Press B3 on a keyboard, and the tone never shuts off
This is happening in the ES E synth, the ES M, the ES1, the ES2, and EXS24. And only in Logic, not in Reason or Live.
I select one of these synths, and as soon as I press the B3 key on my MIDI controller keyboard, the key tone will never shut off. All other keys continue to work fine, but that B3 will never shut up again once it is pressed. This happens (currently) 100% of the time for me.
Makes the software pretty useless..

Your computer will not boot.
It sounds like you may have a problem with your board.
I’d suggest take the computer somewhere local and have them check everything out.

It probably overheated and shut down. Hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons until an Apple logo appears. This will take 10 to 15 seconds of holding both buttons.

Why, Please help.Try giving your iPad a reset. HOld down the sleep and home keys, past when you see the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again. If there's a glitch that can clear it.

as listed in the title, my phone just flashes on me no start up just flashes from the apple logo to shutting off and back and forth i did the update this afternoon (9-26-2012) and it still wont start up!!!
Something in your backup may be corrupt. Try wiping it and setting it up as a new device, then sync your apps, data and media back to it from iTunes. DO NOT resotre from your backup. If the problem is contained in the backup, it will bring it right back again if you restore.

I plugged in a charger for my iPhone and the system immediately shut off. What can I do?
Immediately I thought the worst, I just fried my computer. After looking through the forums I did disconnect and reset the battery connector carefully, no progress. When I plug in my charger, the power light shows this dim pathetic green like it has given up on life. I'm now assuming I have a serious problem, before I go to the Genius Bar I want to confirm this here and also I'm wondering if I will have to pay for the damages? If so how much does a replacement board run?

'When I explained my symptoms to the Genius tech, he said it sounds like "coma mode". Like Mr. H said, happens when the lid is open and closes to quickly. My machine checked out just fine from the diagnostic check. The Genius tech gave me this tip to get the MacBook out of "coma mode." You have to make sure that you macbook is hooked up to the AC power supply. Then depress the power switch (keep holding it down) and press the Option+Control+Shift keys. Keep these keys held for while counting to 5 and release. You Mac should come out of it coma and be ready to go.'

I cant use the X key on my imac wired keyboard, the key viewer shows the two commands keys pressed when i hit x and the caps lock light is always on....not really sure what happened, but i didnt do anything different from my daily stuff
just an update....when i hit the right command key it respond normal (cmd v cmd c...etc) but when i hit the left command key it shows the x and two commands pressed as well as it delete what i'm working on i.e like backspace but takes out everything at once

Sounds mostly likje a bad KB, do you have another to test with?

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

My Macbook Pro 17" 2.44ghz all of a sudden one day decided to not boot up. When the power button is pressed the sleep light in the front on the latch release turns on and there is a small running sound but it never boots up and the screen never lights up. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas?
I'd love to repair it but not if it'll cost 500 bucks or more to replace the logicboard.

yes, you can locate and copy a file from your HD to a USB key using UNIX commands. If you know the exact name of the file which you’re trying to locate, try this:
find / -iname filename -print
This command will search your entire internal disk for the particular filename. If you know that it’s within a particular user account, then you can save search time with this variation:
find /Users/username -iname filename -print
Either variation of this command will print all files found which have the given filename. Presuming that you’re able to identify the correct file, you can copy it to a USB key using the command
cp -p filename_returned_by_find /Volumes/USB_volume
If you’re not sure which volume name your USB key has, this command will show you what the possibilities are:
ls /Volumes

I pressed some keys in iPhoto and the picture "icons" shrunk. How to get them back to their original larger size?

Exposé just stopped working, both the key on the keyboard and the multitouch gesture gets no response. Does anyone have any idea why, or how to solve it?
I found a way to fix it. Simply restart the dock by using "killall Dock" in the terminal.

From your Safari menu bar (top of your screen) click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
Turn that off, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, click View from your Safari menu bar then click Show Toolbar
You may have hit Option + Command + T on your keyboard by accident. -
Dear all, Since a week ago I observe that when I press the button for my macbook air to start a nap, first the screen turns to black (although I can see it is stil on) and I can see the arrow (pointer). Only after 15 seconds the arrow and the screen really shut down. It did not occur before, as a matter of fact it was instantaneous. What could be the problem?
Note the time in your Mac's menu bar or some other accurate timepiece. Then, press the button to put the MBA to sleep. Wait until the cursor disappears and for all indications that the Mac appears to be asleep.
Then, wake the Mac the way you normally wake it.
Then, find the Console app - it is in your Utilities folder and looks like this
You can find it by selecting Utilities from the Finder's Go menu.
Open Console.
If the log list column on the left is not already displayed, show the log list by selecting Show Log List from Console's View menu.
Locate system.log in the list and select it. Many date and time-stamped entries will appear, hundreds of them, and you must find the entries relevant to your Mac's sleep problem. To do that type the words sleep cause in the Filter field at the upper left of the Console window:
That will cause all log entries to be hidden, except for the entries containing those words. The last entry in the list will correspond to the last time you woke the Mac. It will have a time stamp in the form hh:mm:ss later than the time you noted in the Mac's menu bar prior to putting it to sleep.
Make note of that exact time in hours, minutes, and seconds.
Next: Clear the filter field by clicking the x in the above screenshot. It should then look like this:
All previously displayed log entries will reappear.
Next: Find the log entry that corresponds exactly to the time you noted in hours, minutes, and seconds containing the words "previous sleep cause". You may have to scroll up or down a considerable distance. When you find that line, select it and drag your cursor up and prior to the entry corresponding to the approximate time you noted before putting the Mac to sleep. This will result in a selection of perhaps 50 to 100 lines or so.
One or more of them, along with their time stamps, may reveal the reason for the fifteen second delay.
Copy and paste those log entries in a reply.
Most of the entries will be cryptic but will contain information you might consider personal such as your Mac's name. If you do not want that information to appear, delete or obscure it when posting your reply. Leave enough information so that the entries can be deciphered. -

I don't think this is a Firefox issue, but the keyboard shortcut is Ctrl+Alt+[Arrow Key]. Ctrl+Alt+Up should put your monitor back in the proper orientation.

Wait 15 seconds.
Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
The 5 second timing is important to a successful reset.
PRAM RESET
Zap the PRAM
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
