Prevent SDM password prompt during Dynpro Deployment
I am getting prompted for a SDM password during application deployment. Is there a setting to prevent this from happening every time I compile my application in NWDS? Please provide steps if possible.
Thank you,
jpina
Hi jp,
It Depends on the version of NWDS, SAP-J2EE engine you are using,
In a newer Version EHP1, this facility of one time SDM password is maintained,
For the older versions, it is not maintained.

SDM password when running and deploying webdynpro application
Hi
I developed a simple webdynpro application, no eventing just displays text. I rebuild it and then 'run and deploy' application. While doing this it pops up with a dialog box asking for a SDM password.
Is this deploying correctly?
Any assistance is much appreciatedHi Dajee,
Yes it is deploying correctly. Give sdm as password it sould work if you don't have changed the default password of SDM.

No password prompt during fedora 10 install
Hello - I recently installed Fedora 10 for the sole purpose of installing Oracle XE (so I am completely new & inexperienced with both)
When I installed Oracle XE I was not prompted for any sort of passwords. I installed Oracle using the Fedora GUI by more or less clicking on these boxy looking icons (containers?) and the installation took care of itself. No prompts of any sort.
When the Oracle installation completed there was a new userid in Fedora (Oracle) for which I do not know what the password is. So I cannot log on a user 'Oracle'.
So if I log in as myself, under applications there is a new menu item called 'Oracle 10g Express Edition'. If I go into SQL*Plus it tells me I am not connected to any database. If I go to the Database Home Page I'm told that 'Firefox cannot establish a connection to server at 127.0.0.1'.
Can anyone advise me if I have this installed correctly and what are the next steps I should take to get logged in and establish a database?
Thanks! When the Oracle installation completed there was a new userid in Fedora (Oracle) for which I do not know what the password is. So I cannot log on a user 'Oracle'.So logon as "root" (or use "su -" from current session) and execute:
passwd oracleThis will set password for "oracle" user.
Did you execute "/etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure" after install?
Btw did you read documentation (install guide) for XE?

SDM Password issue and errors for Web Dynpro Deployment
Hi,
After checking on SDN with regards to SDM Password and issue, I wonder what is the REAL default password for SDM when deploying web dynpro application.
Some mentioned it's "sdm".
Some mentioned it's "admin"
If refer to documentation (from Sneak Preview SAP Netweaver 2004), it's "abcd1234".
Anyhow, it accepted "admin" for my case, but I got an error when I click on "Deploy New Archive & Run". Hope someone can help me on this error. The error message as below:
Nov 6, 2006 11:04:15 AM /userOut/deploy (com.sap.ide.eclipse.sdm.threading.DeployThreadManager) [Thread[Deploy Thread,5,main]] ERROR:

Another issue is, although i am not able to deploy successfully (not even once), but if i click on "Run", it will launch browser, and the web dynpro program is works. Problem is, it's the old version. It deosn't display the latest version.
Can any guru out there explain and provide solution?
Thanks in advance.

Error message sounds like "Administrators have the right to perform this operation". do you have admin rights? for deploying.
Check this thread once same problem but solved:

Can anyone tell me the sdm password needed to deploy a web dynpro appln
Dear Friends,
I am new to web dynpro. I have developed the first example appln given in the sap documentation. But there is a problem when i try to deploy and run it.
i am asked the sdm password. I have tried with the default password " sdm " but it doesnt work. The J2ee engine settings are fine i.e. all the three components are green. I am using the remote server with port 3601.
Can anybody please help me with the sdm pwssword. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks & Regards.
Saurabh.Hey Saurabh,
First of all some questions to your installation:
- What version of the Web AS are you using?
- Do you have access to the file system of that machine?
- Do you know who installed the system and can you grab the person?
- Is it a Java standalone or a Java + ABAP system?
To your questions (and please correct me if I'm wrong here...):
1) follow the path that I posted before. You probably have a standalone installation, so try <b>J2E</b> for SID and <b>JC01</b> for instance.
2) every SAP system is installed with a (in your landscape) unique System Identifier (SID). For a java standalone system the default is J2E.
3) the application server can be set up to have several instances (at least 2) for load balancing / clustering environments.
Check out <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/45/dc863f455f3417e10000000a114084/frameset.htm">this</a> link for an overview of the system landscape
4) if step 1 does not work, search for a folder SDM on the server box, there you have subfolders "program" and "root". The sdm.bat file is within the "program" folder.
Cheers,

How to change the Apple ID on my iOS Device
Settings > iTunes & App stores.
Tap your Apple ID, sign out then sign back in with new AppleID.
Settings > Facetime.
Tap your Apple ID, sign out then sign back in with new AppleID.
Settings > Messages.
Turn off iMessages, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on. Go to 'Receive messages at' and then tap your Apple ID. Sign out of the old ID, then sign in with new Apple ID.
Settings > iCloud.
Delete the account (make sure to KEEP the information on your phone), then turn it back on with new Apple ID.
Also, delete any apps that were downloaded with the 'old' Apple ID, then reinstall them with your 'new' ID. -
How to prevent the regular password prompts when watching a movie on my MacBook Air?
Hello everyone.
I recently started renting movies from the iTunes store and watched them on my MacBook Air since I don't have an appleTV. (In fact on my TV connected via HDMI cable to the MacBook but I think that doesn't change the cause)
Now every now and then a automatic password prompt kicks in overlaying the movie, so I have to stand up each time and type in the administrator password in the middle of the movie. This happens maybe about every 30-45 mins. Needless to say this is extremely unpleasant when watching a movie. Unfortunately I cannot tell you which programm causes the prompt since I always close all other programms other than iTunes.
Is there a way to temporarily prevent all automatic password prompts?
I hope you can help me,
Greetings jonezdotcomThis is taken from Mac Help. It should guide you in solving your issue.
Changing the way users log in
You can require users to enter a password to log in to your computer, or you can turn on automatic login, which automatically logs in a specified user each time the computer starts up.
Automatic login is useful if you’re the only person who uses your computer, and the computer is always in a safe and secure place. If you have more than one user account on your computer, or if you’re concerned about the security of information on your computer, you should require users to log in with a password. Automatic login is not available for accounts that are using FileVault encryption.
If you require users to log in, you can change what they see in the login window. You can show a list of users with a picture next to each name and a place to enter the password, or require users to enter both their user name and password.
To change the way users log in:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Accounts.
Open Accounts preferences
Click the lock icon to unlock it, and then type an administrator name and password.
Click Login Options.
Do one of the following:
To require users to log in whenever the computer starts up, choose Off from the “Automatic login” pop-up menu.
To have the computer automatically log in to a particular account when the computer starts up, choose the account from the “Automatic login” pop-up menu, enter an administrator password, and click OK.
IMPORTANT: Automatic login allows anyone to get immediate access to your computer simply by restarting it. If you turn on automatic login, make sure the computer doesn’t automatically log in to an account with administrator privileges.
Next to the ”Display login window as,” select how you want the login window to appear:
To have users select an account from a list in the login window, select “List of users.”
To require users to type their user account name and password, select “Name and password.”
To show each user’s password hint, select the “Show password hints” checkbox.
If you turn on automatic login for yourself, the computer opens your account when it starts up. If you log out, other users see a login window to log in to their user accounts.
The Login Options pane of Accounts preferences
Use the Login Options pane of Accounts preferences to change the way the login window behaves to be more secure or set up the way users will log in to their accounts
PREFERENCE EXPLANATION
Automatic login
To have the computer automatically log in to an account at startup, choose the account from the pop-up menu. This is less secure than requiring users to log in, since it allows anyone to use the computer just by turning it on.
To require users to select an account and enter a password to log in, choose Off from the pop-up menu.
Automatic login is not available for accounts that are using FileVault encryption.
Display login window as
Select “List of users” to have users choose their accounts from a list in the login window.
Select “Name and password” to require users to type their name and password in the login window. -

Asking for SDM password when deploy locally
Hi,
when i am trying to deploy it asking for the SDM password. I have installed NWD workplace in my pc locally. still i am unable to deploy and run the program.
please help me, and suggest me steps to get rid of this problem.
Cheers,
karthikEven if your project is not on DTR, ie. local developement you require J2EE sever to deploy your applicaltion.
Go to windows>preferences>SAp J2ee wngine-->set the sever and port.
If its your local WAs set localhost and port 3601.
when you will delpoly the Application, it will ask you for SDM password. -

Freezes on startup during password prompt
Whenever I restart my computer it boots normally until the password prompt comes on. It still looks fine until i go to enter in a password.
As soon as i begin to enter a password the color spinning wheel appears and will start spinning forever. I usually have to turn it off and then turn it back on again.
Then sometimes on restart it will just go to a gray apple screen with the apple logo and hte spinning progress dial. This can also go on forever.
After many times of restarting the computer it will work. But i just switched to a mac and was wondering if there is anything I might be doing wrong or anything I should do to fix this.
Thanks
MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.10)There's no reason not to take it in or call Applecare on the phone--I have found them to be very good at walking you through problems and determining if it is just a matter of setting preferences or if there is something actually wrong.
If you have access to an Apple store, I think they have free classes which will teach you how to use your computer (at least our Apple Store does). You might find this helpful if you are new to Macs.
Good luck! -
