Prevent ChaRM Deletion???

Hello Gurus,
I am aware that deleting service desk messages is not a straight forward task.
As ChaRM is also based on service desk, I assumed that ChaRM messages too cannot be deleted. But, it behaves the other way. We are able to delete ChaRM messages. I am sure there should be a way to avoid ChaRM deletion.
Can anybody throw some light in this regard? Your help will be greatly appreciated.
best regds,
Alagammai.

Hi Alagammai,
You can use the authorization objects CRM_ORD_PR and CRM_ORD_OP to prevent the deletion of change transactions. Please remove the 'Delete' authorization from these Authorization Objects.
Also refer to SAP Note 881553.
It is very important that you remove the delete authorization from user roles - since the CRMD_ORDER transaction can be used to delete all transaction types including maintenance cycles.

  • Preventing the deletion of a PO with IR but no GR

    Hello guys,
I am facing a requirement to prevent the deletion of non-GR related Purchase Orders. The POs are still marked as complete since an invoice has been released.
When trying to delete complete GR related POs, we are getting the following message: "Quantity delivered differes from qty invoiced (Function not possible)"
However, when there's no GR linked to the PO, the deletion is going through.
    How can I prevent this?
    Thanks

  • Preventing the deletion of the workspace(Directory) while it is in use

    Hello,
I have application which allows user to create the workspace.I want to avoid deletion of the workspace from backend while java application is using it.
Eclipse has the this feature ,when i create the workspace("ABCWorkSpace") and start the Eclipse and now from the windows explorer if i try to delete the workspace("ABCWorkspace") ,it won't allow me to delete it.This might be because of the .lock file created in .metadata folder.
I want the similar feature .Could anyone please sugest the way to handle this requirment.
    Appreciate your time.

    Thanks for your quick reply.
I may be little wrong in explaining the problem .I will explain it again
--I have application which allows user to create the workspace.I want to avoid deletion of the workspace from backend (i.e avoid manual deletion of the workspace from windows explorer)while java application is using it.
-- The one way might be i open one of the file present in the workspace using the fileInputStream from the workspace
    like
    final currentWorkSpace ="C:\\MyWorkSpace\\config.txt"
    FileInputStream fis =new FileInputStream(currentWorkSpace);
--Now if i tried to delete the workspace manually from the windows explorer it wont't allow deletion saying
"Cannot delete config.txt.It is being used by another programm or person ....."
--Using above approch i can prevent manual deletion of the workspace named "MyWorkSpace" and the file "config.txt " but it allows deletion of the other files present in "MyWorkSpace".
    Appreciate your time .

  • How to prevent Node deletion

    Hi,
Is it possible in DRM to have a validation for not deleting of node having some particular mapping conditions or properties assigned.
Can we prevent node deletion with validation rules.

Yes, you can use a validation with Class = PropRemove and Level = Remove, then specify a combination of up to three property values to trigger validation failure.  Easiest is to create a derived property which evaluates your conditions and results in a True/False condition to be used for the validation.  In our implementation we use a property that is only accessible to system admins which specifies whether deletion is allowed and defaults to False, so a node cannot be deleted without an admin override.

  • Lock finder sidebar to prevent accidental deletion

Somehow I occasionally drag an item from the Finder sidebar thus deleting it. Is there any way to lock the sidebar to prevent accidental deletions. I want to still be able to unlock it to add or remove items.

It appears you have been using Apple computers for a while (according to your profile), so you most likely already know that when things get accidentally dragged off the Finder sidebar, they are not actually deleted. All items in the sidebar are only aliases, and still reside where you originally saved them.
Like I say, I bet you already know that.
As to your question, I did a quick Google search for "apple finder sidebar lock" and found a bunch of hits (including this post). Since you are the one with the question, I'll let you do the looking. Or maybe one of the resident geniuses will know.
    Good luck.

  • Prevent record deletion

    Hello,
Is it possible to create a mechanism preventing record deletion if certain criteria is met?
For example, if particular Account has Status=Active user is prevented from deleting the record.
Workflows do not look to be helpful here, what could be the other options?
    Thanks in advance,
    Alexei

  • Is there a way to prevent accidentally deleting pictures?

I am wondering if there is any sort of safety setting to keep from having my photos accidentally deleted?  My grandson likes to look at the pictures, but I am worried that he will swipe the trash can and then delete the pictures before I can stop him.  Is there any way to prevent this from happening?  (besides the obvious which would be to disallow him to look at the photo albums...a sure fire way to silence him in a restaurant or church.)

    You're welcome.
Here's an app that might help!

Only thing is finding a wifi spot...
OR maybe if you find the time, email ones to your personal account you want to keep before the viewing begins!
    Just ideas, really.
    Good lcuk!

  • Prevent Folder Deletion w/ Password Protect on USB?

I've seen similar topics but not specific to my needs. I need to prevent folders on a USB / flash drive from being deleted - hopefully with password protection software or something similar (I've done a million hopeless searches).
MOST IMPORTANTLY, the folder has to be readable by everyone. So, I want the folders to be readable w/out a password, just not able to be deleted on Windows and Mac platforms without proper access. I'm aware of disk image and locking folders in the Info menu - however, you can still dump the files from another computer if it's locked...right? I tried locking my files on my mac but was able to dump them on my pc. Any leads or am I missing something?

I don't think there is anything you can do with software if you want to be able to make changes from your computer. There are some USB drives that have a write-lock switch. If you intent to never change the data, you may be able to permanently lock it by drilling out the switch, putting some epoxy on the switch, or some other means. The other option is to attach an USB extension cable to the USB drive, use the switch to write-lock it, and put in in a small lock box (with a small notch cut in the case for the cable. Small lock boxes are made for keeping emergency keys handy, and for real-estate agents use, so it shouldn't be too hard to find one.
The other option is to use a CD-R disk instead of the USB drive.

  • What setting prevents a deleted app from re-downloading from iCloud to the iPhone?

re: iOS 7.1.1, iTunes Mac 11.2, Mac OS 10.9.3
What setting do I select that prevents an app that's been deleted from the iPhone from re-loading back from iCloud after a Sync? I don't want to permanently delete the App from iCloud, as I want the option to load it back at a later date. I can't find the Setting that does this. Is it a setting on the iPhone or in iTunes on the Mac?
I know this can be done, as my iPad is operating this way. But my wife's iPhone isn't. I can't remember what setting I used to get it to do this.
    Thanks

I just tried it. I deleted an app from the phone. When I connected to iTunes instead of a Sync button there were 2 buttons, Revert and Apply. And the app I deleted had an Install button. Perhaps if you don't click Apply the app will be reinstalled.

  • Prevent Item Deletion From an Approved SC

We are on SRM 2.0/EBP 3.5 and I am fairly new in the SRM area.
I was able to prevent changes by requestor to SC while in approval by implementing BBP_WFL_SECUR_BADI. However this does not work once SC is approved.

  • Prevent file deletion on server but allow read/write permissions

So, I have several iMacs that are basically public computers.  They will all access a shared server.  The machines need to possess all of the user permissions of a "read/write" user with the EXCEPTION of being allowed to delete.  As it is now, a random user could delete our entire server in two clicks.  So, I need to somehow secure our data while still allowing the "reading" and "editing" of files.
Here's what I need to do:
    •  Somehow disable the delete file function altogether (while still maintaining read/edit permissions) or
    •  Find some 3rd party app or workaround that prompts the user with a password dialogue box in order to execute the "delete" function or
    •  Somehow apply permissions to a specific folder on the server that enables read/edit, but disables file deleting by users
I set the permissions of my trash folder to "read only" however, this only prevents deleting local files and doesn't prohibit deleting files from the shared drive.
    Thoughts?

    I'd rethink the requirements.
The literal answer is that yes, you can mark the files as being undeletable.
The access control list setting via the command line chmod command is something akin to the following:
    chmod +a "groupname deny delete"
In practice, these same requirements do allow the shared files to be effectively deleted; via overwrite.  (This is why the Unix-layer file protections don't bother to differentiate write from delete access.)  These requirements also allow partial file corruptions, a situation which tends to be far more pernicious.

  • Which is the specific item inside the "Clear History" settings of Firefox 3.6.13 that, if checked, prevents or deletes the 'Yahoo Sign In Seal' ?

My Yahoo Sign in Seal gets deleted from the cache or wherever it is saved in my computer after I close Firefox (3.6.13) and I don't see it again when I restart Firefox and browse to the Yahoo login page.
I used to have the 'private browsing session' checked. But after unchecking it and unchecking all the items in the 'clear history' section, the Sign In Seal problem is resolved. But I want the maximum possible Privacy settings that this Sign In Seal can withstand, ie the minimum possible sacrifice of privacy in relation to the Seal. My question is, how can I do that ? Is there any specific checkbox - unchecking which (and not unchecking all the others like what I've done now) will prevent the Seal from getting deleted ?

You can't use Private Browsing if you need to preserve or access specific cookies. In Private Browsing mode the cookies from a regular session are not available. Firefox will create a new set of cookies for every Private Browsing session that are removed if the PB mode session is ended.

  • How do I prevent cleared deleted messages?

Old voicemail messages keep reappearing despite being deleted and cleared.  How do I prevent this from happening?

If you have back up your text messages, you can restore from the backup.
To restore information from a backup, use one of the following methods after connecting your iOS device to the computer with which you normally sync:
    1. Right-click (or Control-click) the device and choose Restore from Backup
    2. If you have a new phone, you can connect to iTunes and it will prompt to restore from your backup
    Solution from Apple.com: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
If you have no backup for your data on iPhone, iPhone data recovery software is your last shot! I used Tenorshare  iTunes Data Recovery and total saver recovery and  it worked well.
