Pretty much confirmed interactivity between Word/Acrobat Mac vs. Same on PC is completely hosed in certain situations...Please tell me I am wrong!

I've pretty much confirmed that the interactivity between Word/Acrobat Mac vs. Word/Acrobat PC is completely hosed in certain situations...Please tell me I am wrong!
Situation: two workgroups need to work with each other sharing and editing word and pdf files for complex documents containing a TOC, list of figures, etc.
Problems reproducible on many machine types and configs:
1. WORD FILES: TOCs do not retain hot links within a doc that has been touched by a mac, and then re-saved as a PDF with the intent to have a linked TOC with chapter heads.
2. PDF FILES: that have been touched by a mac, for example to edit the document properties, will loose all TOC function as in problem #1 above.
In short, this rots for mac users who have to share/edit these files with PC brethren.
The only solution that I found for mac users is this:
Do your thing in Word 2008. Then have a PC version of Word and PC version of acrobat installed on a virtual drive like Parallels or VMWare, etc. Delete your TOC using MS Word for Windows, reinsert a new one, and then use the PC distiller installed into word by Acrobat Professional to create a new PDF that will be cross-platform functional.
I had a meeting with the Mac users to explain this work around and they looked at me like I was crazy, and they pretty much said go pound sand, we don't care if the TOCs are linked or not.
Well, I may be exaggerating there a bit, but NO ONE was happy with this solution, including myself. Our BIG question is "Is anyone going to fix this problem in the shortterm?!?" And it's Microsoft and Adobe both that seem to have some responsibility here...with an emphasis on Adobe, as it's clearly not just an MS isssue, as you can totally destroy a working TOC in a PDF file by just editing the file properties on a mac. Arg...
I also find it frustrating that Adobe does not have a forum for cross-platform specific issues, which to me seems consipiritory. Ha!

  • Font problems between Word and MAC

    I used MS Word on Windows PC and created lot of documents using TSCu Inaimathi tamil font. When I open those files in my MAC, its all weird characters. How do i fix this? Also, when I create new files in MAC, using the same font, I can read it in Windows.
    Can someone help?
    Thanks
    dheepa
    Macbook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    When I
    open those files in my MAC, its all weird characters.
    There could be two issues:
    If the text is Unicode, then MS Word for Mac can't handle it (MS Mac products can't do any Unicode Indic script yet). Try opening the doc with TextEdit instead.
    If the text is not Unicode, but TSCII encoding, then you must install the exact font that produced it on your Mac. OS X only includes Unicode fonts, not old legacy encodings.
    All Tamil produced on OS X with the Inamathi font that comes with it will be Unicode and should be readable in Word 2004 OK.

  • Farcical interactions between reader & acrobat for wet signatures

    Apologies for the flamebait style subject, but im incredibly frustrated with adobe's products.
    I have a PDF which requires a signature, it is a secure PDF, but permissions allow for signatures (in this case opting for 'wet' from an image).
    If I open the PDF in reader, it will let me paste in the signatures and add the dates.  Looks good.  However the only way to 'save' is to use EchoSign.  Attempted to use that and it is horribly broken.  Maybe the PDF itself is incorrectly configured, but when using EchoSign, the signature is added to the very bottom of the document in none of the editable fields.
    The other option to save is to use Acrobat.
    I've downloaded the latest acrobat (11.0, Win7, x64 - trial) - open the PDF - and the sidebar for sign actions is greyed out.
    This is what's annoying - I open this file in Reader - that sidebar is active, allows me to paste in the signatures, but does not allow me to save.  To save it tells me to get Acrobat.
    I get Acrobat, and for the same file it does not allow me to enter the signatures.
    I appreciate there may be some issue in how the PDF fields were created, however what i've descibed above is a horrible user experience, and unfairly or not, reinforces my low opinion of adobe's PDF suite of products.  How you can have one tool disable a feature, point to another tool, and that other tool not offer the described functionality is infuriating.
    At this stage i'm unclear what the resolution is.  It most likely is to print & scan, something EchoSIgn should do and fails at in this case.  Going the PDF modification route has been a failure.  I have no control over the original PDF, so I cannot modify & regenerate that.
    If there are any resolution steps would be interested in exploring.  I could alternatively file a bug report.

    you cannot use EchoSign signature in a protected PDF. (Version 10 has a bug letting you add signatures and text, but they'll clear as soon as you send via Echosign, version 11 has the correct behaviour in graying out the EchoSign options for protected PDFs)
    In short EchoSign signatures involves changing the document which the protection does not allow for.
    You can still sign using a digital certificate assuming there is a signature field on the PDF.
    You can still try signing using Echosign but you need to go via the echosign website. (I'm assuming this is a regular PDF you have and not a dynamic XFA form)

    Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
    Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
    Quit Safari
    Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
    Relaunch Safari
    If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
    This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one.

  • Swapping between windows in Word for Mac 2011?

    I've just installed Word for Mac 2011 on my new Mac Mini, and somehow the Command+` keyboard shortcut for switching between open Word windows is not working anymore. I've tried to find the answer online, but everyone states to use Command+`, which is exactly what's not working anymore for me. Anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks!

    Hi there,
    Thanks for the response. I guess my request wasn't clear: what I was trying to indicate is that the very thing you are suggesting is not working. One important note though is: you mention Command + Tilde, which would mean the key sequence would have to be Command/Shift/Tilde-key, and it appears that the support page you linked indicates that also. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to work either in my Word app (it does work with other apps, so either Command + ` (accent grave) and Command + Shift + ~ works to switch between windows.  On all of the Macs that I have owned so far, the keyboard shortcut to switch between windows in the open app is Command + ` (accent grave, i.e. same key as the tilde, but used without Shift). This currently works just fine between windows of any app (Chrome, Safari, Finder), but not with Word. It's driving me nuts! Any other suggestions of what may be causing this (and how to fix it?).
    Many thanks!
    Elena

  • IDCS5/MAC - GREP Style to uppercase a letter after a dash between words

    G'day there.
    I'm trying to create a GREP style to uppercase a letter after a dash between words, more specifically where one word starts with a capital and the one after a dash does not e.g. Lorem-ipsum = Lorem-Ipsum
    The full story is that there is a standing indesign file used over and over again which data-merges surnames which are in a massive database. The data arrives in uppercase and our mail barcoding software allows us to Title Case certain fields, but the Title Case behaviour has the following results:
    * McLeod = Mcleod
    * D'Agostino = D'agostino
    * Smith-Bunting = Smith-bunting
    i've been able to solve the McLeod = Mcleod problem with the following GREP style:
    (?<=Mc)\l
    and then apply a character style which is nothing more than All Caps.
    similarly, i've been able to solve the D'Agostino = D'agostino problem:
    (?<=\u')\l
    and once again apply the All Caps style to the affected letter. This also solves the O'leary problem to O'Leary.
    However, when I try these GREPs to grab the Smith-bunting style issues:
    (?<=\u\l+?-)\l     or   (?<=\u\l{2,}-)\l
    the search won't work, nor will it work with regular Find/Change GREP replace... yet the expression \u\l+?-\l will find the block that i'm after.
    I could use the search
    (?<=\l-)\l
    and this will find Smith-bunting = Smith-Bunting... but will also find co-operate = co-Operate (will find two words joined with a dash but  starts with a lower case letter).
    This is fine if the para style is applied to the  line in the address block containing the client's name, but if the name is referred to in a block of text, then that block of text has to have the para style with the GREP style applied, and any dashes between words in that para behave the same way as the name.
    yes, it is possible to go into excel and use the =PROPER(affected cell) and fix the Smith-Bunting fields, but i'm trying to create a solution which will work solely in InDesign so that other operators in the office (who aren't familiar with excel) can simply open the standing file and dump in the txt database generated by the mail barcoding software.
    there are other names that the mail barcoding's title-case fouls up i.e.
    * MacLeod = Macleod
    * van der Graaf = Van Der Graaf
    * van Diemen = Van Diemen
    but a GREP to make Macleod become MacLeod may foul up Mack, Mackie or Macy to become MacK, MacKie or MacY.
    I also know that a GREP for the van der or van won't work as the style will only force letters to become All Caps, not uppercase to lower...
    Ultimately...
    does anyone know a way to GREP style (not a find/change GREP) a fix for Xxxxx-xxxxx = Xxxxx-Xxxxx?
    Colly
    Colecandoo.

    I agree with Haakenlid on his Dirty-Workaround view -- I feel data should be entered the way it oguht to, not altered by some magic GREP styling -- but then again I can also sympathize with your POV re: a fire-and-forget solution even your dumbest operator can't miss.
    Oh the rigors of life.
    If you are totally, absolutely certain you want to do this by GREP, use this:
    (a) Set a To Capitals character style to the string
    \b\u\l+\-\l
    -- this will magically transform "Hon. Lt. Sir John Forsythe Blunt-object" into "BLUNT-Object".
    (b) Then override ( ! ) the first half again with another character style that removes the To Capitals attribute ( ! ):
    \b\u\l+-(?=\l)
    Notice how this expression is exactly the same as the above one, except for the very last code -- the next lowercase must also be caught, but now using a lookahead so its formatting won't be affected.
    This removes the All Caps override from the first halve, changing it from "BLUNT-Object" back to "Blunt-Object".
    Lots of side effects, I'm sure. Perhaps it is safer to teach your operators to run a single script.

  • IWeb using spaces instead of _'s between words in titles stopping uploading

    Had major problems with iWeb ever since purchase when first came out. Given up on it til now cos it makes me so mad with not knowing what to do. Please help. My Blog site i've created is at
    http://uk.geocities.com/blondefishwalker/Site/Site/Welcome.html
    But iweb puts all teh pages i've created in one folder called Site in my Sites folder and there is consequently no index page outside this folder (as there would be in dreamweaver created site folders) for geocities to open as a homepage. I'm scared to move the index page out of teh site folder cos it will break links won't it?
    Check out my homepage as it stands...
    http://uk.geocities.com/blondefishwalker/
    Look at pages on this top level i've took as screen grabs to show you what i'm dealing with here. Mainly cyberduck won't upload to geocities any files made in iweb which have spaces between the words in the file names. I am well aware spaces won't work with web sites and so when i manually insert underscores teh pages usually upload. Problem is there are loads of photos on one page and it would take forever to manually put _ in. The photo's come from iphoto and i thought iphoto 06 was supposed to intergrate into iweb. Why should i have to manually insrt _ everywhere?
    Also my other problem is movies won't upload whatevr i do. Cyberduck if it doesn't have spaces to deal with disconnects 4.6mb into 24mb every time at the point of uploading a quicktime movie exported form imovie to a very reasonable 12mb.
    All i want is a functioning web site i can trust to actually start uploading serious stuff like my photography instead of stupid blog info i'm using as a tester! Arrrgggghhh! Anger directed purely at iWeb! Please help!
    G4 PowerMac Dual 1.25ghz MDD, 1.5GB RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Hey guys! Thank you all for your helpful pointers! Very informative and food for thought. I was unaware that .mac didn't require underscores for spaces which is interesting but I can't at the moment afford to join .mac when all i would be using it for is a few personal blogs. I don't need the storage space or other features really and have had a good look at it.
    I am interested to know what the other servers and hosts are that also don't require underscores in titles? I was looking at perhaps joining http://www.streamlinenet.co.uk/uu.php as it seems cheap and reliable. Would you know at all if this could be a host like you suggest?
    As for publishing from iWeb as suggested, it exports direct to my Sites folder in my Home folder from where i know I can serve my own sites if i like using the apache server on mac's. However I can not view these pages from another computer on the internet even though they work on my mac. I obviously type in the url shown in my share system preference which should be correct but it doesn't work from other computers. I have no firewall which could affect acessing the sites, as it interfers with cyberduck my FTP making any external connections to e.g. geocities and i can't figure out the port that cyberduck uses to add to my firewall allowed list. I have FTP ticked in sharing pref's which i thought would let cyberduck through but doesn't.
    Since my original post, I've played around with iWeb before any of your answers and now have it loaded pretty much working fine except 1 photo which wouldn't upload, even though its file name was 2.jpeg. All the links work and I have to start with http://uk.geocities.com/blondefishwalker/Site/Welcome.html and not http://uk.geocities.com/blondefishwalker as then i get the blank file names page as i have no index along side my site folder what with iWeb publishing everything inside the site folder which i couldn't see how to change from in iWeb. I only upload the folder iWeb creates, not my Sites folder in my home folder as well, so i'll have to look into if thats changable when i don't have .mac. Also, I still can't get geocities to except my movies and am getting a Q symbol instead and i would like to overcome this issue. Any pointers regarding movies?
    One more thing? Can i edit my site in dreamweaver at all? . I'd like to add my own pages and not always have to use the templates in iWeb, which are limited and obviously generic to iWeb. I thought maybe i could create a more personal home page in photoshop and dreamweaver and then link my iWeb created pages to that home page before uploading. Would that work?
    I am interested in web design but am finding it a mine field to learn and such a massive subject! I tried going to a Dreamweaver night class for 4 months using mac's and DW 2004, which should have been an excellent opportunity as i was interested in getting into it as a career, but the tutor didn't seem very professional and never did any lesson plans and I felt i wasn't progressing due to his random way of teaching whatever popped up into his head each week! How long did it take you guys to learn web design? I'm only 25 so have time still to get into it as a career, but anyway this is a forum for practical tips i suppose not careers advice! I'm just stuck on the lowest rung in retail as a graduate in photography and am v bored and skint. Any attempts i've made to get any experience leading to work is met with rejection due to not having any experience! That is the same with my attempts to get into graphic design and photography as well as web design! So frustrating! Any good books on the subject recommended?
    Thanks again for any more advice!

  • Conflict between Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader and how I fixed it

    For the past 5 years, I have owned Adobe Acrobat version 9, and recently installed Adobe Reader as well (version 10.7). I was previously able to set up Firefox to use Acrobat to display PDF files in the browser without downloading them, but I recently noticed that this was no longer the case. Instead, every PDF file I tried to view was being downloaded instead. I came here to find a solution, and discovered that many other people are having similar problems. I followed the instructions given here (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/view-pdf-files-firefox-without-downloading-them), but found that they were actually UNhelpful. They tell you to turn off the Firefox PDF viewer by editing about:config to disable the file pdfs.js, which is the native Firefox PDF viewer-- but that will cause the PDF file type to disappear from the Tools/Options dialog, so you can't assign it to another program (whether Adobe or anything else). This makes it impossible to assign the Adobe plugin to open PDF files. I did figure out a solution on my own, and wanted to post it here to help other users with the same problem.
    I ultimately learned, through trial and error and a lot of research both here and on Adobe's website, that the root cause of my problem was a conflict in Firefox between Acrobat and Reader. I was able to solve it by upgrading Acrobat, getting rid of Reader and enabling the Firefox PDF viewer so that I could assign the PDF file type to the Acrobat plugin within Firefox. Here are the details of my problem and how I solved it:
    1. Acrobat and Reader conflict with each other in Firefox, but this isn't totally Firefox's fault. It's mostly Adobe's fault, and they pretty much admit it. Specifically, they say that Acrobat and Reader can't coexist on the same machine unless both are version 10 or higher. They tell you to upgrade to solve the problem--but I can't afford to pay for a new version of Acrobat. If you have to keep Acrobat 9.x, Adobe says the lowest version of Reader that will work with it is Reader 11. I couldn't upgrade to this because I have Vista, and Adobe hasn't issued Reader 11 for Vista (and doesn't plan to). I did cheat and download the Win 7 version of Reader 11, but it didn't help.
    2. If you have both Acrobat and Reader, you can choose a setting in Reader to make it the default PDF handler--but Firefox ignores this information and defaults to Acrobat no matter what. (This is the part we can blame Firefox for.) If you have a version of Acrobat which is below 9.5.5, Firefox actually blocks it as a security risk, so the plugin won't work at all, regardless of version number. That's why PDFs are being downloaded through your standalone program instead of being displayed in the browser. If you want to view PDFs in Firefox and keep Acrobat on your computer, you MUST upgrade Acrobat to version 9.5.5 or above.
    3. Unless you can upgrade Acrobat to at least 10.x, GET RID OF READER. As long as you can access Acrobat 9.5.5, it will work fine in Firefox and there's no need for Reader. I never used to have Reader myself, only Acrobat, but it must have been downloaded automatically when Acrobat was blocked by Firefox (which I didn't even realize).
    4. IF YOU NEED TO UPGRADE ACROBAT 9.X TO 9.5.5, YOUR LAST CHANCE IS TODAY--6/26/13. Adobe has announced that today is the "end of life" for the Acrobat 9.x platform, and all support and upgrades will cease after today.
    When I searched for updates by going to Adobe's website, it told me there were none available--but when I checked for them FROM THE ACROBAT PROGRAM ITSELF (Help/Check for updates), I was offered a 300 MB upgrade that took me all the way from version 9.0 to 9.5.5 in one step. (It did take a very long time to download and install.)
    5. Once you have Acrobat 9.5.5, this is how to enable it in Firefox:
    a. INSIDE ACROBAT, set your preference for "Internet" to "view PDF files in browser." Close Acrobat. Close Firefox if it's already open.
    b. Reopen Firefox. Check Tools/Add-Ons/Plugins to make sure the Acrobat plugin is there. Enable it if disabled. Close Firefox.
    If the plugin isn't there at all, repair your Acrobat installation through Control Panel. Then return to Firefox and enable it. Close Firefox.
    c. Reopen Firefox again. Go to Tools/Options and check the list of file types. For the names that contain "Adobe" and "Acrobat," Acrobat should be set as the default program to open them. Select it from the drop-down list if it's not. Continue to scroll through the alphabetical list--you should see another entry called Portable Document Format. If it's there, the default will be "preview in Firefox." You should be able to change this to "Acrobat (in Firefox)" using the drop-down menu. Do NOT pick the option that says "Acrobat"--this is the standalone program and will cause your PDFs to be downloaded.
    If you don't see "Acrobat (in Firefox)" as an option, this means your plugin is not working. Go back and fix it using the instructions above (including repair of Acrobat if necessary).
    d. If you don't see a file type for "Portable Document Format" at all, that means the Firefox PDF viewer is disabled. You must enable it by editing the about:config file. To see it, type about:config in the Firefox address bar. You will get a warning message--just click OK and keep going.
    This file is a long list of statements in alphabetical order. LOOK FOR A STATEMENT THAT SAYS "pdfjs.disabled" with a Boolean value of "true." Select this statement and right-click. A context menu will offer you choices including "Toggle." Select that one, which will change the Boolean value to "false." Exit about:config. Close Firefox.
    e. Now return to Tools/Options, scroll through the list of file types, and you should see "Portable Document Format." Select "Acrobat (in Firefox)" as in the instructions above. Close Firefox.
    f. The first time you try to open a PDF file in Firefox, you may get a dialog box which offers you choices of how to open the file. The first will be Acrobat, but DON'T CHOOSE THAT--it will cause your PDF to download. Instead, go to the choice that says "Open as application/pdf." You don't need to change the program that opens this file type, because your settings are already correct. Your PDF should open in the browser, with the full-featured Acrobat menu (including the option of editing or saving the file).
    I hope other users can benefit from the truly painful experience I had figuring all of this out. Good luck.

    The subject box pretty much explains the problem! I've tried ticking the 'drawing objects' box in preferences, and unchecking the 'image placeholders', but I still get pdfs with just a blank space where my word .docx has an image. help!

    Since Apple discussions only provide support for Apple products, and Word is made by Microsoft you should really consider posting your question on MS's own forums for their Mac software

  • Converting PDF to Word for Mac version 14

    I subscribed to PDF Export and tested it by converting a Word for Mac doc to a PDF and then opening same in Word. My font was Palatino regular. It opened alright, but
    Calibri was substituted for Palatino. How can I change this.

    I'm glad you've got the problem licked now, or at least understand the limitations on some of your downloaded PDF documents. I suspect those limitations will apply to all documents that are downloaded from the same database or source, and will consistently not apply to documents downloaded from specific other databases, because of differences in the way documents are scanned by different database services.
    By way of clarification, let me just point out that what you are calling Acrobat, which used to be called *Acrobat Reader,* is now officially called *Adobe Reader.* Adobe changed the name to distinguish more clearly between Acrobat — an expensive commercial application for +creating, modifying and manipulating+ PDF files — and the freeware Adobe Reader, which only enables you to view them. You'll avoid needless confusion by calling the Reader by its proper name in the future. No big deal, though: lots of people make the same mistake here. (I've explained this distinction to my wife any number of times, and have finally learned not to bother doing it again: she simply doesn't care.)

  • MacBook Pro: Swapping Hard Drives Between Two Identical Macs?

    I have two Macbook Pro notebooks. They are both the June 11th 2012 models both with cd/dvd drives. They both have Mavericks installed on both.
    I want to give my 15 inch to my son who has the 13 inch. They 13 will be mine and the 15 his.
    Can i just swap his 750HD from the 13 and put it into the 15? Can i also remove my 250 Samsung pro SSD from my 15 and put it in his 13?
    What are some ways i can go about this that are easy?
    Thanks in advance,
    PS: Like i said they both run mavericks and they are the same generation MBP from June 2012 release from Apple. Except one is a 2.5 i5 13 inch and the other is a 15 inch 2.3 Quad i7.
    We pretty much just want to trade laptops and swap the hard drives easy.
    Thanks again.

    nn007400,
    are each of your laptops associated with your respective Apple IDs? If so, then that might be a fly in the ointment when it comes to updating apps purchased through the Mac App Store, if the tie-in involves your MacBook Pros’ serial numbers as well as your Apple IDs. (I don’t know whether that’s the case or not.)
    The disks can certainly be exchanged physically between the two portables — you could try it for a while, and if you encounter a problem, you can exchange them back and consider alternative (but unfortunately less convenient) approaches.

  • How to link Interactive fields in acrobat 9Pro

    Hi Im new in this and I would like to now how to link interactive fields in acrobat.
    lets say that I have 10 files (File1, File2, File3 etc......) and each file have the same  COMBO BOX that display 5 options (option 1. option 2, option 3, option 4 and option 5), all 10 files have the same combo box with the same options, but i want to DELETE option 3 from each file.
    So, how can I do it, beacuse right now I have to do it manually each file at the time, and in real I dont have 10 files I have 500.
    Please I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks.

    I am not so sure yet but in the PLD properties window on general tab of SBO 2005A there is field name link to. its description is :
    Creates a link between several fields, to determine if the system collectively displays or hides them. If a field is blank or hidden, its linked fields are not printed either.
    To create the link, choose the Unique ID of the field to which you want to link the selected field.
    If the field Total Liable in the document is set to zero there is no need to print the Tax, Discount, and Total fields. It is possible to link these fields to the field Total Liable by selecting its unique ID in the field Link to, found in each one of their Properties windows. This will then hide the fields when Total Liable is zero.
    If a linked field is not yet calculated, the field is ignored.
    Another example:
    Steps for Version 2005A:
    Link every existing field in the Repetitive Area
           to itself (thisinlcudes hidden fields as well!)
    add the following fields to the Repetitive Area
    Field_1:
    General Tab
    untick visible
    Left = 0 / Width = 0 / Top = 0 / Height = 0
    Content/Variable Tab
    Variable No.: 157
    Field_2:
    General Tab
    untick visible
    Left = 0 / Width = 0 / Top = 0 / Height = 0
    Content Tab
    Source Type: Formula
    Field_1 ==' '
    Increasethe Height of the Repetitive Area to allow placing the following field vertically below the exisiting fields of the Repetitive Area - tick Height Adjustment for the Area!
    Field_3:
    General Tab
    Link to: Field_2
    Left = / Width = / Top = / Height =
    => place vertically below the top row in the Repetitive Area
    Format Tab
    Line Break: Divide into Rows
    tick Field Height Adjustment
    Content Tab
    Source Type: Database
    Table: AR Invoice - Rows
    Column: Text
    Maybe it is what your are looking for.
    BTw, Do not you have the custom PLD pdf file ? You could download it in the documentaiton resource center or requesting it to SAP partner.
    Rgds,

  • My Macpro Intel Core Duo-running OS 10.6.8 has been crashing pretty much with everything I try to open.  I find the last resort will be to boot from Snow Leopard system disc. Has anyone experienced  this? I can only run Google Chrome.

    In the last few days, it seems that my computer has all of a sudden caught a virus.  I have never had that happened to a computer, but I have surely heard about it.  I can't think of any other reason it is behaving like this.  I know that Macs have been pretty much impervious to viruses, but that was before they were the majority of users.
    Anyway, what is happening is, my computer keeps crashing whenever I try to open a program, app, document, folder, file, etc.  I tried to boot from Drive Genius to establish the problem, but Drive Genius crashed too.  I know the last ditch effort (after cleaning and maintenance of disc verification and permissions and repairs, is to reboot from the system disc.
    Before I go there I was hoping someone in the community would have a suggestion to help me avoid that ultimate last resort.  The tech support guy at Drive Genius told me that probably would have to be the way to go (as in reboot) and if that doesn't clear it up, it's repair time.
    Thank you for your consideration in advance;
    Lorain R

    In the last few days, it seems that my computer has all of a sudden caught a virus.
    As others have pointed out, this isn't malware. That should not be your first (or even fifty-first) thought when your Mac starts misbehaving. For more on this topic, see my Mac Malware Guide.
    I know the last ditch effort (after cleaning and maintenance of disc verification and permissions and repairs, is to reboot from the system disc.
    You mention "cleaning and maintenance." Have you been running utilities claiming to do those things? If so, you may be the victim of an overly-zealous cleaning job, which has removed important files and damaged your system.
    If I'm understanding correctly, you're unable to open any applications at all... is that right? Do you have any backups? If you don't have backups, you're in a sticky situation, as it will be difficult to make backups in your current state, but you shouldn't try any kind of repairs without them. (Actually, you shouldn't do anything with your computer without backups, but this is especially important when something is going badly wrong.)
    If you have backups, reboot from your Snow Leopard install disc. From there, first, repair the hard drive with Disk Utility. Once that is done, assuming repairs were successful, reinstall the system. You can simply reinstall it on top of your current system, and it will replace any damaged or lost system files with new copies. (You'll also need to update the system via Software Update after reinstalling.)
    If you don't have backups, or if Disk Utility can't repair damage, or if the problem continues even after a reinstall, post back with those details.
