trash again, reboot again.
Then I used the CC installer to install Premiere and only Premiere (I didn't even install Adobe Media Encoder) because I didn't want to go through all that download time only to have it fail on me again.
And at long last it worked. Then I went back and installed Media Encoder, which didn't seem to break anything, so I went back and installed the other CC software I wanted on my machine, and things are working at last.
The "cleaner" script leaves a LOT of Creative Cloud-related files on your machine, which, in my opinion, means it's not a very effective "cleaner."  It seems to want to leave a lot of preference files and other files whose purpose I don't know (but I deleted them anyway).  There should at least be a checkbox somewhere on the cleaner that says "wipe absolutely everything related to Adobe off of my machine".
Thanks again for your suggestions, Neil.

  • Load, edit or delete PDF presets in CS6 InDesign not possible.

Load, edit or delete PDF presets in CS6 InDesign not possible, it says: The folder may be write protected.
How do I solve this problem? I also work with Adobe Acrobat Professional X.

    OK.
Lets back up a bit and take things step by step so we all know exactly what's going on, and what you've tried and haven't tried.
First, what version of Windows are you using? The use simple file sharing is the very last option on my system (XP Pro) if you open Explorer and then use Tools > Folder Options > and select the View tab. This is also the tab where you will need to make hidden and system files visible, and I strongly recommend showing extensions for known file types as well. As far as I know this option (not to use simple file sharing) is available in XP home, too.
Second, once you've taken care of the first part, please do a search using the search in Windows Explorer, for *.joboptions under all files and be sure to select more options to search hidden and system files. You may find these files in more than one location, but the bulk of them will be in \Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Adobe PDF\Settings (note that this is the same directory as the one in the tree called "shared documents" -- I have no idea why the name is displayed differently in the folder tree than in the path in the address bar). Right click on one of those and select "Open Containing Folder" option.
The folder should open in a new window. Click the go up one level button in the toolbar (looks like a folder with an upward arrow on it), then right-click the settings folder icon and select either Properties or Sharing and Security (both open the properties dialog) and click on the security tab.
At this point, in all probability, the allow options are all grayed out because they should be inherited from the parent object. On my system the only user listed is "everyone" and they have full control. If yours is different, please let us know, and we'll go from there. If it's the same we'll try something different.

The above would be the folder for the 32 bit Photoshop on a 64 bit Windows system.
This would be where you'd find the 32 bit files on a 32 bit system, or the 64 bit files on a 64 bit system:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Presets\Levels
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Presets\Levels

  • PE7: Project Presets missing

I searched for previous threads on this topic and performed the recommended steps to fix it:
    1. Tried reinstall>restart.
    2. Tried uninstall>restart>cleanup>restart>install>restart
    3. Deleted pref file and forced PE7 to create a new one.
None of the above steps helped. The project presets are still missing when I try to create a new project. I am forced to stick with 'DV NTSC Standard 48khz'. Can someone help me with this? Maybe someone can upload their presets in a zipped file and tell me where I should unzip them in my PE7 install structure.

Premiere Elements 7 missing project settings...

Re: Premiere Elements 7 missing project settings...
See the last post on this.
    Hi all,
There is an even easier way to do this - avoiding the installation and all
that... Just follow the steps below:
    1) Download the Premiere Elements 7 trial version from adobe.com (or even
better - I have attached the file to this post)
    2) Run the extractor but cancel the install-process. Now all installation
files are extracted in a folder. In my case I extracted to "\desktop\Adobe
    Premiere Elements 7"
    3) Open the folder '\Adobe Premiere Elements 7\CoreTemplates' with in the
    folder you extracted to.
    4) Extract the file 'settings.zip' to a folder of your choice
    5) Now copy the folder (and subfolders) with the same language code of your
PRE7 installation (In my case I copied the 'en_US' folder) into the Adobe
program folder in a subfolder you name 'Settings'. (In my case running a
danish windows the path is 'C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements
    7.0\Settings'
When finish you shold have a folder called 'C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe
    Premiere Elements 7.0\Settings\en_US' with subfolders..
And voila - settings is back in the startup window...

    Hope this clears things up.

  • 3D Cube Mesh Preset missing in Photoshop CS6 Extended?

I only see the Cube Wrap, which puts the same texture on all faces. I want to have a different image on each face, and the Cube Preset in CS5 lets me do that.
Am I missing something in CS6?

Both the CS5 and CS6 v13.0.1 "Cube" models have problems.
The CS5 cube has good geometry with no gaps between faces, but the left and right faces have U and V directions swapped, which results in their textures being rotated by 90 degrees.
Faces except the right are initialised with an empty 512 x 512 pixel texture but the right face texture has the size of the main document, which very often will not be square and results in that texture being stretched on the square face of the model.
The model is presented with back face toward the camera when the 3D layer is created.
The CS6 v13.0.1 cube has good UV mapping, but the front face of the model is misaligned, which results in edge gaps being rendered as lines.
Faces except the front are initialised with an empty 512 x 512 pixel texture but the front face texture has the size of the main document, which very often will not be square and results in that texture being stretched on the square face of the model.
At least it is presented with front face toward the camera when the 3D layer is created.
It's astounding that in v13.0.1 that something as simple as a cube model is still botched. There really must be a shameful deficit of software testing at Adobe Photoshop.

We have a problem using the print booklet feature in CS6. We can't choose print presets, resulting in low res PDF files and low res print work. How can we solve this problem?

  • CS6 problems: AE composition crash, DSLR preset missing?

    Hey there,
I just installed the new trial for Premiere CS6 and it's feeling great, although I got 2 problems by now:
    1. When starting a new project and a new composition, where did the presets for DSLR based composition go to? All I can see is DV presets.
    2. I get a crash when trying to render an AE imported composition (after it was transferred to AE through Premiere), anyone knows why or what can I do to resolve it?
    Thanks a lot
    Or

    1.  In Premiere Pro, it's called a sequence.  If the only sequence presets you have are DV based, then something got smurfed with your installation.  You'll have to uninstall, run the Adobe Clean Script utility, reboot and reinstall.
    2.  Something got weird with your install.  Try again after finishing step one above.

  • Xdcam preset missing

    Hello,
I have recently installed the CC suite that includes Premiere Pro CC.
The version I am using is Premiere Pro CC v8.1, Caravan (I don’t what “Caravan” refers to).
I have no problem playing the files I’m mostly using like, DNxHD 120 and v210, (AVI & MOV containers).
However the MPEG2 OP-1a with MXF container I cannot. The error message I get is:
    “Unsupported format or damaged file.”
On previous version of Premiere Pro CS6 & CS 5.5 I still can play them without problems.
On top of that I saw that the XDCAM preset are not showed anymore in the preset list of Premier Pro CC and it looks like codecs are missing.
I have deinstall the whole adobe CC suite by following instructions I found on the Adobe support site  and I re-installed it but it haven’t solve my problem.
I spend time on the forum to look at a solution but haven’t found the answer on my problem.
According the specs of Premiere Pro CC, it should support natively the MPEG2 OP-1a.
    Any solution to resolve that?
    Thank you

    I have resolve the problem:
    Signed out from Adobe CC
    Reinstalled workstation from scratch
    Applied all windows updates
    Installed Adobe CC
All XDCAM presets are now active and everything seems to be right in place.
It seems that any previous or different installs like trail or education can occur problems for any new or different licence install, even if running the Adobe cleaner.

  • Illustrator actions stopped remembering pdf preset in CS6

    Hi guys,
I used to have my actions set up so i could easily save PDFs with different pdf presets, depending what the work was for (print, magazine ad with bleed, newspaper ad without bleed etc).
Now when I try CS6 and set up these actions in Illustrator it seems like the action wont use the preset I set it up with, and just defaults to the last one used.
Is there something I'm missing or is this indeed a flaw in CS6?  Its pretty time-saving for me so it would be a big deal-breaker upgrading to CS6.
    thanks

I had pdf actions that saved them to my desktop in CS5. Imported them into CS6, they did not work so rerecorded them in CS6 and they work.

  • I lost most of my codec presets in CS6, how do i fix this?

About a week elapsed between using CS6 and the last time i wanted to use it the codec presets were mostly gone.  How can i fix this?

The driver update didn't have any effect on premiere pro cs5.5 which i resorted to using instead of 6.
But it may on all that Mercury stuff, which I guess is the whole point, since OpenCL/ CUDA is also used for encoding. Check your prefs and revert to other modes.

  • Where are the Gradient color presets in CS6?

    Hi,
I've gone from CS4 to CS6 and when using the Gradient tool, there used to be a properties box that you could open with a whole list of preset color gradients to choose from, i used to use the 'Black - White' one all the time, which kinda blurred the edges, made a transparent gradient and allowed, for want of a better word, montages to be created easily, but now this function seems to have gone. Is it hiding somewhere that I don't know about? Or alternatively, can someone advise me on how to get the same effect that the Black White Preset used to give me?
    Thanks a lot
    Jules

Yeah, those gradients are gone in CS6. On the one hand, most of them were pretty cheesy; on the other hand, it's a bit surprising they took away those presets but still didn't offer users a simple way to save gradients.
One way that you can save gradients is as Styles. As an experiment, I actually did this one day for the classic Fireworks gradients. Once created, styles can be saved as a library, where you can call on them from within any FW document.
Another way to quickly create a black and white gradient is by setting the fill and/or stroke colors, which are the basis of gradients. You can reset the default fill and stroke colors within the Tools panel. However, this can be tricky, at times, depending on what objects are selected and what type of fill they already have; it can be easy to accidentally apply a stroke to an object this way. Alternatively, if Stroke is set to None, then setting Fill to Black will result in a black and white gradient when you switch to a gradient Fill type.
