Prevent Overlaps stays checked

For some reason, I can't turn off the "prevent overlaps"
check box in the layers window. Well, I can, but it's checked again
as soon as I click back into the preview window, so I can't
position nested divs inside each other at all. It didn't use to do
this, and now I'm back to pixel counting to manually move these
divs around.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Maybe you need to rethink using layers altogether. They are
troublesome for
those inexperienced in their use, particularly when it comes
to putting text
content into them. To find out more about them, go here -

  • Has anyone solved the Outlook .dll not staying checked for sync?

I have tried reinstalling everything and updating everything I know to update. When I start outlook 2003 that second .dll still gives me a runtime error. So I have to manually check it every time I want to sync.
Thanks for any tips out there.

Thanks. I should have stated it isn't disabled. It just crashes at launch. It tries to start but just won't stay checked.

  • ICloud and iTunes, cannot get the check boxes to stay checked under  preferences for iTunes to keep automatic downloads for iCloud, how can I fix this?

When using my iPhone and Macbook with iTunes, I cannot get the checkboxes to stay checked in iTunes to use the automatic downloads for iCloud.  It is so frustrating. I check box them and hit ok under store preferences for iTunes, and when I go back in, they are unchecked. I am so excited to use iCloud with my iPhone downloads and it is not working, if I can't get it to work with this, I am never going to get it to work for documents.  Please help.

Hey man. Did you ever get a solution to this problem? I spent an hour on the phone with AppleCare yesterday, and am going to have to call them back when I get home from work today. It's driving me bonkers!!

  • Show itunes in the cloud purchases won't stay checked

For months now, when I open iTunes the option "show itunes in the cloud purchases" won't stay checked.  I have to restart, sign out and sign back in and then the option only shows up half the time.  This is VERY frustrating.  What gives?!?

I think I restored a very old system and must install a newer itunes. Not sure how to erase this.

  • "Always insert attachments at end of message" doesn't stay checked? How to make it stick?

I check "Always insert attachments at end of message" but it doesn't stay checked over time. Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

Are you checking it while composing a new message? If so, that only sets it for that message. If you set it without a new message, it should stay set.
If it is still not staying set, it could be a problem with the Mail prefs.

  • Automatic Downloads Boxes Won't Stay Checked

I have Automatic Downloads setup for my iPhone, meaning the switches for Automatic Downloads of my Music, Apps & Books are set to 'ON'.
On my Retina Display Macbook Pro when I enter iTunes Store preferences and open the Store tab, Music, Apps & Books are un-checked.
So I check all 3 and press 'OK' to save my selections. The problem is when I re-open the Store tab the boxes have un-checked themselves. I try to check only one of them and press 'OK' but still, it doesn't save. I'm running OS X 10.8.1.
A few things I have done:
         1) Logged in and out of my iTunes account on my Mac
         2) Logged in and out of my iTunes account on my iPhone
         3) iTunes Preferences > Advanced Tab > Reset All Dialog Warnings: Reset Warnings
    What must be done?

Mea Culpa. I restarted my Mac and all is well. The boxes now stay checked and the phone syncs without a problem.

  • Set time automatic does not stay checked

Just as the title says, the check box in the system prefs will not stay checked. I "Lock" the settings and when revisiting the setting after a reboot, it is unchecked and the time is still wrong.
What do I need to do??
    Thanks

Is this after any reboot? Do you have Windows installed through BootCamp?
First thing to try is another user account. Create a new one if necessary and see if your settings save properly. You may want to turn off "automatic login" if that's currently active.

  • INFO tab items not staying checked or syncing

Ever since I updated to Software version 4.0, anything on the info tab does not work. All other tabs work fine.
When I first connect, the iphone sync's and backups ok. But if I try to check anything on the info tab... ie: Sync Contacts with... or Sync Mail Acounts from... as soon as I hit APPLY, the check boxes UNCheck and then it backs up, then starts to sync, then ends with the error box saying...
"itunes could not sync information to the iphone (my iphone) because a sync session could not be started."
Although all other tabs work fine, stay checked and sync ok.
    Anyone else seeing this?

Does anyone know if there is already a topic on this issue?
    Thanks.

  • Why won't 'Transform Pattern Tiles' stay checked?

It seems as though having this option in the Preferences unchecked is the default.  I work with pattern tiles a lot and I ALWAYS want them to scale and move etc... with the object they're applied to.  Every time I open an old file (from a previous version of AI where this option was checked) or start a new file, the option is unchecked, and I've really messed up some art when I've edited without realizing my pattern tiles aren't following along.
How do I make this option persistant? It's driving me crazy that I always have to go in and check the damn little box before I can make any edits.
BTW, I'm using AI CS6 through the cloud, so I should be all up to date.
    Thanks

OK- I don't get it.  It seems to be working the way it's supposed to right now.  Since I wrote here last, I've been opening old files and opening new documents, and the box stays checked.  I've re-started Illustrator then opened old files and new documents and it's stayed checked.  I re-started my computer then started Illustrator and opened old files and new documents and the box has stayed checked.  This is how it's supposed to be- so now I can't figure out how it has gotten unchecked in the past.
I do mockups of my company's pajamas and use pattern tiles to represent the pattern on the pajama fabric.  The size of the pattern compared to the pajama as a whole is very important, so I NEVER deliberately turn 'Transform Pattern Tiles' off.  I ALWAYS want it on.  I've only ever checked the box to turn it back on when I've noticed that my pattern tiles aren't behaving the way they should.  I've been using CS6 since last November (older versions of Illustrator for years before that), and have had to keep checking the box time after time with this version.  And right before starting this thread I had just opened a new document, applied a  pattern tile, and noticed it wasn't behaving properly.  So I checked Preferences, and, sure enough, 'Transform Pattern Tiles' was unchecked.
I haven't had any other problems with Preferences- no crashes, nothing else resetting or anything that I've noticed.  Maybe there's something in my workflow that's causing it that I don't know about.  I just tried changing the Profile when opening a new document back and forth between a preset like 'Print' and 'Custom' (by changing the default Units as I sometimes do), and the box is staying checked the way it's supposed to.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I guess I'll keep checking to see if I can narrow it down.
    Thanks for the replies.

  • Constraint that prevents overlapping

    Hi all,
Can I write a trigger on a table that prevents overlapping among period dates when insert or update?
    For example:
    Table1
    Col1 number,
D1 date, -- start date of a period
D2 date, -- end date of a period
if data in the table are
    1 1-1-05 30-1-05
    2 1-3-05 31-3-05
    then
the following insert will fail because it overlaps with period of first row:
    3 3-1-05 10-2-05
the following insert will fail because it overlaps with period of second row:
    3 20-2-05 10-4-05
whears the following insert will succeed it won't overlap with any of existing rows:
    3 2-2-05 10-2-05
I hope to find any kind of solutions that can be implemented in the database side.
    Thank in advance.

  • Preventing disabling of check box - item okay in MIGO

    Dear all,
In the MIGO transaction - during goods receipt for subcontractor material, when the item (incoming) is checked as item okay - automatically the child material (Material sent to subcontractor) is also activated thereby to enable 543 movement.
Unfortunately some of the users are disabling the check box (for the material sent to the subcontractor). This prevents depletion of stock from the subcontractor but inflates the stock of the incoming material.
Is there any way - either by authorisation check to prevent users disabling the check box or other methods?
Experts suggestion is required in this regard.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Prevent App Store checking for updates in non-administrator accounts?

Once upon a time, software could only be installed from within an administrator's account. But with Mountain Lion software can be installed from within a "standard" account, as long as you enter the admin's name and password. And software update alerts from the App Store (and other vendors) now show up within standard accounts.
Is there a way to prevent the App Store from checking for software updates when a standard account is active? One of my users is almost totally computer illiterate; the update alerts completely confound her. Also, if the alerts are ignored in a standard account, they do not show up in the administrator's account until several days later -- or at all.
I'd really appreciate any help you can offer!

Thanks so much for checking, Carolyn. Unfortunately this workaround forces the App Store to check for updates in standard accounts: exactly what I'm trying to prevent. From what I can tell by searching, people seem to like this new behavior. I want it gone.

  • How can I prevent Firefox from checking whether Adobe Flash is up to date?

I just updated Flash a week ago and already Firefox is prompting me to replace the update with the message "Firefox has prevented the outdated plugin Adobe Flash from running on" (etc.) How can I prevent Firefox (I'm using version 35.0.1) from running this check forever?

"Add-ons" is a mis-leading term, regarding what appears in the Add-ons Manager tab. "Addons" includes Extensions, Search Engines, Themes (Appearance), User Scripts, Styles, and Services - all of which the "Updates" can be controlled by Firefox preferences. "Plugins" are shown in the AOM too, but unlike the others, Firefox has no control over updates for Plugins. As James mentioned, Plugins aren't installed within Firefox as the other categories of "Add-Ons" are - and updates are controlled by the application that installed the Plugin that Firefox uses from each application's own set of folders or wherever in Windows files the Plugin is placed by the installer.
IMO, the biggest problem with Flash is that it is set by default to only look for an update once a month. So when Adobe updates Flash multiple times a month (3 "updates" in January alone) the Flash updater can'r catch each update as it occurs, or even within an acceptable "window of time". A user might "fall behind" as many as 3 new version releases quite easily.
As far as clicking to "Allow" each video when you're behind a version or two with Flash, at least Mozilla does a "soft block" and permits you to "Allow" - a "hard block" would make it impossible to use Flash at all. And "yes". Mozilla ''can do" a "hard block" when necessary.
In conclusion, Flash is a dying technology, which deserves to be buried. It is too "exploitable" by the "bad guys". All the recent "updates" are for security patches for fixing "holes" in Flash and stability fixes to an old application that "has seen better days" (like 10 years ago).
HTML5 Video looks like the future. Use it where you can, like at YouTube which gives you a choice for many videos they host - but you you need to enable that feature in Google preferences or all you're liable got get is Flash videos. With other websites, their users need to tell them that they want HTML5 videos only.

  • Can't prevent the addon checker from installing on DL even though I uncheck the box so I cannot do updates, help please.

I finally decided to give ver 21 a chance. I did not use the help option in the browser but came directly to the Mozilla site and did the download from there. I chose the custom install and accepted the choices until the screen with the check box for the auto-maint. stuff. I do not want it and never have and have always unchecked the box and all went fine.
This time no matter what I try, I cant prevent it. I finally had to roll back using system restore. I can not figure out out to turn this thing off once it down loads and I just wasted another couple of hours getting a usable version of Firefox back in place.
I would like to update, but I am not willing to go through this again. Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Chris L.

I did the install in the default folder- and have done upgrades this way for years.
What happens is after doing the update, when I first click to open a Firefox browser window, before it opens I get a pop-up that says it is checking to see if my add-ons are up to date. After several seconds it then says they are and it closes.
Somewhere in the past when this feature started to appear, it did so automatically if I did an update through the help page link. That is why I refuse to use it. It did not respect my choices as using it always returned that dang add-on stuff. Plus it never asked if I wanted it nor did it offer the maint. box option.
What I used to do was use Explorer (not IE) on XP to get on the net. First I would delete Firefox, leaving my info. Then I used Explorer to go to the Mozilla site and downloaded Firefox as if it were my first time. Then I unchecked the box using the custom install route, the new version installed and the add-on thing never happened.
I can't do the Explorer trick in Win 7 and I don't let IE be functional on my system. So I just went in the front door, clicked the install for Firefox and went the custom route, unchecked the box and got the dang add-on checker back,
So what I did this time was to save a download of version 20.0.1 from the rollback site I have used over the years instead of installing. Then I uninstalled Firefox, keeping my info, rebooted the PC and ran the download. When I did, I unchecked the box as always and when done, the add-on checker was back anyway.
I finally had to do a system restore and and got version 20.0.1 back that way and am using it and no add-on checker runs. I am loathe to lose all my extensions or add-ons and settings that may be at risk doing a reset. I have been down that road before. I have been a Firefox user for a number of years now, it is the only browser I keep on my box.
However, I am not a fan of software functions that try to take decisions away from me. I am rarely a fan of anything that gets labelled or actually named as smart for the most part. I do not mind software to help others who don't care if it usurps their ability to decide, I do object to being forced to use it. All I want is the off switch for it.
It wasn't until I learned that two features included with ver. 21 I would not let on my system could be turned off that I was even willing to download the upgrade. And when I did, it took me a couple of hours to get back to a working version of 20.0.1 and rid myself of the add-on checker.
On light of the above additional detail, any ideas?

  • Is there a way to prevent Firefox from checking "work offline"?

If I open Firefox before I am connected to the internet or if I try to do something when I have been dropped from the internet "work offline" is automatically checked. It is easy to fix but annoying. Is there a way to turn off this function?

Create a new Boolean pref with the name network.manage-offline-status and set the value to false.
Right-click on the about:config page to open the right-click context menu and use "New > Boolean" to create a new Boolean pref.
    Name: network.manage-offline-status<br />
    Value: false
