Preview Building of Library

I just started running the new Aperture Trial Version today and have a question about building the previews . . . so sorry if this is a stupid one. I started running the program about 10 this morning and loaded my iPhoto library which is about 2,000 images. 3 times since then I have tried to quit the app and got the message saying it was still building previews. I just kept working or left the app open figuring that if it was warning me not to interrupt it I was risking losing the previewing it had done already. So here's my stupid question: If I just quit anyway, will it just pick up where it left off? Or is it going to go through a whole long process (I am hoping and praying this isn't something it does EVERY time you use the software) all over again? Also, is it normal for a library of that size to take over 6 hours to build the previews?

Yes. It will continue this in the background the next go round.
quote: "Or is it going to go through a whole long process (I am hoping and praying this isn't something it does EVERY time you use the software) all over again?"
No.
quote: "Also, is it normal for a library of that size to take over 6 hours to build the previews?"
This is contingent on the quality & size of the preview and, the size, speed, connection, of the hard drive, and the speed, maintenance, of your system.
BTW, you don't have to make Previews of all photographs from your Import. You can deselect in Aperture Preferences "New projects automatically generate previews"
My settings are:
Deselect "New projects automatically generate previews"
Share previews with iLife & iWork (yes)
Preview Quality High
Limit preview size Don't Limit
I then make the previews when I need them & only on my 5 Star photographs.
To do this select the photographs do one of the following
Control click on the photograph and from the shortcut menu choose "Update Preview" or select the photographs & go to Images>Update Previews.

  • Problem with System Metrics SM_CXSIZEFRAME + SM_CXPADDEDBORDER in Windows 10 Preview (Build 10041)

Maybe this forum is the wrong place to ask something about Windows 10 Preview, but I did not find a dedicated place to report
programming problems as opposed to user problems:
I program/maintain a 32-bit desktop (WIN32 API) application and try it now on Windows 10 Preview build 10041. I calculate the size of a window border with the help of the GetSystemMetrics function, using the constants SM_CXSIZEFRAME and SM_CXPADDEDBORDER.
Originally, I only used SM_CXSIZEFRAME. This returned 4 pixels instead of the expected 8 pixels that I got on all previous windows versions up to Windows 8.1. Then I learned that already since Windows Vista one is expected to add the value of SM_CXPADDEDBORDER
to get the full border size. (SM_CXSIZEFRAME alone only continued to work on Vista and beyond thanks to a little compatibility hack by Microsoft, with SM_CXSIZEFRAME still returning the full border size and SM_CXPADDEDBORDER returning
yet 0, at least for 32-bit programs like mine.)
Assuming that Microsoft finally switched off that compatibility measure on Windows 10 I query and add SM_CXPADDEDBORDER now as well. Unfortunately this does not solve my problem, as that system metric returns 0.
Just to be on the sure side, I declared my program to support Windows 10 by using an embedded manifest and using the corresponding <compatibility> / <supportedOS> line with the Windows 10 GUID - this did not help either.
As querying and adding those two system metric values is rather trivial (no need to include code in this question, I think), I don't have the slightest idea what
I could do wrong here, this looks like Preview bug affecting 32-bit programs to me...

I regret to inform you, that you have to live with this error for ever. Microsoft won't fix it... we reported an error of the Windows Error Reporting system (exists since Windows 8) and provided a reproduction (an application with one printed page of code,
so very small and easy). It has never been fixed. 3 developers at Microsoft are involved and they confirmed, that it's a bug ... but... no chance. It's a strange company... I don't know what they mean with "we listen to our customers".
PS: ja, nöd grad hilfriich mini Kommentär, aber die Type triibed eim eifach in Wahnsinn!! ... schinbar nöd nur öschtlich vo Bade, sondern au weschtlich

  • About the error: "The account is not authorized to login from this station" when you access NAS devices from Windows 10 Technical Preview (build 9926)

    Scenario:
With the release of Windows 10 Technical Preview (build 9926), some users may encounter an error message of “The account is not authorized to login from this station” when trying to access remote files saved in NAS storage. In
addition, the following error log may also be found via Event Viewer:
    Rejected an insecure guest logon.
This event indicates that the server attempted to log the user on as an unauthenticated guest but was denied by the client. Guest logons do not support standard security features such as signing and encryption. As a result,
guest logons are vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks that can expose sensitive data on the network. Windows disables insecure guest logons by default. Microsoft does not recommend enabling insecure guest logons.
    Background:
The error message is due to a change we made in Windows 10 Technical Preview (build 9926) which is related to security and remote file access that may affect you.
Previously, remote file access includes a way of connecting to a file server without a username and password, which was termed as “guest access”.
With guest access authentication, the user does not need to send a user name or password.
The security change is intended to address a weakness when using guest access.  While the server may be fine not distinguishing among clients for files (and, you can imagine in the home scenario that it doesn’t
matter to you which of your family members is looking at the shared folder of pictures from your last vacation), this can actually put you at risk elsewhere.  Without an account and password, the client doesn’t end up with a secure connection to the server.
A malicious server can put itself in the middle (also known as the Man-In-The-Middle attack), and trick the client into sending files or accepting malicious data.  This is not necessarily a big concern in your home, but can be an issue when you take your
laptop to your local coffee shop and someone there is lurking, ready to compromise your automatic connections to a server that you can’t verify.  Or when your child goes back to the dorm at the university. The change we made removes the ability to connect
to NAS devices with guest access, but the error message which is shown in build 9926 does not clearly explain what happened. We are working on a better experience for the final product which will help people who are in this situation.
As a Windows Insider you’re seeing our work in progress; we’re sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused.
    Suggestion:
You may see some workarounds (eg. making a registry change restores your ability to connect with guest access).
We do NOT recommend making that change as it leaves you vulnerable to the kinds of attacks this change was meant to protect you from.
The recommended solution is to add an explicit account and password on your NAS device, and use that for the connections.  It is a one-time inconvenience,
but the long term benefits are worthwhile.  If you are having trouble configuring your system, send us your feedback via the Feedback App and post your information here so we can document additional affected scenarios.

  • Failed to Install The New Preview Build. Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80246007: FBL_AWESOME1501 9926 Professional.

    Hello,
I'm having issues upgrading my Windows 10 Technical Preview installation build 9879 to a newer build that's become available late January 23rd.
I am installing the new upgrade in a Hyper-V virtual machine and get the following error:
Failed to install the new preview build, please try again later. 0x80246007
    What could be the problem?
Previously I've had messages that Windows cannot be upgraded on a computer with less than 2 Gbyte of RAM. That's a Hyper-V VM with dynamic memory and I was highly surprised to see this error; never had this before. Had to set 2048 Mbytes as a minimum memory
for this VM. Now that I have this 80246007 error code.
When looking up System log, the following error messages are listed multiple times:
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80246007: FBL_AWESOME1501 9926 Professional.
The errors are returned for the Event ID 20 by WindowsUpdateClient
in task category Windows Update Agent..
    I reviewed the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability
registry key as suggested in Windows
Insider stuck on build 9841 - "No new preview build was found", and here is what it shows:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability]
    "BranchName"="fbl_awesome1501"
    "ThresholdRiskLevel"="low"
    "ThresholdOptedin"=dword:00000001
Note, when attempting to install the downloaded update from a native boot, installation starts with no errors.
However, since setup is not supported for a natively booted VHD files, it does not proceed further showing a message that installation on virtual drives is not supported.
Looks like Setup is having problems installing in a Hyper-V virtual machine.
Possibly, some ESD files got corrupted during downloading? Is it possible to remove them and re-download missing files? (I, however, noticed that Windows seems to re-download upgrade files after you restart 9879 and attempt to check for a new build.
Any clue why installing under VM causes 9926 to fail?
    Thank you in advance.
Well this is the world we live in And these are the hands we're given...

    Hi,
According to the error message, this problem seems like update package installation failed during system upgrade.
You can try to remove ESD file which locate at boot of C drive and upgrade the system again for test.
On the other hand, make sure the system 9879 installed all Windows pushed updates before system upgrade.

Hi everyone from the Build 2015 conference happening right now in San Francisco! If you haven’t already, check out Terry’s blog post about all the Windows 10 announcements we made today. If you’re at Build this week or at Ignite in Chicago next week – keep your eye out for me and say hello!
Today we have a new build available to both the Fast and Slow ring for Windows Insiders (that means we’ll have ISOs available too for those of you who like a clean install.) With this build we continue to evolve the features and design for Windows 10, and you’ll see a lot of subtle changes and improvements, many of which were influenced directly by Windows Insiders. One of those changes is the reintroduction of some Aero Glass elements in the UI, but there are many more things throughout the product as well. We continue to use your feedback directly day to day in how our feature teams operate, and we hope that Windows 10 will be the best version of Windows yet because you had a direct hand in its creation.
One other subtle change that you’ll notice is that we’ve changed how we talk about the builds from “Technical Preview” to “Insider Preview” to reflect the importance of the Windows Insider community in how we’re building Windows 10.
And speaking of Windows Insiders, we were super excited to host the 10 winners of our Windows Insiders to Campus contest in Redmond last week and hear their thoughts on the program and the product. We’ll share more on that soon.
Here is what’s newSome of the things that Joe demoed on stage earlier today during the Build keynote are not yet included in this build and will be in future builds. But we still have a bunch of new stuff for you to check out!
General UX improvements: We made a bunch of UX improvements with the last build and you’ll see even more in this build. For example, you’ll notice a new Live Tile animation for Start in addition to in addition to some performance and stability improvements for Live Tiles.
We’ve done work to better support high DPI displays. And we know many Windows Insiders are running multi-mon setups – often with 2 monitors with different DPI. You will start to see some work we’re doing to make sure core UX components in Windows scale correctly on both your monitors so things look nice regardless of DPI.
We’ve also heard loud in clear that many Windows Insiders want to see Aero Glass from Windows 7 make a comeback. We’ve been working out how to satisfy this request, and are trying some things out with this build to see how you like them. We’re running a little A/B test with this build. 50% of you will normal transparency on the Start menu and taskbar while the other 50% will see a blur effect on the Start menu and taskbar (like frosted glass). If Windows Insiders really like the blur effect, we will add it to more areas and even consider making it the default instead of standard transparency. Which one did you get? Send us feedback about it via the Windows Feedback app!
Even more improvements to Continuum: We’re continuing to make Continuum better and invest in a simplified taskbar. Additionally when you close an application in Tablet mode, we take you back to the Start screen instead of the desktop as you would expect when using a tablet. You will see general polish on snapping, and the shared divider between two snapped windows now let’s you adjust the size.
Multi-tasking improvements: We’re continuing to refine and complete our mulit-tasking experience with Windows 10. Check out Alt-Tab, Task-View, and Snap Assist. Snap Assist also now supports the ability to close a window during Snap Assist.
New default Windows sounds: We’ve heard a lot of feedback from people that they want some fresh system sounds for Windows 10. Check them out and let us know what you think.
Visual refresh for Cortana: You will see a visual refresh for Cortana in this build that makes the experience feel more ingrained into the overall Windows experience. Start and Cortana are now more tightly integrated. As you start to search for an app from within Start, Cortana can seamlessly take over and bring back the right result. The new Windows split view control has been added to Cortana’s left rail, offering quick access to key Cortana functionality like the Notebook, Reminders or Feedback on how Cortana’s doing. This split view control helps anchor Cortana to the rest of the Windows UI and provides navigation consistent with many other Windows first party applications.
New experiences in Cortana: We are making available some new and updated experiences in Cortana powered by Bing Instant Answers. Cortana will aim to answer your question while you’re still typing. Here are a few questions you can try:
    Weather – “Seattle Weather”
    Finance – “MSFT stock”
    Dictionary – “define astounding”
    Calculator – “48*92”
    Flight Status – “UA 238”
Reference – “how tall is brad pitt”
    Showtimes – “movies near me”
Tech Help – “memory in my computer”
Time Zone – “time in London”
Unit Conversion – “42 ft in meters”
Chit Chat – “tell me a joke”
Updates for the Music and Video Preview apps: We’ve also shipped updates to these apps. The Music Preview app (3.6.999.0) has some UX improvements including a more immersive Now Playing experience with a true full screen mode. With the Video Preview app (3.6.999.0) – you can download movies, TV shows, and TV seasons and check progress, pause, resume, cancel the download. You can also download, delete, and even re-download videos as many times as you want on up to three devices (we’re planning to increase the number of devices you can download content too!). Closed captioning for purchased content now appears. You will see a list of new features when you first launch these app after each update!
Xbox app April 2015 update: The Xbox app for Windows 10 has been updated (your version number should be 4.4.9014.0 or higher) with new features like Game DVR for PC games, screenshots, a Live Tile, user profiles, and real-name sharing. Oh and the drivers for Xbox controllers are now included with Windows 10, so you no longer have to download and install controller drivers on Windows 10. For more on this month’s Xbox app for Windows 10 update as well as the new Avatars app – read this blog post.
Windows Store Beta improvements: We’re excited about delivering a single unified Store experience in Windows 10 which we’re talking more about this week at Build. We’ve made some improvements to the Store Beta which is now a blue tile instead of grey. Xbox Live games should be working and so are in-app purchases. Apps you purchased on a PC running Windows 8.1 will now show up in the Store Beta on Windows 10 as owned (and vice-versa). We’re also expanding the Store Beta from 41 markets with the addition of these new markets: Afghanistan, Åland Islands, Albania, Algeria, American Samoa, Andorra, Angola, Anguilla, Antarctica, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Aruba, Azerbaijan, The Bahamas, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belize, Benin, Bermuda, Bahrain, Bhutan, Bolivia, Bonaire, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Bouvet Island, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Iceland, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Malta, Pakistan, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Lebanon, Nicaragua, Oman, Panama, Puerto Rico, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Venezuela.
Discovering features and apps in Windows 10: We are investing in easy “bite-sized” learning and discovery experiences so that users can get more out of Windows 10. This ranges from tips and tricks on the Lock screen, to helping users discover high quality apps through Start, the Lock screen and Cortana. Be confident that you won’t miss out on new features and enjoy the ease of having high quality apps curated for you. It’s optional, and if anything doesn’t strike your fancy, you can provide feedback directly, such as whether you like an image or an app. These new experiences will be rolling out over time, so you may not see them in your market yet.
Here are some things we fixed
You can now launch Win32 (desktop) apps from the Start menu again. Sorry about this bug!
You should be able to download music in the Xbox Music and Music Preview apps.
When you minimize an app playing audio, it should continue playing in the background.
    Here are some known issues
Developers cannot enable Developer Mode in the Settings app for installing and testing apps on this build. We’ll enable this in an upcoming build. In the meantime, you will need enable your device for development using the Group Policy Editor.
There is an issue in this build preventing some games from playing in full screen mode. We’re working to get a fix out via WU as soon as possible.
The People app continues to crash. We’re planning to release an update for the People app through the Store Beta that fixes this.
We hope you’ll agree that 10074 has some nice improvements and is another step forward towards delivering a great Windows 10 release. Please put it through the paces and keep sending us feedback on the things that you like and the things you want us to keep working on using the Windows Feedback app. I hope that you’ll also download the development tools released at Build and will build some terrific Universal Windows apps as well!
    Thanks,

  • Update Operation Fatal Error when installing Technical Preview Build 10041 Upgrade

I posted this in the Microsoft Community forums and was redirected here.
Below is the original post (URL: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_install/update-operation-fatal-error-when-installing/6eaff1b9-0223-4357-afc8-884382590e82 )
    Hello,
In trying to perform an upgrade install of the Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10041 (as is the latest available for direct download as of my writing), I am running into a problem I cannot find mention of anywhere else on the web.
I fall into two categories with regards to this build: A) Product tester who actually needs to test application performance under Windows 10 on bare metal, B) Semi-crazy techie who loves using (usable) beta software as his primary environment ;)
so it is rather important to me that I get this working on my machine in some non-virtualized respect. I am reluctant to do a full/fresh install if installation problems are happening, because my Windows 8 product key has been f***ed up from the
start (likely some random database corruption) and I've had to utilize phone support to get around an "unknown error" the last two times I've had to use it. So, for fear of that key completely crapping out on me, I don't want to move to Win10 unless
I'm confident it will install and I can stick with it (for better or worse) through the end. Problems within the Preview after I install it I can deal with.
So, I first tried to install the Preview through the standard Windows Update method. The installer took about 7 hours (but from reading lots of internet discussions, stupidly long install times in that range seem to be a common problem with
this builds separate from it actually failing). During the reboot between the "Setting up Devices" (Or is it Setting up Drivers? I forget) and "Taking Care of a Few More Things" (Again, possibly paraphrased), for about a split second, underneath
the Windows logo and throbber, some error like this appeared:
Fatal Error Performing Update Operation # of ##: ERROR CODE
It only appeared for a fraction of a second, and I had no chance of reading the precise numbers or error.
However, the installer then seemed to continue, and went until the main circle was at 100%. As soon as 100% hit, however, the screen went black for something like 30min. Then, I briefly saw "Attempting to recover installation" before "Restoring
your previous version of Windows." And I was, quite impressively considering how far along that installer was, back in Windows 8.1 completely unharmed.
I tried again by burning an ISO and doing a disc upgrade install. I let that one run overnight and was asleep for the error, but I was back in Win8.1 in the morning, so I can only assume a similar thing happened there.
As for my system specs, I'm running on a MacBook Pro 9,1 under Boot Camp. I am upgrading from Windows 8.1.2 Pro with Media Center. I have found other online accounts of people quite successfully installing Windows 10 on Macs, so that isn't the issue.
Does anyone have any clue as to what this error might have been/be, and how I might fix it? Or at least have it on good authority that a fresh installation would be unaffected (meaning it's software-related)? If not, I can try installing to a VHD,
which would at least let me product test on bare metal, but wouldn't have the harddrive space to be my daily driver and would probably only get used occasionally.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
So far, I have the yet-to-be-tried idea of a clean boot prior to installation.
If anyone here has any more specific ideas, lemme hear 'em.
    Thanks!

To the individual who proposed this as an answer to my problem: It's not even applicable. I specifically stated that I was trying to avoid doing a clean installation (at least without knowing more about the problem at hand). An answer saying to do the thing
you're trying to avoid doing is not an answer. You can see my last reply for the current status of this issue. 6-8 hour blocks of time in which I can't use my computer (as is required to install build 10041) aren't super common for me, but I haven't abandoned
this thread. There have simply been no more updates. If your motivation as a mod was that you simply don't like there being unanswered threads on this forum, then perhaps you could attempt to contribute rather than arbitrarily marking the first reply as an
    answer.
I will continue to update this thread as I try new things and get more information.
    Thank you.

  • (Current Build: 9841) PC Settings - Preview Builds - Download Now - Failed to download new preview build, please try again later. 0x80246017

    Hey ,
I hope someone can help.. been trying to upgrade from 9841 to 9860 for the last few days.. and I cant seem to get the preview build download part to work..
Seems like "80246017 Flight Settings Failure Content Download Error: Download failed" is the main error (more logs below)
And it doesn't seem like(from other blog posts) there are any manual downloads (ISO, .EXE's) so I'm stuck.
I know I could possibly do a full "clean" re-install of 9841 and then upgrade to 9860 but I really want to find out why its not working..
    Cheers

    Hi,
I had this same issue and tried many things to fix it. I finally found a fix with a small registry edit.
Open command prompt under admin and follow these steps (which I found here:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_tp-winipp/error-code-0x80246017-when-trying-to-download-new/b188df4f-8e7a-443a-b584-61c4d59407d8)
    reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability" /v "BranchName" /d "fbl_release" /t REG_SZ
    /f
    reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability" /v "ThresholdRiskLevel" /d "low" /t REG_SZ /f
    reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability" /v "ThresholdInternal" /f
    reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability" /v "ThresholdOptedIn" /f
After you have done that open regedit and navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability
If there is a folder called "recovered from" delete it. Then open up Windows Update in PC settings and go to preview builds and click Check Now
This worked for me. Hopes it works for you to.

  • How to deploy a single PBL (Build Runtime Library) in 64Bit

    Hello There,
I am testing PB15 and create
two Project Files within the application. One Projectfile to compile a 32Bit Version and the other one to deploy a 64Bit version in P-Code. We are delivering today Patches in a Patch Library at the top of the library list (we are aware for the dependencies and know how to avoid the “Wrong Function Call” issue).
How can I create a Patch Library for 64Bit?
Today we just recompile the Patch.PBL two times and rename Patch.PBL -> Patch.PBD. But that did not work with 64Bit Project because I can’t choose the desired Platform (I am guessing it is always compiles in 32Bit).
There is an additional menu point “Build Runtime Library” which seems to have the settings / option similar to the Project settings. But there is the Platform the missing link either (see attached Picture).
So how can I get a single PBL compiled in 64Bit without deploying the whole Project?
    BTW:
Compilation of the Whole app takes about 6 hours and results in full XCOPY deployment
of 730MB (in 64Bit), so we want wait that time or deliver so much files if a single
Patch.pbd of 500KB would be sufficient.
    Regards
        Marco

    Hi Marco,
You should try orcascript to build your patches.  It is much cleaner and faster.
I setup a .dat file with the orcascript and then run it using a .bat file.
this is my batch file command:  OrcaScr125 build.dat >buildlog.txt
Note that the orcascr command is version specific.  I have NOT tried this yet with PB 15 32 or 64 bit.
this is what the build.dat would have in it.  The liblist has to be your lib list, same with the main applicaiton info.
NOTE:  i regen a function in the script in order to set a patch date that users can see.  Also, note that i copy the patch.pbl to a build directory, build it, then copy the .pbd to various locations.
    start session
    file copy "patch.pbl" "build\patch.pbl"
    set liblist "build\patch.pbl; ...."
    set application "C:\main.pbl" "app"
    regenerate "build\patch.pbl" "f_get_patch_date" "function"
    build library "build\patch.pbl"   "" pbd
    file copy "build\patch.pbd" "patch.pbd"
    file copy "patch.pbd" "..\patch.pbd"
    end session

  • Preview build update fails with 0x80070003

Attempting to update the preview build form 9860 yields error 0x80070003.
How do I update the preview build?

Here is the link to download the latest (9879) build ISO.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-iso-update?os=win10
Burn the ISO file to a bootable DVD, and use the DVD to do a clean install.
Use the Windows7 USB?DVD Download Tool to burn the ISO file. Don't be concern about the words "Windows 7 ". It will work. I use it countless times on various ISO files.

  • How do i update preview build 9841 to 9926

I wan to update from preview build 9841 to 9926 without downloading iso .. is it possible? I cant download gb of iso again my net is so slow .. is it can update?

    Hi Donsreeraj,
If you don't want to take use of Windows 10 9926 ISO, you may go to PC Settings, Update and recovery, Preview builds and click the Check Now button to go get it now, which also will download a large file.
    For reference:
January build now available to the Windows Insider Program

  • [svn:fx-trunk] 12087: Dev only. Checking in Flash Builder 4 " Library Projects" for building Flex SDK SWCs in trunk.

    Log Message:
Dev only. Checking in Flash Builder 4 "Library Projects" for building Flex SDK SWCs in trunk. These projects are easier to import and do not require linked resource variables to be specified.
Note: although the trunk does not build textLayout.swc, there appears to be a legitimate compiler error in FlowGroupElement.as as a cast is missing. I'll follow up with TLF.

Status Update - don't know if this is a bug, design flaw, install problem or my misunderstanding.
I got it to work by first changing my Flex library to 4.5.0 - still didn't work with current
app and update mxml files using "2.6" for their namespace versions. But I did at least
get the popup error number 16815 - indicating an error in the update version namespace.
By leaving my application namespace version at "2.6" and changing the update version to "2.5" ... bingo!
I got my new update installed autiomatically.
Is this how it's supposed to work - or are my runtimes mixed up?
Will this work the same using the Flex 4.5.1 SDK? I'll find out shortly
    Hope this helps others.

  • Check for Preview Builds failing with error 0x080240438

Checking for Preview Builds on my two machines, one running 9860 and one running 9879, is failing with "Failed to check for new preview build, please try again later.  0x80240438.
Tried stopping Windows Update Service and clearing down the c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution cache but to no avail. Windows Update (check for updates rather than check for preview builds) working fine.
As ever would be nice to hear from MS on this.

    Hi,
This seems to be the issue with the server side and should be fixed already.
Check the fred andrews's reply in this thread:

  • Best Practice Building Block Library not accessible in Firefox

    Hello SAP Documentation Team,
I've just get aware of the <a href="http://help.sap.com/bp_bblibrary/500/BBlibrary_start.htm">Best Practice Building Block Library</a>. Unfortunately it can't be used with Firefox 1.5.0.4 because of a script error. I see the dropdown lists but when I select for example Country "Germany" nothing happens. In IE it works perfect.
    Regards
    Gregor

Hope that this will change with later Best Practice releases.

  • Preview Build Section gone from Windows Tech Preview

So, I noticed that after updating to Windows Tech Preview Build 9860, the preview build section is gone from my settings in zPC settings. Is this a glitch or did Microsoft temporally remove it? Thanks.

It's there, you're just not looking in the right place.
There are two settings Apps - PC Settings and zPC Settings.
    Look in PC Settings, under
Update and recovery.  The Preview builds section is there in build 9860.
