Presets or Bookmarks

Is there a way to preset or bookmark the Internet Radio Stations in iTunes? I would like one click access. If anyone knows, I would appreciate it...

  • Thanks for the firmware upgrade, but....

    Creative,
I appreciate the latest firmware upgrade (.22.03), but am frustrated I can still look forward to more embarassing moments as a result of your "Auto-On" speaker function. A firmware update that provides the ability to override this feature is long overdue!

One better thing about this update is that it didn't trash my radio station presets and bookmarks.

  • I get no browser home page; no favorites/bookmarks; no back buttons; no tools, etc. just a generic Firefox bar with preset sites which go nowhere when clicked. I have windows vista home premium. Firefox works fine on my desktop

Upgraded to latest Firefox version on my laptop w/ Vista Home Premium and get no browser page; no back buttons; no bookmarks/favorites; no address bar...nothing like a typical browser page...all I have is a cumbersome Firefox bar that has preset sites that do nothing when clicked.
FF worked fine before I "upgraded". Want 3.5 back

I followed your instructions and installed Developer Suite 10G on Windows Vista Home Premium edition. I have Oracle 11G DB running on the same machine.
    Two points, Steve:
    1. When I tried to set the maximum virtual memory to 6110 an error message displayed from Windows and told me that I can't set the maximum virtual memory to more than 4096. I set it to 4090 and it worked and I got nothing wrong during the installation process.
    2. After installing JInitiator and disabling Java on Firefox I called the http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet page and everything seemed to be OK because the Oracle Forms Services logo appeared and then a successful installation message appeared , but as I clicked (ok) to continue a gray screen appeared inside the browser (like the one displayed when you try to run a Java applet inside a browser) and then I wait to death till something appears but sadly nothing. I just get a blank gray screen inside my Firefox browser.
Do you have any idea what to do to solve the problem?
    Regards

  • My bookmarks have disappeared just shows preset ones on my ipad

My bookmark folders have disappeared from my bookmark bar where could they have gone I set up folders they've disappeared. I thought I would have to set up the folders again but I can't seem to even create a folder. Ipad 3 safari

First of all check the settings for Safari. Settings>Safari>Always show bookmarks bar>On. If that is set properly, try quitting Safari completely and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You can try this as well. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If you are syncing bookmarks with iCloud, that could be an altogether different issue as well

  • Firefox doesn't retain changes in settings, such as acceptance of cookies, srting bookmarks alphabetically, as examples.

As in the example below, I set the cookies choice, but after I close it and return, it changes back. Have the same problem with trying to alphabetize bookmarks.

hi teddy44, your cookie settings shown in the second screenshot do not differ from the default "firefox will: remember history" preferences. the "use custom settings" will only stick if you make changes to those presets.

  • Cannot delete or add bookmarks in Safari 8.0.3 on my iMac

Although I've been a Mac user forever, I've always preferred Google products, especially Chrome.  I decided to give Safari another try after updating to 8.0.3 but am ready to go right back to Chrome and just deal with the syncing issues.
I am trying to personalize Safari and absolutely cannot get the bookmarks to change.  I do NOT want Bing, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or Yahoo in my favorites (they aren't MY favorites, goshdarnit!) but no matter how I try to delete them (right-click, delete; drag into the desktop; delete from the menu) they always pop back when I restart Safari.
Moreover, any bookmarks I add (including bookmark folders) disappear as soon as I log out.  I have researched the issue (clearly I'm not alone with this problem) and have tried the following:
    1.  Opened iCloud preferences from Finder and unchecked the box next to Safari.  Restarted computer.  No love.
    2.  Another user asked a similar question (it wasn't answered) and someone suggested he try to move the bookmarks.plist to the desktop and then relaunch Safari.   I tried to move bookmarks.plist to the desktop and relaunch Safari but when I got to the part in the instructions where I was to paste bookmarks.plist into the "Go To" text box in Finder, I got the error message that "library can't be found.
I have also "turned the computer off and turned it back on again" several times, just to make sure.
I'm at a loss.  I'm not *that* computer savvy so I've been reluctant to do anything that requires going into directories and typing a lot of stuff that looks suspiciously like code  :-)
So now I'm stuck with these stupid "favorite" bookmarks stinking up my favorites bar and no way to add my own.  I have checked Safari settings on my iPad and iPhone (both brand new and everything updating to iCloud and supposedly synced) and they both have different preset favorites than the ones on the iMac.  I have only tried to save bookmarks on the iMac.
    TIA!

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags -h nouchg,nouappnd,noschg,nosappnd {} + -exec chown -h $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -h -N {} + -type d -exec chmod -h +x {} + 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
    resetp
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • I have updated to the new version of iPhoto but it will no longer let me edit text in the preset text boxes.  The text is highlighted for a nanosecond but will not stay highlighted so I can amend it.  Can anyone help me with this.  Many thanks.

I have updated to the latest version of iPhoto.  But now iPhoto will not let me amend the preset text in the text boxes.
the text is highlighted for a nano second but it will not stay highlighted so that I can add my own text.
can anyone help me with this issue.

You might try using the add-on 'NoSquint' which allows numerous zoom options specific to each page you visit & keeps your settings - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nosquint/
If you want to go back to 3.6x, you will find it here:
    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
In most cases you can simply "upgrade" (meaning downgrade) directly from the installation. It would be a good idea to save your passwords & bookmarks just to be on the safe side.

  • __is there a way to save a preset for audio mixer settings...??

    I have CS5
Looking to speed up the process so that I don't have to redo the audio mixer settings for every project - rather just tweak where needed.
So wanted to setup the audio mixer how I want it - and just have it set as default for all projects or have some automated way to apply the same audio mixer settings to each new project.
What's the best way to do this my people ?
    Thanks!

I agree with Jim Simon.  Creating your own template is a good workaround to what would be a good feature.
The ability to save audio presets (and more) is in my feature request list for Pr:

Please add your voice to the chorus requesting this feature, and any (or all) of the other useful features on my list.  Adobe listens.  Strength in numbers.   Here's the feature request link:

  • PDF Bookmarks From FrameMaker Books

This question is about bookmarks in a PDF file generated from a Framemaker book where I want different bookmarks for different chapters. I am using FrameMaker 8.02 on Windows.
Here is a simplified view of my chapter files and the paragraph tags for which I want bookmarks:
    Table of Contents.fm Title
    Chapter 1.fm Title, Heading1, Heading2
    Index.fm IndexTitle, GroupTitlesIX
I used the PDF Setup dialog to set the bookmarks for each chapter as shown above.
If I choose File->Save As PDF on the book, FrameMaker presents the PDF Setup dialog which overwrites my preset bookmarks settings in the individual chapters. I can not choose a superset of all the bookmarks because GroupTitlesIX does not appear in either of the lists of paragraph tags to be converted to bookmarks. Despite this, I do get a bookmark for the GroupTitlesIX paragraphs in the index.
If I choose File->Print Selected Files, Acrobat also changes the paragraph tags/bookmarks setting for each selected file.
What would clarify this is an explanation of how FrameMaker chooses which paragraph tags to convert to bookmarks and under what circumstances FrameMaker changes the paragraph tags/bookmarks setting for files of a book.
Or simply how to you use different paragraph tags for bookmarks in different files of a book?
    Thanks.

    Hey Howard,
We use the Save as PDF all the time and don't have any problems with our bookmarks. We did have to be a little creative in order to get the different headings in the different chapters to show up as bookmarks. All we do is to import the different paragraph styles into the first file in the book (in our case, it is "front.fm"), which usually involves importing the paragraph tags from the TOC, one chapter file, and then Index.
When you are ready to create your PDF file, make sure the first file (with all the required para tags) is selected, then do a Format > Document > PDF Setup and configure your bookmarks. Now do a Save as PDF on the book, still with that particular file selected, and double-check your bookmark settings. All required bookmarks should still be available.
Now they are forever configured and you can successfully do a Save as PDF file every time.

  • Bookmarks in Book exported to PDF

I have a INCS3 (5.0.2) book that is made up of 10 chapters and includes a Table of Contents.
I have created a PDF print preset that is configured to include bookmarks & any hyperlinks however when I export this to PDF then try and select a page from the contents page to navigate to, I am directed to the cover page for the document. This happens regardless of the page I select.
    What could be the problem..?

    Anybody..?

  • How can I Disable or Remove the entire Bookmarks Toolbar Feature?

I really LOVE Firefox. With over thirty years into the desktop computing industry, I can honestly say it's one of the most impressive development efforts I've seen. Thank you, seriously, all of you, everyone who has worked toward creating, maintaining and enabling the presence of this truly wonderful application!
I have never sought specific help with this one thing, and was just reminded a moment ago, how much better Firefox would be (for me) if I could completely disable/ uninstall the entire Bookmarks Toolbar _feature_. By the time this feature appeared, I had already developed and established my own system for filing bookmarks into a preset folder hierarchy. This works -much- better (for me) and I have no use for the Bookmarks Toolbar. It's always in my way, takes up screen space, and just really annoys the fecal-stuffin's out of me. Kinda reminds me of the -worst- things I remember of M$.
Once the feature is (somehow) killed, I'd like to then...
...Remove that folder from Bookmarks (menu, folder, etc -- all of it), and preferably, prevent it ever reappearing (setting 'lock'?).
I realize this -might- be something not currently 'doable' by standard means. If that should be the case, can someone forward this message into the 'feature request' queue for me? I truly would appreciate that.
Thank you in advance, and THANK YOU for Firefox!!!

Wow, cor-el... Did you -intend- your reply to be inane, inappropriate and completely inapplicable?
How would that possibly do what I asked?
You -might- consider '''''reading''''' the question, -=before=- you reply. And it's really okay to NOT REPLY if you just don't know. Just an idea.
    Feel better, real soon.

  • Most of my bookmarks disappeared and restore does not bring them back. How do I get my bookmarks back and how do I keep this from happening again?

The folder that I added to the bookmarks menu has disappeared (along with the subfolders in it). The bookmarks I have that were not organized in a folder (just listed on the bookmarks menu) are still on the bookmarks menu. Tags from the lost bookmarks are still there, but they are empty.
The "recently bookmarked" option just lists the bookmarks I had added to the bookmark menu (but not put in folders) and the default bookmarks from Mozilla and Windows Live. There were many things in the lost bookmarks that were more recent than these.
I tried restoring from an automatic backup and that didn't work. My browser history seems accurate though.
I only have one firefox profile.

I don't think it is the corrupt localstore.rdf file since none of the problems listed in that article are happening. The disappeared folder and bookmarks do not appear in the sidebar or in the menu.
I can still add bookmarks and the back/forward navigation still works. I do not want to do anything that will delete my history.
I downloaded the places.sqlite extension suggested and tried "Rebuild Indices." That did not bring my missing bookmarks back.
I had it do the "Deep Check" preset and this is what it told me

  • Import / Export Script Presets problem

    Hi all,
I've an issue when trying to import / export custom scripts using the import/export presets command in CS6.
I like to have custom scripts accessible under the File > Scripts menu, so I keep them in the Application / Presets Folder. I've found if I store them in the Users/ Presets folder they don't appear under the File > Scripts menu.
If I use the Export Presets command, I can't export custom scripts stored in the application folder, only if I have them stored in the User/Preset directory.
If I go to another machine and use the Import Preset Option, I can get it to import the custom scripts from a back up folder, but they get installed in the User/Presets directory, so I end up having to manually move them afterwards.
Is there a way around this ? It's great being able to package the presets and quickly install them elsewhere, but at the moment I'm still having to move the scripts by hand

    HI,
I've no idea why you get that error, but there's a simpler way to transport your bookmarks to another machine.
    /Users/YourUsername/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
Copy that file to the equivalent location on the other machine and that's it.

  • After I export my bookmarks in HTML, a specific folder is shown empty. Can you help please?

I export all my bookmarks in HTML. Everything appears fine in html format except of one folder (the one I need, heh!). Any ideas why is that?
    Thanks

You may have a problem with the database that stores your bookmarks and history. Try the following.
    # Open your profile folder.
#* [[Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data]]
    # Exit Firefox.
    # Create a backup copy of the ''places.sqlite'' file.
    # Use the Places Maintenance add-on with the "All" preset.

If you mean the address field in Safari, choose Show Toolbar or Customize Toolbar from the View menu.
If you mean the spring icon in the Dock, that's not an application. Open any site in Safari and drag the little icon of it to the Dock; the preset icon points to http://www.apple.com/macosx/
rkaufmann87: The Safari Dock icon doesn't contain an @, and no other Mac web browser icon I've seen does.
