Preview folio on iPad using Windows 7

Hello there,
I am currently working on a folio (InDesign CS6) and i'd like to have a preview on my iPad using the folio builder as I am not totally satisfied with the desktop-preview. Is there any way to do so without having to put a lot of work in it? I mean with iOS you just connect your iPad to your Mac and it works... (No, it doesn't with Windows.) A brief tutorial would be nice, couldn't find anything helpful on google...
I hope everyone could understand my problem as my english is not perfect
Best regards

Thank you very much for that quick reply.
But thats what I think I did. Could you give me a brief step-by-step-tutorial how to upload and what to do with my iPad?
What I did is:
- Work in InDesign at my folio using the Folio Builder, continuously updating my files to the cloud (not the Creative Cloud)
- Go to the Folio Producer and publish my folio (enter random publishing number and product-ID, click "publish". There is a check mark in the publishing-column.)
- Open the Adobe Content Viewer on my iPad, logging in using the same Adobe ID.
- Nothing happens, i cannot download any of my folios.
Please tell me what i'm doing wrong, i cannot help me anymore...
(I'm using german versions so dont blame me if some names do not match. I hope you could understand what i mean.)

  • Why is sorting on the iPad, using Windows, so lame?

After finally being able to sort my photographs for my iPad, using Windows, in ascending/decsending order within a given folder a couple versions ago, is not longer available in the current version of the iPad operating system. - Why?
With as much attention Apple has paid towards giving the user very complete control over music, it is allmost insulting that my photographs (some 2,000; distributed within some 20 folders) are left to the devices of the iPad.
After several conversations with Apple techs (giving their best efforts) I am left with their conclusion that I wouldn't have this trouble with a MAC computer.  And withing a PC, the sorting is controlled by the "date modified".  If that were the case, I might be able to deal.  But I catagorically say that it does not matter what order I change the modification, I still have no control.
Already owning the first iPad, my only rationalization for buying the iPad 3 was the high resolution of the new screen; which would show my photography at its best.
After several recent days, and earlier attempts a year or so ago, what was a rub is starting to really become irritating.  If I didn't feel better, I'd have to think that Apple is starting to get the same of "arrogent" attitude it used to have with the first iPod.
I can't think I am the only one who cares about this issue.  Would like to hear from as many who feel as strongly about their photographs as they do their music.
    Thank you,
    WillTheElder

Use third-party apps. For example, Photo Manager Pro has excellent sorting capabilities, which can be switched in runtime, without having to use a desktop for re-sorting. (See section "2.1.3 Sorting" at http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/all-one-photo-viewer-roundup-70-price-drop-bes t-image-viewer for a menu screenshot of this setting.)

I am unable to upgrade to ios 5.0 for my ipad. I am using windows 7 and my itunes is updated 10.1   it keeps timimg out and i get error message 3259.  I already tried diacbling antivirus software

You've tried turning off all firewall and antivirus software ? If that doesn't work then you could try downloading the 5.1.1 update via a browser :
    original iPad
    iPad 2 wifi
    iPad 2 gsm/sim
    iPad 2 CDMA
    iPad 2 new
    iPad 3 wifi
    iPad 3 gsm
    iPad 3 CDMA
When it's finished downloading, in your computer's iTunes press and hold the shift key on Windows (command key on Mac) when clicking the Check For Updates button which should let you navigate to the downloaded file.

  • Preview on iPad with Windows 7?

    Hello,
I am new to making apps for the iPad and use a Windows 7 pc for most of my actual design work. I wanted to know if it is possible to preview my folio in Adobe Content Viewer on my iPad without a Apple computer?
As of right now, my folio is completed and I am signed in, but the Adobe Content Viewer on my iPad will not locate my folio. I am guessing this is because I am using Windows 7, but would like to be sure.
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Himanshu,
Thank you for the response, but this is the problem I am having. I have mu folio built in the Folio Builder Panel, but it will not show up on the Content Viewer on the iPad? Why would this be? I am signed in and I checked the troubleshooting tips and I am doing everything right...yet I still can't preview my folio??

  • Content viewer doesn't show folio preview on connected iPad

    Hi all,
since I updated the content viewer on the latest version (3.0.0), I don't get a preview of my ID article on my connected iPad (from the panel "folio overlays")! What kind of bug is this? I really often use this function and I MISS it now!! What can I do?
    Can anyone help?
    Thank you

Hi, thank you, but I don't find my kind of problem there.
    I try to describe better...
BEFORE, I could always see a preview of my actual Indesign Document in the conten viewer. I would just connect my iPad, then choose "Vorschau auf dem iPad" (preview on the iPad) in the folio overlay panel.
NOW, I don't get this choice any more; Indesign only shows "Preview on the desktop" - ALTHOUGH I have my iPad connected and my content viewer running.
I have the same problem with two Macs and two iPads, so it really seems to be some kind of bug on this latest content viewer version?!

  • HT1766 How can I change the location of my iPad backup to an external hard drive (I'm using Windows XP)?

    Hi Everyone,
My computer's hard drive isn't very big and it's getting quite full backing up my iPhone and iPad. I would like to transfer the back ups to an external hard drive but I haven't figured out how to do this. Also, I would also like to move the Apps folder to the external hard drive.
Although I hope to eventually purchase an Apple computer, for now I still have a PC running Windows XP. Does anyone know how to transfer these files to an external hard drive using Windows XP?
My iPad is the newest with retina display, 128 GB Wi-fi.
    Many thanks!

    Relocate iOS device backups
Assuming you're running Windows Vista or later you can use the following steps:
Open a command prompt by hitting the start button and typing CMD<Enter> in the search box that opens up.
To move the current backup folder from C: to D: type in this command and press <Enter>
    Move "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
Where <User> is your Windows user name.
To make iTunes look for the data in the new location type in this command and press <Enter>
    MkLink /J "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
If your external drive has a different letter or you already have a folder called "Backup" then edit "D:\Backup" accordingly in both commands.
If you're still running Windows XP you can use Junction (cmd line tool) or NTFSLink (shell ext). In both cases you move the existing folder to a new location, create an empty folder where the old one used to be, then use the tools to get the operating system to link the two together and silently redirect any file operation on the old location through to the new one.
Note that while this method works for iOS device backups it cannot be used to redirect sections of the media library.

  • Previewing imported bitmaps for Illustrator CS4 using Windows XP

    Hi all
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to preview a bitmap while importing it into Illustrator CS4 (File>Place). I am using Windows XP SP3 and I know you can see a preview on bitmaps with the Mac version.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Thanks
    George

Some general comments (when I used CS3 and WinXp I did not have any problems, now I am on Win7 64bit Pro and CS5)
Check your WinXp configuration and eliminate (not remove, just stop from running at startup) anything you don't really need
Background programs can cause problems for video editing
The usual advice is to disable anti-virus (and, of course, don't connect to the Internet) to reduce the drain on resources
Also do not have other programs YOU start running, so PPro has 100% of the computer's attention & resources
Be sure you have a good device driver for your nVidia card
This is usually the latest one (direct from nVidia, not Windows update) but you MAY need to experiment with driver versions in case a later version does not work well
    >HDV project where the bulk of the files are HDV from a Canon HV20
CS5 is much better at allowing different kinds of files in a project, I'm not so sure about earlier versions
If your final output is going to be DVD what MAY help is to do only the HDV part, save out to DV AVI Widescreen, then do the other codecs in a separate project, and finally join the DV AVI files in a final project
CS4 is 32bit so will not take FULL advantage of Win7 and a 64bit computer... but if you have enough memory (I would say 12 or 16 Gig, depending on motherboard) that will allow CS4 to use as much ram as possible
Just how do you have your drives configured?
My 3 hard drives are configured as... (WD = Western Digital)
    1 - 320G WD Win7 64bit Pro and all program installs
2 - 320G WD Win7 swap file and video project files
3 - 1T WD all video files... input & output files
Search Microsoft to find out how to redirect your Windows swap file

  • Garageband for iPad and iPhone using Windows 7

Hi, I'm new to GarageBand. I have an iPhone and an iPad. How can I copy a garageband project that I created on one device to the other device? Also, I use Windows 7. If I use the Save to... button in iTunes, I get to save a file, but when I try to use the Add... button to add it to the other device, each .band file is a folder and when I select it, and click Open, it opens the contents and will only select a file once I get to a lower level of the project structure. The only files that I'm able to select are ones called PkgInfo and projectData. So, in other words, I'm able to get the project from either device to the computer but then unable to get the project from the computer to the other device. Thanks in advance.

Can anyone recommend a programme to convert a .mov file using windows 7 to iPad 2 please?

I think handbrake is easier for novices.
Mpegstreamclip is good software with a lot of great features but may be more than most people need.
