Press spacebar to use this control?

I've got a flash SWF inserted into a page, and when I view it
on the web,
the flash plays, but its surrounded by a border and a message
saying to
press spacebar or enter to use this control. Why is it doing
that, and how
do I get rid of that message?

please search forum - just scan down the ist of subjects -
been discussed for weeks - and lately
everyday and even several time perday and today several
threads on this within the past couple hours.

  • Press SPACEBAR or ENTER to activate and usee this control

    Hi,
Just started using Flash 8 and i seem to be getting a border
with the following message around any Flash content i use in the
site, message: 'Press SPACEBAR or ENTER to activate and use this
    control'
I never had this with MX2004, any ideas anyone, pretty
annoying on an entire flash site.
    Appreciate any help offered,
    Pat

just search the forums - been the "hot topic" for a few weeks
    - lengthy discussions been going on
everyday as we are all dealing with this (microsoft/Eolas
patent issue). Try searching google for
"active content" - tons of information in the form of
    announcements, blogs, articles, etc...all over
    the web.
As a developer there are various methods using js to activate
content automatically - if you are
just a web surfer you cant do anything.
    hope this helps.

  • Dreamweaver Site Publish_CLICK TO ACTIVATE AND USE THIS CONTROL ERROR WHEN PUBLISHING

Hi all, recently after publishing and testing my site I
noticed where my flash files are located boxes around the files
with a "CLICK TO ACTIVIATE AND USE THIS CONTROL" pop up thing
occur, when I hover over the flash parts. Can you please tell me
why this occurs and how to remove it? It works fine on safari but
using internet explorer, there seems to be a problem.
    hope u can help

It's IE-only behaviour as a result of changes Microsoft made
    earlier this
year to their browser, regarding how Active Content (Flash,
    Quicktime etc)
is handled, after losing a high profile court case.

Is really that complicated to get a fix on that message.

  • HTML View - Click to activate and use this control

Hi, I have an HTML View in my VC App.  When the HTML View is presented it has to be clicked on. There is also a tool tip that states "Click to activate and use this control".   I didn't see any mention of this in the forums.
Is there any way to get rid of this?
    Thanks,
    Ken Murray

    Hi Kenneth,
maybe you had this issue not before and then you have patched your windows system. This issue comes with a microsoft patch last year I think it was october or november.
Here on SDN is a how-to available which explains how you can remove this patch, but I think it's not recommend to remove security patches.
    Best Regards,
    Marcel

Click to Activate and Use this Control... WOW... my
    upgrade to
Studio 8 has been rendered anemic by the requirements of
    "more security" by
Microsoft and others. Now Flash has an error message and you
    have to click
    the
little sucker to get it to work. Someone dropped the ball BIG
    TIME on this
one. Surely there is a fix for this for a non-programmer such

  • How to prevent people asking how to prevent "click to activate and use this control"

When I visit the fourms, I keep seeing these questions about
    how to disable
"click to activate and use this control". Its really annoying
    and
disrupting my web experience. I do know this really this is a
    blatant
attack on Adobe and Flash by Microsoft and is obviously
    related to the Adobe
takeover of Macromedia, and probably also related to the fact
    that it is now
impossible for anyone to install Flash Player (which Adobe is
    ignoring
because their support is so useless since the takeover). Is
    there something
I can do to prevent these questions being posted? I've
    searched all the
forums and cannot find any information. Surely someone else
    has had this
    problem.

  • "Click to activate and use this control" in IE

When using Flash forms, IE 7 surrounds them with a box and
prompts users to "click ot activate and use this control." Is this
the old Flash problem with using object or embed tags without
javascript to embed movies? Is there a way to fix how ColdFusion
embeds Flash forms so people don't have to click on them before
they can use them? Maybe it's fixed in CF 8?
    I found the answer here:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=22&threadid=1141999&STA RTPAGE=2&FTVAR_FORUMVIEWTMP=Linear.
Not sure why this comes up in Google but I couldn't find it through
the Adobe site, this forum system really sucks i.e. slow searches
to the point of being useless.

What version of CF are you using? This was fixed with the CF
    MX 7.02 patch

  • Hoe do i avoid "click to activate and use this control" message?

how avoid th problem of getting the message below...when
there is a flash movie in my HTML file?
"click to activate and use this control"

Oh god .. here we go again .. Obviously someone has been
    living under a rock
or on a deserted island for a few months :)
This is due to Microsoft IE changes required to avoid
    infringing the
(stupid) EOLAS patent. It applies to all Active-X control
    that can interact
    with the user.
If you are viewing a web site, you cannot really do anything
    to fix it,
except complain to the web master
Here is a link to find information on how to fix your website

  • HTM says: "Click to activate and use this Control"?

When I open my published Captivate movie in Internet Explorer
(clicking on the htm file), my cursor becomes the shape of a hand,
and there is small a mouseover that says "Click to activate and use
this Control". I am using Flash 9. I must click 1x to activiate
something, then my Captivate buttons work just fine.
What is the control I'm activating? Can I turn off this
prompt in Security settings? This will drive end users bonkers.
I don't get this issue in Firefox.

    Hi pcorad
This has been an issue since Microsoft was forced to alter
the way Internet Explorer handles content such as Flash. To work
past it, you can use JavaScript. (This is the reason for the
existence of the additional standard.js file we see in Captivate 2)
You might wish to search the forums for the phrase "click to
activate" and you should find many results that explain things in
    more detail.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Press "spacebar....."

Working on a flash template, when I pull it up in the
browser, it says on the top "press spacebar or enter to activate
and use this control". I would like the page to be ready when
someone calls up the url, without hitting the enter or spacebar
key. Is this a setting in the movie or my browser? Is it something
I can change? Thanks for all the assistance, I would have been
sucidal by now without this board. Thanks.

  • How to use Tree control like a Tree in SAP HANA Live Browser?

    Hello SDN!
I need a Tree control such as following:
As I understand, there is no such standard control in SAPUI5 control library. Is it possible to use this control? If yes, how I can embed it in my app?
    Regards,
    Lev

    Hi Sandip!
Thanks for your tip. I've applied this example to my app. Tree is working now, but this is a little problem - on each expand/collapse and click on treeItem the onAfterRendering() method called. It means that the complete rerender of tree executed which looks not good. How I can avoid this?

  • Using a control implimentaion file in BEA page flows?

I'm using BEA Weblogic 9.2 and I've created a custom JDBC control to use in my project with page flows.
    My control has 4 files:
1.) myModel.java: contains the class that represents the table.
2.) myControl.java: the interface for the control.
3.) myControlDB.java: public interface that extends jdbcControl and contains the basic operations for the database. No actual methods, just sql commands in the annotations.
4.) myControlImpl.java: Contains the business logic for the control and has the @ControlImplimentation annotation.
However, I'm not sure what purpose the "control implimentation" file servers. I can't use it in the page flows, and I can't add it to the "referenced controls" list.
How do I use this control implementation in my page flows?

    Hi,
Does your custom control appear in the insert -> control -> existing control option ?
Can you also verify that the corresponding method is created in the custom control interface
In the source view, place the cursor on the custom control method, and enter Ctrl + 1, select the create in super type option. This should create the corresponding method in the interface.
I've also listed the link to our documentation which explains in detail about using database controls
    http://e-docs.bea.com/workshop/docs92/ws_platform/controls/system/jdbc/navDatabaseControl.html
