Preview App Saved State Removal Doesn't Work

I'm having trouble with my Preview App in Mavericks. I evidently had too many windows opewn and it became unresponsive, so I had to use Force Quit. Relaunching opened all the previous windows and the problem was repeated. After searching the Communities, I learned that the Saved State folder for Preview should be deleted. Then, I couldn't find the Saved State folder, and, after more time searching, I learned it's hidden in Library of the Go menu (Thanks a lot, Apple). I trashed the Saved State folder for Preview, but nothing changed: It STILL opens up all the previous windows. I can't even wrap my brain around how this is possible!
The machine is a 2010 Mac Pro running Mavericks 10.9.1
Any help would be appreciated.

I was hoping to use Preview as a proper replacement for Acrobat but this is really aggravating. The zoom to fit only seems to use the horizontal Preview document space to determine the viewed file's fitment. Which of course is useless if you want to view the whole file in totality at the maximum space available. I simply want 100% of the viewable document area to maximize to the given space, not just 100% horizontal. As it stands there doesn't seem to be a way to do that other than using the scale field and just trial and error the percentage until you get the result...
Any tips, tricks, workarounds?

I have had the same issue for over a year, and it's very aggravating, as I used to use it all the time, and still need to, but it just won't work. It will work if an image is too large, but not when it's too small, and it take multiple "zoom ins", and then you can't get it to fit right! I don't know Apple hasn't fixed this key flaw.... No OS update yet, has fixed it.

Preview.app in Snow Leopard doesn't open some jpg files

Preview.app in Snow Leopard doesn't open some jpg files.
Preview does't issue an error message, it behaves as I did't try to open file at all.
These images could be easy opened in iPhoto, so files seem to be OK.
I couldn't attach one such example image to this message, it's exceeds 2mb limit, but courtesy to google image could be downloaded by the link https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B56gs1tsb9aNYjA2MDdmNzUtOWY3NS00ODg1LWIzZDAtYTA 5YzFjZmZjYjRh&hl=en_US.
What's that? Should I file a bug?

Unfortunately, it sounds as if your internal disk failed (hardware failure).
Things to try:
(1) Boot from your Apple Hardware Test CD/DVD, which sometimes is a separate disk or sometimes is on the original OS install disk. Run the tests, all of them, to see what is amiss.
(2) Reset PRAM as described in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379 . I don't think this is likely to help because even though your startup disk is not being selected, it seems that your internal disk is simply unable to be found or mounted, implying hardware failure more than software. But it's worth a try.
Probably time to take your computer in for repairs, either at the Apple Store or to an authorized Apple repair shop. Most likely they will simply replace your drive. You could also ask them to mount the old drive in an enclosure to see if files can be copied from it if you don't have a backup.

I have an AT&T M-Cell that gives 5 bars, got full-strenth wifi. Same wi-fi that my computer uses, that my Kindle uses. So not capacity issue. but my Internet on phone drops out continuously and frequently, any app that uses internet doesn't work at all. My Preview History in iTunes 11 doesn't work!! I am logged in. (I only have 1 iTunes account) I can check preview on my iPhone and iPad and it's fine. Even when I preview music in iTunes 11 while logged in, it won't show what I just listened to, but will show in my iPhone and iPad!!!
I trired switching to 32-bit mode. (just read online it worked), but didn't work for me, Please help!!! It's one of my favorite features and I can't use it!!

I had the same problem today. Previewed several songs on my Mac (Mountain Lion & signed in with Apple ID). Preview history of what I just played synced to my iPad 3rd generation and iPhone 4 (both IOS 6.0.1) ok but history did not show up in iTunes 11.0.1 ("You don't currently have any preview history"). Then previewed songs on my iPad. Once again, previews showed up on iPad and iPhone but not on Mac. I then cleared the Preview History on my iPad, which also cleared the phone.
I then previewed several songs on the iPad. WONDERS! Now the iPad previews are syncing to the Mac! I previewed several songs on the Mac and these previews now show up in my Mac Preview History, as well as the iPad and iPhone histories.
See if clearing all your History works for you!

In order to analyze your issue better, we need more detailed information.
Did you mean when you launch the Windows store app, the app can't start? Was there any prompt message or error code? Did this issue occur on all Windows Store app or specific one?

Using Mt Lion, I find that my trash removal doesn't work on any of my iMacs. (two iMac and one Mac Air)

Using Mt Lion, 10.8.3, I find that my trash removal doesn't work on eithe unlocked or locked files. I have tries manuelly unlocking files and even that doesn't work. The trash disposal goes through the motions of counting the files and, then, doing the file subtaction from the count and at the end, it starts to go into negative numbers and never stops. However, nothing has happened to the trash. What's going on and how do I correct it. I have tries clean installs of the operating system and still nothing changes.

Relaunch the Finder, then from the Finder menu bar, select
Finder ▹ Preferences ▹ Advanced
and uncheck the box marked Empty Trash securely. Try again to empty the Trash.

I'm trying to pay an app and my acount doesn't work with my payment method (credit card)

Last december I bought the iDraw app for iPad and the charge of my credit card doesn't work, my credit card is ok, but my iTunes account don't let put another type of credit card to do the payment for the app.

DELETING APPS
Touch the app and hold your finger down until all the apps start to jiggle. You will see a circled "x" in the upper left corner. Tap it to delete an app. When done press the Home button.
You cannot delete any pre-installed iOS app.
If there is No 'X' on any apps you have Downloaded... then check in Restrictions... Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps = Off / On
If the app is in iTunes, then you delete the app in iTunes (Select the App and Press Delete on your Keyboard). If you then sync with your iDevice, the app will also be deleted from your iDevice.

Annotating pdf documents in Preview - the text search feature doesn't work?

I'd like to annotate my pdf documents using preview. However, I realized the other day that as soon as I start annotating a document (with notes, shapes, highlighting, etc), the preview text search doesn't work anymore.

This is a known problem. I have seen one suggestion to print the annotated PDF as a new PDF in order to get search capability back. You can try the Apple Discussions "search" feature at the upper right corner to look for more suggestions.

HT5957 Controlling music apps in lock screen doesn't work in ios7.02?

After applying the second update to ios7, none if my music apps function in the lock screen. No stopping music from any app including the Apple music app in the lock screen. This means that Bluetooth controllers such as car stereo systems can't control next track, pause or stop on any music app being accessed since the screen is generally locked while driving. This is dangerous because the only way to control these apps - while driving - is to unlock the phone. Apparently my phone is now more secure, but I guess that means it securely doesn't work in lock screen.

Try A and B
(A) Restart iPad
1. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
2. Drag the slider to turn off iPad.
3. Turn iPad back on, hold down the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears
(B) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

Preview's two-up feature doesn't work

I followed the instructions to view pages side-by-side in Preview, which are pretty elementary. View > PDF Display > Two Pages. But it simply doesn't work. I still only get one page on screen.
Somehow I doubt anyone will have a suggestion, because it just seems like this wasn't tested... but it can't hurt to ask.
Acrobat has the same option, even in a similar menu selection, and it works like a charm. But I don't want to have to use Acrobat.

Preview seems to have trouble with 2-page documents, treating them like Indesign treats book pages. It won't display the first and last page side by side, but it will show the pages 2 & 3 of a four page document as I expect.
This may be working just fine then... it's just not what I would have expected. while doing page page layout this makes sense, but not when reading them in preview. Or at least, I would hope to be able to simply show them side by side like I can when I print them.
So far, that's the only way I get this to work: open PDF, print PDF set with a layout of 2up.
Kind of lame, but whatever works.

I'm trying to remap default hotkeys of "Mac Viewer" App, but it doesn't work.
I followed theese steps:

Apps and media library doesn't work after software...

Hey guys!
Few days ago I updated my C3-00's software and my apps (Opera Mini and Facebook) doesn't work anymore. I tried reinstalling Opera but when I try to open it it says Opening Application and immediately after that Closing application (same with Facebook client).
My second problem is that my media library is messing with me because it maps the song artist and titles (484 songs) and only the few ones within a folder is played over and over. E.g. I try to play Queen - I want it all but Pendulum is played besides that.

Pages app is slow and doesn't work anymore

Recently, with the new update; pages app is NOT working on my ipad and it doesn't work when trying to pull it up on icloud to work on a document. It is unresponsive to editing and typing. Using a bluetooth keyboard is almost worse than the onscreen keyboard. I have found alot of people are having this same issue with pages; does anything work. I have tried just about everything to try to get this app working as it used to.

There may be a problem with the server. For questions about web access to .Mac services, you should post in the .Mac forum for better response.
