Prevent Jabber account from going idle

I have a Jabber account that automatically goes Idle (yellow dot) after a certain amount of time. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I've checked up and down in Messages > Preferences and can't seem to find an option to change this. Thanks!

  • OneNote prevents my computer from going to sleep when I have a shared notebook open. Suggestions?

    Hello,
    The issue is that my computer will not go to sleep if I have OneNote opened with my shared notebook loaded.
    Background: I'm currently running Windows 8 Pro on a desktop machine with Office 2010 Home and Student installed. I log into the OS under my outlook.com internet account.  OneNote, which I always keep open, has my main
    notebook shared on my SkyDrive.
    Scenarios: The computer will go to sleep if I reboot the machine and do not open OneNote. The computer will go to sleep if I close my shared notebook, reboot the machine and open OneNote (with no notebooks open). The computer will go to sleep if I open
    OneNote with my shared notebook, close it, AND exit OneNote from the icon in the system tray.
    The scenarios I ran lead me to believe that OneNote is continuously polling my shared online notebook, thus preventing my computer from going to sleep. The is a regression from the behavior in Windows 7. Are there any configuration changes I can make to
    fix this?
    Thanks.

    Try modify the settings under:
    Control Panel --> Power Options --> Multimedia settings --> When sharing media to Allow the computer to sleep

  • Preventing the User from going back to the main page after logging out.

    Hi all,
    In my project I want to prevent the User from going back to the Main page, by clicking the back button of the browser, after the user has loggged out.I had invalidated the session so the user will not be able to do any operations, but he can vew the infos. I want to redirect to the login page if the user tries to go back using the back button after he has logged out.
    I tried the same in this forum after loging out. Surprisingly it is the same. I can browse through all the operations i did even after logging out from here.
    Is it not possible to do that in Servlets?Could somebody help?
    Thanks,
    Zach.

    Hi,
    You can use a servlet filter to do this , as it can interceptany request to your application you can decide to allow user access or not to any page/servlet.
    public class Test implements Filter{
         public void destroy() {
         public void doFilter(ServletRequest arg0, ServletResponse arg1, FilterChain arg2) throws IOException,
                   ServletException {
              System.out.println("filter");
              HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest) arg0;
              if(!request.getRequestURI().contains("index")){ // set condition that will be checked to verify if the user is logged in
                   System.out.println("redirecting ... ");
                   RequestDispatcher d = arg0.getRequestDispatcher("/index.jsp");
                   d.forward(arg0, arg1);
              arg2.doFilter(arg0, arg1);
         public void init(FilterConfig arg0) throws ServletException {
    }in you web.xml add :
    <filter>
              <filter-name>test</filter-name>
              <filter-class>test.Test</filter-class>
         </filter>
         <filter-mapping>
              <filter-name>test</filter-name>
              <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
         </filter-mapping>

  • Prevent billing document from going to COPA

    Hello,
    I have a requirement to prevent a certain billing document from going to COPA. I created a new pricing condition, assigned an account key and linked this account key to a GL account. This enabled the condition value to be transferred to the GL account. In order to prevent the condition value from going to COPA, I did not assign this condition type to a COPA value field (transaction KE4I).
    However, I notice that the bllling document is going to COPA but no condition values are getting transferred. Is it possible to prevent such billing documents from going to COPA entirely (as they would unecessarily create a profitability segment)?
    P.S: This billing document was created with reference to a delivery of type LO (delivery without order reference) as we do not have the need for a sales order in this scenario.
    Thanks,
    Rugmani

    Hi
    First of all, I would like to ask you why you would not like to take this in COPA. When a revenue value is posted in GL account and you dont take a posting in COPA, it would imbalance your FI and COPA profitability...
    However, if you have rationally analysed your requirement and you would like to do it anyway, then here is the solution
    Use Exit COPA0005 and apply the following code..
    (This code is sample, based on blocking COPA doc where distribution channel = 45 and Ref Org Unit = CRMB).. You need to write your code in a way that it does not stop creating the COPA doc in other cases where it is required....
    Do thorough testing once you have this code..
    *&  Include           ZXKKEU07
    data : wa_ACCIT type ACCIT.
    if I_ERKRS = 'XXXX'. (Your Op Concern Code)
      read table T_ACCIT into wa_accit with key VTWEG = '45' AWORG = 'CRMB'.
      if sy-subrc = 0.
        E_INIT = 'X'.
      endif.
    endif.

  • How to prevent guest account from accessing my admin account files/documents?

    I have an iMac 21" running OS 10.6.8.    I have a guest account set up in addition to my own administrators account.  When I log on as a guest, I am able to access all of the file documents on my computer, including the ones created on my administator's account.  These are files I do not want a guest to be able to access.  My question is how to change the settings so these do not show up when logged in to the guest account.  I have tried changing Finder Preferences in the guest account - this can be easily changed back by the guest user, and the settings also revert back after I log out.  In the admin account I checked System Preferences settings - the only thing on is printer and bluetooth sharing.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Here's a way to reset the Home folder permissions and ACLs posed by Linc Davis that may do the job.

    This helped meRe: Reset Home Folder Permissions and ACLs not working?

    Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR..; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_; chmod -R -N ~ $_; } 2>&-
    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
    Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
    You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
    The command may take a few minutes to run, or perhaps longer if you have literally millions of files in your home folder. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Here's another way to do the same thing but this time when booted into the Recovery volume:
    You may need to rebuild permissions on your user account. To do this,boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type:  ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.

  • Any way to prevent a formula from going bad?

    I work mostly in 2008, so I'm not sure if that has happened to me in XI, but I'm wondering if the following has happened to anyone else . . . and if you know how to avoid it:
    I created a report on a database that does not change (it's a copy used for year-end reporting then archived). It took a number of attempts to get it to work the way I needed it to, but once I did, the totals tied with other reports.
    Then this morning I ran the report and the totals were different. I finally tracked it down to the record selection formula. There was nothing wrong with the formula, but the report was not picking up 3 records. I rebuilt the report from scratch and now the totals are correct again.
    I've had this happen with formulas, too, where a formula stops evaluating and returns 0. The only way to fix it is to delete it then re-write it from scratch to get it to evaluate.
    Has anyone run across this? And do you have any idea how I can prevent it?
    Thanks,
    Laura

    Hi Laura,
    Which version of MS SQL Server? What can happen is as Microsoft updates their MDAC ( Data Access Component ) it could change the way CR gets info and thus sends the SQL to the database. Exactly the cause is not know without using ODBC logging and crlogger to capture all of the DB API's CR is using. Crlogger is a logging component we created to help debug problems and is not shipped by default.
    You could try using OLE DB and the MS Native driver to see if that helps. MS SQL uses OLE DB as it's native connection method so using ODBC adds an extra layer on top of the client and things can get lost in translation... On the extreme there are also file system issues where network and hard driver writes can flip a bit but those are impossible to detect and resolve. Other than what you have discovered, deleting and adding it back in.
    In any event I don't think there really is anyway to ultimately stop all errors due to so many third party dependencies. Sometimes they can be the cause from some other user making changes without your knowledge, not that I'm saying this is the case but in general it can happen.
    One new feature in CR 2010 and soon to be released the full CR Designer 2011 is they both have a new feature called Read Only Mode. That file type can not be modified at all by anyone or the system. May be a solution for you going forward.
    There are also third party tools like Source Safe that uses a Database to check in and check out reports and other things so you always have a back up.... but can be a pain to manage and set up...
    Thank you
    Don

  • Prevent Guest Account from Viewing Windows partition

    I recently created a guest account on my MBP. I did this so as to better secure my Mac in the event of theft. I have both a Windows and OS X partition on my Mac, and I have a firmware password so a thief would not be able to boot from Windows or an external disk. My account is password protected, so in order to use my computer, the person would be forced to log in to the Guest account, at which point Orbicule's Undercover would begin its work to help me recover my Mac.
    Now, I am concerned that the guest user can see my Windows partition on the desktop when logged in and could then access and/or edit those files. What can I do to prevent this?

    it's possible to cook up something that would do this but I would advise you not to waste your time. vast majority of thieves steal computers not to steal your data but to resell them. stolen computers are reformatted and sold within hours if not minutes of theft. a firmware password is no defense. it can be easily circumvented given physical access.
    (this fact is conveniently never mentioned by various antitheft software vendors)
    just google it up to see how.

  • HT1750 How do i stop downloads from one Admin account from going onto the other one?

    So there are two admin accounts on my imac, and one day i logged into the other persons account, and all my downloads were showing up in their folder, how do i seperate the two, so that what i download on the mac from my account is only visible on my account?? If you have time to answer this, i would really appreciate it!! Thanks

    ...granted they were in the Mac HD folder,
    You mean Macintosh HD, i.e., your boot directory?  That is one of the place (actually a little deeper in there) that I was alluding to about a folder common to all accounts.  But that is not the default and the only way that could happen is if you changed the default from ~/Downloads.
    You never said what browser you are using.  I'll assume it is Safari.  Open Safari's preferences, general tab, and look at the "Safe download files to".  Unless you have other reasons to place elsewhere set to Downloads in your home directory.  Given what you are describing it must not be currently set there and you must have changed it sometime in the past (maybe accidentially).
    If you are not using Safari every other browser has a similar preference (e.g.., FireFox preferences, general, save files to).

  • Xmonad - prevent web browser from going "fullscreen"

    Hi,
    is there a possibility in xmonad to prevent an application (in my case the web browser) from resizing to fullscreen when it's the only window on a workspace? I have a huge display and do not want chromium to resize to the full resolution. I've done a lot of searching on this problem (and I can't believe that I'm the only one with this issue) but didn't find anything about that. Maybe because of my bad English...
    As mentioned in the title, the WM is xmonad.
    Thank you very much.

    Well, you could write a manageHook that tests if it is the only window on the screen, and if it is, changes the layout, or floats the browser with a spesific size

  • How can I prevent the softKeyboard from going full screen in landscape mode on mobile app?

    When I put an Input TextField on stage in an ActionScript Mobile project and click on it, the softkeyboard comes up but behaves differently when in portrait or in landscape.  In portrait, the softkeyboard comes up and allows me to edit my field without hiding.  In Landscape, the softkeyboard goes into fullscreen mode and I can no longer see my app in the background.  I would like for Landscape mode to bring up the softkeyboard but not overlay my app with a text area.  Is there a way to configure this?

    My app runs in landscape and I hated the default Android behavior so I used a heavily customized virtual keyboard instead. It's a bit slow but it works:

  • How do I prevent an email from going to bulk mail

    I have one individual that sends email to me, and their email always goes into BULK mail. I have added them to my address book, but they still are going to bulk--and I miss them or respond late. How can I get that email address to go to inbox?

    I'm not sure what you're referring to, then, as there's no standard IMAP mailbox called "bulk". That could be a junk mailbox by another name, provided by your e-mail provider. If this is happening with your company's e-mail server, you should talk to your company's tech support folks about this issue. It certainly doesn't sound like an issue with Mail, unless this "bulk" mailbox is one that you created, and are using a mail rule to move messages into.

  • Is it possible to prevent my iPod from going silent when locked?

    The reason is that I use HwBrowser to download mp3 files which are not available as podcasts, but when I listen to them, I need to keep my iPod awake all the time or the sound stops. Now it wasn't always like that, I used to have no problem listening to files while the device is locked.

    Only if one of these programs will kick the iPod out of recovery mode, I doubt they will.

  • HT4515 Does turning off group texting prevent my replies from going out to the mass?

    I receive responses to group texts. How can i assure my responses do go to everyone else as well? Just turn off group texting?

    Hi Auntie_Em4!
    I have an article for you here that can hopefully help you understand group messaging a little further:
    iOS: Understanding group messaging
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5760
    Specifically, I believe this section of that article answers your question:
    If you send a message to multiple recipients without group messaging in use by the sender and all recipients, an individual message will go to each recipient using either SMS or MMS. Responses to these messages will be delivered only to the original sender in seperate messaging threads.
    Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

  • Is there a way to temporarily prevent my phone from locking / sleeping?

    I'd love a way to temporarily prevent my phone from going to sleep -- like when I'm making a recipe and don't want to keep entering my password, etc., every time I check the next step. Is there an app I could turn on / off that would block the sleep / lock feature? I did some searching and found something called SleepDepriver or Sleep Depriver, but it seems to be available only for a jailbroke phone. I'd rather not do that. Anyone know of an app for a regular iPhone?

    Here's a hint.  If the only app you can find to do what you want requires the iPhone to be jailbroken, then there are no legitimate Apple-approved apps to do what you want, and there's a very good security reason related to why.
    Is it really that long of a process?
    1. Tap Settings.
    2. Tap General.
    3. Tap Autolock.
    4. Tap Never.
    If there was an app that allowed this, how would it go?
    1. Tap the App.
    2. Wait for it to launch... (Preinstalled apps almost always launch faster than third-party apps)
    3. Tap whatever option to disable the auto-lock.
    You're literally talking about a few seconds.  I understand your point about wanting an 'easier' way to do it... but I just don't agree that there's any level of inconvenience, nor that a third party app would make it easier or faster.
