Prevent movie Ending on black screen?

Any thoughts on how to get this video that I encoded with the
CS3 video wizard to stop playing on the last image frame on the
movie instead of on the black screen? In QuicktimePro, the movie
ends on the last image as it's supposed to end.

In that case, it seems like one of the display hardware connections or display itself went bad. To be better if you could try connecting it to monitor or get it checked from local computer shop or HP service center.

  • .Mov shows only black screen

    Hey Guys and Gals,
Installed Mavericks yesterday and so far very happy. I am a freelance cinematographer/editor and prior to the upgrade I had some footage from a client that was in .MOV format, codec I can't remember but now the system doesn't play these files at all, Quicktime says converting and says a .mov is not supported. Also I get only black video in Adobe Premiere. Any ideas?

I got same problem with h264 exported by ADOBE Premiere Pro, and my soundman cannot play it on his MAc it gives a black screen. But he can playback other h264 with similar specs, but that that were made with Sorenson 3.

  • Mov videos show black screen after latest update (idvd, iweb)

    Hi MacUsers,
I am facing a severe problem after updating my MacBook Pro (Mac OS X 10.6.8) with iDVD 7.1.2 and the iWeb Update. I opened a keynote'09 presentation and encountered that most videos do not show up or just show a black box. Then I tried to open the original mov videos with QuickTime Player 10 and 7 but also black screen. Everything worked perfectly before the update. Any ideas how to solve the problem? It is urgent because I have to give a presentation tomorrow. By the way, using VLC works fine, but this does not help me with keynote. Thanks for any answers.

Here is a comparable problem described in an older thread:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2259769
It seems that there is still a problem with QuickTime. All other players such as MplayerX, VLC or mediAvatar can handle the mov videos (Apple Motion Jpeg A). Is there a solution?

  • All of a sudden no videos (movies) just a black screen

    Greeting!
I'm not a happy camper right now. One day Tuesday my iPod was working fine and the next all I get is a black screen when I play videos (movie and music videos).
I've been through the cycle of resetting the iPod a few times. I've gone into diagnostic mode and it passes every time!
I have not added anything since July 17th. So I don't know what's up! I did find this thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2463229&tstart=0 were people are making the same complaints.
IDK I'm almost afraid to take it to an apple store for what they'll tell me. It's like taking your used car to the deal only for them to tell you that the repairs would cost as much as a new car. Follow me here? I love my iPod though! =( It's just to quirky that this is happening to a lot people at once.
And yes .. it's ALL my video. Some of these things I've had on there for well over a year and they've worked fine all this time.

Bump! Come on .. noooobody has had this issue yet? Hard to believe!

  • How do I keep a completed video from running on past the end, showing black screen?

My completed Premiere Elements 9 video does not end where it should, it runs on for another five minutes - showing black screen. Do I need to place an end marker to stop the video or change a setting? This has not happened on other videos I've created.

    Steve,
You were right. There was a straggler lurking out there. I deleted it and was able to get the Work Area Bar to snap back to the correct video length.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
If you upgrade to Windows 8 (install in UEFI mode) and apply the posted BIOS update then you should be able to get to video card to work.
Be sure to create a set of the external HP recovery media before installing a new operating system.

  • CP5 - W7 - Movie not loaded - Black Screen

    Hi all Captivaters,
For the first time in my life I experienced this problem.
A caprivate priview/publish can not load its own swf.
A totally normal project, among several other projects with the same settings as all projects I have can not suddenly load?
I searched the forum, but could not find any other captivater with the same problem.
I am willing to send my project to captivate "central" support if they want to investigate, and are happy for all tips I can get.
Below is what I can se if I preview (F12) or publish to a LMS or publish to desktop or publish as an EXE (Media).
Some settings that I think could be valuable to know.
    Setting 1
    Setting 2
    Thank you in Advanced
    // Daniel

Aktually, this seams to be a bigger issue than a single project!
All my projects are black, and I wonder if it has to do with the latest Adobe AIR update....
everything worked fie yesterday, and at the afternoon we both said yes to the prompted install.
Are there any known updates or bugs that creates this problem?

  • TS3173 why my bootcamp installation still end with black screen?

i have gone all the steps, but I have a problem with the installation that says "the image is un recognize" or something like that...need help, really need your help. please help ny
    <Email Edited By Host>

your image was an ISO burned to DVD or USB but not at slowest burn speed (a must!).
Otherwise... not sure as your description of your iMac and Windows lacks anymore details.

  • When I call someone, after the conversation is ended, a black screen appears.

If anyone knows about this problem, please share it with me.
    Thanks.

Has it ever worked?  Hold volume down (-) while pressing power button.  That takes you to BIOS (CMOS setup).  Follow the menus for Windows reinstall.

  • My ipad 2 turnes to black screen with the apple icon in the middle, it just hanged and i have to restart it?! so why this is happening ?! is there is an error or something i can do to prevent doing this ?!

my  new ipad 2 turnes to black screen with the apple icon in the middle while using it or if i just left it locked for a while, it just hanged and i have to restart it?! so why this is happening ?! is there is a productio error or something i can do to prevent doing this ?!
Appreciate responding as soon as possible.

No, it's definitely not normal. Your User's Guide recommends a series of troubleshooting steps to go through when your iPad is misbehaving: As you're already in effect doing the first of the main steps, a Restart of your iPad, and that's not curing it, move on to the next .. a Reset.
To do this, press and hold both the Home and the Sleep/Wake buttons for about 10-12 seconds, until the display blanks and the red Power Off slider appears. Continue holding the buttons until the slider disappears, replaced by the black screen and white Apple logo.
This shows your iPad is starting to reboot. Release the buttons and allow the process to continue until the Lock screen appears again, then slide the slider to complete the process.

  • Black Screen ending/finishing a Presentation

Hello! Something is making me very mad. I use Keynote to create movies to use inside my interactive books.
I create a small animation with music using Adobe Flash and exporting as .mov. So I open Keynote, use a small picture as background and paste the movie created by Adobe Flash.
So I export movie again, now using Keynote.
At the end of the movie created by Keynote, we have a black screen during seconds. Necessary import again, using iMovie and cut this part.
Why Keynote don't have an option as "Finish the presentation after the end of the movie included"? Simple as that!
    Someone knows a better solution?

At the end of the movie created by Keynote, we have a black screen
Does your original video file contain black at the end?   I can't replicate this black in the video when exporting.
    My Method
1   open new project in Keynote
2   place video on slide, the video has no black at the end only picture
    3   export > Quicktime
video plays with no black at start or end
Another important limitation: Keynote Don't permit any audio management - as fade out, for example.
Keynote has no facility to add a fade out audio, you will need to do this when creating the original video.

  • Export to MOV adds 4sec of black screen?

So I exported my Keynote files to MOV format and it just adds a 4 sec of black screen at the end. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Settings were Fixed Timing (5s for slide, 2s for build), no repeats, no enter full screen.

Is this a custom video size or the standard FLV output size?
Most likely, the custom size is the issue.
Do you get the same result if you use the default output size?

  • I cannot get itunes to play certain tv shows all i get is a black screen and the timer does not move what should i do?

I am trying to play a season on my computer but it will not play. The timer does not move and all i get is a black screen. Should i just repurchase the season.  the season does play on my ipod.

    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, and 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Use the steps to troubleshoot security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See the steps under the heading "Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store." If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

  • I upgraded some things and Quicktime stopped playing MPEG-2 movies (black screen)!

I upgraded some things and Quicktime stopped playing MPEG-2 movies (black screen)!
I need help, I was ending a project and now it just plays black!
    I have quicktime X.
    HELP! PLEASE!
    thank you.

Quicktime was working fine, I am not sure what Quicktime it was. I upgraded Java, I am not sure if I upgraded Quicktime. After that all quicktime movies with "MPEG-2 Video, Linear PCM, Timecode" codecs started playing black with audio in the background. iMovie was not used. Thank you, I am beyond desperate and I am starting to think no one can help me with this.
Then I am not sure how your created the MPEG-2/PCM MOV files. Files not imported via the MPEG-2 Import codec would normall remain in their long GOP compression format which it not edit compatible in QT based video editors. Those that are imported via the codec to make them edit-compatible then need the codec for proper playback in QT based players/editors.
Since you now say that "Quicktime is working fine," am I to assume that it is After Effects that is playing "black" screen videos and that the files play fine in the QT players? Since you also mention the files are time coded, am I to assume you used FCP or some other app to import the files (which may use the same sort of import workflow) or am I to assume it is the timecode data itself that you feel is now causing the problem. In either case, a Java update may have been a security update that is now causing your current issue by disallowing access to the required playback component for some unknown reason which Apple is unlikely to divulge if it refers to a software security risk.
If problem is general on your system, then do you have a short sample file that you can upload for testing purposes on my Snow Leopard system? At the very least, this may confirm if the problem is general to all updated platforms or local to your individual system and/or user account.

  • How do I end video so its a small file, and not 15 minutes of black screen?

How do I end the video? Meaning - I want to do a very short video for my website, only about 15 seconds long, but when I finish editing, hit Share, put it into a quicktime web format, what comes out is 15 seconds of my video, and then about 15 minutes of just black screen - which makes the file HUGE. I just wnat a short, small file. So...what do I do to end it on the short side?

    Hi
How did You edit Your movie:
Can it be so that You added audio/sound that is about 15min.
Then click so that You see the three audio tracks.
Select the audio that reach out to the right from where the video ends (track 2 or 3)
Put the playhead on the end of the video clips (track1 end)
Now select audio on track 2 or 3
    cmd-T will cut the audio
click elsewhere and then select the audio that reach out to the right
    delete or cmd-X
    alt.
Select what you'll want in the movie
Go to Export as QuickTime and select "selected cips"
Now You'll get a QT.mov that should only cont. what You want.
    Yours Bengt W
