Pressure Sensitivity problems.

Hello, I have owned my hp tablet for over two years now and love it, however, about a year ago the pressure sensitivity for my tablet stopped working completly. It doesn't work in any programs at all, I have reinstalled the drivers multipule times and had several people look at it for me. No one seems to be able to fix it. My touchscreen works just fine and I don't have any other major problems with it. If anyone at all has any idea of how to fix this please let me know. I never needed the pressure sensitivity before, but now that my art skills are well enough that i have need of it, I can't do anything that requires it. This is really frusturating me.
Stats -
hp pavilion tx2500
model - tx2525nr
was purchased with vista, now uses win 7.

So I installed a wacom intuos pro driver andIi went into Illustrator to see if that fixed the problem.
The pressure option was greyed out in the calligraphic brush and I was unable to select it.
I then uninstalled the driver for my Ugee m708 tablet. Same problem.
I also tried installing the wacom bamboo driver.  Same problem.

  • Problems with pressure sensitivity CS3

Hiya! As my title says, I'm having problems with pressure sensitivity in CS3. I use an HP Pavilion tx2000 (or, more specifically, tx2115nr) hybrid tablet-PC. I used the help feature to see if my brush settings were set correctly...but it seems that CS3 just isn't registering that I'm using a tablet at all (it shows a little yellow caution triangle warning that I need a tablet for the pressure-sensitive settings; I'm not sure if it's supposed to do that or not). I used a (sorely outdated) version of Photoshop that worked just fine with my tablet-PC, and I find it rather discouraging that CS3 isn't working...can anyone help me solve this problem?
If I'm missing any necessary information needed to help solve this problem, just lemme know and I'll post it ASAP.

I have an nvidia chipset with an nforce motherboard...I don't know how to check who made my screen, though.
The only way I know how to check if my drivers are updated is through Windows Updates...the only update I have that's not language packs is an update for Wacom (it says "Wacom - Input - Wacom USB Touch"), not really sure why though since I don't have a Wacom tablet, just my PC...anyway, I'm going to update and see if that solves my problem.

  • Wacom tablet pressure sensitivity, dont work outside canvas

    Hi.
I wonder, if i'm the only one, who are having problems to start a stroke outside the canvas and follow it on the canvas, without the pressure sensitivity is all on max.
seems the same is happing, if you have marked an area and start at stroke outside that area. kinda like the brush only start recognize the pressure level when on the canvas or marking.
    does it make sense?
    running windows7 64bit intous3 A4.
tested in on my my laptop too on the intous3 A5, same problem.

    Hi JJMack
    thx for your comment
    - i'm on photoshop cs5, any brush thats pressure sensitivity, did it with both docked and floating canvas.
I think i've fixed the issue.
Apprently its a problem with the newest version of the wacom driver. And somehow it only affects photoshop.
i've downloaded the march 2010 driver from wacom. And installed that. seems to be fixed.

  • How do I get pen pressure sensitivity in Photoshop CS5?

    Hi
There is no sensitivity to pressure in my Photoshop CS5. I have installed the driver for my tablet (Intuos 4), but it still doesn't work. I have also clicked the icons for both pressure and opacity in the bar at the top, but they made no difference.
I see a triangle with an exclamation point in the brushes menu by the control options. It says "Control by pen pressure requires the use of a pressure sensitive tablet," so I take this to mean that my tablet isn't supporting sensitivity.
The tablet works just fine, but the sensitivity won't. What should I do?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I figured it out! Pen Pressure is working just fine now. Here are the steps I used to fix my problem. Thanks for your help, Noel!
    Windows 7/Vista Pro Driver
-Disconnect the tablet from the computer
-Open your start menu and then the Control Panel
    -Open programs and features
-Uninstall any listing here for Tablet or Wacom Tablet and then restart the computer
-After restarting, download and install only the latest driver (6.16) from wacom website
-Once the installation is complete, and the system is stable, connect the tablet.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 and Yiynova MSP19U sensitivity problems.

Photoshop CC 2014 is not working with pressure sensitivity for Yiynova MSP19U Tablet Monitor. Am I missing something? Anyone know how to resolve this? I have selected to detect pressure sensitivity in my brush tool but it does nothing. I have tried closing and restarting the program. Nothing. Help?

Thank you. Photoshop 2014 is running well on the Yiynova.
My new issue is Flash.  I went back to Flash CC (2013), and currently running Windows 8.1. Something is terribly wrong with the brush tool in Flash.  I can't get a consistent curved line, and sometimes Flash doesn't respond to my pen strokes at all.  Every time I start a line, the curve will come out as a straight line. Only incredibly slow bunch strokes prevents the straight line from happening, which isn't conducive to fluid drawing,  Whether or not I change the automatic smoothing or turn off the pressure sensitivity, the problem remains.
I used to run Flash CC (2013) on a mac, and I had none of these issues.  Is this a Windows problem, driver problem, or do I need to re-install the software again?  I'm hoping there will be a simple solution for this.

  • Can i adjust pressure sensitivity options for tools other then paint brush?

Greetings all, i'm new to Photoshop elements and this forum, could someone help me with this problem please!!!!!!
Is there a way to adjust the pressure sensitve options opacity, scatter, hue jitter e.t.c for tools other then the paint brush such as the dodge and burn tool?
I'm wanting to use the dodge and burn tools with say a chalk brush but set the pressure sensitivity of my tablet to opacity, i can do this for the paint brush by using the tablet options drop down menu but the option doesn't seem to be avaiable for  tools such as the eraser, dodge and burn and smudge tools.
I've tryed the brushes from the Pressure Sensitive set but there is no chalk brush in the Pressure Sensitive brush set that effects opacity and you can't adjust what settings are effected for each pressure sensitive brush when using tools other then the Paint Brush.
Can anyone help me with this as i've tryed everything i can think of.

I guess the easiest way would be to select the paint brush tool
and using the brush of your choice, set those options you want
    and save the brush.
Then when you select a tool such as the burn tool, select your brush.
The one option that won't apply is the hue jitter (you can't use hue jitter or
color dynamics in the full version of photoshop either for most other tools
    aside from the brush tool)

  • Stroke thumbnail view in brush presets panel in CS5 doesn't represent pressure sensitivity

    Greeting.
Have just installed the CS5 package. Unlike it was in PS CS2, that I loved very much, I can't see whether the brushes are pressure sensitive or not in the brush presets panel of the new PS CS5 version. See the image please.
    Any option that I overlooked?
It's a PS CS5 64 Bit version at XP64. NVidia drivers are fresh. Enough memory and processing power.
    Thank you for your responses.

Thanks Noel. That thread was a big help. I used the last person's suggestion and so far it has corrected the problem:
"We are running the latest driver  (6.1.6-7) and can confirm the fix you are mentioning - rolling back to  the earlier driver (6.1.5-3) fixes the issue.  However, along the way we  also found a more interesting solution - loading a set of preferences  from an older driver seems to also resolve the issue!
We  used the Wacom file utility to clear our preferences on a machine  running the older driver (6.1.5-3), then saved out our default set of  preferences.
On another station, after confirming an  account had the issue on the latest driver (6.1.6-7), we proceeded to  load the preferences we'd saved out of the older driver.  Presto!  The  problem vanished.  We can replicate this by bringing back the issue if  we go back to the default prefs in 6.1.6-7.
Thought i'd share in case this is helpful for any of you.
For  us, it's a much easier fix than having to redo wacom drivers (and  perhaps have other issues!) across multiple academic comptuer  laboratories mid-semester.

  • Change pressure sensitivity of the stylus?

So my stylus sucks. I can be holding my stylus off of the screen about 3 cm from the screen and it will write on the screen. This makes actually writing on the screen nearly impossible as my handwriting is completely illegible from this issue. I have replaced my stylus multiple times and that never fixed it. Then a few weeks ago I was messing with the settings and found that I was able to adjust the pressure that it took to make the pen write. And my problem was fixed. I noticed the other day that the stylus had reverted to the old ways and so I went in search of the settings for the pen, and I can no longer find the settings menu where I was able to change the pressure sensitivity. This menu had a picture of the pen and also gave you eraser options (even though the stylus doesn't have an eraser) and calibration options. I have searched high and low for this menu and I have taken it to the lenovo people (my school has a special relationship with lenovo so we have like a mini computer fix it place in the school where we take the computers when we have issues which unfortuantely happens a lot) and they have not been able to find the menu again either. Does anyone happen to know how to adjust this setting or know a driver I can download or some way I can make my pen usable again?
I have the Lenovo Helix. I am completely up to date on software and this problem has been occuring since when I had windows 8. Currently running 8.1.

Good day and welcome to the community.
    Sorry you're having difficiulties.
It would be helpful to know which X series tablet laptop you're using, along with which OS. That may well help fellow community members assist you.

  • "pen pressure requires the use of a pressure sensitive tablet" in WINDOWS 8.1

    old problem but different system
"control by pen pressure requires the use of a pressure sensitive tablet"
I have a problem with it. There is problem when i using my Intuos pro or Cintiq 22 and my version of photoshop is CC.
Can somebody help me with this? hope for some simple solution ; )

If I recall correctly I solved this problem by things I found on the internet. However this is for Windows 7 and it has been a long time ago...
Don't know if it is still appropriate but here goes:
    Windows Prof:
Run “gpedit.msc” (click start, in the box closest to the button type “gpedit.msc” without quotes)
Click User Configuration, then drop down Administrative Templates, then drop down Windows Components, then drop down Tablet PC. Finally click “Cursors”
Now double-click Turn off pen feedback. Click the radio button “enable” and click ok.
    Windows Home:
    circle1
    Press the windows key
type "pen and touch" and press enter
In the window that appears, left-click the entry "Press and hold" and click "settings".
Uncheck "Enable press and hold for right-clicking".
Click OK on both windows to close them
    circle2
    Press the windows key
type "computer management" and press enter
In the window that opens, Double click "Services and Applications" in the centre column
Double click "Services" in the centre column
Scroll down and double click "Tablet PC Input Service"
Find the "Startup type:" dropdown box and change it to "Disabled".
Click OK, then close the Computer Management window
    Restart your PC
After your PC loads up again, one of two things should happen: either your tablet works happily and circle-free, or it doesn't work at all. If it doesn't work at all, you now need to download and install the proper driver for it (to replace the Microsoft one that you just disabled). If you use a wacom, you can find the driver for your tablet here.

  • Illustrator CC issue with pressure sensitivity and blob brush.

Hello I ran into this issue yesterday and can't seem to find a way to fix it.
When using the blob brush, pressure sensitivity with my wacom intuos 5 works as expected. However if I switch to the regular brush tool and draw with that tool then switch back to the blob brush tool, pressure sensitivity stops working until I open the Blob brush's preferences and change any setting then click OK.
    My machine:
    Retina Macbook Pro
    Core i7 2.3 Ghz
    16GB RAM
    Nvidia 650M 1GB
    OSX 10.9.2
    Illustrator 17.1.0
    Already tried:
    - Deleting Illustrator's preferences
    - Reinstalling Wacom Drivers
    - Reinstalling Illustrator
Yet the problem persists. Any ideas? Is this a bug?

I was having the same problem. I wanted to use the blob tool and it was set to 2 point from a previous session. Every time I went to use it I got a 5 point round brush with no pressure sensitivity. It drove me crazy for awhile until I finally tried setting the blob brush to something different. After that it was fine, and I could switch back to 2 point and it began to work as expected. It seems like there's a small hiccup somewhere.

  • Pressure Sensitivity lost since update 12.0.3

Just had the update to CS5 today and since then my Intuos3 isn't recognized anymore by PS. (the yellow triangle with ! saying a tablet is needed for pressure sensitivity ).
    Updated my catalyst drivers
    Reinstalled my wacom drivers
    Works fine in Corel Painter
And I do have a separate setup for PS in my Wacom properties panel.
    Any ideas?

    I solved the problem!
    Here's how I did it:
uninstalled the wacom drivers using ccleaner (latest version)
    reboot
run ccleaner again and remove every registry issue it reported that had wacom in it.
    reboot again
    run WacomTablet_6.1.6-7.exe (= latest driver for Win7 & Intuos3)
run PS CS5 64-bit version without restoring personal wacomprefs.
checked the pressure sensitivity, it works.
    closed PS CS5
start the Wacom Tablet Preference Utility and restore personal wacomprefs
    start PS again
Hope this works for you guys too

  • No wacom tablet pressure sensitivity in LR6

After installing LR6 there is no pen pressure sensitivity with wacom intuos pro tablet (Win 8.1, latest wacom driver)
With LR 5.71 everything was ok.

I have the same problem with a total different Wacom tablet and I am running 10.10.3. I have posted a thread here about it. There are others having the same issue as well: Lightroom 6 bug when using adjustment brush, mask overlay and a Wacom tablet

  • CS4 Brushes Not Pressure Sensitive with OpenGL Drawing Enabled

    Hi,
Four days into my CS4 experience. Not awful, but not good either.
Running on Vista Business 32bit, Phenom 9550 Quad Core, 4GB RAM, Nvidia 7600 GT.
I just tried my WACOM tablet and the brushes were very slow, missing the start of some strokes and most importantly no pressure sensitivity. I did
a little searching and someone suggested switching off OpenGL and this has
    fixed my problem.
Does anyone else have a similar experience ?
Also, is my 7600 GT card not powerful enough ? When I moved to CS2 from 7,
I had to upgrade my graphics card - which was running just fine with 7.
    Thanks in advance,
    Shahzad

    Hi,
    Thanks for the tip.
As it happens, I also updated both my Wacom and Nvidia drivers
and when I switched OpenGL back on, things were fine. The pressure
sensitivity was back and the lag was gone.
I'll also try playing around with the settings as you suggest.

  • Pressure sensitivity uneven on different areas of the screen

Just upgraded my x230t to win8. After much trial and error I finally got the pen to have very little pressure sensitivity by increasing the hardness of the pen tip to full in the pen settings (control panel). But I am not sure if this is pressure sensitivity. The problem now is that I get thin light lines in the middle of the screen but hard dark lines after the middle region of the screen when drawing with the same pressure. And its the same regions even if i move the canvas. I have attatched a screen shot too. Could it be my screen or my digitizer? I am confused...... please help.
The lines on the attached pic is drawn with equal pressure.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The conditions of the experiment are not evidence. It is impossible to draw freehand lines with equal pressure on the entire surface of the canvas. You may have to retry using a ruler, in tablet mode, the side of your hand (don’t forget to put on a thin glove) sliding onto the screen.
Example with my X220t in ArtRage Studio. I used the ruler stencil. (Highly compressed jpeg image):

  • Pressure sensitivity fail in Photoshop, perfect in Illustrator

So what's up with this? I get the little orange triangle of shame telling me that I'm a dummy and should be using a pressure sensitive tablet in Photoshop, but it works perfectly in Illustrator with no problems at all. Both are CS4. Tablet is Wacom and even the cheap non-adobe programs can sense the pressure. I just downloaded and reinstalled the driver and restarted the computer. No change at all.

I finally FINALLY fixed this. Besides downloading and installing the latest driver, I found some other advice that said to use the pen while clicking the yellow triangle. I tapped the pen up and down on the tablet while clicking the mouse on the triangle. Victory.
