Pretty Print in windows 7

I am using Flash Builder 4 and Windows 7 and have installed the PrettyPrint formatting tool. Under Windows XP all worked find. Now when I start Flash Bulder 4 I see the formatting icons for about half a second in the toolbar and then they disappear. Formatting is not possible. Anyone any idea what is going wrong here?
Thanks

Hi,
You might need to check with the publisher of that, has he updated to the new version of eclipse?
Are you saying that you had fb 4 working on xp with pretty print?

  • Printing from Windows 8 to a shared printer on a Windows 7 machine

    WE have a a user that has a laser printer on A windows 7 machine that others in the office can access EXCEPT the one person on a Windows 8 machine. We have tried everything, but cannot get her to print to this printer. Says it cannot be found. What does
    Windows 8 need to see a printer on a Win 7 workstation. She does have access to network printers and her own.
    Thanks.

    We have the same kind of problem but a bit different.
    Dell Printer (used for years shared on a network) was moved to our Windows 7 machine plugged in via USB.  We only use a plain workgroup with no Domain as we also have Macs on the network.
    I have Macs using shared printer, a Windows XP using the shared printer, and even Windows 7 under Parallels on the Macs using the shared printer no problem.
    I had the lone Windows 8 laptop using the shared printer but then it just stopped working.  So I deleted it and now when I try to add it is want credentials and none work.  It will not connect to the shared printer on the Windows 7 machine.
    I have Windows 7 (which also has a couple shared drives that do work) set for No Homegroup and No Password for sharing - pretty much open as we are behind a Cisco Firewall to the outside.  No firewalls on the pcs.
    Not sure where to go from here...

  • Why won't my printer print with Windows 8?

    Why won’t my printer print with Windows 8?
    Have you just upgraded, or purchased a new computer with Windows 8, and now you can’t get your printer to work?  If so, this may help you.  A lot of people have questions about installing their printer on a new OS.  This will help you answer those questions and make sure that you get everything installed.
    Before You Start
    Before you try to install the printer on a Windows 8 computer, you should check to make sure the printer is compatible with the new OS.  The link below will give you a list of the printers that will work in Windows 8.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03168175&lc=en&cc=us&destPage=document&dlc=en
    If you have upgraded your computer to Windows 8 form another version of Windows, make sure to completely uninstall all of the software for your printer.  It should still print, but to use all the functions you will need to reinstall the software, if it’s available.
    Another thing to consider is how you want to connect the printer to the computer.
    USB.  You should make sure that you have a USB cable that is no longer than 6 ft. (roughly 2m).  Make sure to connect the printer directly to the computer.  Do not use a USB hub.
    Ethernet cable.  Make sure you have the network setup, that you have a free cable port on the router, and that you have an Ethernet cable available.
    Wireless.  You should make sure that you have the wireless network setup, and that you have the password for the wireless network.
     1.     Installing Via USB
    Installing via USB in Windows 8 has become much simpler for HP printer users.  In other versions of the Windows OS you had to start the installation and wait for it to ask you for the USB connection.  If you didn’t, you would have to uninstall the printer from the Printers/Devices folder, and then start the install.  In Windows 8, that will not be a problem.  If you plug the printer’s USB cable in and then install the printer’s software, it will still work.  Now for in depth instructions on installing the printer via USB click the link below.

    2.     Installing Via an Ethernet Network Connection
    For an Ethernet network connected printer the install is amazingly simple.  All you have to do is connect the printer to the network.  Once you have that done, Windows 8 will automatically install the drivers for you.  Then, all you have to do is install the rest of the software, if it’s available.  It’s really that easy.
    http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html
    3.     Installing Via a Wireless Network Connection.
    For a wireless network connected printer the install is amazingly simple as well.  All you have to do is connect the printer to the network.  Once you have that done, Windows 8 will automatically install the drivers for you.  Then, all you have to do is install the rest of the software, if it’s available.  It’s pretty much the same as an Ethernet install, just wireless.
    http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html
    Alternate Install Methods
    With Windows 8, many printers’ drivers are installed with the OS.  These are known as InOS drivers, since they come built into the operating system.  If you have one of those printers, all you should have to do is connect it to the computer via USB, or connect it to the network via Ethernet or wireless.  Once you have that done Windows will handle the rest.  There are alternate methods of installing your printer if the normal methods are not working for some reason.  You can install the printer either using the Printer Install Wizard, or through Windows Updates.
    Printer Install Wizard:

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03460648&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&la...
    Note: The Laserjet drivers for the Asia-Pacific and Japan won’t be released until a later date.  Check the support site linked below for driver availability.  I will update this post once they become available.

  • IMac to print to "shared" printer on Windows XP Home

    I have just returned to the Mac world. My first MAC was one of the first MACs ever made (1984) - it's in the basement and it still works.
    I have a new iMac G5. I was able to transfer all the files I wanted from my laptop (Windows XP Home) to my iMac without any problems.
    What I can not do is get the iMac to access the HP DeskJet 932c printer that is connected to my DELL (Windows XP Home). The printer is "shared". My laptop has no problems connecting to the printer.
    When I follow the instructions with the iMac, the iMac finds the DELL computer, I'm able to access (login) to the DELL computer but no printers are listed.
    I suspect it is because it is not really a Windows "workgroup" as the Apple documentation talks about, but a "shared" printer within Windows XP Home.
    I'm sure that there is a solution, after all, this is a MAC!

    Depends on what Mac software you have?
    Currently nothing other than that which ships with the Mac - I have had it for less than a week.
    Also the G5 iMac is pretty well proven technology,
    these are first revision Intel Macs.
    Good point and this is the one potential drawback to the switch.
    Personally I would go for the Intel Mac, as Steve
    Jobs said, it is the same as thew G5 iMac, jsut twice
    as fast!
    I'm going to do this and that's why I'm going to mark my question as answered. Hopefully the next Mac will work with my XP printer!
    Thanks again for all your help.
    Your website for help about the printer is excellent. It is rare to find something as well explained and perfectly documented. I give it a 4+ (I'm a teacher and in our education system we "level" student work - level 4 is the highest level!)

  • Xml formatting (pretty print, etc)

    Our MXML is getting a bit messy. (we also need a pretty
    printer and simple
    xml exploration and editing) for soap feeds.
    1. Is there something in Eclipse now that does this?
    2. Is there a publicly available plug-in
    3. Is there some simple (i.e. cheap or free tool) for doing
    this. XMLSpy
    would be overkill.

    Excellent directions, Yes, this is exactly what I needed to
    know. It now
    works fine.
    Only one item to note. Even though I did not set XMLBuddy as
    the default for
    *.mxml
    -- If I do the context menu (right click) and choose xml
    buddy, then it will
    stay sticky for that file the next time. The same as with
    using the
    FlexBuilder mxml editor. Not a real problem but what does
    "default" mean any
    more if the IDE is trying to be so smart as to decide for me
    what my default
    should be :-)

  • Pretty Printer ONLY for selected lines in ABAP editor?

    Hi,
    I have done SETTINGS(Menu----Utilities) in PRETTY PRINTER in my ABAP editor that, all KEY WORDS shuld b in UPPER CASE.
    Say, I hv written code(in raw format, not yet pressed the PRETTY PRITER) like below,
    ABAP Code Line_1
    ABAP Code Line_2
    ABAP Code Line_3
    ABAP Code Line_4
    ABAP Code Line_5
    I want to hv pretty printer format for Line 3 and Line 5 ONLY!! I do not want to hv it for other lines, so, I high lighted(selected) those lines (3 and 5) and pressed pretty printer, but, am getting the pretty printer format for all the rest of the code as a single shot!!
    So, pls. let me know that, How I can get the pretty printer format ONLY for the lines, for which I wished(selected by high lighting)?
    And also let me know, How Can I do automatic(not manually) indentation for my code as a part of pretty printer? Actually, I tried but, am not getting even though I checled the check box intendation in SETTINGS!!
    Thank you

    Hi ,
    Preety printer will work on all the code that is avaliable in window,
    In case. if you want to do partial , copy your code in seperate window and do Pretty Printer for  it.

  • Any ideas on a nice BSP view pretty printer?

    Hi there,
    I am wondering whether somebody already tried to extend the SAP standard pretty printer by an own functionality which fits better for pages with mixed content, containing not only BSP-elements but also HTML-tags.
    The standard pretty printer considers everything as plain text which is not a BSP-element and leaves it unaltered. Only BSP-elements are arranged according to their tree structure.
    This produces ugly results for pages with mixed content.
    1.) Requirement
    A Pretty Printer for HTML-based BSP views should cover the following:
    (a) HTML-Tags and BSP-elements together form the chain. As in following example:
    <z:table table_id="testTab" binding="//test/gt_test" rows="5">
      <z:tableBody position="top">
        <colgroup>
          <col width="4%">
          <col width="96%">
        </colgroup>
      </z:tableBody>
      <z:column name="type" header="<%=zcl_bsp_util=>dtel_text_s('EDI_TTYP')%>"
                listPos="10"/>
      <z:column name="text" listPos="20"></z:column>
    </z:table>
    (b) Certain HTML formatting tags like I, B, etc. should not be added to the stack but be treated inline.
    (c) HTML-attribute names should be converted to lower case, the attribute values should be quoted.
    (d) Like for BSP-elements, there should be a threshold after which the attributes should appear in separate lines. Instead of a certain maximum "number of attributes", this could also be a maximum number of characters per line.
    (e) Scripting Tags (<% ... %>) should start at a new line, if the content contains new-lines.
    (f) Evaluation Scripting (<%= ... %>) should be inline, if they are contained within text nodes (and not within HTML oder BSP element nodes).
    (g) The Pretty Printer should be parametrizable (with parameters like indent-depth,... ).
    2.) Exits?
    Of course, one could always use an external HTML editor and write an add-on for that editor which produces the desired result. Or one could take the view content into the clipboard, paste it into a plain text editor like UltraEdit or TextPad which allows external commands, apply an external, self-written pretty printer to it and then paste the result back into the View. But it would be easier to use the "Pretty Printer" button directly to get the result. Therefore the question arises at which point the standard Pretty Printer Functionality could be modified or extended.
    I didn't find an exit. But the pretty-print itself is doubly-decoupled in the standard which minimizes the number of points where an extension has to be made:
    2.a) First decoupling point: The Fcode handler method pretty_printer_ext( ) in cl_o2_page is calling
    dynamically a method in cl_o2_co2_processor:
    * call pretty printer
      create object pp type ('CL_O2_CO2_PROCESSOR').
      appl_str = me->pagekey-applname.
      page_str = me->pagekey-pagekey.
      try.
          CALL METHOD pp->('PRETTY_PRINT')
            EXPORTING
              indent              = 2
              ATTRIBUTE_NORMALIZE = 'X'
              ATTRIBUTE_THRESHOLD = 2
              BSP_UNFORMATTED     = source
              appl                = appl_str
              page                = page_str
            IMPORTING
              test_ok             = test_ok
              BSP_FORMATTED       = pp_source.
        catch cx_o2_co2_exception into o2ex.
    2.b) Second decoupling point:
    The method pretty_print() of class cl_o2_co2_processor (fancy names, by the way. It seems that many former chemistry students had joined the BSP team ),
    there is a second delegation, to a local class, as follows:
      data pretty type ref to LCL_BSP_PRETTY_PRINT.
      pretty = LCL_BSP_PRETTY_PRINT=>getInstance( processor = me ).
    The real logic for doing the Pretty Print, finally, is performed in this local class.
    3.) Implementation.
    Since, up to my knowledge, there is no HTML parser in the ABAP world,
    the implementation could be based on existing HTML Parsers, like the Perl module Parser::HTML, or the Java package http://htmlparser.sourceforge.net/ . The pretty printer could then be called as external OS command.
    Are there any ideas out there? Or is there somebody who already worked in this direction?
    Regards,
    Rüdiger

    For those who are interested. I found out that the Dave Ragget's classic "HTML Tidy" (see <a href="http://tidy.sourceforge.net/">http://tidy.sourceforge.net/</a> )  is available in ABAP! There is a class CL_HTMLTIDY (at least here in my SAP_BASIS 700 system) which wraps calls of HTML Tidy by kernel modules.
    The class is undocumented, but there are 2 OSS notes of this year for it, so it might well be that it is alive.
    HTML Tidy can surely not directly be used for Pretty Printing BSP views, but for designing test cases or for doing things like HTML parsing, it might be a helpful tool.

  • Printing in Windows 8 and Windows RT

    Wow!  It Just Prints
    You can easily print when you connect your new Windows 8 tablet, laptop, or desktop to your existing network with this HP printer.
    HP has included basic (in-OS) drivers for your printer with the Windows 8 operating system and published two Windows 8 store applications.
    What “just works”
    Basic direct and network print from Windows 8 start tile programs like Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Firefox.
    Basic print from desktop applications
    Scan from desktop applications like MS Word and Paint.
    Ink Level information from HP Printer Control and Scan from HP Scan and Capture Windows 8 store application.
    You do not have to download any software or insert the printer CD.
    At a high level, three steps are needed:
    Connect the new Windows 8 tablet or PC to a home network with a connected HP Printer
    Download HP Printer Control from the Windows 8 store.
    Download HP Scan and Capture from the Windows 8 store.
    Connect the new Windows 8 tablet or PC to a home network with a connected HP Printer
    1.1. After a tablet or PC with Windows 8 is connected to a home network, HP basic print and scan drivers are connected automatically.
    1.1.1.   To print from an internet browser, move to the far right of the screen to open the “charms” menu, and open devices
    1.1.2.   Networked printers will be displayed as an option to print to.
    1.2.  From the desktop, open an application and choose file > print.
    2 Download HP Printer Control and HP Scan and Capture from the Windows 8 store.
    3.1. View Ink Levels and other printer information from the HP Printer Control
    3.3. Scan from HP Scan and Capture
    To have fuller features of your printer, install the full featured hp.com drivers.
    This is need to get:
                            boarderless photo printing
                            scan to pdf
                            toolbox functions like printer maintenance
    From HP Printer Control, select “Get Full Featured Software”.

  • Is there better way to do this?  (Xml Pretty Print | node removing)

    Hi all, I have been working at home on a small project to help my Java Jedi training. :-)
    My app saves quotes from authors in an xml file.

    When I remove a node I get a Line Space above the node that was removed, or better put my node gets replaced by a empty line.Replaced? No, there's already a new-line character after the node that was removed. And there was one before that node too. You didn't remove either of those, so after the removal there are two consecutive new-line characters. As you can see.
    And no, trying to pretty-print the XML document won't remove any of those. It might add whitespace to make the document nicely indented, but it won't ever remove whitespace. If you want whitespace removed then you'll have to do it yourself.
    For example, after you remove a node, also remove the node following it if it's a whitespace text node. Or something like that.

  • Is it possible to print from Windows 8.1 to a printer connected to the USB port on an Airport Express?

    Is it possible to print from Windows 8.1 to a printer connected to the USB port on an Airport Express?
    a) HP printer with USB port only (no ethernet port) connected to Airport Express
    b) No issue printing from Macs
    Tests
    1) Installed Bonjour 2 - does not find printer (now uninstalled)
    2) Bonjour 3 is listed in programs but no way to access
    3) Using TCPIP address (and no Bonjour) gives 'Unsupported Personality' error when printing test page
    Regards
    Richard
    p.s. why are all Windows 8.1 questios n the forum 'Locked' with no reply?

    This is possible, but not with Bonjour or any other fixes.  It is just a printer set up based on the Port name of the Airport, 10.0.1.1.
    I found the answer on YouTube, Title: Windows Printing For Apple AirPort Extreme without Bonjour Wireless wifi.

  • Can't print to Windows 7 shared printer from Mac OS Lion

    Dear all,
    I would like to share my experience battling to figure out how to print to Windows 7 shared printer from Mac OS Lion. Myself had this problem and looking throughly in internet without success. But finally I figured out the solution by myself, hope this can help other Mac user with similar problem.
    OK, when I try to setup my new MacBook Pro with OS Lion to connect with my Canon MX308 printer attached to desktop with Windows 7 Ultimate,
    1. I simply select System Preferences>Print & Scan.
    2. Then looks for the + sign just below the box to add a new printer.
    3. From the option toolbar above, I select Windows. I have connect this MacBook with my Windows Network, so the workgroup will appear to the left column.
    4. After I select this group, the computer list will appear in the middle column
    5. Then after I select the computer which my printer connected to, my printer sharename will appear in the right column
    6. Last step is to select the printer I want to use.
    7. After that it will automatically put your printer sharename to the "Name". And then I select my printer driver at "Print Using" and find my printer manufacturer which is Canon MX300 series from driver lists. Finish!
    My printer appear in the Printers List. But the problem is everytime I try to print there will be error message saying "ON HOLD Authentication Required".
    This problem start to kill me, I search all around for similar problem, but the solution was never worked for me!
    Until just now I figured out accidentally for the solution.
    THE PROBLEM LIES ON MY PRINTER DRIVER!!!! Although I have downloaded the most update driver from Apple site and Apple Software update said there is no more update for my system!
    The solution for my problem is Gutenprint Printer Driver! You can download this driver at http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php, then select for the latest driver gutenprint-5.2.7.dmg. Install this driver!
    Then back to Print & Scan in System Preferences, then right click on Printers List box, then choose "Reset Printing System..." to clear the previous failed printers.
    After that, repeat the above step 2 - 7. Only for the last step I need to select the Printer Driver for my Canon MX308 for the driver name : "Canon PIXMA MX300 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.7"
    Now I can sleep as a baby knowing that my printer make a friend with my new Macbook Pro! Hope this will help others!

    I have the same setup but with a Canon MX850.  This did not fix my problem.

    Hi,
    Pritty printer gives a pritty view to your code, so that it can be easily readable.
    You can set the functionality of pritty printer by doing some setting.
    The path for setting is
    Utilities>Setting>ABAP Editor-->Pritty Printer.
    Thanks.
