Prevent XI from converting & #163; to pound character

The requirement is in input XML file & #163; comes..by default in output file xml it is converting the above grouped of characters to £ sign.
how do I retain & # 163; in output xml file without writing any adapter module for solution

I do not see a chance. It seems that all & #xxx; are replaced by their character equivalent.
You have to replace the £ by a Java mapping or adapter module after the graphical mapping again.

I have created a pdf in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro that has fillable forms. I have a submission button at the bottom that sends completed form via email directly to me. When I receive the forms they come in an fdf file format. I've done something simple to the form before within Acrobat 9 Pro that prevents it from converting to the fdf file but I cannot remember how I did it! I did not use any scripts or anything that kept it as a pdf once submitted/sent.
I just need help remembering a SIMPLE few steps to the settings of the Acrobat file that prevents the form from submitting an fdf file.

How do I prevent preflight from converting my dotted lines to solid lines?

I am working on a booklet and at the end I have a notes page with dotted lines to keep the weight down, but when it goes through preflight, it changes my dotted line to a solid line that is too heavy. Is there any way to prevent this? I have to convert the files to B+W so I tried using Digital printing B+W and convert to grayscale, but both turn the dotted line to a solid line. If I use a color mode in the preflight, it won't change the line to solid, however then I can't get everything else to black and white. What do I do!?

I've been giving HD videos in MTS format and convert the for editing in FCE. Looks good in the program, but when I export the finished film, quality had been noticeable diminished. Is there any way to prevent FCE from lowering the output quality?

Username automatically converts to lowercase, preventing me from logging in.

When I enter my username to login, Firefox automatically changes it to all lower case, so instead of FLastname, it becomes flastname. This prevents me from logging in, since the username is case sensitive. This did not happen until I upgraded to 3.6.11 from, I assume, 3.6.10. For reference I'm using Os X 10.4.11

How can I prevent Bridge from altering my photos?

HELP!!!
Within the past few days my Bridge CS4 program has been making my life miserable. I had been utilizing the program to batch photos from my extensive photo library, rename them, sort them (i.e., change sort/ordinal number), and the like without any difficulty and then suddenly, after executing such processes my thumbnails turned completely white and would not open in Bridge, Photoshop CS4 Extended - much less anything else. I tried reopening them as .jpg's, .psd's, .tiff's to no avail. I went into properties on each photo and checked the "open with" tab, and it noted that the photo was not recognized. I had some moderate success opening them with Quicktime Picture Viewer, but converting them back to a Bridge readable format (i.e., their original state) proved impossible. Having noticed that Quicktime had hijacked nearly my entire photo opening process, I uninstalled it in the hope that it would solve the problem. It didn't. I then went into Bridge and Photoshop CS4 preferences to try and modify how photos were opened, and couldn't seem to find anything applicable. I did, however, increase the memory and cache allocated to each program substantially.
Last night I ran into more problems with Bridge. While scanning both photo negatives and prints into Bridge and saving them into various files, I encountered the same problem indicated in paragraph one. I tried scanning several of them a second time and succeeded; however, I had to save them to a different file and give them dissimilar names in .tiff format. In the process I found more than a dozen ways to spell "Mexico," "Tokyo," and "Ukraine"! They would not save as .jpg's or .psd's.
I use Windows Vista Home Premium SP1, have a Pentium 4 Dual Core (2.8) processor, 4 GB Memory, Nvidia GE Force 7600 video card (yes, the drivers are up to date), and Hewlett Packard Photosmart C7180 and C7280 printers for scanning. All of the photos involved are stored on a Maxtor One Touch 1TB Turbo auxillary hard drive.
Also, could anyone suggest how I can get the SD/MMC card reader on my PC to work?

seem to have helped other people with Bridge problems. I took your suggestion and gave it a whirl - all preferences were restored to defaults - and the problem continues. I get the feeling the problems lies with the program's interaction with Windows.
Having tried a few more things, I've found that I can move the photo shell (the inscription underneath the thumbnail states, "Window Shell Common") to my desktop and open it there with Photoshop (i.e., going through the song and dance of "open with" and clicking on the CS4 icon, where it opens up in RAW). I must then move it over to Photoshop CS4 and save it as a .jpg or a .psd. Unfortunately, after all this it still won't open in Bridge. By all appearances, Bridge somehow has become corrupted and I'm probably going to have to do a complete Photoshop CS4 uninstall and reinstall.
I've spent hundreds - if not thousands - of hours scanning into my system some 10,000 photographs of my travels (yes, they are backed up on discs), and Bridge should not be negatively impacting my ability to organize and manipulation them as is happening now. If the uninstall/reinstall does not resolve the problem, I'll be back on this forum for more suggestions.
As for the card reader issue, I'm well aware of the 2GB/over 2GB issue. I typically use a 4GB or more card in my camera. I can download fine through my HP 7180 and 7280 card readers, but my HP 1518n card reader is a different story. I'll work a little more on it, too.

Have you tried resetting your preferences by holding down the Ctrl key and starting Bridge? You will get a reset window, choose all 3 options.
The only thing I know about card readers is that there are 2 versions. One for cards of 2 gigs or less, and one for HD cards over 2 gigs. Make sure card and reader match.

1. Can't you do this by sending whole bytes instead of bits? It would make everything a lot easier.
2. The solution you have probably is not going to work as is, since Integer.toBinaryString does not pad with 0's. If you have to have the bits, you should do something like:

I am consuming a web-Service via client-proxy method. for this I've created the client proxy and called one of the methods in the class in the program.
After passing the input values (country Code) to the web-service I am receiving the result (country Name) in a varliable (string format) but, the format of the returned data is XML.
example:

IMP-69 can occur if you try to use an EARLIER version of IMPORT against an export (.dmp) file produced by a LATER version of EXPORT.
How about trying this:
Use the 8.1.5 EXPORT utility from Win2K to connect to your Solaris 8.1.7 database; then use the 8.1.5 IMPORT utility to import the file into the 8.1.5 W2K database.

Your ranges need to be in a Header Column, and your values in the second column, a body column.
Before you begin entering your ranges, set the Format of the Header Column to Text.
That will prevent the "5-9" entry from converting to a date.

I would suggest you change your file associations so that jpgs open in a program other than Acrobat. Assuming you have a Windows machine, just go to the Start, and search for "file associations" ... it's part of the Control Panel.
Scroll down to the file type jpg, and set it to open with whatever graphic preview or editing program you have that you want to use as the default. From that point on, when you click on a jpg, it should not open Acrobat and instantly try to convert it to a pdf.

Errors preventing X from loading

When i run startx, I receive two errors, which read:
(EE) Failed to load module "speedo" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) AIGLX: Screen O is not DRI capable
as best I recall, AIGLX is for ATI cards, and setting vesa to be the driver should prevent this from being an issue, which i tried.
I have no clue what speedo is, and i've searched here and on the rest of the al's great internet, and am yet to find what this is. I searched X.org an's wiki and got zero hits. How can that even be possible?
Im just trying to get X to work. Any suggestions will be appreciated and tried.

Well, although I can't remember having heard of the module "speedo" so far, I would try the following:
It it likely that X is trying to load this module because it finds a load command in the config file.
Open /etc/X11/xorg.conf in your favourite editor and look for a section called Module (Section "Module").
If there is a line in this section looking similar to Load "speedo", try to comment this line out.
(This is done with the '#' character (#Load "speedo").
Then try to restart the X server and look what happens. Because X is throwing another error with AIGLX it may be necessary to comment this line out, too (something like #Load "aiglx" or so).

Converting \u00e0 to appropriate character.

Dear Java folks,
I'm trying to import some Java source code produced on one system into another.
I have a zip file which contains some .java source files in which non-ascii characters have been converted to their equivalent Unicode string, for example:
String s1 = "\u00e0" ;
The original code looked like this:
String s1 = "�" ; <- that's an 'a' with an accent over it.
I'm reading the source code from a zip file using an InputStreamReader.
Is there any way to convert the "\u00e0" and other Unicode characters back into the correct characters as I read the zip entry?
fyi I'm running on WIndows XP and the original code is part of a Lotus Notes database. In Notes the characters look fine but when the code is 'exported' they get converted to \u00e0 by NOtes and there's not much I can do about that. Both the export and the import are running on the same computer.

However, the OP had lots of files (in UTF8 presumably) in Lotus.
When exported, Lotus turns the UTF8 into \uxxxx, which is very
hard for the OP to read on the screen.
So the OP wants to write a function that translates \uxxxx back into UTF8.
For example: whenever he sees \u05D0,
he would like to write out 2 bytes: 0xD7 and 0x90
(which is the UTF-8 encoding of the code point 0x05D0)
This way, when he loads the file in a text editor,
he would see the international character (rather than a obscure code like \u05D0)

How can an iTunes Match user prevent songs from being uploaded to the iCloud?

Has anyone who is currently using iTunes Match found a way to prevent selected songs in their music library from being uploaded to the iCloud. I have a number of audio files that are hour long mixes, but aren't quite large enough to run afoul of the 200MB size limit. I'd like to keep using iTunes Match, but would like to prevent it from trying to upload any of these larger files. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Another oddity I just discovered is that if I turn on wifi hotspot on my phone and connect my iMac to my phone's 3G service then iTunes on my iMac will stream music just fine from iTunes match (yes, the music was only in the cloud, not on my drive).
I've tried everything I can think of to get iTunes Match to play tracks over cellular.. including totally deauthorizing all my computers and devices, totally removing all tracks my itunes match in the cloud and re-scanning/uploading everything. Purchased new tracks, and they won't play unless they are downloaded. But they will play just fine when previeing them for purchase in iTunes app.
