Pressing tab in a bulleted list

Whenever I press tab within a line inside a bulleted list it moves the entire line, not just the section that I want to move over. Is this behaviour normal? Is there a way to change this behaviour?

If you could describe what you want to achieve maybe we can figure out how to do it in Pages.

Tabbing Within a Bulleted List

Every school day I create a simple Keynote presentation for my students with the day's schedule. Along the left side of the slide is a bulleted list with the time slots of the day. The column on the right lists the activity we'll do during that time slot. My problem is that when I type in the times and then want to type in the corresponding activity, pressing the tab key simply indents the bullet item rather than move the cursor across the screen. Any suggestions on how to move the cursor across the screen with a keystroke within a bulleted list? Currently I copy and paste a blank spacer to create a slide similar to what is below.

just figured it out myself -option tab! good grief, why did they do that? the outline levels should be set by the inspector bullets tab arrows, and they should let a tab be a tab -does someone know a preference switch or something that will fix?

How do I format bullet lists in the Notes tab?

I have a transcript of the audio narration in the Notes section of my source PowerPoint slides. When I publish with Adobe Presenter, these transcripts appear in the Notes tab in the published course. However, when I publish my course, any bullet lists that I may have formatted in the Notes view in PowerPoint, do not format correctly in the published course. The text of the bullets is there, but the bullet formatting is missing.
I am using Adobe Presenter 8, PowerPoint 2007, and I'm running on Windows 7 Professional. I have tried saving my PowerPoint file in the PPTX format and in the older PPT format. Neither retains the bullet-list formatting in the published course.
Is there a trick to getting lists to format correctly in the Notes tab?

I want to my form exactly as Sales order, so when I press Tab in item No (on sales order) column it will show list of item
So I want to create my own form with matrix, and in the first column I want to set Tab event, so when I press Tab in that column it will shown list of something from database.
how to get an event Tab in column matrix ??
and what object in the list of item form (on sales order) ?? matrix or grid or something else ??

Linking a ChooseFromList to the matrix column should give you what you want. Samples of using the ChooseFromList can be found in the SDK HelpCenter and here in the SDN forum. For example:

Copying sub-bulleted list _and_ keeping the master format

Super basic question: how to make sub-bulleted lists formatted nicely?
It's a follow up of the above topic. When I copy paste a full slide, it loses the property that sub-lists (pressing tab) come with smaller bullets. I can of course re-apply master, but then all my changes to the text (e.g. colored or bolded text) goes back do the default font. This is really annoying, it means that I cannot copy-paste slides from one presentation to another

I have no problem with drag and drop on any of our systems.
Your installation is faulty, try Resetting Keynote perform all the steps in the correct order
remove Keynote version 6.5, you must use an application removal tool for this procedure to work: Appcleaner is free, I use Appzapper
empty the trash
Shut Down the Mac (Apple menu > Shut Down)
wait 10 seconds, then press the power button
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold down the Shift key, release the Shift key when you see the grey Apple screen
start up will take a few minutes longer than usual as the Mac is performing a repair routine
restart the Mac normally, (don’t hold down any keys during startup)
install Keynote from the Mac App Store

Numbered bullet list-default values

I have been using Text Expander to insert templates into Pages documents. One of these templates creates a simple numbered bullet list, with only the number one, followed by a period.
When I add text to this bullet list and press enter or return, I get each new number in sequence. However, there is a preset “Text Indent” under the “List” tab, and a preset “Left Tab” under the “Tabs” tab.
The Text Expander macro is saving the text in rich text format.
Is there a way to set default values for the “Number” bullet list in the tab value, such that I do not have these indents and tabs whenever I start a new bullet list?

Bulleted List Alignment Problem when Importing to RH8

I am imported Word 2003 documents into RH8 and my bullets and numbered lists are not aligning correctly. Both are custom styles configured via Outline Numbering and work fine in Word. After importing, each bullet/number has an extra space on the first line so subsequent lines are not aligned. When I reviewed the CSS, the entries for these styles all have a text-indent of -.25, which I am assuming is wrong since the Word ListContinue styles (which display correctly) do not. I pulled the HTML line out of the CSS but everytime I import again, it is reinserted into my custom CSS.
I have attached a screen capture of what it looks like in RH.
I am relatively new to RH, don't know HTML, and no matter where I turn, no one seems able to help. I can get it to work by putting all bulleted and numbered lists into borderless tables bu we have thousands of pages of Word documents we would have to do this to. There has to be a better solution and it is really driving me crazy with frustration. Please, can anyone help me?

That small indent is the least of the your worries!
When you import ordinary numbered lists, you need to tick this field in RH's Other settings. (Accessed when you click the Edit button in the Import screens.)
If you do not, then what is imported looks like a list but it is not. If you import the document you sent me and press Enter at the end of the list, you will not get another bullet. When you do select that option, you do get another bullet. But see what it does with the list.
Your settings in Word are below and I suspect the extra indent could be resolved by playing with the Bullet Position and Text Position settings. Also try changing the space after from Tab to Space. Tabs are not an HTML concept.
After import, I selected the list and then clicked the new RH8 icon, Create a MultiLevel list. It gave me a numbered list as that was the style I just randomly selected. It did seem to tidy things up so I think using that also needs exploring.
It's a bit stale now but there is an article on my site about numbered and bulleted lists when exporting to Word. It precedes the new Multi Level list functionality but you will see that the conclusion was to that things only worked easily when using the bullet and number icons and the indent icon. I suspect the same is applying to this import. In Word could you not just click the Bullet icon and then the Indent icon as required, rather then create all these List styles. I set up my Word lists to work that way and although I don't import much, it does seem to work.
I realise that doesn't give you a nice concise solution but hopefully it will help you experiment and find one.

Solaris 10 and Linux-like console navigation - e.g. pressing TAB,using arro

I'm struggling navigating in the Solaris( 10on x86 ) xterm from CDE(oh and anywhere basically). I'm coming from Linux so I was wondering is this the way this really should be and is there any way to change it(found linux-like motions in the menu though not sure that this is the way or what to look for).
By navigating I mean as in the topic and like in Linux- e.g. pressing TAB to see list of commands, to complete the name of the file I've already started writing, using the arrows to see most recent executed commands etc.
It's just that sometimes I make a mistake and it's buggering me to re-write command again or copy/paste.

Looks like you need to set (in /etc/passwd) your default shell to bash in order to have Linux-like navigation you've described or run 'bash' as first command in new terminal.

Itunes launches when I press Tab Key

Anyone got any ideas on this one? Whenever I use the Tab key in MS Word it launches iTunes. If I’m trying to create tables or list items in Word it becomes a nightmare and takes forever.
Even if I’m online filling in a form and press Tab to enter the next box, it launches iTunes

(Bug?) How to unindent an indented bulleted list

I have been trying to transition to Keynote 6.2 from version 5 and have found some "glitches" with the new interface, but one thing is particularly irritating:
If I create a bulleted list, and indent some items in the list, then hit return after the last item to add a new bullet, there doesn't appear to be a way to unindent the bullet. The unindent buttton doesn't work (it is greyed out) and neither does OPT-TAB.
Has anyone else run into a problem like this? I am not sure if this is a bug restricted to my custom template I use for work.

How to format bullet lists

So that bullets stand out visually, I prefer bullet lists indented, not flush with the existing paragraphs. Is there a way to modify bullet settings to automatically appear like the following?

On the Text panel, follow this screen shot for settings. You will want an after paragraph setting of 6 or 9 pt before you press return to start your bullets. That will give you a nice vertical standoff. You will want this after paragraph setting for each bullet item so that they too, have some breathing space. Tune the list indent, and text spacing from the bullet to your taste. When you have finished with the list, you may wish to set the after paragraph to 0 to resume normal sentence line space.

Populate LOV when pressing tab in OAF

I have created LOV for a field which is under a Region.
The LOV works when clicking on the Torch and then click GO.
How to make the LOV gets populated after entering a text and press the tab button.
For ex: If i enter +"Sup"+ and press tab then the LOV must list all the values starting with the name Sup.

If i am clearly getting your requirement then this is the default property of LOV. when you enter some value and TAB out it will execute your LOV Query.

Xml import with bullet list like images

Hi!
I have a xml file with data that i would like to import to indesign. ANd that works great.
But i have a minor issue. I have a kind of a bullet list something like this:
my xml looks like this:
<mytext>
1 some text
2 some text
3 some text
<mytext/>
the bullets is pictures (or perhaps numberd bullets if its possible to style them in my XML)
is there any solution to make this possible?

I have tried to use CDATA in my xml file and included the path for my images, but the result is that "<image src..." is written as text not as a image..
PLS help me, before i go nuts!

Your XML is going to need to be formatted something like this:
<image href="file:///../images/bullet.png"></image>
<BulletText>Some text here...</BulletText>
In order to get the images in. The above has the images in a sub-folder of the ID document. There is also a tab between the close image tag and the BulletText tag (which is why I included the screen shot.

Tabbing into a Scroll List

hi,
I am wondering if it is possible to be able to tab into a scroll list?
Say, I use a JPanel (with GridBagLayout) containing a JScrollPane
in which a JList is added, and also a few JButtons exist in this JPanel.
What I want to is that:
(1) whenever pressing TAB key, the correct tabbing order for this wizard should be: button1, button2, ..., buttonX, scroll list, and then again button1, ...
(2) whenever pressing Shift + TAB keys, the correct tabbing order for this wizard should be the reversed order, i.e. scroll list, buttonX, ..., button2, button1, and then again scroll list,
buttonX, ...
The problem is that I could not tab into this scroll list but only buttons now. Anybody know how to solve such a problem? Any sample codes are appreciated if possible.

The bullet list, numbered list and the normal text is not converting when I am converting from RH 9 to MS Word 2010

Greetings for the day
I am created a new CSS in Robohelp 9. I have also created a new template in Word 2010. The style sets for different information elements like (Heading, bullets, body text, ) are more or less same between the CSS and the new templates. I am also able to map the .css styles to Word template when I am converting from RH to Word as I am getting the necessary option in the drop-down list.
However, when the output is generated, the bullet, the numbered list and the body text is not converting at all. The body text works sometimes. However, the numbered list and bullet list is coming out as images.
If anybody knows the solution, I can share the .css and Word template.

Create a new project with two or three topics containing lists of both types. Generate a printed output that shows the problem. Then zip it up and send it to me. See the Contact page on my site for instructions.
