Prevent/Remove Download Photos in slideshow
How do I prevent the onscreen "Download" option from appearing at the top of a photo gallery? Selecting None in the Inspector does not influence the way a gallery behaves.
Thanks
Make sure you have the newest version of iWeb, otherwise the following option won't be available:
While in iWeb on your photos page open the Inspector window. Click on the photos icon, under Photo Sharing is a drop down menu called Photo Downloading Size. Click "None" for each photo page you have. Save and Publish. This will eliminate the Download option from all your photo pages on your web site.
iWeb out of the box doesn't have the "none" option. I was stuck on this too, but I read elsewhere that it should be there and then realized the updates might take care of it and they did. Good luck

HT4858 How do you remove downloaded photo albums (from my computer) from my iPhone?
In the past, I've shared my computer's photo albums with my iPhone. How do I selectively remove some of those shared albums from my iPhone?
Same way you got the albums via computer, this time de-select before sync.

I downloaded photos from digital camera and now I want to delete some but when I hit the photos icon it only brings up pics with the only options being move or slideshow no trashcan or delete options available
You should be able to delete photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing -
I installed latest Aperture updates, and then downloaded photos and built new slideshow in Projects. Went to burn DVD, but iDVD will not read the new slideshow. Any ideas?
Without know how you exported the slideshow from Aperture and how you are using iDVD and what errors or messages you are getting then no, haven't a clue.

Sorry if this is a common question, but a search found no answers...
How the heck do you remove a photo from a slideshow? Easy enough to add photos, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to remove one.
The Edit->Cut item appears enabled, but doesn't actually do anything.
thanks,In the slideshow editing window, if you select the thumbnail and hit the delete key, it removes the photo. You can also remove it within the slideshow - while it's playing - by clicking the trash icon in the slideshow controls.

How do I remove a photo album i downloaded from my pc to my iphone?
How do I remove a photo album I downloaded to my new iphone from my computer? It is not letting me delete anything in the normal way. Is it because it was uploaded fomr my computer?
You unsync them using your computer, the opposite of how you got them on your phone.
you can't delete them directly from your phone. -
I try to open iphoto and it comes up with You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto. I have downloaded photo manager and it's telling me to update but it wont update...
iPhoto is Apple's included program to manage your photo's and pictures.
It receives updates over time with Software updates and new machine or iLife purchases.
When iPhoto gets updated or a newer version is used, it may alter iPhoto support files, but newer iPhoto versions usually always compatible with older files which it then updates.
If you used a newer iPhoto on your iPhoto support files, then they got altered to the newer format, older iPhoto versions can't read the older format.
Somewhere along the line you somehow got a older version of iPhoto on your computer, you need to fine the newer version of iPhoto (not this photo manager, sounds like another program)
Or somewhere along the line you used a newer iPhoto version (like on another Mac) and it altered the iPhoto support files on your older version of iPhoto.
So the key here is to find the newest version of iPhoto and use that to access your iPhoto support files.
If you didn't access your iPhoto support files from another Mac, then you should have the newer iPhoto version on your computer.
Once you find it, and get it in the Dock, you should remove the older iPhoto version from your computer to prevent this from happening again.
Lastly, if the newer version of iPhoto is somehow gone off your computer, you should be able to get a copy off the latest OS X install disk or iLife using a free program called Pacifist.

Then you need to check for updates for iPhoto in the program itself, the current version is 9.1.2 -
Been in the iMac world now all of 2 days. I'm glad to have USB capability. I downloaded photos from a Centron flash drive and now need to remove the flash drive. Do you eject flash drives on iMacs as we did on PC's? Can't find an answer in the support area. Thanks...
Yes. All external drives regardless of how they are connected must be ejected before they can be unplugged.

Problems downloading Photos from 8900 smartphone
Hi
Im having problems downloading photos stored on an SD card from my BB to PC.
Ive looked at the other posts and turned on mass storage accordingly.
When I connect my BB to the PC using the USB link, the BB informs me the mass storage mode is being activated and requests a password, which I enter.
However, the BB does not appear in the Devices list in the My Computer screen on the PC.
Does anyone have ideas as to the problem??
I have lots of photos on there, so want to avoid sending dozens of mails to get the photos off the BB.
Thank youHi stuart_fraser,
Have you checked the Windows Device Manager to see if the BlackBerry and/or Mass storage device shows up? Also, the BlackBerry may show up in "My Computer" as a removable storage device.
Thanks

I also recently installed Norton 360, but that was eliminated via Norton Help. They remoted in, removed Norton 360 and problem persisted - iPhone did not show on the "Computer" window, and no pop-up to download photos even with no antivirus installed. Norton help advised to uninstall and reinstall iTunes, which seemed a bit excessive. Any other fixes I can try before an uninstall and reinstall?
Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. Follow the steps in the article below for the specific error messages you have been receiving. If after following all steps the issue remains book an appointment at a local Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated.

Once I have downloaded an assortment of photos from my camera, I place them into separate folders according to the category I have named. In so doing, the photos are in the album, but remain in the import file which for some reason did not do so whenever I performed this task. What now occurs, is when I go to remove the photos in the imported file, it also removes them from the album.
I am confused with what I am doing to cause this occurrence. I used to perform this task successfully when in the import screen without losing the photos once I placed them in their respective albums.
Need help to sort myself out. I am a stickler for categorizing my photos according to the occasion. It makes it so easy to retrieve them whenever I want to send them to friends or to groups.
Hope I can resolve my confusion in what I am doing wrong.
Thanks!

I used to be able to sort my imported photos without the aforementioned occurrence. It appears to occur using a new camera.Thank you, Terence, for the information. I'm going to mull this over because what you have mentioned is rather abstract to my diminishing grey cells. When I returned to iPhoto, in the Photos' List, the photos I had categorized were in tact and none of the other photos were included.
Much for me to consider when importing photos and my placing them into folders but forget about 'trashing' what is in the Import file, because as you say, this is only a shortcut.
Again, thanks for shedding some light on my dimly lit understanding of iPhoto and its importing photos. -
How can I remove all photos and directories from iPhoto?
How can I remove all photos and directories from iPhoto as if it was a brand new install?
I am new to iPhoto and was unaware of how it works, honestly I still am a little confused as to when pics I am using 1/2 the time, some from iPhoto and some from MyPics.
Anyhow, I am looking to remove all photos from iPhoto because during the migration of all my photos from PC to MAC, somehow my timeline became messed up and all my photos that have been logged my dates since 1998 are now all messed up.
Although all my year folders are still in tact, IE 1998-2006, the subfolders and like pics are all intertwined somehow.
And when I search iPhoto for a given year, photos from 2,4, 8 yrs back show up in 2006.
Anyhow, I have selected and deleted all photos and folders within iPhoto, and then import the desired photos from MyPics, only to have the photos double up in the library. ( The old ones that should be deleted and the new imports)
I simply don't get it, they fill the trash and disappear when it's emptied, then reappear when iPhoto re-opens!
Can someone help????
I have completely reworked all my photos so that they are all in the correct folders outside of iPhoto, and now I want to import those and only those pics with that file structure.
IE Structure = YEAR > MONTH > DAY ( or if needed) > DAY/EVENTDo you want to remove the existing full sized image files also? If so then just drag the iPhoto Library folder from the Pictures folder to the Trash and empty it. But be warned you'll lose all of your image files.
You are dragging the files to the iPhoto Trash bin and then using the iPhoto->Empty Trash menu, right?
In copying your photos to myspace and then back the original capture date may not be retained and then either the created date or modified date will be used by iPhoto. If the files in the current library are the originals from your camera then those have the best chance of retaining the correct Captured Date. You can check that out by dragging the Originals folder from your iPhoto Library folder to the desktop and then trash what remains of the iPhoto Library folder. Then launch iPhoto and it will ask you to create an new library. Then import that Originals folder and it's subfolders by dragging it into iPhoto's open window. You'll keep the same rolls that was. The roll dates may change but you can check the captured date of the files by using the calendar in the Source pane.
You won't be able to keep your folder structure within iPhoto. Each outside folder will result in a roll with the same title as the folder. You'll be able to create folders in the Source pane to put albums inside. You can create a smart album to include all photos in a certain date range, line one month.
Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

How do I remove a photo from iPad air camera roll taken by the camera?
I took 2-3 hundred pics on my trip with my iPad mini and have downloaded them to iPhoto. How can I get rid of them on my iPad now...do I have to do it one picture at a time? When I first downloaded them iTunes asked if I wanted to delete them from my iPad and I foolishly said no. Am I now forced to do it them one at a time or is there a setting I am missing that will do it? They are using all of my memory!!

Cannot see downloaded photos in iPhoto library
I downloaded photos from my new camera into iPhoto. They are in the Library (can see them in package contents) but they do not appear in the library itself. How do I resolve this? Also the same situation with some downloads from earlier this year, with a different camera. (In was not able to use the migration manager for my new iMac as the HD died around the same time, so I brought photos in from a backup copy) Help would be appreciated!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Do you see any indication of the photos in iPhoto, i.e. a thumbnail or blank thumbnail, etc.? Do you see a folder in the library package with Import in the folder name?
Do you Twango?

I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
