Prevent priviledge 15 account from changing enable account password

Hi all. I would like to check which priviledge level i should assign a network admin which allows him to configure my firewall at all aspects except changing the password the default enabled account. Thks in advance.

Create a custom level (ie 14 would work) for him and remove the appropriate commands in AAA.
Hope that helps.

  • Is there a way to prevent an end-user from changing their own password?

All you guru's out there, I need your help. Is there a way to prevent an end-user from changing their own password? Is there a function or procedure I can create or what?

In this case, you do not want someone (whoever they are DBA etc) to connect as that
particuler user to change the password.Yes, but I wouldn't expect the users to[i] know that password. The connnect would be handled automatically, behind the scenes.
The clear implication of the OP's question and response was that users would not be allowed to change their own passwords. I'm guessing this is in response to a policy that says users mustn't have simple passwords like 123abc or mom. In such a scenario a better approach would be to apply regexp to a user's password to ensure it contains a mix of letters, numbers, punctuation, etc to achieve the desired level of complexity.
So questions, should not be regarded as daft Agreed, but the same is unfortunately not always true of business decisions. As the OP has told us not to ask we cannot know why they want to do this. Personally, I think a user's individual password should always be their responsibility; anything else strikes me as insecure. YMMV.
    Cheers, APC

  • How do I prevent other Mac users from changing my Airport Extreme Network Name and Password within the Airport Utility?

How do I prevent other Mac users from changing my Airport Extreme Network Name and Password within the Airport Utility?  My company is using an Airport Extreme in our office now and I want to prevent other employees from messing with the network/settings.  Is there a way to place a password on the settings to allow only the admin to access the network name and password?

Hi - you have will have to change the device passwords on all the base stations and then don't give them to anyone except the administrators and tell them not to save them on their computers that use the older versions of the Airport Utility - for the newer versions like the mobile apps, as soon as you enter the pasword it is saved and is visible in the advanced pane along with the network password - so if anyone gets a hold of your iPad or iPhone, they can edit the whole network - I have this same issue with my networks in the office and it is inconvenient but doable - I hope this helps

  • Prevent a BSEG-field from changing

    Hello,
How could I prevent a particular field from changing for an FI document?
I need the field to be fulfilled but, afterwards, its information should not be changed any more.
    Kind regards,

    Hi, Nagendra
I have just noticed it is not a BSEG-field but a COBL-field. Despite this, I have checked whether it is exluded in GB01 table and I found that it is not. However, COBL structure does not appear in the list of table fields for prerequisites and checks in validation, so I cannot use it.
Although it was available, what kind of prerequisite or check should I carry out?

  • Prevent Mac OS X from changing resolution

I have a Mac Mini connected to my Sony 46xbr8 HDTV, and every time I turn the TV off, Mac OS X changes screen resolution to what seems to be arbitrary one. Just now it switched to 1280x1024, screwed all windows up along the way, and even if I connect to it via a Remote Desktop and change the resolution back to 1920x1080 - the system menu remains 1280 pixels wide, and the rest of the space where the menu should be is empty.
Is there a way to prevent Mac OS X from changing the resolution (other than leaving my TV on at all times)?

So, is there no other way to prevent Mac OS X from changing resolutions, when the TV is off??? It wouldn't have been a problem, if it didn't change all open window sizes, but every time I turn on the TV - all windows become tiny...
I've installed Windows 7 in BootCamp on the Mac Mini, and God, it works SO MUCH BETTER than Apple's own OS on their own computer!!! It does indeed look like now Windows 7 "just works", and Apple's Mac OS X - "just doesn't"... So far it looks like Apple is losing it...

  • How to prevent 3rd party applications from changing FF settings (e.g. homepage)?

On Windows 7 (Firefox 15 Beta) i cancelled installation of an unwanted application, but it changed the firefox homepage and added a search engine. How can i prevent this from happening in the future - is there a firefox setting or are this changes entirely managed by windows?

For your current problem, you can use [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/] to revert these settings.
Unfortunately there isn't a real way to prevent this from happen. You can, when installing programs, make sure you read through every setting, and not install toolbars, search engines, etc. However, if the program is malicious they may not give you an options and will just install it anyway.

  • Is there a way to prevent the "task id" from changing automatically when a task is moved or inserted?

When moving a task in Project 2010 I've found task IDs also change.  This is not the desired result.  If a task is moved for whatever reason the task ID should not change.  It should be consistent to the task.  For example, I've created
a new project with five tasks as shown on the left below.
I've numbered the tasks to coincide with the task ID as originally created.  If I move Task 4 to be after Task 1 the moved task and all subsequent tasks are renumbered as shown on the right below.
This is not the desired result.  The expectation is the task ID is unique to the task when the task is created.  It should never change after the fact.  I view the task ID as the identity field for the task.  In database terms this means
    it NEVER EVER arbitrarily changes.
A similar problem occurs if a task is inserted between two tasks.  If I insert task 6 after task 2 the task IDs are renumbered as shown.
Again, the task ID should never have been arbitrarily changed.  This creates a referencing problem because task 6 should have had the next available higher task ID which should have been 6 and all the tasks after task 6 would not have been renumbered.
The only work around to this behavior is to create a custom number field called "Task ID" and manually assign numbers to each task.  This makes referencing the tasks easy when communicating with team members.  Using the built-in task
id as a reference risks the task ID being lost at any point and confusion for team members.
Is there a way to turn-off task ID renumbering when a task is moved or inserted?
Ideally any inserted task should be the next higher available task ID.
    Thanks

  • Preventing local admin from changing root password

Is it possible to prevent a local admin from changing the root password? I would like to set up a computer so that the user has admin rights, but cannot change the root password via a terminal shell to gain root access.

I can't provide you with details, but I'm sure that all you need to do is to edit the sudoers file. It needs to be edited with <visudo> when logged in as root in a Terminal. The location is </private/etc/sudoers>, but you don't need to know that when using <visudo>. From a first look I'd suppose you only have to uncomment the %admin line, but better get some more information. I never did this myself.

  • How to stop the computer from changing its local network name when waking up from sleep mode

How do I prevent a mac mini from changing its' network name automatically when it wakes up from sleep mode... It will wake up and display a warning that the network name is already in use and it changes its name to (n+1) name with number after it... I know that there is no other device with that name because the only other things on the network are 2 hard drives (one being used for time capsule) and a printer..
This is very annoying and needs to be fixed.... don't tell me to make the computer never sleep because that defeats the power savings settings under power management.

Go to System Preferences>Network>AirPort and delete your network from the Preferred Networks box. Reenter your network information. Make sure that AirPort is the topmost listed interface when you Show Port Configurations. Apply the changes and Restart. Does it work now?

  • I am using MS XP Professional Ver. 2002 Service Pack 3. I have created a Limited User Account for my nephew because he tends to experiment and screw up the computer quite often. I would like to know if there is a way to prevent him from changing any setti

I am the System Administrator of my computer. I have managed to limit most of what my nephew can do via general Windows functions. However, I need to prevent him from changing his Firefox Options (listed under the Tools menu). He has already changed items that leave my computer vulnerable and although I've explained to him that he should not change anything in the Options area, he continues to do it. If there is not a way for me to prevent him from changing anything in Options, then I have no alternative than to prevent him from using the computer at all. I hope it doesn't come to that.

''"...although I've explained to him that he should not change anything in the Options area, he continues to do it. If there is not a way for me to prevent him from changing anything in Options, then I have no alternative than to prevent him from using the computer at all."''
Maybe taking away his privileges will could teach him a valuable lesson------respect other people's property!

  • If I have multiple email accounts, how can I prevent one of them from sending email?

If set up multiple email accounts in Thunderbird, how can I prevent one of them from sending email, while allowing others to send?

    Simple answer:
do not use the email address when sending or replying or forwarding emails. Sending is not automatic, you have to generate the email and click on a Send button.
You could use an smtp server that will not allow sending using the incorrect server for the email address, so that it cannot send, but if you accidentally use the email address you may get an error message, but at least the email will not be sent. Do this here:
Tools > Account Settings for the mail account.
bottom right Outgoing Server - select one that will not accept sending using wrong email address
    OR
in Outgoing Server(SMTP) select the server you are using for that account
    click on 'Edit'
deliberately make an error in the server name - remove the port details etc.
So the details are wrong and cannot send.

Someone has hacked into my account and sending emails (iCloud) pretending to be me.  I've changed my icloud password.  Do i need to do anything else?

You should consider enabling two-factor verification on your Apple ID, to further protect it. Without doing that, it's entirely possible that a hacker who gains access to your account in the future could take control of your Apple ID away from you entirely.
You also should consider whether any confidential information might be stored in iCloud. If you have made the mistake of putting a list of passwords in the Notes app, for example, that list should be considered compromised, and all passwords should be changed (and removed from the Notes app).
If you used the same password as your old iCloud password for other accounts, you need to change the password on all those accounts.
You should also alert your contacts that your e-mail was compromised, so that they are cautious about trusting any attachments supposedly coming from you. Keep in mind that the spammer can continue to "spoof" your e-mail address on the From line of new e-mail messages, even without access to your e-mail account.
