Press Control+Spacebar.

I the code hinting activation by Press Control+Spacebar is not working? I have also looked in prefeences and all is ticked.
im using cs5 11 build and using windows 7 64bit. As im about to start working on a wordpress site and need the code hinting as its my first time using and making a theme.
Thanks for any help

Daniel I don't want to discourage you, but the code hinting doesn't always work all the time.  I have it on sites I use, and it's a very sporadic feature and when it does work, it doesn't update as much as Wordpress does so when new functions are added or older functions are modified, DW doesn't update accordingly.  Personally speaking I think support for the CMS in DW would be better if they were supported by the individual CMS communities.

I have never had AE jumpt back to the start of the timeline and posting that information does not help you. I can assume you have a some sort of pref incorrectly set or your keyboard has been tweaked at the OS level to interpret a spacebar in AE as a Media Start command.
    From the AE help system:
To modify keyboard shortcuts, use the KeyEd Up script from Jeff Almasol, which is available on the Adobe After Effects Exchange website.
Sebastien Perier provides instructions on his website for assigning keyboard shortcuts to scripts so that you can run a script with a single keystroke. This technique relies on the KeyEd Up script.

  • Whilst playing a selection from a CD I've put in my CD drive, I select Controls and then wish to increase the volume.  It tells me to Press Control and then Up.  Where is the Up button please ?  Thank you.

My question is how do I increase the volume when playing a CD in iTunes.  The volume slide is at full, but when I press Controls, it tells me to press Control and UP.  Where is the UP on my PC or is it on the screen ??
    Thank you.

It means the UP arrow on your keyboard. Depending on your keyboard, it is usually located on the right hand side of the keyboard, either with the numbers keys or below the Enter (Return) key.
However, Control/Up will simply attempt to move the slider in your iTunes programme further up. If the slider is already at the top, then those keys will have no effect, since the iTunes volume is already at maximum. Perhaps your computer's volume controls need adjusting.
In Windows XP, I believe (if I recall correctly) that the volume control is in Start/Accessories/ and either Volume or Mixer. In Windows 7, it's in Start/Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Adjust Sytem Volume.

  • A small but very irritating bug in Mail: after pressing the spacebar after typing an apostrophe in a word such as "we're", the cursor moves to the left i.e. backwards, and not to the right, effectively deleting a space and not creating one.

When composing an email in Mac Mail I've noticed a small but very irritating bug: pressing the spacebar after typing an apostrophe in a word, e.g. "we're", the cursor moves to the left i.e. backwards, and not to the right, effectively deleting a space and not creating one.
    Any ideas?

I just recreated this problem on my iMac (wired KB, no wireless KB) by changing Mail > Preferences > Composing > Spellcheck from "as I type" to "never". Then type a contraction ending in 're and the space bar causes the cursor to jump back as others have stated, to the spot 'r|e
Next, I went into System Preferences > Keyboard > Text, and turned off "use smart quotes" and the problem went away again.
From this point (smart quotes off, spell checking never), if I turn Smart Quotes ON, the problem returns.
The problem is dependent on the state of both settings.
The spacebar in Mail "works" if I have either of the following setting combinations:
Keyboard: smart quotes OFF, Mail: check spelling ANY SETTING
Keyboard: smart quotes ON, Mail: check spelling AS I TYPE
    Other combinations FAIL
Keyboard: smart quotes ON, Mail: Check spelling NEVER
Keyboard: smart quotes ON, Mail: Check Spelling WHEN I CLICK SEND
Looks to me like there's a bug in Mail > Preferences > Check spelling > NEVER and WHEN I CLICK SEND that interacts badly with Keyboard > Smart quotes ON.
    Thanks.

  • I have a 17" computer, and I'dlike to use the entire screen to view, but in order to do so, I have to press Control + several times at each site.

I have a 17" computer, and I'dlike to use the entire screen to view, but in order to do so, I have to press Control + several times at each site. I don't want to use "full screen."
Does anyone know how to set a default to maximize the screen? For some reason, the screen appears even smaller than my old 15" computer.

Yes, it's a hassle to zoom every single site manually. You can "zoom" all sites using this add-on: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2592/ NoSquint]. After setting your Global zoom level, you can still fine-tune the zoom on individual sites.
After installing NoSquint, click the % on the Add-on Bar to call up site preferences, then click the Global Settings button, then the Zooming tab.
If you don't have the Add-on Bar displayed, you can right-click the new tab button ("+") or a blank area of the tab bar to the right of it and choose Add-on Bar from the shortcut menu.
You can experiment with sizes larger than 125%, but I wouldn't go much higher than 150% unless you have a large high-resolution monitor.
If there are particular sites that still present a problem, feel free to post their URLs.

  • How do I turn off the requirement to press control when using a function key

When using my wireless keyboard, it requires me to press controls to use the function keys (F3, F5, F70.) However, this makes it so some of my games controls won' work,(For example, in Minecraft I can't access the debug menu.) Is there any way to disable this.Thank you for your support

Please take these steps if you're prompted for a password when moving items in your home folder to the Trash.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/.Trash
    2. Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Show Info in Finder (or just Show Info)
from the contextual menu.* An Info dialog should open.
    3. The dialog should show "You can read and write" in the Sharing & Permissions section. If that's not what it shows, click the padlock icon in the lower right corner of the window and enter your password when prompted. Use the plus- and minus-sign buttons to give yourself Read & Write access and "everyone" No Access. Delete any other entries in the access list.
    4. In the General section, uncheck the box marked Locked if it's checked.
    5. From the action menu (gear icon) at the bottom of the dialog, select Apply to enclosed items and confirm.
    6. Close the Info window and test.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Open a TextEdit window and paste into it (command-V). Select the line you just pasted and continue as above.

  • When reviewing photos in Bridge by pressing the spacebar how do I get higher resolution photos

In Bridge when I enlarge a photo by pressing the spacebar I have got to go to 100% to get a sharper picture, is there anything I can do to get a better resolution photo without having to go to 100%

You might try setting monitor size previews (Edit > Preferences > Advanced, and you'll need to purge cache for the folders where you want to to try monitor size previews).  But this still produces soft previews for some users.  See the thread in this forum "Why do my images look soft in Bridge?"  http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1056763 -- particularly  the last 10 or so posts in that thread.

  • TS2289 I don't what's going on but everytime i press my spacebar to see my movie it doesn't work at all!!! What can i do?

Can someone helpe me with this??? Everytime i press my spacebar to see how my movie is going it doesn't work at all!!!!!!!!

Did it run OK under a new User-Account ?
If so - then the need to clean out iMovie to re-install will not help at all but just be complicated.
If it did run OK - Then
    • Delete iMovie pref. file
    iMovie pref. file resides.
    Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences
not the Library at root level = first window when opening Your Macintosh HD (Mac OS) Start-Up HD
and is named. (one or more of these)
    com.apple.iMovie.plist
    com.apple.iMovie3.plist
    com.apple.iMovie7.plist
    com.apple.iMovie8.plist
    com.apple.iMovie9.plist
    com.apple.iMovieApp.plist
    and find
    com.apple.iApps.plist
While iMovie is NOT RUNNING - move this/these file/s out on to desk-top.
    Now restart iMovie.
If You run Mac OS X.7 or more - then the Library in the User-account folder is invisibly and need to be set to be viewable. IT IS NOT in the Library on Root level (when opening MacintoshHD - first window = root level)
( It can be done like this: Open Terminal, then enter: chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press return, then restart, and it will always be visible until the next major update, when you do the same thing again. )
To find all parts of iMovie to trash to make a Clean Install - is not easy and there will be others that can guide You trough this process. - I never needed to do that - and I used iMovie since iMovie (1) > 10 Years

  • My MacBook Pro keeps on randomly scrolling on webpages, putting several spaces when I don't press the spacebar and only sometimes makes a space when I press the spacebar. Why is it doing this? Do I have a virus?

I am currently struggling to write this due to my very erratic spacebar. When I press it, it only creates a space about two thirds of the time. When I don't press it, it creates spaces, often several, in the middle of words.  This is incredibly annoying and time consuming when writing. If I'm on iTunes or DVD player, it means the media is constantly stopping and starting.
When I am on webpages they will often scroll straight to the bottom, and when I try to scroll back up it won't allow me to and the screen will look like it's jumping, like my instruction for it to scroll up is fighting against an external instruction forcing it down. This 'fighting' effect is also seen with the spacebar issue when it makes several spaces and I press backspace to try and delete the spaces.
I have a MacBook Pro bought in July 2012 using Mac OS X 10.7.5. I use ESET Cybersecurity, which hasn't identified any viruses. I have deleted all internet downloads that aren't from well-known websites, yet the problem persists. It has been happening on and off for about a week, during which time I have turned the computer on and off many times, though today it has been far worse than before. I am worried I have a virus, though can't seem to locate one.
Please, if you can shed any light on the situation, please do! I'm not a techy person at all, so there may be a very obvious reason and solution for this, in which case I apologise for this waste of time. Still, any help would be very very appreciated, thank you!

  • Opening Contextual Menu without pressing Control

Is it possible to access the Contextual Menu while clicking on a link in a page while using Safari without having to press any other keys like Control? It is akin to right clicking in Windows. This was an issue when using Firefox, but with a simple tweak to the config page, I can click and hold the mouse on a link and it will open the contextual window, allowing me to select "open in new tab". I know I can do this by pressing another key in Safari, but is there a way around this? It just makes surfing a little easier and more streamlined.

Using OS 6 with a one-button mouse, holding down the button produced a contextual menu. Recently, I bought a M$ mouse that has a scroll wheel as well as a magnification button. It's an Optical Mouse 3000. Since the scroll wheel works for vertical AND horizontal movement, it reduces the effort in surfing. Another advantage is opening links in some browser windows (e.g., VersionTracker) in tabs without actually making each link the active link.
As far as this mouse working in one browser but not another, I believe I have the same features in Safari and Firefox.
