Preview bitmaps on win-explorer-doubleclick

Hi All,
on Win7 64 I could with CS5 associate all popular bitmap formats with Bridge.
That way when double-clicking an image in windows-explorer I got a preview with Bridge.
If so desired I could then fully open that file from the Bridge-Context Menu (open with...)
I would like to have it set up the same way with CS6 but I fail miserably.
Bridge indeed shows previews of all supported formats by using "Browse with Bridge" but I can not
get Bridge to gain focus and to let me preview images on Explorer-doubleclick.
Inside Bridge I have already reassigned the desired formats to Bridge (from Photoshop) but it has no effect.
Assigning Bridge as a Standard-Program for certain file-types from within Windows
does not work either. Browsing to the installation-folder and pointing to Bridge.exe has no effect.
Bridge does not get accepted and not even offered as one of the options to open a bitmap.
Images instead on Explorer-doubleclick either open with MS-Paint
or are even sent to the printer without confirmation which is particularly nasty.
Even after a second install and cleaning I do not get this set up.
Did anyone run into the same problem and knows how to fix this?

You may also have to set flle associations in the OS. On the road right now but in Win 7 look in Help for file associatons to see how to get there.
I've been there before my first post. That does not work.
The good news is that I got a workable solution for Win7 64 and CS6. The .reg-files found here give access to Bridge on File-Level (not as Adobe-Default default per Directory).
So one can simply rightclick any file and preview it in Bridge.
I still had some nasty remaining Context-Menu-Entries such as "Preview/Edit" and then the same again in my OS-language which could not easily be deleted from the Registry.
With this cool tool I could clean up. Now there's only "open" which uses the assigned Editor and "Preview in Bridge"(through the additional .reg-key).
Ok, I also renamed the default Windows-Picture-Viewer .dll (there are two - one in 32bit and one in the 64 bit programs-folder) which got rid of additional
context-menu-entries. Warning: Although pretty easy to handle one should know a bit about what one's doing before running these tools.
Previous registry-backup doesn't hurt either.
Bridge is very useful, bummer only that some darn obvious stuff to make it interact with windows is not in place.

You can't copy what is essentially a preview in Bridge to the Windows clipboard.
Right-click > Reveal in Explorer and do it from there.

Problem deleting pdf files on network ressources when preview window of the explorer is enabled

Some of our customers have the Preview Function enabled in Windows Explorer. When they delete a pdf File on a network ressource (\\server1\share1\ for example) in Windows Explorer the file disappears, but will not be deleted immediately. After a refresh of the current explorer window, the file apperas again. After 30-60 seconds and a refresh of the Windows Explorer View, the file disappears definitely.
The problem exists only on various network ressources and when the Preview Function of the Windows Explorer is enabled. On local drives the pdf Files will be deleted immediately and don't appear again. With any other file types except pdf, there is no problem.
Problem exists on 32 and 64 Bit Windows 7, all current security Updates installed. Current Version of Adobe Reader X is also installed.
Anyone have an idea?

Unable to view captivate 8 preview project in internet explorer

unable to view captivate 8 preview>project in internet explorer. I get 404 web page can't be found. I haven't built an extensive layout. I just changed the title text and subtitle text to preview in a browser. It doesn't want to show any result. I notice the web address is http://localhost:4932/HTML5Temp5276756792Pre/rindex.html, how do I ensure I'm pulling information from the correct location? How do I set the parameters to get the file from the proper folder? I have changed the cache folder location to an external hard drive and I need to know how to let internet explorer recognize where to search for the preview of a project.

Nothing wrong with the web address. But this is a temporary address which gets generated while previewing.
After making the changes, did you just hit a Refresh in the browser to preview the updated version? If yes, this won't work as the web address would be different for every preview. Every time you need to preview, you have to initiate it from within Captivate (shortcut for HTML5 preview is F11).

Win Explore has screwy FTP drive actions!

Win 7 Home [Ver. 6.1 Build 7601: Service Pack 1]...Big powerful PC...web-domains =www.here-ugo.com and mavpca.org...running Win Explorer.
I can create "FTP Drives" that appear in the left pane of WE. Some times they work. Work = drag & drop to drive transfers file(s) to domain. Copy and paste works more often than drag & drop. Occasionally either method results in the file(s)
appearing in the left pane, but they don't really exist on the domain. How do I know that?
Running an ftp client program shows that the subject file is missing
Double clicking on the subject file results n an error
Trying to delete the subject file results in an error
Only getting out and re-launching makes the "ghost file" disappear!
The "good" FTP Drives show: Computer > ftp.(domain) > on the top line of WE.
The "bad" FTP Drives show: Internet > ftp.(domain) > on the top line of WE.
Actually, "bad" FTP Drives momentarily show "Computer" before changing to "Internet".
Clicking on the "expand" arrow of a "good" FTP Drive in the left pane will show all folders [they are also shown in the right pane, of course]. Clicking on the "expand" arrow of a "bad" FTP Drive in the left pane will
show nothing below it.
"Good" FTP Drives show a small window during file transfer that has a WORKING progress bar. "Bad" FTP Drives either do not show the window or it goes away before the progress bar displays.
I have spent 3 days on this. I have a flat ear. Many hours on phone with ISP and MS CS [at one point, I got a guy in OR who spoke English...he was very helpful, but since he only knew about Surface issues, he handed me off to folks in Manila. They insisted
they were "Pro-level" support, but I could tell they didn't have a clue and I wasn't about to spend $200-$500 w/ them!
I guess I should say that I have a friend with a domain. We both tried to upload from WE to BOTH domains w/ no success.
Should I give up and just use an FTP Client? Why have a documented FTP facility in WE if it doesn't work?
Any help would be appreciated...

Preview in browser internet explorer for mac

I use a Mac running Leopard and use Safari as my web browser.
When I try to "preview in browser" in DW, Internet explorer is not
available. Can I run it on mac and where do a get a compatible
version--and preferably without spending a lot of $.

internet explorer for the mac hasn't been supported by MS for
years. Honestly, it's not worth even looking at it.
To view your work in IE for win users, consider getting
something like VMWare Fusion or Parallels or just simply using
BootCamp (which comes with Leopard), to install Windows XP/Vista
onto your Mac.

Cannot 'open with' LR3.6 from Win Explorer

Hi there,
Since upgrading to LR 3.6 I am unable to export .jpg photos from Windows Explorer directly into Lightroom 3.     I always use to be able to right click on any photo and 'open with' Lightroom 3 (.exe) before this upgrade.
Also, in the library files I could do the same with my RAW photos - i.e. right click on one of them and 'open with' the LR3 icon in the list, but am unable to do this now.
I know I can open up LR3 and import the photos, but I simply prefer going into Windows Explorer to pick and choose the ones I want.       My OS is Win 7.
Can anyone help?

Preview problem in Internet Explorer

So I was building a website using CS6. So far so good, however problems arise when I preview them.
The website looks exactly what I wanted in Dremaweaver's Live View and Google Chrome. But in Internet Explorer, there are a few problems;
(these problems do not occur at the same time, they occur at different version of Windows but all using IE)
1 The bottom of the webpage is not fully shown. There should be a footer <div> which can be seen in Live View and Chrome however not in IE. It looks as if you are printing something and it just stopped halfway.
2 In my webpage there are rollover images which glow when your mouse moves over them. A border appears around the images in IE but not in Live View or Chrome.

It turns out my parents had set the text size in Internet Explorer to 'Largest' as a result the footer <div> can't be seen. Once changed back to 'Medium' the footer <div> is visible again. So the first case is solved but still thanks for the guidance given.
Just be aware that others besides your parents will also want to use Largest. If your site layout breaks when this setting is chosen, then you might want to reconsider the layout. Increasing text size by one tick in Safari on my Mac causes the footer to drop below the bottom of the screen without a scrollbar.
I suspect that you might want to do two things to eliminate this problem:
1. Remove the overflow:hidden style (why are you using that?)
2. Remote the max-height style (why are you using that?)
Both of these styles are applied to the div#container element.

Set mp600 to default "Preview before printing" win 8

I have a mp600 that serves me well. I had it set up on an XP desktop to always "preview before printing" as the default. Now I have replaced that desktop with a win 8 laptop and after some effort found drivers for it but I can't find a way to set the default mode to "Preview". Each time I print, I can change it to preview before print in the settings and it works fine but I have to remember to do that each time I open the printer.
Is this just because Canon doesn't support win 8 on this printer or am I missing something obvious?

Hi LocalHero,
Windows or the application you are printing from may have a "preview" feature. Also, the Canon drivers for your printer will contain a "Print Preview" option. Since drivers for Windows 8 with the MP600 are not available, you are likely using the application or Windows "preview". For additional support with setting preview this to be "on" by default, I recommend contacting MIcrosoft.

FIX FOUND:
(Encountered same problem in Windows 8.1 Pro. We have only Acrobat X, no Reader.)
Open Explorer. Select View from the top menu.
On the ribbon, there should be a button "Preview Pane".
Toggle it on or off by pressing the button. You can also use ALT+P.
Explorer will tell you that Preview is off, because the phrase "Select file to preview" disappears.

Right mouse on the graph and select common plots. Under there you can select how you want to display your information. After selecting the display with points, you can go further down the list to Point Style to choose circles,squares etc....

My site previews fine in live, explorer and firefox, but the fonts are extra large and bold on chrome, this is my first site, please assist. I will be happy to provide screenshots and code or css sheets.

Working on my first site, Am getting different previews. Chrome tends to make the font big and bold while all other browsers work fine. Am also having a hard time centering the navigation links, they are a little closer to top of the navigation div than the bottom. Any assistance will be appreciated.
